SHODHO
bringing work to women
Shodho
 “Shodho”, In English, means “to search”.
 Our Focus is on employing women that are capable enough to
work but don’t because they aren’t aware of the opportunities
or don’t have enough skills.
 We aim to be the missing link between women and the
enterprises willing to employ them.
 It’s a job portal where women can not only find jobs but also
training with proper mentorship and guidance at minimal cost.
Why शोधो?
Every woman is capable of working and has a huge potential
inside of her that sometimes, even a man cannot match. These
women can work and are willing to work but the only source that
they rely on for work are the “middle-men” and the word of mouth
that goes around in the village.
Hence, it can be said that the basic problem with capable
women, as of now, happens to be lack of awareness.
Shodho aims to create awareness about not just one job here or
there but about all the jobs available in the city .
User Experience ?
 When the user, a woman, signs up on the website , she makes an
account in which her skills such as tailoring, cooking etc. will be
listed.
 She finds a job feed on the home page according to the skills
listed.
 She then undergoes a training course that trains her well enough
to work in the enterprise she wishes to work in.(If the field of her
choice demands training)
 She finishes the training, gets certified and starts working.
 After the work duration gets over, she gets paid.
What’s unique about us?
 At “shodho” they get a list of
ALL the jobs available with fair
pays.
 They will have mentors to
guide them personally
 They will be given skill
training from certified
institutes.
 A user will get an environment
not just for employment but
also to grow and develop
personally and professionally.
What do they get?
• Every woman at home wants to
contribute in some way or the other to
the family income.
• They can be self sufficient and
independent.
• They don’t need to ask their friends
about jobs or take any risk by working
at an unknown place.
• They get freedom to choose work and
working hours that they feel
comfortable in.
• They feel proud , respected and self
dependent.
So, our main aim ?
 The main aim is to streamline the complete process involved in
this daily small-scale temporary jobs and remove commissions
from between to help everyone get the most out of it.
 We want to make a housewife, both urban and rural, feel proud
and self dependent.
 We want the money that enterprise pay, reach directly to the
working woman.
 Above all what we want it to be a is happy and easy experience.
About Enterprises ?
 Enterprises, for now will be those who provide
small scale jobs of stitching, Assembling toys etc.
 Each enterprise will have a account and a profile
page with their complete details.
 They can post a job themselves or ask for our
help to do the same.
 They will have a right to reject worker but will be
asked to disclose reason to us .
What do Enterprise owners get ?
 They don’t have to find women for the
job, in fact, women come to them.
 They get their job done by people who
love that job.
 With our help they can feel confident
and can cut the middle man who take
loads of commission.
 They can display their price and leave
all the other tension involved of finding
the people, to us.
How will we start? (this changes to the content
of the report)
 At first we’ll focus on only one
rural/backward area. The women there
will fill out offline forms and an account
will be created for them by the team.
 We’ll approach a few enterprises or gruh-
udhyogs that are looking for women to
work.
 The women will be given jobs in those
enterprises or small scale companies that
need them.
 We will then expand to other villages and
collaborate with NGOs for training.
Future ?
 We will always try to create a working environment for women in
a the skill they are best at.
 Each women is special and skilled in something, once they
figure out that skill, they can get more high-paying jobs.
 We want to have bigger industries invest in us to get their
specialized and target work done.
 We want not only Housewives but absolutely any girl who is
interested in learning and working to come to our portal for
training and employment.
Is it Possible ?
 We can tell you many things
that may or may not convince
you or I can quote a famous
say,
 “Nothing is possible, until you
get up and start working for it.”
 This is our dream, our hope,
our passion and our hard
work.
 Yes, this is possible, if not,
we’ll make it possible.
How was शोधो born?
 It all started with winning a hackathon organized by Radiance at
GIC in the month of april. This idea was a result of brain storming on
the topic of women.
 Later, we got more support for the development of the same when
we won another hackathon three weeks later by digital india. This
one was a 36 hr hackathon where the idea took an even more solid
form.
 The website was built overnight in 7 hours as a part of the same.
We now have started work on the idea with offline and online research
to support the same.
We hope this idea takes shape and turns out to be a fruitful project for
the women of India so that they can be self-sustained.
