ABOUT SPIDERS

2. Spiders are air breathing
invertebrates that have
eight legs .There are some
spiders that are venomous
but some are not.
What are spiders ?

3. •Spider habitats range from deserts to
rainforests to backyards and in our homes
in undisturbed areas.
•There are spiders that float ON the water,
such as fishing spiders, those that live
UNDER the water, such as diving bell
spiders,
• Spiders that live as parasites on the webs
of other spiders.
Habitat

4. •Almost all spiders are predators, and
most eat insects.
•They catch their prey in several ways
such as
• Some build a spider web
• Some use a thread of silk that
they throw at the insect.
Diet

5. Diet
•Some kinds of spiders hide in holes,
then run out and grab an insect that
walks by.
• Others will make web 'nets' to throw at
passing insects. Or they go out and
simply attack their prey.

because they climb
around and the ancestors
had eight legs
