2. WHO ARE WE ?
2
TEAM REVANTA
• Starting off with the meaning of the name, RIG VEDA mentions Revanta as the youngest son of Hindu
deity, the sun god – SURYA.
• Just like the name, we take pride in calling ourselves an official team of NIT JAMSHEDPUR, which
designs solar vehicles. After starting in 2009 as a new born, today the team is 14 years old and there
has clearly been no looking back as these years have brought many achievements for the team.
WHAT WE AIM FOR?
• Designing a high efficiency mileage hybrid electric vehicle with minimal carbon footprint.

4. INTRODUCTION OF ARDUINO
4
TEAM REVANTA
Arduino is an open-source hardware and software company, project, and user community that designs
and manufactures single-board microcontrollers and microcontroller kits for building digital devices.
5. SOME BASIC TERMS
5
TEAM REVANTA
Open source-The term open source refers to something people can modify and
share because its design is publicly accessible
User community-Arduino community is made up of everyone from hobbyists and
students to designers and engineers all across the world.
Microcontroller-A microcontroller is a compact integrated circuit designed to
govern a specific operation in an embedded system. A typical microcontroller
includes a processor, memory and input/output (I/O) peripherals on a single chip.
A microprocessor is a controlling unit of a micro-computer wrapped inside a small chip.
It performs Arithmetic Logical Unit (ALU) operations and communicates with the other
devices connected with it.

9. ◆ Sensor-A device that receives a
stimulus and responds with an
electrical signal. A special type
of transducer, that converts
one type of energy into another.
◆ Actuators- Device that turns
electrical energy into motion. It
is responsible for moving and
controlling a mechanism.
