Key Terms——Angle Example Definition/What it is?
High Angle
In a high angle shot the camera is
always above the person or subject to
create more dramatic.High angle
camera shot will let audience feel the
character is much smaller,it also
looks they are being looked down
upon.
Low Angle
A low angle shot is used in filming to
view a perspective of being below
something.The camera is positioned
low to look up at the subject. This
picture shows a low angle Eiffel
Tower, from this angle,we can feel the
tower is great tall and the structure is
really complicate.
Birds eye view
A birds eye view is an elevated view
of an object from above, with a
perspective as though the observer
were a bird, often used in the making
blueprint or the beginning of a
movie.This picture is the Manhattan.
Key Term——Movement Example Definition/What it is?
Pan
The pan is the camera will follow the
main character,static camera
movement from left to right like the
example.The camera will focus on
the character,so the background will
be not clearly.I think this shot is
usually use to catch the frame which
move quickly.
Tilt
The tilt is moving the camera lens up
or down while keeping its horizontal
axis constant.I think the tilt may use
in some frame which wants to show
the whole characters or objects in
part.
Track/Dolly
Motion towards or motion from.For
example,if a character is walking
along the street,the camera will
follow the character on a metal
track,so I think dolly/track is be used
something like this.
Crane/Mechanical shot
A crane can used to lift a comers
from low to high shooting
positions. This can help you put the
camera high enough,so you can bring
the audience a high view.
Steadicam
A steadicam can provide a very
smooth frame,even when moving
quickly move an uneven surface .
Zoom/Reverse zoom
Zooming is one camera move that
most people are probably familiar
with.Technically this isn’t a
camera, but a change in the lens focal
length with gives the illusion of
moving camera closer or further
away.
Hand held
A hand held can use when you want
to shot something really near and it
can keep you more smooth.
Key Term——Composition Example Definition/What it is?
Deep focus
The deep focus is using a large depth
of field.When a camera use a deep
focus ,we can see the character and
the background as well.
Shallow focus
The shadow focus can focus on the
main character,and the background of
this frame will be fuzzy,so it can
outstanding the main character.
Rule of thirds
The rule of third is guideline
followed by some visual artists.Note
how the horizon falls close to the
bottom grid line, and how the dark
areas are in the left third, the
overexposed in the right third.
Key Term——Composition Example Definition/What it is?
Eye-line match
A eye-line match is based on the
premise that the audience will want to
see that the character on-screen is
seeing.It begins with a character
looking at something of-screen,
followed by a cut to the object
or person at which he is looking.
Key Term—-Camera Example Definition/What it is?
Long shot
Long shots give more attention to the
background to give more effect on
the scenery. From this picture we can
both see the characters,background in
one scenery.
Close up
A close up is a way off getting a more
detailed facial expression and
audience can fully see what the
character feels on the situation.
Pull focus
Pull focus is another focus technique
in which focal point in shifted from
one part of the screen to another.
Aerial shot
This is the viewpoint seen at a high
elevation,it is usually in reference to a
landscape or a cityscape.
Medium close up
The medium close up is half way
between a medium shot and a close
up.The camera shows a half of the
character's body,and this shot will
shows the face more clearly,without
getting uncomfortable close.
Medium shot
A medium shot is a common shot
used,mostly used through dialogue
scenes and ables the audience to
engage.
Establishing shot
The establish shot is a usually long
shot in film or video used at the
beginning of a sequence to establish
an overview of the sense that follows.
Key Term—-Camera Example Definition/What it is?
Point of view
Point of view is the angle of
considering things,which shows us
the opinion,or feelings of individuals
involved in a situation.
Extreme close up
The extreme close up is a shot really
close to a part of the character or the
object.This picture use this shot
shows one side of a girl’s eyes and it
fill the whole frame.
Over the shoulder shot
Over the shoulder placed the camera
giving a direct eye to eye level to see
what the actor sees.
Two shot
A two shot is when two characters
occupy the frame, either face to face
or one behind another. This type of
shot is used to show a
conversation,argument,or discussion
between the characters.
Canted frame
The canted frame means the tilt of the
camera suggests imbalance in
comparison to other objects within
the frame.Often used in horror
films.Canted shots give the
impression of chaos,instability and
mental imbalance in a characters.
