There is not much difference between Indian & Pakistani
rupee.
4. On 5th march 2009, a contest was
announced.
Mr.Pranab Mukherjee - “New Indian rupee
symbol should reflect our Indian culture
And ethos.”
Out of 3000 designs , 5 were shortlisted.
6. New symbol of rupee is given by
Mr. Udaya Kumar.
He will be awarded with 2.5 lakh.
The rupee symbol is a perfect blend
of roman R and the devanagari ra.
Parallel lines at the top makes an
allusion of Indian tri-colour
flag and also symbolizes the sign
of equality.
7. The symbol will be adopted locally-6 months & globally-18
to 24 months.
It is the 5th currency in the world to have a global
recognition, other 4 currencies are :
It will be adopted in unicode standard
and major scripts.
It will not be printed on currency notes
and coins but will feature on Computer
keyboards.

8. The symbol is intended
as a statement of
aspiration and seems
far away from the truth.
