Steps Towards Positive Mental
Attitude (PMA)

Step to Making life Happier
1. Take possession of your own mind with conviction.
2. Keep your mind on the things you want and off the
things you don't want
3. Live the golden rule
4. Eliminate all negative thoughts by self inspection
5. Be Happy and make others happy too
6. Form a habit of tolerance
7. Give yourself positive suggestions
8. Use your power of prayer
9. Set goals
10. Study, think and plan on daily basis
Step One: Take possession of
your mind with conviction
1. I believe my mind is my own
2. I believe I can take possession of my
own mind
3. I believe I can direct and control my
emotions, moods, feelings, intellect,
tendencies, attitudes, passions and
habits with the intentions of
developing PMA
4. I will develop a positive mental
attitude.

resolution to success is more
important than any other one thing.’

Step two: Keep your mind on the things you
want and off the things you don't want
1. 'vision statements'- what are these?
2. 'A picture is worth a thousand
words'.
Step for visualization
– Make a list of three things you
want in life.
– Think of a way to show them
visually
– Put pictures of these where you
will see them every day

make us lose the good we might

Step three: Live the golden rule
Do for others as you would have
them do for you or vice versa, do not
do for others what you would not
have them do for you.
When you meet a man without a
smile, give him one of yours.
Think of three things you would like
people to do for you. Turn them
around. How can you do each of
them for some one else around you?

yourself, do not to others‘ by

Step four: Eliminate all negative
thoughts by self inspection
PMA teaches that negative thoughts are
product of past and if we want to develop a
PMA, we have to keep a check on our
negative thoughts.
Look at the list of negative thoughts at
start of each day and ask yourself: am I
still thinking about such thoughts I refuse
to let inside me?

Step five: Be happy and make
others happy too
Simple rules
• The best outcome that could
happen to my challenge is might
be.
2. This could happy. After all, its very
possible that could happen.
• Take a few minutes every day and
think about the goals you want to
achieve. Picture yourself as having
already achieved these objectives.

Step six: Form a habit of tolerance
Keep an open mind towards people and
try to like and accept people just as they
are instead of demanding or wishing that
they be as you want them to be.
Think of one person you have trouble
accepting and write that person's name.
Now ask yourself, if I did accept that
person just as he or she is, how would I
behave? What would I actually do?
Visualize your answer in concrete terms.
Then do it.
Step seven: Give yourself
positive suggestions
We become what we think about most of
the time.
There are three forms of control you may
exert over your mind:
o Suggestion,
o Self suggestion and
o Auto-suggestion.
PMA teaching suggests programming
ones mind on basis of NINO:
Nourishment in, nourishment out.
What your mind can conceive and
believe, you can achieve with PMA. by

Step eight: Use your power of prayer
When you pray, have faith and believe in
that which you ask for.
Don't tell your God how big your
problems are, but tell your problems how
big God is.
God knows what is better for us and at
what time should we be given the thing,
which we are asking.
'As in poetry, so in prayer, the whole
subject matter should be furnished by
the heart‘.

Step nine: Set Goals
Setting goals is one way to keep you
mind on the things you want and off the
things you don't want.
Starting point for achieving goals is
found in the six letter word DESIRE:
– Determine,
– Evaluate,
– Set,
– Identify, and
– Repeat Each day

Step ten: Study, think and plan daily
1. Think about your goals - With PMA
2. Inspect your attitudes - With PMA
3. Inspect your actions and your thinking
With PMA
4. Read inspirational, self-help action
material, even if it is only a paragraph,
page or chapter - With PMA
5. Take time to study, to think and to plan
obviously with PMA
Conclusion
The power of PMA is great. It can help anyone to achieve
wherever he or she wants to go. Where you go with PMA
is entirely up to you. But you can set a goal for yourself
and attain it by changing only one thing about your life -
Your Attitude to everyone and everything that you
encounter for better.

  • 4. Step two: Keep your mind on the things you want and off the things you don't want 1. 'vision statements'- what are these? 2. 'A picture is worth a thousand words'.   • 5. Step three: Live the golden rule Do for others as you would have them do for you or vice versa, do not do for others what you would not have them do for you. When you meet a man without a smile, give him one of yours. Think of three things you would like people to do for you. Turn them around. How can you do each of them for some one else around you? Step four: Eliminate all negative thoughts by self inspection PMA teaches that negative thoughts are product of past and if we want to develop a PMA, we have to keep a check on our negative thoughts. Look at the list of negative thoughts at start of each day and ask yourself: am I still thinking about such thoughts I refuse to let inside me? 'Self-trust is the first secret of success'.   • 8. Step six: Form a habit of tolerance Keep an open mind towards people and try to like and accept people just as they are instead of demanding or wishing that they be as you want them to be. Think of one person you have trouble accepting and write that person's name. Now ask yourself, if I did accept that person just as he or she is, how would I behave? What would I actually do? Visualize your answer in concrete terms. Then do it.
  • 9. Step seven: Give yourself positive suggestions We become what we think about most of the time. There are three forms of control you may exert over your mind: o Suggestion, o Self suggestion and o Auto-suggestion.   • 13. Conclusion The power of PMA is great. It can help anyone to achieve wherever he or she wants to go. Where you go with PMA is entirely up to you. But you can set a goal for yourself and attain it by changing only one thing about your life - Your Attitude to everyone and everything that you encounter for better.
