Oil Only Melt Blown Pads and Rolls come in a variety of weights and

Hazmat Mats and Rolls are used to absorb very aggressive fluids such
as acids and caustic fluids in addition to non-aggressive fluids. They
are yellow in color to denote hazmat or caution.
Sorbent Rail Mats are custom designed and are used to effectively

Loose Granular
Oil-Dri® Granular Clay absorbents are available in the traditional coarse
formula and the finer QuickSorb™ grind. Both are produced from the
same high-quality absorbent minerals and are effective on oils, coolants,
grease, water, and other liquid spills.
Solidifier Oil Solidifiers are composed of dry, high molecular weight
polymers that have a porous matrix and large oleophilic (strong affinity
for oil rather than water) surface area. Once in contact with oil, the oil so-
lidifies to form a physical bond with the oil.
Isolite for Soil Remediation
Isolite™ is a unique porous ceramic pellet used as a biocarrier for mi-
crobes. It serves to remediate contaminated soil/groundwater when in-
jected into man-made subsurface fractures.
8. Spill Kits
Marine Oil Spill Kits
Oil Spill Kits designed to respond to OPA 90 and IMO/MARPOL 73/78 regulations.
With these kits on board you are assured of fulfilling any safety and environmental regulation applicable globally.
There are several regulations circulating and in short they are:
Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (33 CFR Part 155) or OPA90 requires oil carrying vessels in U.S. waters to have oil spill clean
up equipment on board for on-deck spills.
Vessels with an overall length of 400 feet or less are required to be able to contain and remove on-deck spills of at
least 7 barrels (294 gallons; 1,100 litres).
Oil tankers and barges with an overall length of 400 feet or more have an increased requirement of being able to
clean up spills of 12 barrels (504 gallons; 1,900 litres).
Vessels carrying oil as secondary cargo must have a spill kit on board to contain and remove on-deck spills of at least
1.5 barrels ( = 63 Gallons = 238 Liters).
According to several IMO resolutions "all ships should have the capability to contain and clean up minor deck and over
side spills".
Regulation 26 of Annex I of MARPOL 73/78 requires that oil tankers of 150 tons gross tonnage or more and all ships of
400 tons gross tonnage or more carry an approved Shipboard Oil Pollution Plan (SOPEP).
The International Convention on Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Co-operation, 1990, also requires such a
plan for certain ships. These plans all includes an Oil Spill Response Kits on board.

Background of SPCC Spill Response Kit
In July 2002, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency amended the Oil Pollution Prevention regulation at Title 40 of the
Code of Federal Regulations, Part 112, (40 CFR 112).
Subparts A through C of the Oil Pollution Prevention regulation are often referred to as the “SPCC Rule” because they
describe the requirements for certain facilities to prepare, amend and implement Spill Prevention, Control and Counter-
measure (SPCC) Plans.
SPCC Plans are a cornerstone of EPA’s strategy to prevent oil spills from reaching our nation’s waters, and they ensure
that facilities put in place containment and other countermeasures that would prevent oil spills that could reach navigable
waters.
Under EPA’s Oil Pollution Prevention regulation, facilities must detail and implement spill prevention and control meas-
ures in their SPCC Plans.

12. ISOLITE
Porosity Control
Technologies for making porous products and controlling its
porosity bring in a great versatility of functions and high per-
formance to the ceramic fiber products.
This method is applied to the diatomaceous earth products
containing a large quantity of fossil shells with pores. Firebricks
or grains of the diatomaceous earth are fired at high tempera-
ture for water and oil absorbency, water retentivity, moisture
controllability, and thermal insulation efficiency. The porous
grains also work as a carrier for microbes and catalytic agents.
Remediation
Isolite™, a special porous ceramic pellet that is used as the preferred and very effective biocarrier
for microbes and serves as the proppant for the fractures. The Isolite™ is inoculated with microbes
and/or nutrients as it is pushed through the mixer by the hydraulic auger system with control of
both volume and pressure

25. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT
The Drain Guard is installed in a catch basin and is held in place by the drain’s grate.
Stormwater runoff enters the Drain Guard and is directed toward the pouch by a skirt made of a
non-woven polypropylene, needle-punched, geotextile material. This fabric filters the pollutants
from the water stream as it passes over and flows through the material.
Additionally, each Drain Guard is equipped with numerous "Filter Strips" made of "X-TEX", a
unique filter material made of recycled synthetic fibers. X-TEX is extremely effective in capturing
and removing hydrocarbons and other pollutants from stormwater.

Using innovative technology, the ROC BarrierTM is deployed at speeds of up to 54.7 kilometers
(34 miles) per hour1, over five times faster than conventional oil containment booms.

Overview
The detection of petroleum products, including crude oil, diesel/fuel oil, motor oil, lube oil, gasoline, food oils etc.
near the water surface is widely required in industrial and environmental applications.
Technique
The SpillWatch sensor is installed downward looking several meters above water level. The sensor technology is
based on fluorescence excitation and detection.
Action
In case of a spill, the SpillWatch provides an instant warning, enabling users to activate counter measures, e.g.
shutting off pumps or valves and notify personnel via a variety of interfaces and wireless options. SpillWatch sen-
sors can be used as stand-alone monitors or within a network of strategically mounted sensors interconnected by
the SpillMaster software.
29. NEW OIL IN WATER MONITORING BUOY
Compact and rugged buoy system is designed for short term moni-
toring (up to 24 months). The lightweight and low-cost buoy is easily
handled by one person in the field, weighing just 25kg, and being
only 60cm in diameter and 2.0m in overall length.
Detection of hydrocarbons in the water column is performed by a
submersible sensor. Sensors are available for both crude oil and
refined fuels, and are protected from collision damage within the ro-
bust central structure.

The system itself is powered by two 5W solar panels, and is equipped with battery backup, navigation and warning

30. THE ONLY CORER TO COLLECT AN UNDISTERBED SAMPLE
The range of multiple corers are simple, reliable corers for collecting multiple samples of virtually undisturbed sedi-
ment, including the sediment/water interface, and overlying supernatant water. A range of models is available to sam-
ple up to 12 cores in a single deployment.
