I will have earned my place in an organization
that provides a stable income with good

I can be a successful entrepreneur.
8. Goals for 10 years from now:

Putting God first in all things;
Always doing my best;

11.
12. This is my third year playing varsity softball for
Ohio Valley University.
As a sophomore/junior during the 2013-14
season, I was named Academic All-
Conference for maintaining a high GPA while
playing softball.
Achieving this required a lot of hard work and
dedication to both softball and academic work.
13. What is the SAAC?
It is the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
What do we do?
The SAAC acts as an intermediary between the
athletes at OVU and the administration; both
athletic and academic when necessary.
14. What is my role?
I am a representative for the softball team, and
am also the secretary.
I am also in charge of the sub-group for Make-
A-Wish, the GMAC’s charity.
15. What does it entail?
I take the minutes at every meeting as
secretary.
I also have to organize efforts to raise money to
donate to Make-A-Wish by working with my
group.
16. I have been a tutor at Ohio Valley University
for two years.
Why tutor?
God has blessed me and I like to help others
with the abilities I have been given so that my
peers are better equipped to succeed.
17. Where is my focus?
I do tutor most lower-level classes, as well as
general education requirements. However,
most of my focus is on study tables for athletes.
Study tables allow me to be available to any
athlete that may need help during certain,
focused hours each week.
18. During my freshman-junior semesters, I was a
member of the Theta social club.
As part of Theta, I played intramurals and
participated in community service projects, like
the Red Cross blood drive that our club
sponsored.
My senior year, I switched social clubs and
became part of the Sigma family.
As part of Sigma, I also participated in intramurals
and participated in community service.
19. Why social clubs?
Being a part of social clubs at OVU has allowed
me to interact with more people than I would
otherwise. I have met people that I would not
normally have met or sought out, and it has really
broadened my horizons.
Being part of a social club has allowed me to
really be a part of something meaningful that is
outside of my sport, and has been a true blessing.
20.
21. The Career Mastery experience provided me the
opportunity to go to Washington, D.C. and shadow
a business professional for a day. It was an
opportunity to learn about how professionals from
different places and different cultures interact
successfully.
The most valuable tools that I used, and am still
using is the concept of a mind map and the
importance of knowing yourself.
22. The honors leadership course really brought to
light the importance of knowing yourself and
how you lead.
Being able to be a true leader is a characteristic
that will allow me to be a successful manager
and entrepreneur.
The course also highlighted the necessity of
being able to recognize positive and/or
negative leadership traits in others.
23. Business finance is a key course that all business
majors need to take.
After completing the course, I am more aware of
the importance of researching any and all
investments both personal and organizational.
I also have a better handle on what I need to
look at in terms of what analyses are the most
reliable.
24. Operations management is another area of
business that is critical to most, if not all, business
managers.
Operations management focuses on
continuously improving processes to operate
more efficiently and effectively.
I know that having a firm foundation in
operations management will give me a
competitive advantage in the business world.
25. This course has helped me to better
understand the importance of information
systems as a manager.
It has also helped me understand how
information systems and information
technology have evolved over the years into
the database management systems that
managers all over the world use every single
day.
26.
27. In the course, a research paper was assigned,
and I chose to do mine on bonds and mutual
funds.
I am interested in investing, and from my research I
found that investing in a mutual fund is the best
investment option for me.
28. In this course, I did a book review of on C.S.
Lewis’s “A Grief Observed.”
I chose “A Grief Observed” because
everyone deals with grief at some point in life,
and I found it to be a good guide to dealing
with grief from a spiritual standpoint.
29. I was able to take part in the People’s Bank
Competition this year.
It was a great experience, and our team
secured second place defeating two teams
from Ohio State and a team from Marshall
University.
30. In this course, I learned the many aspects of
business ethics, and the importance of staying
true to that code of ethics.
I also did a project on the Virtuous Woman of
Proverbs 31. The Virtuous Woman was a successful
businesswoman in a time when women typically
did not work. She was able to own a business and
be successful because she depended on God
and had a firm code of ethics.
31. Capsim Business Simulator
This simulation provided valuable insight into the
decisions that must be made in a business, and
allowed me to see first hand the results of making
certain decisions.
Westlake Bowling Lanes case study.
It was an opportunity to put everything I have
learned together in order to analyze a company
and provide my recommendations.
32.
33. Assistant Softball Coach
2013-Present
Volunteer
Tee Ball 2014
In both instances, I helped the younger
players gain a good foundation in the
fundamentals of catching, throwing, and
fielding.
34. On February 21 and 22, 2015, the OVU softball
team volunteered at the Latrobe Street
Mission.
It was a great opportunity to help those in
need, and to realize just how blessed we all
are.
35. 2015 Fighting Scots Softball Camp, 2-28-
15.
Roughly 30 girls from the community
participated.
It was a great opportunity to share my
knowledge with younger girls to help
them grow into better players.
36.
37. High School
Ripley High School Ripley, WV
Graduated 4th in my class, with high honors
Mu Alpha Theta
Cumulative GPA of 4.2/4.0
38. College
Ohio Valley University
Business Administration Major, Bachelor’s
Degree—December 2015
Cumulative GPA of 3.96
Sigma Beta Delta, 2014-Present
Phi Beta Lambda
Dean’s List: Fall 2012, 2013, 2014; Spring 2013,
2014
39. The Career Mastery course offered me the
opportunity to see how people of different
cultures and backgrounds interact
successfully.
Before I graduate in December 2015, I will
take International Business in order to learn
how to interact with business people globally,
specifically in the area of international trade.
40. Sales Representative
Being a sales representative for Vector
Marketing provided me with valuable
experience in understanding how to be
profitable, as well as being able to sell myself
and my business.
41. Child Care Provider
Kinder Kare, LLC is a daycare center where I
have worked for almost a year. While working
there, I have gained an appreciation for what
it takes to be a small business owner. I have
also learned how to effectively interact with
disgruntled customers (parents).
Through Kinder Kare, I have been certified in
Safety/First Aid, and CPR.
42.
43. The technical skills I have developed will help
me to be as successful as I can be
throughout my entire career. These skills
include the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint; all of which are necessary in the
business world.
44.
45. Your resume is your “fingerprint” in the
business world; it is unique specifically to your
experiences.
I have worked with multiple professors to
“perfect” my resume in order to stand out
among my peers.
46. Your potential employers want to know what
kind of employee you will be, and what your
character is like, so they request letters of
recommendation for that insight.
Dr. Dan Blair
Peter Ianniciello MS, CPA
47. Some employers request transcripts, but I
have included mine because I plan on
furthering my education and earning my
MBA.
Graduate School
48.
49. I expected a “free-for-all” atmosphere in
which I would be tempted to not focus on
my studies.
I also expected my instructors to move
through the material faster than I could keep
up, and as a result to not thrive.
50. My experience has been the complete
opposite of what I expected.
For the most part, the atmosphere on campus
is more along the lines of “work first, play
later.”
My instructors have always worked to make
sure that my classmates and I understand the
information, as well as to ensure they are
available outside of class for help if we need
it.
51. My experience could not have been more
different than what I expected before
attending Ohio Valley University.
I expected indifference and to not make
many friends. What I experienced is a
community that is built upon helping others,
and I have built relationships that I know will
truly last a lifetime.
52. “All we have
to decide is
what to do
with the time
that is given
us.”
