2. History: cloudSME Project
• Funded by the European Commission FP7 programme –
Factories of the Future initiative
• Duration time: July 2013 – March 2016
• EUR 4.5 million overall funding
• Coordinated by the University of Westminster
• 29 project partners – including 25 SMEs
• Focus: foster the uptake of simulation software especially
among SMEs by offering Software as a Service (SaaS)
on a scalable platform.
• Founded as a company in January 2016

• HORIZON2020 project - COLA = Cloud orchestration at the level of application

• COLA will replace the currently static resource provision of cloud applications
