In order to maintain a positive learning
environment, the following classroom
rules are in place.
Do what the teacher asks
immediately.
Sit in your seat unless given
permission to leave it.
Raise your hand to be acknowledged
before speaking.
Keep hands, feet, objects, and hurtful
comments to yourself.
Bring all expected materials to class
daily. (notebook, Chromebook,
pencil, etc.)
Bathroom passes are at the
discretion of the teacher.

OMS, but I have been teaching for
18 years now. When I’m not in the

assignments can be accessed online
through Schoology. Sometimes, we use
paperwork or text book in class.
• Students access Schoology through the
Launchpad at

• Assignments are usually posted with
due dates in Schoology . The
assignments will be available for
students to access at home and in
school.
• Students should check grades Skyward
at least once a week to monitor
progress in all classes.
• Skyward is the ultimate guide to what
assignments have or have not been
turned in at the end of each quarter.
REWARDS COURSE DESCRIPTION ASSIGNMENTS
ABSENCE POLICY
• In the event of an absence, it is
the students’ responsibility to
ask the teacher for any missed
assignment or check Schoology
for work that was completed
while they were absent.
• Each student will be a chance to
turn in the missing work.
Students may turn in missing
assignments up to the day of the
unit test.

The 6th Grade ELA Curriculum
follows the Florida's Benchmarks
for Excellent Student Thinking
(B.E.S.T.) Standards. We will be
using My Perspectives, and the
following will be covered:

Earbud Headphones (placed in
a small, plastic Ziploc bag with
student’s name on the bag -
please no large headphones)
We will have two graded
assignments each week. One
will always be the weekly
update. The other will be a
weekly assessment of the
skills that we have learned.
There will also be unit
assessments which would
take the place of the weekly
assessment at that time.
