This document provides an overview of the APM Body of Knowledge Refresh program which is currently updating the definitions, competency framework, and qualifications for project, program, and portfolio management. It describes the current structure and sections of the 6th edition Body of Knowledge, including the rationale for topics like Context, Delivery, Skills and Professionalism. It also explains how the content is produced by the project management community and offers contact information for those wanting to learn more about the Refresh process.

3. What is the APM Body of Knowledge? The APM Body of Knowledge is a ‘scope statement’ defining what functions comprise project, programme and portfolio management. It defines the breadth of project, programme and portfolio management, but not the depth (this is provided through, for example, the SIG Guides, and the Competence Framework).
