Notas do Editor

  1. Good afternoon and Warm welcome with many sweet smiles from the village children’s to my Presentation.
  2. My village, my pride, "Ambag" is situated beside the Turag River in Gazipur District. Take a look in Google map below and fly at the sky of our village with the power of technology! As my area live in a industrial area that’s why here population is little bit too much more than other village. The population of my village is around (70,000). The total area is around 34 sqkm.
  3. As it is my birth place so I have some responsibility to do something for my village. From that responsibility I want to develop my village. To develop my village here I faced few challenges that I have to overcome at first. These are illiteracy, water pollution, garbage problem, traffic jam. If totally I can erase all of this from my society hope my village will be model village for others. Though I wish to solve all But at this time it’s not possible for me to solve all or any three problems like any lamp’s gin. But with my little effort I can try for only one. Which one is more severe problem and also cause of few more social problems, and if I could solve that one hope also few problem will erase automatically from my society. That’s one is illiteracy. Let’s find out reason behind illiteracy. Because if we can understand the cause perfectly then it will be easier for us to find out the way to solve it.
  4. Lack of awareness and consciousness People are not aware about the education. Their opinion education is not necessary for life. I am not talking about poor people; I am talking about rich people. May be poor people don’t have the ability to send their child to school because of money but though few people have the ability to send their children to school but they are not doing this, because they don’t know the importance of education, advantages of education in real life, that’s why they Ignore it and giving us an illiterate nation. For this reason I think ignorance is the main cause for illiteracy rather than any things.   Financial Problems Another biggest reason for illiteracy is the financial problems; you know hungry stomach can never think anything but food. It is because after getting food we would be able to read and study. People who face financial problems and who live under the line of poverty cannot afford their children to study so they send their child to tea stall for work.
  5. Poor Education System Another most important cause of the illiteracy is poor education system in our society. In the primary and middle stage teachers behave with the children like an animal and they are very used to with torture. You will find at least one teacher in every school. And most of the children leave their education for this punishment. Furthermore, some few are not satisfied with the academic learning methods, and they prefer manual activities. They tend to work earlier preferring practical experience rather than lessons. So they escape school before they get any graduations.
  6. Poor Communication System/ Lack of education Institution/higher cost In my village as I already said people don’t have the ability too much to send their children in privet school. Because the cost is too much high in private school what they can’t afford for study. Again in my village I have only one primary and no more high school. High school are too far from our village, as a result most of the child don’t want to go over there by crossing a long way again sometimes their parents don’t feel safe to send their little child far alone.
  7. Social Evils Few social evils that also cause of illiteracy. Among them Child labor, child marriage are main. Child Labor is rampant among poor families who aim to increase their family income by sending out children to work from a very young age. Moreover, these children are forced into illegal early marriages and then saddled forever with the responsibility of managing a household, family and work on their young shoulders before even gaining the maturity to fully comprehend the meaning of any of them.   Gender Bias or traditional Concept Besides, traditional concept also can be one of the causes. Most of the family think girls are not allowed for school, and had to stay at home for housework while boys could go to school for education. Nowadays this phenomenon seems being eased, however, this traditional concept still existed in my areas.   Less Government Support Lack of resources on the part government is a major obstruction in the propagation of primary education. Govt. spends less money on education as compared to other developing countries. Some religious people do not allow the education of their children particularly girls except religious education.
  8. I will gather people… Though is not possible to solve overnight, but at least I could try more than few nights. To solve this problem I need manpower which is most important rather than money. At First I will share my idea with my friend, my senior brother and also junior brother. If I can successfully convince them then I will tell them to gather more people from their side. And that the way hopes I will get my manpower. Next to split up my area… After that I will split up my village into four parts. And each part of village our team member will work, they will focus on two level people,,, 1st unaware rich people, 2nd poor people. no middle class family. Because they too much aware about their education.   Raising Awareness Here first we need to raise awareness of uneducated people about education. But question hoe we r going to raise that? By light of education hope we can do it. But how we can make them literate though they don’t have interest into education? Here my idea is Arrange Educational Program or seminar This is goanna only for rich illiterate people who are basically not aware about education. Because if u call them to night class they will never come , but by changing the name we can bring them and provide them than idea about education, share them importance about education , problem not being an literate man. And also the benefit to make children educated. Also for maintaining their property they need education otherwise they can be cheated by any one. And also from this seminar we can also collect money for our anther program... Night School for Poor people… They know nothing about education. To them money, food, nice clothes are important rather that education. If we can teacher them, if we can spared the light of education hopefully they will automatically send their children to school by their all effort rather than send their child to tea stall.
  9. Make sure Job facility In my areas there have lot people whore are educated but they don’t have any job. And these things also motivate few people not to going school. But if we can ensure them that after education we will give them a job as their education quality hope they will be interested to be literate and also to send their child for schooling. Unemployment. It is because most of educated people in my village are unemployed and other people also think that, "what is the benefit of that education, which can't provide any job; it’s better to start any business instead of waiting time on education." Write to Charity organization Now for financial help we can write latter to few charity organizations to help use for our novel purpose.   Take help of local Media May be I can take help of local media. Through that channel we can send some message to all people about advantages of being literate and also the dis-advantages of not being a literate man. As most of poor class people used too that type of local channel in tea stall, so hope we can easily reach to them.   Write to government There also have few things where we can’t do anything; our governments have to do some things, Such as, government have to sanction more money for build up new high school and also have to repair old one and will increase the room for growing population. Now after built up institution, have to mandatory till class 8 education for all. Government has to provide stipend all students which will encourage them to come school. And also government has to ensure that everything is implemented properly. By mention all of this we can write to government or local authority for help.
