Abstract: Building management system which in Iran is called smart
home is a new service product and technology, which is created by
installing electronic devices in the building. A group of coordinated
hardware and software devices are necessary to create a building
management system. These devices are installed to monitor and control
various buildings such as houses, office buildings, hospitals, shopping
centers, industrial units, food and medicine storages, etc. The building
management system products are designed and produced with the goal of
efficient use of time, energy, resources and reduction of human errors
involved in managing buildings and resources. The building management
systems are normally used to control air conditioning, lights, security and
other building related tasks. In this article we introduce a new method of
creating an expandable base system for building management systems
which is completely designed and manufactured in Iran and has the
potential to be a rival for the similar foreign products. We will also
introduce a few samples of application software and their hardware
counterparts which are designed to replace the old manual systems which
are currently used in the industry and increase their efficiency.
