1. HOW MANY WATER COMES FROM THE FAUCET DURING 10 SECONDS? A// It comes 1.5 quarts per 10 seconds. HOW MANY WATER COMES IN 30 SECONDS? A//It comes 4.5 quarts in 30 seconds HOW MANY WATER COMES FROM THE FAUCET DURING A MINUTE? A// It comes 9.0 quarts in a minute. WICH IS THE RESPONSABLE FOR 65%-70% OF THE SPENDING OF WATER AT HOME? The biggest consumer of water is when we take a shower.
HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND TAKING A SHOWER? Carlos: A//I take 5 minutes to take a shower. Juliana: A// I take a shower around 6-7 minutes. HOW MANY TIMES A DAY DO YOU DO THAT? Carlos: I take a shower 2 times a day. Juliana: I do that (take a shower) 2 times a day. HOW MANY TIMES IN A WEEK DO YOU TAKE A SHOWER? Carlos: I take a shower 14 times a week Juliana: If I take a shower 2 times a day and the week has 7 days so in a week I take it 14 times.
Word problem # 1 PRROBLEM SOLUTION If Pedro spends 9.0 quarts of water washing his hands in 1 minute and he washes them in 3 minutes 4 times a day, how many water does he spends in a week?. So you have to multiply 9.0 times 3 because in 1 minute you spend 9.0p quarts and Pedro spend 3 minutes so the result is 27.0 and then you multiply that by 4 because he does it 4 times a day and the answer is 108.0 and then you multiply 108.0 by 7 because the week has 7 days and the answer is 756.0. In conclusion Pedro spends 756.0 quarts of water in a week.

  • 16. Word problem # 2 PRROBLEM SOLUTION Juan takes a shower 2 times a day so in 24 hours (2 times shower) he spends 45.0 quarts of water. In the month of May that has 31 days, how many times did he took a shower and how much water did he spend? He takes a shower 62 times a day because if he takes a shower 2 times a day and in that month there are 31 days so 31 times 2=62. He spends 1355.0 quarts of water in the month of May because if he spends in the 2 times he took a shower 45.0 quarts of water and in May there are 31 days so we multiply 45 times 31 and the answer is 1355.0 quarts of water.
