• With the growing number of sources of information about homes for sale, buyers have many
opportunities to find the home that they ultimately purchase.
• For example, 34 percent of recent buyers found the home they purchased through their real estate
agent, unchanged from 2007.
• An additional 32 percent of buyers found their home on the Internet, up from 29 percent in 2007
and 11 percent five years ago.
• Despite the increasing role of the Internet, 15 percent of buyers reported that they found the home
they purchased through a yard sign or open house sign.
