3D’s core IP “3D Capability Profile” is unique and patentable. The
application built on Open Source technologies are modularized and can

(SOA) and its apps can talk to and work with third party applications.

The 3D Team
G Ramu, the founder and the Ideator in the team is passionate about talent and human development. Appreciative
of the prowess of technology, he believes in being able to deploy it innovatively to take talent development to the
masses.
Ramu is a graduate in engineering from IIT-BHU, Varanasi and a post graduate in HR from XLRI Jamshedpur
and has worked in leading organisations including BHEL, Asian Paints, Britannia and HCL Technologies.
Moving out of the corporate world, he plunged into entrepreneurship taking charge of Yoganishta – a
recruitment company. He launched 3D Talent Services in 2010.
R Babu is the Co-Founder and the software development head. His strengths are in software engineering and
building organizations. He has worked for over a decade in HCL Technologies in various roles, the larger part of which
was in software engineering. Moving out of HCL Technologies, he went on build Force10’s (now a Dell company)
Indian operation from scratch into a 400 member team.
Babu is a graduate from Government College of Engineering, Coimbatore with a Masters from PSG College
of Technology, Coimbatore.
Nandakumar Menon is the champion of talent landscape intelligence. His role is to build processes and technologies
for gathering intelligence on the talent landscape and strengthening the core applications of 3D Talent Services with
the right data.
Nanda’s last assignment was as the Executive Director of Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation.
Prior to this challenging stint he served with Mahindra Satyam, ICRA and ACC.
Nanda is a classmate of Ramu from IIT-BHU, Varanasi and holds a Masters from SUNY, US and a PGDBM
from IIM-Kolkata.

3DCP can be equated to a four stroke engine that drives modern vehicles. Just as different models of cars are built
around the same technology, many applications are being created around 3DCP. Any activity that is centered around
talent – career development, training, job-person fit, succession planning, rewards and recognitions etc. – can be
handled by 3D’s suite of currently available and planned applications with 3DCP serving as the underlying engine. The
more scientific the profiling, the better would be the effectiveness of the system.
The talent landscape is constantly evolving – new skills emerge and fade, some industries become hot-spots while
others go cold. A proper prescription for talent management and development can be effected only when the
solution is intelligent and flexible enough to be customized easily to suit an individual or a company’s talent profile.
This is a challenging field where we plan to invest and requires not just development of technology solutions but also
processes for incorporating human judgment and simplifying their decision making processes. The technologies used
will include machine learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Big Data and other intelligent data mining and
analysis solutions.
Technology
The applications have been built using Open Source technologies. We have used Linux, Apache Server, mySQL and
PHP as a framework. jQuery and AJAX have been used extensively for simplified manipulation and presentation of
data.
The applications are hosted in the Data Center of Rackspace – one of the world’s leading hosting providers. The
applications for individuals, companies and talent service providers are disparate or modularized i.e. they can be
used on a stand-alone basis. Yet, they are integrated, allowing for users to use the other applications with a Single
Sign-On (SSO). To enable this, we have used Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). We expect the applications to talk
to and work with third party applications. Keeping this possibility we have created the application such that APIs can
be easily created when the need arises.
