Business Card.pptx

  1. 1. Business Card
  2. 2. After researching into business cards, I am now ready to make a start on mine. Not having a set idea yet, what I do know is I would like to interpretate my logo into the design as it is needed, but with a different style rather than copying and pasting the same design. Not saying I’m going to change the look of it, just maybe the colours and/or the design. To make a start though, I will take the original design and will go from there.
  3. 3. Inserting the logo design, the eye dropper tool has been used making the full card appear the same colour as the logos background. Considering the placement, the logo has been placed exactly on the right hand corner as if the arms are reaching into the card. Other placements will be attempted but I figured this would fit nicely for now.
  4. 4. Thinking about the title, I am not too sure on whether I should place the name of my business onto the card as it is already there within the logo. Or maybe I should head back into photoshop to create a copy only without the title there. Attempting to expand the size of the image to have the production title stand out more, in general I much prefer the size it was being smaller. Not wanting to have the title there twice, instead I will attempt having one the way it is, with another design with the text edited out of the logo. Assuming it is because of the production title not being shown off exactly, the card does look… empty. Fair enough it isn’t done yet, but having the required information placed already, there doesn’t look to be enough. I get that the card doesn’t need to be riddled with information, but still it just looks empty and maybe even boring.
  5. 5. Trying the change in title placement now, as mentioned I had gone back to photoshop all to remove the title and even add an extra line to the inside of the bowl giving it a little more detail. As for the text now, downloading the ‘Reenie Beanie’ font used originally, it turns out to upload fonts you must have access to canva pro. Looking into it, I found that they offer a thirty day free trial, and as I only need this one thing I have gone through with it and will be getting rid of the subscription as soon as I am done with this product. With it now uploaded, I can continue on.
  6. 6. Possibly sized up too much there, already I am finding myself happier with the layout compared to the last result. Sizing it down and adding the contact details, again there is still something off with the text. Placing the same font for the title over the rest of the text, I hoped that would fix it up a bit… but nope. Trying to add on to the text, the purpose to each link had been added to see if that would fix it up a bit.
  7. 7. The design itself here just looks completely plain. Going to scrap it completely, a new attempt will be made.
  8. 8. After trying to mess on a bit with the filter options provided by the website on being used and finding myself not to be a fan of them, it is becoming a debate on going ahead with the idea of switching the logo design up for the business card when I fell like now that the logo should appear the same. I’m fine with it not including the title inside the bowl, but that is the only change I feel is okay. As I work on the next layout, a border has been placed around this logo allowing more freedom with the actual business card.
  9. 9. Thinking about the 'left to right' design, a box has been formed with the text going to be placed along the right of the logo. It is... somewhat better with the text. But still, I'm not really big on this layout either.
  10. 10. On to the next idea, still placed in a square, the logo has been dragged into the middle of the card. Only slightly higher allowing the title to go below with the contact information going on the opposite side. Also, allowing the logo to stand out more, the red for the actual background has been lightened. Resulting better, especially with the two extra line placements. But the colour, the thick plain colour is what's bothering me. Although... I could get used to it? Not too sure with this design.
  11. 11. Taking a few attempts to find the right layout for the text on the back, as you can see, I tried having it all in the middle, the subtitle underlined and even adding the titles to each link along the left of them. In the end though, I had gone back to the first attempt but with an adjustment made to the sizes. Then to finish off the whole design, the two lines had been copied onto the back of the card lining up accurately.
  12. 12. Seeing how it would affect the design of this one, the background was changed from white to the lighter red used in the last prototype. And as I thought, the result is a lot better being more fitting. Making it hard for me to choose between this and the last one now starting to like both. Running out of ideas now, having a scroll through the existing layout designs I have managed to find this 'Borcelle' one which I will have a go at turning into my own.
  13. 13. Changing the icons to black now, I have found that I just don't like the icons being there. To fix that they shall be removed. Switching the colours from blue to red and white to black (forgetting the icons), all the details have been updated making them my own and this time even having my name on the card. And blow where my name is, is "student". With professional cards involving the holders name, they will usually have the job role placed underneath. And since the most I am is a student as of now, I just went with that.
  14. 14. Removing the icons and playing around with the entire placement some more, I am starting to dislike this prototype. Going to make a few more adjustments to the sizes, I will decide then whether I will be keeping this as a consideration. Better with the size adjustments and additional text, but definitely not a favourite.
  15. 15. Trying one more of the templates as I already have two that I am quite happy with and can't seem to think of any more original ideas. Targeting the background first, I am finding the colours to be hurting my eyes so this template might not have been the best idea. Before it is scrapped, the text will be changed to black as that could be all it is.
  16. 16. And just with those few adjustments of blackening the text, outlining the shapes and sizing up the logo, already the business card is looking ten times better. The icons were also removed as I didn't really like them. As for the text, with the placements they have been made to line down from one another whilst also slightly sections. Having the title at the top, the name cardholders name in the middle and finally the contact details further down.
  17. 17. Underlining the text sections has been an attempt but it just looks messy now. With six business cards made and creating only two I like the look of, I am finding it a bit strange the ones I had made from scratch are the preferable ones as I had thought basing off of a template would have gone down better. Apparently not but hey ho time to move on.
