Angry Eyes
This was an activity where I had to watch two youtube videos that had a racism exercise
that used the color of their eyes to judge them. In the exercise the eye colors of brown and blue
were used to discriminate against them. The blue eyed people represent the blacks, Latinos, gay
and lesbians. The brown eyes represented everyone who discriminated against the others. The
exercise gets real intense and some kids that were in the blue eyed grouped started to breakdown.
One of the girls that was in the middle with the blue eyed group got up and left. The exercise
really allows people to see how it feels to be discriminated against for something that they can’t
change. Many of the kids walked away with a new outlook on how things are in America and
life.
