2. Purpose was to isolate and study the enzyme protease much needed for pharmaceutical,
clinical and industrial research and usage, from an easily available bacterial source and to
study its entrapment in different gel supports for repeated use to help these industries with
protease availability and cost.
Outcome
Isolation and 16rRNA sequencing of a novel protease producing strain of Bacillus
subtilis KIBGE HAS, accession number EU819145.
Production, characterization and purification of a highly stable Ca++-Serine
dependent neutral cysteine protease.
Immobilization of protease in the most stable cost effective support showing an
increase in enzyme activity and decrease in its utilization.
