3. BLOGGER
The first media technology
I used was blogger, I used
this application in order to
show my progress of
creating my products. It is
easy to use and produces
an understandable blog
which organises my work
in a neat manner.
I use this technology
throughout all of the
stages of the creation of
my products to show how
my products develop and
how my initial ideas are
transformed.
Since last year, my blog for my A2
media has been much more
organised as I have more labels
which help to divide up my work in
order to find specific blogs. I also
have more blog posts this year as I
am experienced into what I need to
research and have posts on how
specific research has helped me to
progress and make decisions about
my products.
4. FACEBOOK
Similar to AS media, I also created
an A2 media Facebook page.
However the target audience of my
magazine was completely different.
The Facebook page is to get
feedback and ideas from my target
audience and ask their opinions of
certain elements of my products.
This media technology specifically
helped in the Research and
Planning stages of my course work.
This page helped me to research
into the price, colour, image, content
and layout of my magazine,
therefore it was essential in helping
me.
I felt that I used the facebook
page more this year and actually
considered my target audiences
opinions, rather than just going
with what I personally preferred.
Facebook is the perfect
technology as you can creates
polls, add images and receive
comments which all help to
finalise ideas for my products.
5. INSTAGRAM
Instagram is a media
technology that I did not
need throughout my AS year
of media. However this year
I used Instagram in the
research and planning
stage. This helped me
research into the interests of
my target audience and add
images into my reader
profiles.
I was able to find popular
locations around the north east in
which my target audience likes to
visit. I was also able to research
into popular interests, shops and
colours my target audience liked,
therefore I can include some of
these elements within my
magazine.
6. PHOTO SHOP
My photo shop skills have
hugely improved this year as I
have much more experience
with different tools now.
This media technology was
mostly used throughout the
construction and reaction stage,
as I was able to edit photos and
add other elements, such as the
mast head and other important
conventions.
I also used font from photo shop
this year throughout my products. I
felt that this was more sufficient and
I also found the perfect font on this
application. Therefore I would not
be able to make my products as no
other media technology enables me
to edit and construct images and
text so well.
7. MICROSOFT WORD
I use Microsoft word throughout the
research and planning stages in
order for me to create surveys and
questionnaires ,to find out specific
elements from my target audience.
Microsoft word is a simple
application that is perfect when
creating documents for my target
audience. Since I have used this
throughout many years, I am
confident on this application
meaning I an quickly and easily
produce the documents I want to
create.
8. POWERPOINT
PowerPoint is one of the applications
that I have used constantly throughout
my A2 course work. This is due to
PowerPoint being perfect to compare
different elements throughout slides,
produce a presentation on a specific
topic or show progress of work.
I mostly used this media technology
throughout the research and planning
stage as I was able to show a wide
selection of magazines and compare
them on different slides.
This is another application I
am very familiar with,
meaning I am able to use this
media technology
professional and accurately.
9. MICROSOFT EXCEL
This is a media technology that
I did not use last year, showing
I have progressed my skills
throughout the Microsoft
application, in order to create
charts of my target audience
results.
As I carried out more target
audience research this year, I
thought it was important to
show the results in many
different ways.
Therefore I used excel in order
to create charts to compare
results in the research and
planning stage.
These charts helped me to
identity the choice the majority
agreed with, in order for me to
follow through with their
preferences. This media
application really helped me
into comparing which element
to include throughout my
magazine.
10. PREZZI
Prezzi is another application I am
not confident and experience with
due to becoming familiar with it in
my AS year of media.
This is another good way in able to
present findings of some research,
or to help explore a specific topic.
This is a more interesting and
unique way of presenting
something instead of PowerPoint.
Therefore I used Prezi a lot
throughout the Research and
Planning stage as it helped me to
compare different magazines based
on region and genre.
11. CANVA
Canva is a site that I recently
discovered when exploring the internet
for unique presentation technologies.
This application is amazing in helping
you produce a creative and interesting
presentation which allows you to add
objects, images and text.
I used this during my evaluation stage
the most as I felt it would help me
justify the progress of my products in
an interesting format.
12. WIX
Coming into A2 media, WIX was a media
technology I have never used before. I used
this throughout the construction stage as I
created my webpage with this application. It
helped me to find a layout which matched my
magazine as there was tonnes to chose from.
As well as allowing loads of different
elements which allowed me to make my
website personal, such as my own colour
scheme, logo, navigation bar, blogs, articles
and images.
13. DSLR CAMERAS
I have progressed a lot since last
years media project, since last
year I used an Iphone to capture
my images. However this year I
was able to capture better quality
images due to using a professional
camera.
I also had better use of the flash,
and was able to edit my images
better as there was a clearer
image when I zoomed in.
Using a camera rather than a
phone really helped me throughout
the construction stage as I was
able to therefore produce more
professional products.
14. PINTEREST
I used Pintrest throughout the
research and planning stage, as I
was able to type in related words to
my genre and region, in order to
find other relatable interests.
This is not something that I
considered the previous year,
therefore showing that I am
becoming more open minded into
looking for a range of different
solutions to find topics that relate to
my target audience.
15. SLIDE SHARE
Slide share was a media technology
I used in order to produce an
embedded copy of my PowerPoints.
This then meant I was able to put
my PowerPoints on my blog in order
to show the progress of creating my
products. I used this throughout the
research and planning stages to
help show my working and
comparing of products.
16. PADLET
Padlet is an interesting media
technology which differentiates
from all other applications I have
used. It is best for elements
which include a mass amount of
writing as it divides the writing up
into different elements. This is
why I used this media technology
throughout the evaluation stage
as it helped me to deliver my
answer in an unusual way.
17. PHOTO STUDIO
Throughout my construction stage I used the
photo studio to help me capture professional
photographs.
In AS media, I used a smaller studio with no
professional lighting, therefore my skills have
improved due to using a range of different
lighting throughout this years photo shoot.
This helped me capture a range of different
images which would give me a lot of options
to chose from in order to find the perfect
image for each product.
This media technology helped me the most
due to the image being one of the main
conventions throughout my product, therefore
the use of the professional studio and
lighting, helped reflect the professionalism
throughout my products.
