Released was an
operating system based
on MS-DOS was the
GRiDPad. It was very
succesful and was
considered the first
consumer directed
tablet.
1991
A device called the
Momenta Pentop was
released.

Windows released
Windows for Pen
Computing. This
software includes an on
screen keyboard and a
stylus.
1993
The Newton was
released. It was a
person digital assistant
created by Apple Inc. It
can still be bought
online today although it
was discontinued in
1998.
1997
The Palm Pilot was
released by Palm Inc. It
ran on 2 AAA batteries
and could cost a couple
hundred depending on
whether it was the
Professional or
Personal.
4. 2007
Touch technology is
created by FingerWorks
and they come out with
the Apple iPhone. A
popular device that later
becomes a series.
2008
A second MultiTouch
tablet is released by HP
called the HP Touch
Smart 2. It has a 22 inch
touchscreen display and
piano black finish.
2010
The Nintendo DS Lite
was released. This is a
portable game console
that includes a stylus
and microphone.

The Samsung Galaxy
Note S Pen was
released. This device is
an android smartphone
device.
2012
The iPad 4 was
released. This is part of
the iPad series created
by Apple.
2013
Surface Windows 8 Pro
Tablets have been
released. They’re just
as strong as a laptop
but much more
expensive than a
regular tablet.
