1. By doing the reaction paper about three different points of view from important
researchers, Vivian Cook, Diane Larsen – Freeman and Stephen Krashen, about
language acquisition I realized that as students we have to be aware of the
processes that affect it . I totally agree with Freeman’s point of view about people
learn language faster than any other thing, especially when we are children.
Children learn language easily than adults, for as sponges, children absorb
everything that they hear and see. Besides, another important thing that I learnt by
doing this essay is that we have to take into consideration our students’
necessities. As future teachers we have to pay attention to their abilities and also
the environment they are involve in order they communicate well with other people
inside and outside the classroom. Unfortunately, I have seen in my practice English
teachers who do not consider the necessities of their students; also, they come to
the classroom with any work prepared.
All the information of the texts makes me think that language acquisition is an
important process that needs a solid base, so we have the responsibility to teach
our students as best as we can. I would like to pay attention to their doubts,
abilities and what they are living once I am a teacher.
