2. First Draft Once I finished my first draft, I instantly thought that I had used the wacky colour’s in order to portray the rock and roll theme, however, I was wrong a this contents page look’s very childish, and amateurish. Although I like the picture on the right, the picture on the left does not look professional enough, therefore a new picture will have to be taken unless I can manage to make it seem like it fits in with the contents page. The contents page at the moment look’s very boring and therefore I will have to re-edit it.
3. Second Draft I though by using different colours I may be able to effect the way the whole page look’s, however, the choice of colours was poorly chosen as the blue barely stands out against the black background and the yellow font look’s very bland although the font is more clear in it’s different font. The pink used look’s as if the audience being targeted, is mostly female which is not the case as it is directed at female and male fans of rock and indie. Also I decided to keep the ‘minutes’ picture but this will not work, therefore another image will have to take it’s place, although the picture on the right will be kept.
4. Final Draft Here is my final draft, I believe this is the best product to go with as I have completely redesigned the layout and the colours of fonts, and there styles. I have now included an editors note therefore giving the magazine a more personal touch. The note also includes a picture of the editor which is a common convention within magazines. I continued using the theme of red and white into the contents page as then the reader is able to relate to the front page. I also incorporated another image on to the contents page, replacing the ‘minutes’ image as this look’s a lot more rock themed and therefore matches the genre of the magazine. I have also included a promotional tactic, so that it will encourage the readers to invest more money into the magazine.
