8. CONSUMERIZATION is transforming what users expect
from applications and how we deliver them.
We are now in the era of user-centric IT.
9. CLOUD AND MOBILE are creating an expectation of
anywhere, anytime access and transforming how we
engage with customers and employees.
10. THE INTERNET OF THINGS is generating massive amounts
of new data and information, creating enormous new
challenges and opportunities.

ECM ???
The impact -- We are now beginning the
transition to a sixth era in managing people,
processes, and information, and mobile is at the
heart of this transition.

adoption has been a
big problem for our
ECM project.”

15. In associationwith: Presented by:
1 -- Mobile Access is a Problem…
• Although 29% are in the process of planning or rolling
out mobile access, only 39% currently provide mobile
access of any sort.
– Only 11% would describe that as universal access
across all staff
– Only 5% also providing mobile access to project
partners.

16. In associationwith: Presented by:
2 -- Mobile Usability is a Problem…
• Most mobile functionality restricted to search and view
access, and this may well be through the browser rather
than a dedicated app, limiting offline capability.
– 55% have no app-based capability.
• 37% prefer their workplace social platform to be an
extension or module of their ECM system, rather than a
separate best-of-breed product.
– But only 13% provide an approved “business-grade”
system.
• 62% are still strongly reliant on their file-share.

17. In associationwith: Presented by:
3 -- Mobile Capture is a Problem…
• Only 12% have dedicated mobile e-forms for initiating or
interacting with on-prem processes.
• 71% of organizations have scanning and capture systems,
and for 25% capture is incorporated in their ECM system
– But only 36% are making significant progress towards
paper-free processes.
• Only 30% have integrated multi-channel inbound
capture.

18. In associationwith: Presented by:
3 key ECM strategy requirements moving forward:
1. From a usability perspective, think mobile first.
2. Tap into mobile capture opportunities to push
capture closer to the point of origination.
3. Remember that “Capture” is more that just
scanning.

CHALLENGE
• Customer sends paper claims
to be scannedandprocessed.
• Today,customers use mobile
devices to snapa picture and
don’t send paper anymore.
• This “uncontrolled
environment” leads to:
• Hugefiles,unknownfiletypes
• Unprocessableimages
• Dramaticincreasein email andphone
call costs.
