1. Aims and Considerations sheet
ExistingProducts:
How many existing artefacts (posters, websites) do you feel you will need to look at?
For the existing artefacts I would have to look a numerous AD campaigns and posters and
websites of what is out there already out there for domestic abuse. As there are different
types of form of domestic abuse is so harsh it can be interrupted into different forms of it.
As I would feel best looking at different forms of this in different ways.
What kinds of artefacts are you expecting to look at?
The types of artefacts which I will be looking at domestic abuse to look specifically into ad
campaigns what they have done so far to attract the attention of how bad this is and how
it can happen to anyone. From young to old. As how it is trying to shock the audience of
how extreme this has got from the different campaign ads. Also by looking on websites
what they are doing to help this awful situation people can get out of it. Also by looking at
poster and leaflets about it.
What elements will you look at to help you with your research?
The specific things, which will help me with, this research domestic abuse is by using
personal stories, which have been featured, from online websites. I would want to look at
all the specific factors, which come across to the younger generation of children of how
they suffer with domestic abuse. Then going to research for older generation for women
and men as well how they suffer with it too.
Primary Research:
How many people would you hope to question as part of yourprimary research?
I would like to question a wide variety of people from women, children and men. As this
would give me a good influence of how each one has been affected by this abuse in
different forms of ways. So I would to question a wide variety of numbers of people. To
make it equal through out the question which what I will do with for women children and
men.
What methods will you use?
The methods which I will use is social groups where people can go in a circle and talk
about the similar things which has happened to them but also to others same age and
older and younger as well. Also I will use surveys as well because using this type of
method would be a good way to get more people to talk about it and what specifically
happened to them by being secretive to just them and also being anomies. Use of social
media so then they can only talk to me and no one else. As an easy access to talk to one
another.
Could there be issues in getting access to people affected by yourchosen social issue?
The chosen social which I want to undertake to make people to make more known and to
let people talk about it is domestic abuse. As this is a hard subject to talk about as most
people will go back in the past what has happened to them. As most of them would just
want to forget about it and move on. Also the other issue would be trying to discover
these types of people to talk to.
2. How will you know if your research has been successful?
The way I will know if my research has been successful fromgetting the results from
surveys that I will have brought out to the individual on the internet to access it. As their
will be results to show how many people have used it and also if they are female or male.
Also depending on what age they are.
Considerations:
Whymight you needto be sensitive whencarrying out research on social action issues?
I will have tobe carefullywhenIcarry outmy researchbecause Imay affecthow I have worded
thingssoI have to be particularlyfaironto them. Alsodon’twanttoforce people tospeaktheir
past if theydon’twishto,so have to be sensitive whenif theywishtoornot. This whyI needtobe
carefullyandsensitive tothe peopleItalkto.
Couldyou face any problemswhen trying to research social action issues?Ifso, is there a way to
overcome these?
The problemsthatwhichI couldface withdomesticviolence isissuesliketalkingaboutthe specific

aboutit to otherpeople, astheymaynot wantto talkabout itto others.Astheymay wantto

What ethical considerationsmight you needto think about?
For domesticviolence, Iwouldneedtomake sure that everyone if happytotake part withinthis
awful subjecttotalkaboutbut theyneedtobe happyto talkaboutto others. Making sure your
careful aroundthese people aswhatyoutalkaboutand alsoaround to the youngergeneration. So,
to use appropriate imagesandtext, alsobyusingthe correct information.
How could social, personal and political issuesaffectyour research?
