Ontario is Canada's top immigration destination. Through the Ontario Candidates Program (PNP), called the Ontario Immigrant Candidates Program (OINP), immigrants can receive provincial candidates who can apply for permanent residency. OINP was established in 2007 to address skill shortages in certain areas and provide easier investment opportunities for the state. Her 2022 quota for the state is 9,750 nominations. An OINP immigration flow consists of a basic flow and an extended flow. Enhanced Streams works with the federal government's Express Entry system, which manages permanent residency applications through Canada's three major economy-class immigration programs. The Express Entry system will score candidates based on a comprehensive ranking system "CRS" and the highest ranking candidates will be invited to apply for permanent residency. If the candidate is nominated from an enhanced state program, they will receive an additional 600 points, essentially guaranteeing an Invitation to Permanent Residency (ITA). Conversely, Basic Streams are not for Express Entry, so candidates apply directly to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
