3. Auto car is a magazine that specializes in different types of cars, whether its sport, S.U.Vs etc.
The front cover consists of a red and yellow colour scheme. Yellow is a bright and standing out colour. It’s a colour that represents
warnings ( e.g. Do not slip signs are yellow), and makes you aware, as you cant avoid looking at the colour, as it stands out. Red is a
masculine colour, and represents danger and determination. The colour blends well with the magazine, as the red represents
determination to getting the cars. They start with the logo in a bold font listed at the top left of the page, as that is the starting point to
read. Its in a bold text. They put it in a yellow box, in red font in order for the logo to stand out. It stands out as it has a different scheme
compared to the rest of the top heading. The cover line appears to be at the top and the middle of the page. The middle cover line is
presented in a big font. This is so that it stands out from the rest of the front cover, so that it grabs the most attention. The 7 is in a
different colour, to prove a point that there is a lot of new cars. The main image is spread in the middle of the magazine, and three are
dotted at the bottom. This is so that the newest and main story gets the most attention, and to show how this is especially included in
the magazine and the top story compared to the standard cars at the bottom. The ,main target audience for this would mainly be males.
The reason from this would be from the masculine colour scheme, and the car theme, as its more of a male topic. The written
language. The language is persuasive the top quote acts like its telling you to go ahead in buying a polluting car. Its telling he good
news ad makes a big deal about it, (showing new cars) and being honest, with the reviews. The average age for those who read this
magazine would be 55 year olds, who are mainly the richer class (ABC1). This is probably because the book contains expensive cars,
in which people may want to spend their money on, as they an afford it. The magazine like to use wide spread images in their
magazine, and the front. This is to promote the whole car itself. They also like to use bold font, in order to make the car brand
noticeable to grab your attention. Inside the magazine and the website, they like to talk about competition between two things, and they
like to compare for the audience to realize the best, so they can be persuaded to buy the best.

4. https://issuu.com/halfkut/docs/hairandbeauty
Hair and beauty is a magazine specialising in hair style and cosmetics. The colour scheme for the front
cover is dark green. The green is the dark background, and the model in the front is the main focus in the
magazine. The green stops you from focusing from anything around, and allows you to focus on anything
other than green. The colour scheme has a white and green theme to it. The colour green is the main look
for the front magazine, as it’s the colour dress that the model is wearing. So because the model is wearing
a green dress, the magazine want to stick with colours theme by promoting the colour on the font page. The
same goes for the double page spread. They are promoting the colour red, as it represents desire (to want
something). The logo covers the top of the magazine. The “&” is smaller than the rest of the logo. The big
words in the logo, make them look key and important to the magazine, as the and isn’t an important word to
know. The Blobs of writing seem to start of small, and end up going bigger. This makes it seem like the
titles are getting better and better, and the size make you focus on the best title (the biggest one). It also
acts like it is shouting t you, saying look at what we include. The magazine doesn't seem to have a website
for itself. The written language. The language layers up, and explains what its about. But the way its
explained is quick, and is done to draw your attention to. Its got persuasive language that explains what
you’ll get out from reading the article. Audience. The audience would go to women. The reason for this is
because the magazine, only has women models in them, mainly demonstrating the style. The target
audience would also go to stylists too. The reason is because he whole topic of the magazine is beauty,
and the stylists can use this for inspiration for what they can do. Lastly the class. I would believe that the
class of the audience would be between c1-d. The reason is because a hair dresser isn’t a very high paying
job, but still affordable. The page has a large title which covers half the page. It gets bigger as the last word
is bold. This shows off the title title, to promote what the article is about. The magazine like to use large
pictures in their pages and title. The large photograph on the side grabs the readers attention, to show an
example of what the article is about. With the text in the article, its layer out so every paragraph has a
separate theme. The paragraphs talk about the style of the hair, and how easy it is. These step by step
rules are short and easy to follow. By making it short and easy, the readers don’t have to read pages and
pages to do a step by step rule, making them dread having to read the next style.
5. Absolutely home is a magazine which specialises in interior design for your home. The colour scheme for
the front page is red and white. The red represents desire (to want something). The red fits perfectly in
the front cover, as the sofa is red. The colour on the sofa desires you to want it. The logo also follows the
red scheme. The red on the logo shows the desire to want what the company itself has, drawing intention
to know what you may want from the magazine. The logo itself spreads across the top of the magazine.
The font is thin, neat and sophisticated. it has the ”absolutely” in small texts on the top, and the home in
big text in the top middle. This is to promote the key word “home”, to show that is what the magazine is all
about. The text is nest and thin in order to make it look clear and nice rather than having spikes and
curves on the text. This is to show how good the interior designs are going to look, as the neatness of the
font shows good presentation to the company. The website and inside the book don’t seem to follow a
particular theme, except from a white background. This is because white represents perfection and
goodness, and having pictures of furniture over it, compliments the picture. The sub-headings go from
side to side on the the front cover, and have their own space. Its like every announcement on the front is
important to be layered on top of each other like a list. It shows how the sub-heading is key to the inside
of the magazine. It has a different colour scheme to the logo, and a smaller font. This is so that the
heading gets the biggest spotlight, and stands out. The image. On the website, the magazine and the
front cover use imagery to show what the product is. The website makes the image spread between the
two paragraphs. This is so that when scrolling down, you get a full revile of what to expect. In the
magazine, the image spreads across the top, and also to the side. The front cover has the image covering
the whole of the front. This shows that the magazine like to use big imagery, to make the revile un miss
able. The language of the front cover. The subheadings give a taste of what will happen when reading the
article. The taste sentence draws you in, as you want to find out what happens, so you start to read it.
The bottom right sub-heading is a special announcement. it shows that three people will have a statement
in this issue. The fact that it has the names of three different people draws you in to know what their taste
in design is (you can tell that they have something to do with interior design, as their names feature on a
book to do with interior design), so you can see what someone else’s taste is. The target audience for this
would be creative people (interior designer. The reason is because this book involves giving you creative
ideas to make your house look better. Inside of the book and website, they use language, which explain
how you should feel when buying the product. This is good advertisement, as it is giving you a sneak
peak of how you should feel when buying the product, making the readers curious themselves, and want
to experience this feeling. I would imagine that it would be the top class (ABC1) that would be interested
in this magazine. The reason is because they would be the ones who could afford to decorate your house.
With gender and age, I would imagine that the magazine would attract to 30-45 year old women. The
reason is because they are the ones who are more into interior design.

6. https://issuu.com/voirfashion/docs/voir_fashion_magazine_19_-_the_tast
https://www.voirfashion.co.uk/fashion
Voir is a magazine which specialises in fashion. Colour scheme. The colour scheme consists of mainly
yellow and purple (fluorescent purple). The colours of the logo match with what the models are wearing.
This is mainly to promote the models theme of colour, by layering the two colours on top of each other
to show the two different colours that the model is wearing. Also, the colours stand out too, as the
purple glows like a fluorescent light, and the yellow is naturally a bright colour, and two bright colours on
a front colour, will only catch your attention to it. There is also a black and white theme to the back of
the front cover. This is to calm down the front page, so that there isn’t too many colours at once. On the
website, they use a fluorescent purple and blue. This is because purple represents creativity, which the
dresses in the book, were creatively designed. In the article, Paris is coloured in red, white and blue.
This is because those colours represent the colours of the French flag. Text. The font to the magazines
heading stands out as it is different to the rest of the font on the page, and is in a curvy and neat shape.
The good and neat style of the logo, represents the good style of clothing in the magazine. In the article,
the text is bold. This is so it can stand out with the theme of the page. By making it bold, it involves itself
to be a main feature of the page too, as its telling where the cat walk was. The sub text is in the middle
of the whole front cover. The words is in a standard font with no style to it. This Is so that it can be the
second thing to grab your attention after reading the logo, then looking at the models, to see this text in-
between them. Image. The image in the back covers the whole front cover. This is because its not the
main focus, but it is noticeable and hard to avoid, as it literally covers the whole magazine. The models
are placed in front of everything, and are placed in the middle. This is to get a front glimpse of the
fashion that has to come. The front two act like that fashion is the main fashion, and the one which is
smaller than the ones at the front is another example, which you can preview. Inside of the magazine, it
has the images scattered about the page like a scrap book. The whole page is covered in pictures of
fashion from voir, to show the amount that they have produced. All the pictures include a model. Written
language. Inside of the magazine, they explain what they have witnessed all together. They talk about
the Paris fashion, by talking about the colours and collections that the models are wearing. This is to
show the detail of the experience of Paris to the audience. With the website have images separated in a
block. This is to show a time lapse of what happened on the cat walk. The way its laid out, makes you
look at the image from the top to the bottom like you are reading a sentence. The target audience for
this would be women aged between 18-24. the social grade is ABC1, the top class.
7. https://issuu.com/sdfsdfjkjk/docs/1dfvdvf
https://www.empireonline.com/movies/star-wars-last-jedi/review/
Empire is a magazine which specialises in movies. For the colour scheme of the front cover, its mainly blue. This
is because of the colour of the lightsaber at the front. It sticks with the theme of the lightsaber, and the Jedi, as the
colour blue in star wars represents the Jedi, and there is one in the front cover. Inside of the book and on the
website, they went with the red theme to suit the films logo(which is red), and to go with the sith theme. With
typography, they have used bold and a pointy font for the heading/logo. Its bold, so it can stand out, as its behind
the picture, and so its different to the rest of the fonts (so you know that is the logo). With the sub heading, they
use a thin and long font, and place it at the bottom middle of the page. They place it in the middle, to show off
what the picture’s movie is advertising. Inside of the magazine (published before the release), they like to update
us or recap of what we know about the movies, so we can be more exited to see the film. In the website, they
review the film, so we know what to expect. Lastly, photography. On the front cover, they get the cut out image to
cover the logo. This so that Luke and Rey can look grand and dominant, by putting them in front of everything,
and not hiding them. Inside of the magazine, they have the main plot as the big picture, and the behind the
scenes as the two small pictures, to the right. This is so that the one thing we are most interested in (Rey's
storyline) i9s the most clearest picture, and the things we may be interested (behind the scenes) are available if
we want to look at them. The target audience is aimed at males between the age of 25-39. the social grade is
abc1.
8.
9. The working title will be post screen magazine. The idea comes from post meaning after
something, and screen, representing what you watch the film on. This is the name, as it’s the
review of films.
10. My target audience for my movie review magazine will be towards males. The age range for the males would
be adults aged between 25-39. the reason for the age range is because is because they were grown up with
the original trilogy/or introduced to the film when the prequels came out in 1999. The reason for the gender is
the magazine is about an action and sci fi film which men stereotypically prefer. The content in my magazine
will appeal to them, as my magazine will talk about the action films, which they like. With there sexuality, it
appeals to all (gay/strait/bi). It appeals to all sexualities and relationship statuses, as the magazine doesn't’t
specify in sexuality. The National readership social grade for the magazine would be ABC1 and C2. This is
because they are the ones who can afford a more expensive magazine, and they can afford to go to the
cinema, and they would want to buy the magazine to hear someone else's opinion. The lifestyle of my target
audience would most likely be “socially conscience”. This is because they may believe everything I say about
the film, and will make a more conscious decision into seeing the film. The majority of the audience may be
from London, Yorkshire and Scotland based on the magazine empire which is a similar product and competitor.
The premiers of movies are mainly in London, which may explain why that city has a big audience. Yorkshire is
the biggest region in the uk, and has a high social grade of ABC1, showing they can afford the comics. Scotland
has a younger generation, which may be interested in the magazine.
11. The things which I have learnt from my previous project would firstly be camera shots. With the short film
project I did, I never really used Photoshop. Instead, I learnt about different camera techniques which I can
also apply for photo shooting. With this, id say that I've developed a skill in getting the perfect angle of a
shot when taking a picture, as I know the different lengths of shot and some techniques which may come
in handy; as in my film, I used a range of shots, e.g.. Long shots, short shots. Also, I’ve used Photoshop in
the past with the irn bru topic. I understand my way around editing and cutting out pictures (from the irn
bru task), which I will be doing with this project, to remove backgrounds. As I know how to cut out
backgrounds, I am bringing this skill to do that to the images I will bring to the project. The thing which
made me want to do a film based magazine would be from the Photoshop based work I did in the iron bur
project. There is lots of areas which I can use more Photoshop techniques on in this theme, as I can
make my pictures look like something else with the help of cutting. It worked I the irn bru project, as the cut
out image blended well with the old style background. Also, my irn-bru poster was inspired from a similar
movie poster (the good, the bad, and the ugly), so with the knowledge of recreating a movie poster from
inspiration, I know how to make a concept cover from pictures of movie photo shoots. That means, I know
how to blend my picture in with the background, without making it look obviously cut.
12. My brand (itself) is film magazine that preaches specially to action/sci-fi/thriller franchises. In this cover
of the magazine, the main topic is about star wars VIII (the last Jedi). It will show a front concept,
theming around the film, and a double page spread, which shows a Photo Shopped image of
someone holding a lightsaber (or possibly two), and a review of the film next to it, telling how the film
was. Also, the lightsaber(s) will glow like in the films, in order for the image to look like it is from the
film, to stop it looking tacky and cheap. Lastly, I will be making a website for my product, where it will
show the review for star wars, and it will be designed to fit with the logo on the magazine. For
research, I need to look at star wars front covers on magazines. By doing this, I can get inspiration to
see how others make a star wars front cover, so that I can interoperate my own ideas of star wars
into my front cover. Also, I may need to look at some reviews of star wars. By doing this, I will have
an idea of how to structure my sentences to sound like a real critic.
13. The way my work will be evaluated, will firstly be through a weekly reflection of what has
happened. I will firstly talk about what I had done in the week. Then I will talk about the my
strengths and weaknesses and improvements for the week, so I can improve on the next. After
I've finish my work, I will end on a final evaluation, where I state what I've done, and if I've
reached my target achievement.
14.
15. For the double page spread, I used adobe in design for the layout of the work. I had
decided to do a layout of a movie review, and theme and design the page. For the
cut poster, I Photo shopped it, by picking out key pictures from the film, and put the
background from another poster behind it, so it sticks with the theme of the original
film. I placed an action style scene on the top, so we can get a taste of what actually
happens in the film. I decided to cut the picture diagonally. I did this so that the page
can look more Interesting and quirky, rather than having everything boring and
squared. The font was bold and smooth. Its bold, so it is visible. Its smooth, so that it
looks neat and not all over the page.
Strengths
The first strength for the double page spread would be the images. I think that the idea
of them worked well, with having a picture of a scene on top, to give a taste of what
happens, and having a cut poster on the side, is designed to one, take up the page,
and two, so that more information can be fitted into the page. Another strength would
be laying out the text. I found it easy to arrange my text, and fit it into text boxes.
Also, I found it easy to control, for example, there wasn't a big process to make my
text go in a triangle, as it worked from the shape of the picture.
Weakness
The weakness which I had with making this would be shaping the pictures, and
adjusting it. The reason is because I couldn't get a strait line on the right of the
picture, leaving it looking all crooked. Another weakness with the double spread
would be the overall layout of the magazine. I spent more time on making the poster,
so I didn’t use enough time on being more creative with the layout. This leaves it
blank and simple.
What I've learnt, how it effects me.
The thing which I realise that you can do, but need more
practice on, would be shaping the image. I used this method to
shape the poster, to give a bit of space for the text, to have a
triangular shape style text. This will help me for making my
double page spread, as I may consider an odd shaped photo to
put in my double page, for the text to surround in order to make
the double page look more exiting. Also, I've learnt how to
move the text that doesn’t fit in the box. This will help me for
my double page spread, to make new sections of writings.
16. For the front cover magazine, I made it on adobe Photoshop. I decided to do a new
York themed magazine cover. I came up with the name new York old York. I felt
like this name seemed different and more original. For the background, I got a
standard new York skyline, and extended the top and bottom of it, by copying the
top half and the bottom half to the empty spaces. This is because those parts of
the picture was a singular colour, and easily blended in with the picture. for
images, I only added one image of Casey Neistat on the side, as he is a special
guest to the magazine, so I felt like he deserves a picture as he gets the most
praise. I made the boxes into a purple colour to go with the bluish background. I
also have a list of a couple of appearances on this magazine on the right side. The
list of people are those living or known to be from new York, to stick to the theme
of what this magazine is about. I include a prize on the top left, to interest the
reader. I put it below the title, so that its the second thing they see. I use a thin
and hand written font. This is to look different to standard fonts. Plus, the font is
exiting to look at, as its something different. This draws you in.
Strengths
The strength I had with this front cover would be the message it has. The way its all
been set out is very clear, with the title overhead, the prize clearly shown at the
top, the first announcements in the middle and the final special announcement,
largely shown at the bottom. Also, another strength was sorting out the
background, and the finished results. The background was originally landscape,
and never fitted in the frame, so I extended the sky and river, to fit in the frame.
The end results work, as it blended in with the frame of the original picture, and
worked as a background, as it wasn’t showing off, or distracting to look at.
Weakness
The weakness I had with making this would firstly be the typography. I struggled with
choosing the right font to fit with the theme of New York, as there was so many
fonts that didn’t fit in with the front cover. Also, another weakness which I had with
making the front cover would be the lack of images. There isn't many images on
the front cover, other than Casey. The images are the examples of the celebrities,
and I didn’t have enough time to cut out the other featured celebrities.
What I learnt:How it helps:
The thing which I have learnt when making the magazine would be theming
it. I learnt about the right colour schemes to use in the research, and I
realised with the right ones in this, from looking at the colours of the
background, and choosing the right tone to blend with the background. This
will help me when I make the front cover for my magazine, as I will be able
to have the right colours for it. No random colours without meaning. Also, I've
learnt about the layout of the magazine. I've learnt in how to clearly place the
information on the front cover, to stop it from looking all over the place;
instead, I've spaced it out, and putt different parts in different locations of the
paper. This will help me with the front cover that I will make, as my
background will be on a specific topic, and so I know where to place off topic
subjects on the magazine.
17. This is from the website wix. I've done a new York themed website. For
the top banner, I added a new York skyline with the title in a dark font
and white outlining. This is so that it is clear from the bright background,
and the white outline, stops it from blending with it. The slogan is on a
separate white banner. This is so that you can read that separately to the
name of the city. I had the buttons placed at the top, and given them a
white and black theme. Its on the top, so that it isn’t interfering with the
different pages, and the black and white theme fits with the logo. On the
home page, I’ve included a bunch of pictures of new York, as an
introduction to what the website is about. There is no information yet, as
that is all on another page. It just shows you an idea of New York. After
that, I moved on to the what's new page. I got some recent information
about the subway in new York, and put it in the article. The background
of the website is a full black and white view of new York. The black and
white image, stops you from getting distracted from the article, as
colours aren’t showing. I put in an extra image for the article. This is so
that it doesn’t look like an essay.
Good
Wix was good for making the website looking the way you want it to, as I
was deleting banners, that weren’t needed, and I was able to add
banners and text anywhere I wanted.
Bad
Its quite hard to move things about, and cleaning it. The issue is that, the
original layout is already there, and you need to delete everything before
you get started, or your going to make a mess during production.
18. This website creator was from word press. The theme of the website is a movie
review one. For the top banner, I got a picture of movie reel, to go with the film
theme. The headings were a bold font, in order to stand out, and look more
important to the other text. The home page includes an article to start off what the
website is about. It shows information about Incredibles 2. added a picture from the
trailer, to show what the film will potentially look like. The top picture of the article is
the logo for the new film. This is to make the article look more exiting, as I'm showing
proof that there is a second one. I have a grey backdrop, to go with the dark banner,
and it really puts your focus on the images that the website show., as there is
nothing to focus on in the background The second page is a new releases page. It
consists off other images of different movie covers. Rather than just writing the name
of the film, the cover interests the audience, as it’s a preview of what the film has to
show.
Good
The good thing about this website, is that it is simple to construct. The reason inn
because, the pre article didn’t require a lot of deleting, as there wasn’t a lot of text
boxes or layers before, and everything is laid out specifically for you to work on.
Bad
The bad thing about this website would be that you are limited with creativeness of
the website. You cant choose your own background, it has to be a single colour. You
cant customise the layout, to move things anywhere you want, as everything is fixed
and set for you.
19. Strengths
The first strength which I had with making the websites would be the creative side of the website. I was good at making decisions in
how the website should look with the given theme. The new York one being the black and white colored backdrop that doesn’t glow
to put you off, but shows you a lot of detail, and the movie one being the gray backdrop, to focus your attention on the images. Also,
I was good with the decisions I had made with adding pictures. For the new York website, it would be with the home page. The
whole page is a gather of images worked with the home page, as it gave an introduction of what to expect. For the movie website, it
would be the Incredibles article, and the new releases page. With the Incredibles article, it has the logo on top, to get you exited,
and to re live your childhood (if you grew up with it).the new releases page shows the frontage of the movie cover, to give you a
taste of what the film looks like.
Weakness
The weakness which I had with making the websites would be editing them. With the new York website, I struggled with placing
certain items. The reason is because I never deleted all of the unwanted columns before editing, so It was hard put what I want in
the website, as there were so many irrelevant boxes in the way. With the movie website, It would be placing things where I want
them to be, as everything was set the way it is on word press, so I couldn’t move the logo, or the headings etc. also, I struggled
with the text of the website. I struggled with organizing and placing them, as I struggled with choosing the right font to fit with the
theme of the websites.
What you’ve learnt, and how that affects next time.
The thing which I have learnt from making the website, it would be introducing the website. I've leant that the home page needs to
stand out, compared from the rest of the website, so it needs to include a “front cover” feel to it, like the new York website has all of
the pictures from the city, to show what the city looks like. This will be useful to my website, as I may think about leaving the home
page as an image of something to do with the theme of movies. I also learnt about laying out my work, in a way to interest the
reader. I need to include images, to stop the work from looking like an essay. I will need to consider this in my website, by including
more imagery in the pages, to show examples of what is being said.

22. This is an idea of what I want my front cover to look like. I have the
idea of there being a split image, showing the light and dark side. I
want rays face to be on the left, and kylo's on the right. Both of their
lightsaber's will split the screen in the middle to separate the two
sides. This shows the separation of the two sides, showing the bad
and the good of the film in one picture. Beneath it will have the title of
the film, and there will be other sub articles on the left and the right.
Its placed side to side, as that is how we read, left to right, so it will
make reading the front cover easier. Beneath the last Jedi title, it will
read “where the dark side is powerful. This is a hint that the article will
read how bad the film is. There is a circle pop up beneath the article,
to grab your attention after reading. It is a competition like article, to
draw you in. The circle surrounding the article makes it stand out to
the rest, so that your attention is grabbed.
23. The image for the magazines will be the
background of the front cover. The idea is for
the main story of the magazine to be the
background to gain the most attention to the
reader. The plan is for the image to be split ,
with rays face on the right, and kylo’s face on
the left. The two lightsaber will meet in the
middle to separate the image. For the front
cover images, I will be getting the image for
the front cover will be from Google images. I
will get different images based from the film,
and put it into one image. For example, a
picture of ray, kylo, and the lightsaber But I will
be editing them on Photoshop to make it my
own work, and into one new picture.

Idea 2
24. For the double page spread, there will be one large image on the
left, and there will be scattered images on the right page. The
images on the right will all be star wars based, being dvd covers,
figurines posters, etc.. For the left image, it will be an image of me
holding a red and blue lightsaber. the way I will be getting my
images will be from photography. The images on the right page will
be photos from star wars books, and figurines that I have, I will also
be taking pictures from the original trilogy front covers. For the left
side of the double page spread, I will be taking a picture of me
holding two lightsaber’s. I will add a glow effect on the lightsaber’s
on Photoshop. I will cut out me, and place me on a star wars based
background, which I will get from Google images.

This is the diagram of what the links to the website will show when
accessed. The home page will show the banner, with the image of a
camera projecting the words “your honest film reviews”., with a glow
for the projection. There will also be a what's new “ link to start with
the main story on the website. The what's new page will show the
digital review of The last Jedi. And the buy posters page will feature
two different deco posters on different films. One being on back to
the future and possibly star wars. The way I will get the mood board
would be by taking a picture of a camera, and I will edit on the
background and projection on Photoshop. The what's new article will
have the front cover image without the other articles. The poster
page images will be home made deco art like images made on
Photoshop.
27. This is the style sheet for the work of the magazine and possibly the
website. The colour scheme will match the theme of the film. This is so
that the images matches the theme. For the website, I may consider
using the same theme, to show that star wars is the top story for the
website. For the font, I have selected three different fonts for the
product. For the master head, I've gone for a narrow but bold font. The
bold makes the font stand out and is more noticeable. For the text, I
went for a smooth and thin font. This is quite a modern looking, (as the
film is new), and it isn’t showy, not making the main information look
tacky on paper. Lastly, the heading. The font is far apart and thin. This
is a good font for the heading, as it doesn’t stand out as much as the
master head, but it doesn’t look as plain as the text font. The star wars
font will be used for the logo of the film. This will be used, as it looks
splitting to the original font, and so that the star wars theme is more
present in the magazine.
28. From the previous trial run, I've decided to use wix, as there is more
things you can do to the websites to make it stand out to my own
standards. With colour, I want to go for a grey and red style. Grey is
a safe colour to go with, as it’s a modern colour and makes anything
else stand out. The red is what makes the website look exiting, as it
stands for determination (to read the website). I couldn’t find some of
the same fonts that will be included in the magazine, so I found ones
that are either better or similar looking fonts to the magazine. The
sub headings will be in the font open sands. It looks similar to the
headings in the magazine, and is chosen, as it stands out, but
doesn’t stand out enough to look better than the heading. The Mini
heading is the font impact. This is a bold and clear font that works for
short headings, as the bold text makes it stand out for the long
headings which are thin.

34. what works well with the front cover? which bit appeals to you the most?
what could be improved?
The coloured light sabers in front of each character emphasizing good and evil looks good. The price of the magazine should be angled vertically and not
horizontally.
I like the scheme for the front cover the idea is good, but I think the low res images take away from the execution of the idea
The part of the front cover that appeals to me the most is the Star Wars light saber split. It illustrates the difference between good and evil within the film.
It could be improved by making the light saber slimmer which means you could have the facial split closer together.
The front cover looks really well composed, the bleeding of the header down into the page works well for leading the viewers eye. And I also like the split
down the middle, with the two lightsabers. But on the other hand the pricing is very strange, it would look better sat on top of the barcode, but the vertical
look doesn't work.
It looked really good, not far off something you'd see in the shops. If I was going to change something it would be the hair. what I mean is that Kylo's hair
seemed like Lego in places, I mean it didn't look quite right, I would recommend using the feather tool on Photoshop in order to fix this. I liked the divided
between the dark and the light, shown through Rey and Kylo, this I feel also embodies allot of the last Jedi, t works very well. I think the divide appeals to
me the most, the dynamic feel it gives is great.
I like it! I thing the font of the text is really good! its appropriate to the theme and appealing to the eye. The 'Win annual cinema tickets' needs to be more
obvious. the white stands out but the text doesn't, it looks out of place. The masthead is really good, the red stands out and fits in with the rest of the
pictures (which are really well edited) All of the information and cover lines are clear and you can read them easily. I like it.
I think that it is very good, not too much text but it gets across clearly what it is. I think though tat the price should be smaller as it looks too aggressive
I like the colours
35. DOES THE DOUBLE PAGE SPREADS LOOK FIT IN WITH THE WAY THE FRONT COVER LOOKS? WHICH BIT
DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THE DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD DO YOU LIKE? IS IT CREATIVE? WHAT WOULD YOU
IMPROVE?
The double page spread complements the front cover well. The held light sabers blue and red look effective and very creative. Larger fonts on the title
would be appreciated.
I think that the double page spread fits the idea of the front cover as there is a link between the red and blue lightsabers on the front and the two on the
double page spread.
It does fit in with the front cover look and the right hand page works well, it helps show of the nostalgic side of Star Wars. You could improve the left hand
side by adding more or increasing the image size on the page, it looks a bit spaced out.
The spread flows well with the cover, keeping the Star Wars theme throughout. Although it looks good, I think the huge block of text is very off putting.
Maybe try breaking it up a little more.
Yeah I think it works well with the front cover, it keeps with the dark vs the light theme. I like the side with the text on it, it came off as really professional ,
like something you can imagine seeing in a genuine magazine sold in shops. for the double page spread I wouldn't change a thing, it worked well just as I
was, but that's just me.
Cool! I like the red outline it joins the pages together and makes the designs flow more. The pages fit really well together, everything is feathered at the
edges which gives a good feel to it. Over all the design is good and I like the college on the right page.
The Last Jedi should be in capitals as it is a name however everything else is great
Yeah it shows lots of synergy
36. The website is very clear and easy to navigate and works well with the theme. The addition of more pictures to the site may make the site more
interesting.
I would say that everything on the website is easy to find and there is a specific layout that compliments the magazine.
The website works well, the buttons are functioning and the colours work well together. I particularly like the poster page.
I love the layout and overall design of the website, the colour scheme works well and it's all laid out nicely. However on the what's new page, the big
banners that have the Darkest Hour Review and Jumanji Reviews could link to something, because when clicked nothing happens. Also the social media
links could link to something other than Wik's Social media. I love the posters, but I feel the back to the future poster is lacking a quote like the rest. Also
all the prices should be the same, and maybe with more time you could make the links open up a bigger view of the posters. Overall great website
though.
Yes it was all easy to find and access, looked really professional, I liked the dark colour theme. I t was all laid out very well. I would change anything in
my opinion. it is really good.
Love it. Especially the posters!! they're really good. the website is really well designed and looks really professional. I really like it, lt's so good!
very good, simplistic but effective. if anything is bad it is slightly too dark
I like the site its very clean looking
is everything easy to find on the website. do you like the layout of the website? does the theme match up
with the magazine? what do you think about the layout? what is there to improve about the website

40. For my pre planning work, I did research on other magazines, and I made layout guides and colour schemes for my
work. For the research, I had researched five different magazine companies, so I had a wide range of what genre I
could go into. I decided to go down the film genre (based of empire). This helped me have an idea of what I could go
into, and research into, rather than sticking with one genre. Also there were different techniques which I had to look
into, for example the colour schemes, the images, the fonts used, the layout and the language the words are written. I
had found out that each magazine had their different content to fit in with the target audience. You could tell, from the
way everything is laid out, and the colour schemes used for each. By looking at each magazine, I had understood the
way they individually preached to their audience, from the font sizes and styles, the images places and the text layout
in order for the audience to be engaged to what is shown in front of them. This research helped me with planning, as
I was more confident in knowing how to lay out the work to breech the audience, as I knew about laying out the text
to have a comfortable read, the font style to blend in with the theme. I then moved on to the proposal, where I state
the target audience, and about the work I will be doing. The research helped me figure out who my target audience
was as firstly, my magazine was similar to one I looked up (based on the genre). So I could looked at its you gov
profile to find out some information on the audience to link to my magazine as they share the same them and genre.
The issue that I had with the audience would be finding out the personal information (sexuality and certain areas in
the uk would buy the magazine), as the information was hard to conclude why they would buy it, as I don’t know
about these peoples interests, as a gay person or strait person may be really interested in the magazines. In general,
the target audience helped me narrow down, and conclude who my audience is, so I know who I am talking to. For
task two, we also did a rational and a project concept and an evaluation. The rational was a recap of the strengths I
could bring into this project. This helped me list down my strengths so I'm reminded I can do certain things for the
project. The rational helped me conclude everything together in my project, so that I know everything about it. Oher
than the target audience, The last task before the planning was production practice work. For this, I had made a
random front cover, double page spread and two random websites and different website makers. This work helped
me practice using the software's, so I could be more prepared when using each one in the real work. With the
websites, it helped me decide on which website builder would be better for me, based on creativity and handling of
each one.
41. Strengths
My first strength with planning would be linking the theme types for each magazine. I found it easy
to understand the different layout ideas that each magazine is going for, as from the colour
scheme and font the front cover was showing. This showed to me what each font and colour links
with in terms of themes and genres. Also, I was good at finding the target audience for each
magazine. The reason is because I could find it on you Gov, which told me all of the information
on the audience for each magazine (gender, age etc.). And if I couldn't manage to find the
magazine on you Gov, I could easily assume based on what is shown inside of the magazine.
Lastly, I was good with would be the practice work evaluation. I state what I learnt in each one.
This is because I'm recapping to myself what tools I could bring into the magazine.
Weakness
My weakness with the research would firstly be figuring out some of the magazines intentions.
Although I eventually learnt about the individual layout, I struggled to figure out why this certain
colour or why this font was used, as I didn't understand what intentions they had in mind. Also, I
struggled to find my target audience. There were some bits I knew , like gender and age, but I
didn’t know where they lived, and why that area liked it. I struggled with that bit, as I don’t know
everyone's mind in that area that would read my magazine
Improvements
If I were to improve anything about my research, it would be the photography. I wish I would talk
more about why the certain image was used in the magazine, so I get a more clearer
understanding of the types of images that fit in with the magazine.
42. With actual planning, I had made a flat plan, and a colour scheme, for the magazine and the
website. With the flat plan, I did two initial ideas for all products, so that I could choose the
better idea. The flat plans helps me with structuring my film, as I leave all the simple information
on it of where I want everything to go on the real work. The issue I had with the flat plans would
be thinking how I could improve it with the second flat plan, as there wasn't enough information
to tell me what needs to be improved. The website web was made, so that I knew what every
page of the website was going to show. It didn’t really benefit me much, as I already knew what I
wanted, from the flat plan, but it was nice to have there as a reminder. For the style sheet, I
gathered colours that would fit with the magazine cover. I also gathered font samples to see
which fonts work the best. The font list helped me keep track of what I wanted, and also shows
a range of potential ideas for the font that would fit in the most with the magazine. The colour
scheme didn’t really help much, as the colours were founded on a star wars (the last Jedi)
poster, so I knew that I would go off track a bit from the colours, as the founded colours didn't
really match the poster very much. Lastly, I did a production schedule in order for me to have a
timetable for production. The production schedule didn't’t really help with timings I went overdue
some of them. But the production schedule more helped me for a checklist, as a reminder of
what to do.
43. Strengths
My first strength with planning would be the flat plans. I was good at laying out an idea of what I
want, and I was also good at talking in detail of what I want inside of the magazine, as I explain
where everything will be placed, and how I will be getting each image. Also, another strength would
be making the mood board. I was good at showing where my inspiration for my work comes from, by
getting an image that I like, and labelling the idea that will be inspiringly added to my work and
explaining what it would insert to my work.
Weakness
My weakness for planning firstly comes from the style sheet. I struggled to find the right colours that I
want, as the colour pickers choices from the last Jedi poster, kept choosing the colours that didn’t
match the poster as it was to light for what the poster is. Also, I don't believe the production schedule
worked for me. The reason is because making it was a guessing game, as I didn’t know when I was
going to finish the certain work at he certain time. So I don’t think it worked, as I never really thought
about looking at it during production.
Improvements
If I could improve my planning, it would be the style sheet for the magazine. I should have shown
colour tones, to show the variety of what colour will be used, rather than one block. Also, I would
improve the idea section. I should have done more sketch ups of the double page spread, to show a
rough idea of where I want everything to go, and the potential look I want.
44. In the front cover, I've wanted to base it mainly on star wars: the last Jedi . This is because that was the top story for the magazine. So to
base it of star wars, I needed to theme it of star wars. For the drop down banner, I intended on leaving it as a block, but it looked plain
and boring, so I gave it a bleed effect melting down the page. This effect is on the actual poster for the last Jedi, and the colour red is on
the original poster too. This added and blended with the theme of the last Jedi, and the bleeding effect reminded you of the fierce film it
was. The bleed effect worked, as someone who answered my survey. Said it leads the viewers eyes to it, showing it is exiting. I decided
to split the image with the good and the bad on separate sides, to show that the film involves the good and evil.. With this, I put the two
main characters on each side, to show more interest into the front cover as I'm involving the two characters rather than the others in the
film. I also used red and blue to separate the two sides, as blue represents the Jedi and the red represents the dark side. In the survey,
some surveyors did mention that they like the lightsaber split as it illustrates the split between good and evil. This shows to me that my
intention to show the good and evil split is understood by others, as the surveyors who looked at my work for the fist time have said that
they get what the split is. The issue with the split would be the cutting out. If you see, there is a slight white overlay, ruining the image, as
it doesn't blend in. For text, I intended on putting it above the image, but it was more visible below the bleeding effect. With The
language, I had included teaser at the bottom of the films name, saying that the review has the dark side powerful in it. This is a teaser
saying about how negative it is. I never added stars, as I wanted the audience to want to open the magazine for themselves to find out
the answer. In my opinion, this worked out, as you get questions to what the teaser could possibly mean. Nobody seemed to say
anything about what the sentence said though. The way the text is placed works well, I placed it at the bottom, to make space for the top
story and picture. Its the second thing you read after the last Jedi heading. It was placed side ways, so that it is read left to right, so there
is a sooth flow to locate every box. One person mentioned that the words are clear to read, showing my intentions worked. With the font,
I intended of choosing three different fonts that would fit its standards. A bold font for the title, as it needs the main attention, an unusual
and different looking font(that is skinny) to not overdo the title, but stand out for the sub headings, and basic thin fonts for the text to
comfortably read. The text Did end up working, as firstly it really stands out against the busy background, and fits in well with the theme,
as it looks different, but not too bold. Also in my survey, one person pointed out that they liked the font, as it was appealing to the eye.
This process that my intentions worked out, as it shows that the text is interesting to look at rather than uncomfortable and not working
out. The only thing which didn’t work out would be the Master head. The font fits in with the theme, as its sharp and exiting, but the look is
quite uncomfortable to look at, as it doesn’t blend in with the red backdrop or surroundings. Nobody pointed it out in the survey, but I
believe its uncomfortable to look at. And does my magazine address its audience? I say that my audience is socially conscience, and h
language fits in with that, as they question what it could man. I've also said that the magazine doesn’t target sexuality. I have proven this
by keeping relationship statuses out of the film. The only thing which didn’t fit with the target audience would be the price. I stated that it
would be for the upper class, as I was going to make the magazine more expensive, I’ve realised that £2.50 is a bit cheap for the upper
class, and affordable for the poor. I should have re thought of the price to £4.50, as something for the non wealthy would go out of their
way to buy.
45. Strength
My strength for making the front page would be the creativity. Basically, the creative skills I had worked to make this
work was the strong point, as the lightsaber split in the middle of the screen fades the cut, and the bleeding effect,
which was simply made by filling in a shape and smudging it to relate with The Last Jedi poster. Also, I was good at
making the lightsaber effect and laying out the text. With the lightsaber effect, I simply made two squares and added a
Gaussian blur to it, to make it glow. I then added a white box, but blurred it out and lowered the opacity to it. I found
the effect easy to construct, and I believe that it smoothens and separates the two separate images. With The text, I
found it easy to lay it out accurately, from the ruler tool. The line split in the middle helped me centre the text, and
break them apart to evenly space them.
Weakness
My First weakness with making the front cover, would be constructing the master head. I struggled to blend it in with
the red, as I didn’t really know how to make it fit with the background, whilst making it stand out. So I struggled with
the master head. I also struggled with cutting out the images. It was hard outline what I wanted to cut out, as the tool
kept overlaying other areas of the pictures, when I attempt to remove the background. This lead to complications with
the image, and for the kylo Ren image, there were some areas of the background that were left. Lastly, I struggled
with making the win announcement. I didn’t know what to do with it, as it looks plain. I should have taken a picture of a
cinema to put in the circle to make it more exiting.
Improvements
If I were to improve anything, I would firstly, blend the master head logo with the background. I should have added a
light grey outline of the logo, so that it separates the logo to the background, to make it more comfortable to look at.
Also, this isn’t something that needs improving but rather considering. I could have made the lightsabers look more
realistic. I could have added a bigger white glow in the middle of the cut, to make them look like real lightsabers. I also
should have put the lightsaber handles at the bottom, to show what they really meant to represent.
46. Similarities
The first similarity with the two magazines would firstly be the information layout. Both magazines have the
top story as the background and the other exclusive stories below. Empire has the background image, wit
the large title below it, showing it’s the top story. They have their teasing sentence below the text and in the
black, there is the other exclusives in the magazine. With post screen, they have the same layout, with the
exclusives far apart in their own space. Another similarity about the front cover would be the content on it.
They both have a competition offer in both to amuse the audience. Empire have a figurine offer, for a
collection figurine you can have. Whilst post screen, has an annual cinema pass, for you to use during the
whole year as a treat. Lastly, there aren't any sub images on the front cover.
Differences
The first difference with these two, magazines would firstly be the colour scheme of the two. Empire have a
blue colour scheme to symbolise the Jedi, as the image has one Jedi and he good character in it. The blue
symbolises the peace they want. Post screen goes for the red and blue split. This is so that the good and
bad is both presented in the front cover, to show you who they are in the film. Another difference would be
the the text size. Empire decides to make the heading larger than the master head, with the other
headings short, and in a different font. It still works, as the big font is only a thin font, which doesn’t look as
interesting as the master head. With Post screen, the headings are smaller than the logo, and the mini
articles have their own box. It still works, as it makes the master head look more important to the page.
47. For the double page spread, I wanted to have a huge display image on one side, and the information your looking for on the other. This was to
make the page look more interesting, so it didn’t look like a huge assignment. With the colour scheme, I wanted it to match the front cover, so I
stuck with the red, blue, black and white theme, to match the films theme. The colours are dark, to go with the dark ad tense theme the film has.
The First page colours are brighter than the rest, the lightsabers stood out against the dark . This made the image look more exiting and
appealing to look at, as the weapon is a cool object we all want, and its hard to ignore the neon shine over the dark background. The lightsabers
worked with the image, as it adds more excitement to the page, as it shows creativity to the page, rather than a random image from the film.
This was noticed by a surveyor, who mentioned the image looking effective and creative, which proves that the image works with the
surrounding. For the right hand side of the DPS, I went off the colour scheme a bit, as the majority of the page were images of star wars
souvenirs gathered together to make a large image. This was to give a scrap book feel, to remind you of the progress from the franchise and a
flashback to the posters available when the film came out. To fix the off putting colours, I put a black (low opacity) square over the image, so that
it blends in with the black surroundings, and doesn’t glow. I believe that it ended up working, as the different colours didn't ruin the colour accent
I was going with, and gave it a classy look. A surveyor did mention that it looks professional and like a real magazine. The opinion may not go in
too much depth, but it says that it looks professional, showing that it does work with the magazine. With the photography, the images were self
taken of me and objects/souvenirs to do with star wars. I thought that the objects would look more real and look like a scrap book, rather than a
bunch of high definition images of the internet. The image of me was so that I can firstly, show the critic, and secondly, to show me looking into
the red lightsaber (the dark side). I do believe the image works well, as it does secretly deliver the message. Even though no body seemed to
pick up on the message, I do believe that the image still works as the critics image. The only thing which I would improve is the image size. I
wish that I cold have made the image cover more of the page, to add to the blank space. The way the text is written is truthfully and I talk about
what they want. The audience would want to know about the film, and if its worth watching. For their answer to be revealed, I go trough with the
key bits of the film and talk about how it was. I leave out spoilers just in case. The text worked in places, as I'm stating facts. I do believe the
article is a bit biased as it mainly sticks with the negatives of the film, as I personally despised The Last Jedi. With the fonts, I had two main
fonts. The heading was the same as the headings in the front cover (to stick with the theme) and the writing was simple looking and smooth text.
The text works well, as you can tell which is the main text to put your attention to, and the article with the smooth font to have a comfortable
read. The fonts worked, as they firstly blended well with the surroundings, as they didn't take the centre stage of the double page spread. I never
got any criticism for the text, except the blocks looking boring. I do agree with the criticism, as I could have put it to justify mode, to make the
curve look less untidy. For the addressing, I needed do reach out to my target audience. In this case, I needed to reach out to the 25-30 age
rating, by adding in old star wars images, to remind them of the past (original trilogy), and I also wrote the article to make it not too complex
language and not to simple. The thing which I would like to improve on for the mode address would be to show more character images, to fit in
with the males, as they want to see something from the sci-fi film.
48. Strengths
My first strength which I had with the double page spread would firstly be the Layout of it. I was good at
putting everything together, as the majority of the images in in design were stuck together in Photoshop,
so there wasn't any need for me to re arrange little images. Also, I was good at sorting the issue with the
bright background, by adding a black faded square over it to darken the glow. Also, I was good at
designing the double page spread. The reason is because of the ideas that worked together, and the
originality that worked, for example, the red outline was simply made with a smudge tool effect to break it
apart. The left hand image was cleverly constructed, by using drop tools on the side of the images to
smoothen off the corners, and the use of the yellow text to represent the famous star wars crawl below it
worked, as it reminded you of star wars, and it gave you starting information.
Weakness
My first weakness would be cutting out the lightsaber image. As there was no dark backdrop with the
image, I struggle to get the cutting tool to highlight over the body, as it would go over or inline with
something else, making it harder to remove the background. Also, I did struggle to construct the
background image for the text. The first reason is because of cutting out the bright background was hard
as it blended with the object. Also, I struggled to lay it out, as I blindly did it because it wasn’t being
constructed with the text, so I didn’t really know if my image collage was too big or not.
Improvements
If I were to improve anything about my double page spread, it would firstly be the lightsaber image. I
would make it more bigger so that it is less hidden within the page. I would also ad a side drop to the text
background so that it blends in with the black backdrop.
49. Similarities
The first similarity with the two would be the frame on the outside. They both have a red
frame inside of the magazine. In empire, its around the image column, and in post screen,
its around the perimeter of the double page spread. I do believe I had the same intention
as empire when making this banner. This was so that the iconic red theme of the film is still
present, whilst there is other images and text that don't link with the theme. Also, another
similarity with the two double page spreads would be the half separation. They both have
the page split in two. Empire is horizontal, with the image on top, and the text at the
bottom. But post screen has the image on the left, and the text on the right. The image
works on empire, as its the first thing you look at when you first see the page (in order to
excite you about the film).
Differences
The difference with the two magazines would firstly be the images shown. They have
different styles of images presented. Empire has behind the scenes and an image from a
scene from the film. But post screen has the critic image (image of the critic) and star wars
souvenirs. The image style does work on empire, as its showing you exclusives of the new
film we are exited to watch. It also works with post screen, as it shows the past of star
wars, and originality of the magazine. Also, another difference would be the layout. Empire
has their text at the bottom, in 6 lines, whilst post screen has all of the information on one
page in two boxes. Both layouts work, as they are clear to read and work with the layout.
50. https://andreasmina33.wixsite.com/post-screen
For the website, I intended for it to have its own theme, rather than follow the magazines theme, as its not basing off star wars. With the
colour scheme, I intended on having grey and red (the grey was a safe use colour and makes the red stand out better. The red is an exiting
colour to look at, as it is the only available colour in the theme). Also, I made the home page darker to make it stand out more, as it’s the
welcoming page, so we want it to look intriguing. The other pages were more brighter, to have a calm feel, as it is just showing one thing. I
do believe the colour scheme worked, s it didn’t act as a distraction to the other parts of the page. This is because of the simple and flat
colours stuck in one area of the page(s). I got one comment saying the colour scheme works well together, and another saying that they like
the dark colour theme. This shows how effective the colour scheme is, as I'm getting compliments for how it works with the website. This is
probably because of how simple and exiting the colours look. I only got one criticism of the colour saying it is too dark. If I were to improve
on this criticism, I would make the logo or brighter to make it more grand. For the images, they were hand crafted on Photoshop. I Wanted
to make homemade images, to make the work and website seem more original. The photo used for the what's new page was a remake of
the magazine cover, but as a poster. This was so that the audiences attention was grabbed by the teasing picture of light and dark. For the
poster page, I intended on making Deco/minimalist art based on two films. I managed to do three to fill the page up more. The images work,
as it firstly shows that the website isn't based on star wars, and because the work grabs the audiences attention to buying, as its simply
presented work, that is recognisable. the only thing which someone pointed out would be links to make the images bigger to have a better
view of them. I Believe this improvement would make the audience focus on the images more. With the language, for starters, it’s the same
article fro the double page spread. But I do stick with the same writing style. I stick with factual and opinionated language, where I tease
people to click on pages and share my opinion on the last Jedi. If I had a different style of writing, It would confuse those who would have
read the magazine, as it wouldn’t fit their standards. For images and text. It varies per page depending on what presented. For the what ns
new page, I decided to put in only one image, so that the attention is focused on the words. I do think I could have added a couple more
images of behind the scenes to make the page a bit more interesting. For the poster page, I didn't have much text on it, so the attention
was focused on the image. I believe this worked, as so much text about the work is unnecessary, as the information is shown on the picture.
For the font, I wanted to match it with the magazine, to stick with the font accent and intentions for the magazines font. I couldn’t find the
font for the headings, so I found a similar looking one. I also wanted a title heading, so I got a bold font for the small amount of text to stand
out. This was effective, as the bold text made the short text apart of the website without it being the main feature. I used the same font for
the master head. This wasn’t effective, as it didn’t fully match the font, as there was no bold option, like the magazine has. I should have
made a separate banner on Photoshop, so that I could have made the logo the same way I did on the magazine so that it matched. For the
target audience, I would say it matches the male audience. The reason is because of the dark theme and the topic being mentioned. There
isn’t anything on the website mentioning non action based films . The same with the posters too, as they reach the male audience. The
same with sexuality, as the film description doesn’t mention or hint about any form of relationship statuses. The age range is the only thing
which doesn’t really match, as there isn’t any mention to old style films. I could have added an archive page of old reviews from old films.
51. Strengths
My first strength with the websites would firstly be making some of the images. The image I enjoyed making
was the posters. The reason is because of simplicity to put into it, and it coming out as minimalist work of
art. Also, it looks professional too, as there aren't any mistakes in it. Also, I was good at laying out the
pages. The pages never any issues when I was moving or adding things to each page, as I firstly deleted
the layout that came with the website. Plus, I was able to make everything look visible to the website,
when you first look at it, as the what's new page, pops up at the bottom, to revile itself as an option to look
at. The same with the what’s new page, as I placed the other links at the top, so you can see the other
options as well as the top story.
Weaknesses
The weakness I had with making the website would firstly be the top banner. I struggled with thinking about
how I could fill it up. It firstly looked plain, then I added a red square over the logo. The issue with that is
that it kept overlapping the logo, covering its glow. I then decided to highlight the text, bit that made the
phone app look odd, as it was spaces over each other, ruining the look. Also, I struggled with making the
slogan banner. The reason is because the quality of the camera firstly came out blurry. This made it hard
to link with the image, as the brightness of the camera never went with the theme of the flare image,
ruining the illusion.
Improvements
If I could improve anything about the website, it would firstly be the banner. I would add a pattern effect to
make it look more interesting, and to make it stand out to the rest of the page. Also, I would include more
images for the what's new page. This would boost the interest of the page, by showing pictures from the
photo shoots of the film, to make it look more exiting.
52. https://andreasmina33.wixsite.com/post-screen https://www.empireonline.com/
Similarities:
The first similarity with the websites would be the accessibility. Both websites have articles
which are easy to find. With empire, they have their menu bar, with suggestions from the
other pages articles in the home page, making it easier to know what is included in each one.
With Post screen, it has suggestions from the what's new page, and the tab bar at the top. In
the What's new page, both websites review film content. Empire gave it four stars, and tells
us if the questions we asked were answered in the film. Post screen gave it 2 stars and tells
us an explanation of why the review thinks this way. With the Shop of the website, both of the
websites have them. They both sell merchandise based of other movies. Empire sell
merchandise with iconic quotes or images based on different films. Whilst post screen have
Iconic posters with quotes and an image of something iconic to the film.
Difference:
The one clear difference with the two websites is that empire has more information on it.
There were more sections to empire, like TV shows and awards and live TV, which has
exclusive content. Where's post screen only focuses on reviews and merchandise. In reality, I
would have added more information, like behind the scenes exclusives, and what to come.
But I didn't have the time. Wit the menu bar, empire made the logo the home button. This is
quite confusing, as there is no direction to go back home. Also, the websites have different
layouts. Empire goes for the white theme, and post screen goes for dark theme. Post screen
is dark to give it an exiting look, as lack websites is an uncommon thing to find. I think that
empire went for a different intention with white, as white is a calm ad welcoming colour as it’s
so common.
53. Successfulness
I believe that my work was very successful, The reason is because I managed to follow my planning intentions that I pre made, and I
managed to not go overdue with any of my work. Also, I was good at explaining points I make about my work. This shows that I am
telling you why the specific thing is added to my work, and what inspired me to use it. Lastly, he outcome of the practical. The work
met my intentions and looked close to professional work (as a surveyor said).
What I could take for next time.
The things which I would like to take into the future would potentially be the use of Photoshop. Depending or not whether I choose
print, I would like to use Photoshop in some way, whether it would be making a poster for a film/ad game or using it for artistic skills in
the film/ad game. Also I would like to take the flat plans forward into the distant future. The reason is because it was simple to
construct, and helps and guides you in where to place the items that you want. I could also consider using wix for other projects. I
would like to use wix, as of the creativity available from it. Also, its good for home pages and other information, as you can include
banners or videos in the homepages , or background backdrops of your choice.
Improvements
If I could improve something for the future, it would be my planning. Next time, I want to have different tones of colour scheme, so
that I don't stick to one colour, and also I would like to consider doing more sketch ups next time a rough idea of what I want my work
to look like. Also, I would like to improve on my website creating. I want to consider using Photoshop more when designing the
website, so that I can get more creative with what I personally want the website to look like. Lastly, in the future, I want to improve my
cutting out skills. I need to consider using other tool that will cut out better, as the current tool over lays over the wrong area
sometimes.
