PROFILE OF THE ORGANISATION
Support foundation is a registered non-profit charitable trust. It was created by professionals from
diverse fields with a vision to work for the mental and physical wellbeing of people from different
areas of society irrespective of age, sex, or religion. In Indian society, mental and physical
disability is associated with great stigma; therefore disabled people struggle to find work, and are
generally shunned from their communities. Support Foundation spreads awareness, and fights
stigma and discrimination within society.
HOW IT STARTED
Support foundation was founded by Mrs. Shanu Srivastava. During her work as a psychiatric
counselor, she realized that Indian society is unnecessarily rejecting of disabled and disadvantaged
minority groups. Even parents will abandon disabled children. Such children (and adults) find
themselves isolated, lonely, and more vulnerable than ever. All they need is a helping hand. At
Support Foundation, we believe that no person should be treated as inferior just because they are
differently able. With this in mind, Mrs. Srivastava decided to dedicate her work to improving the
lives of vulnerable members of society. Other professionals with same values have joined her along
the way. Today, Support Foundation has a team of dedicated individuals committed to helping out
those in need.
WHO HELPED THEM
Support Foundation exists to support those who are from a very low socio-economic background
(average monthly household income ` 5,000 / $100 USD), suffering from mental deployment
and/or physical disability. Consequently, our centers are usually full with a broad mix of people.
For example, we have people with autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, mental retardation, Down’s
syndrome, dyslexia, other learning disabilities, hearing impairment, blindness, hydrocephalous,
muscular dystrophy, rickets, etc.). Mostly, those who we work with are children. However there
are also a few adults who, due to mental deployment, have the mental age of elementary school
aged children.
AIM
To support those who are from a very low socio economic background suffering from mental
growth delay and or physical disability
VISION
The support foundation was started with a mission to provide a home a differently abled with any
kind of disability

WORK ALLOTED TO US
 DAY-1:
We were made comfortable by the coordinators of the foundation and was given a brief
introduction about our work we need to get involved into and had a meeting with Mrs. Shanu
Srivastava (Founder of Support) so that we can further know about the working and happenings
of the foundation and also get their view point from they expect from us and what value
additions can we as a student bring to their foundation.
We interacted with the children by telling the stories from the pictorial books they had and by
seeing their capability of resistance, for instance Thirsty Crow and Turtle Rabbit Race. Then
we engage them with music and dance activities at the end of the day.
 DAY-2:
We started our day with some basic physical exercises like jumping, arms movements, neck
movements etc. and prayers. We are given files of all children which include their disabilities
and suggests the way they should be treated as per their disabilities as each student present there
need a different and special attention than that of others. In this way we used to divide the
student in groups and each member was given 3 students to teach and care upon so that no chaos
and equal attention is given to all students. So on this days students were divided among other
mates and drawing, fruit telling, color recognizing were taught in group in effective and
resisting way. And ending our day with having evening snacks with those students.
 DAY-3:
When we reached the Centre in the morning the children were going under some therapy
suggested by their doctors. So in order to know about this therapy we interacted with the doctor
and observed and understand what exercises were given through for various different
disabilities and the methods to overcome them. Though the students we involved we got
engaged with the coordinators and one of the senior management person about the alternative
things that can be done for the students of the other means and ways that can be given to them
like taking them on trips or playground activities to make them realize that they are normal as
others
 DAY-4:
Starting with normal exercises and prayer further leading with drawing and coloring of the
sceneries and mountains and rivers and making them explain the colors to be filled in the same.
Post-lunch session we taught children about road safety measures by using charts and showing
them how important is to be careful while being on road further leading to revision of the session
we had.
 DAY-5:
On this day rather than doing onto exercise we made the students do mediation by making them
sit and closing their eyes. It was quite a tedious task as some of the students was having fun by
opening their eyes again and again and was peeping and distracting others but it was quite fun.
Further we made students to recite a poem on their own on anything they know and talk about
anything they need to tell others which motivated them to speak an express themselves in
whatever they want to which made them happy and even they laughed on that day.
 DAY-6:
They day started with normal exercise and further carried on by their therapy and those students
who were done with their therapy, we were allotted to make them students continue with their
exercises.
After the lunch students were involved in drawing and poetry reciting activities till the end of
the session.
 Day-7:
The last day we collected our feedback from the coordinators and interacted with them and
showed the students some posters of the cartoons and fruits and vegetables and made them learn
at least 5 of them and the session was ended with having dance with students.
REVENUE MODEL

C. Handmade paper diary with block printing.
 French embassy helps the foundation since 5 years by raising funds and allow them to
sale the products in their territory.
 They get the monetary benefits from the charity doers.
SUGGESTIONFOR CSR MODELIN COLLEGE WITHOUT
ACADEMIC LOSS
 On alternate weekends students could volunteer to work on different NGO’S and provide
much needed help for a good cause
 Students can volunteer to donate their blood in blood donation camps
 Could help keeping college premises clean and tidy.
As a student of NDIM College I would love to help ‘differently able’ kids in order to
normalize their lives as far as possible

granted.
