For Those In Darkness

     “GO INTO ALL
     THE WORLD”
Revelation 10:7

 (7) But in the days of the voice
of the seventh angel, when he
    shall begin to sound, the
    mystery of God should be
finished, as he hath declared to
    his servants the prophets.
Ephesians 3
 (1) For this cause I Paul, the
prisoner of Jesus Christ for you
   Gentiles,
 (2) If ye have heard of the

dispensation of the grace of God
which is given me to you-ward:

Ephesians 3
 (3) How that by revelation he
   made known unto me the mystery;
(as I wrote afore in few words,
 (4) Whereby, when ye read, ye

   may understand my knowledge in
   the mystery of Christ)

Ephesians 3
 (5) Which in other ages was not made
known unto the sons of men, as it is
now revealed unto his holy apostles
      and prophets by the Spirit;
 (6) That the Gentiles should be
fellowheirs, and of the same body, and
partakers of his promise in Christ by
      the gospel:
3/4
RH, April 20, 1911 par. 12
 Thus the Lord had given Paul his
    commission to enter the broad
    missionary field of the Gentile
world. To prepare him for his
    extensive and difficult work,

                                    1/4
RH, April 20, 1911 par. 12
 God had brought him into close
 connection with himself, and had
 opened before his enraptured
vision glimpses of the beauty and
 glory of heaven.

RH, April 20, 1911 par. 12
 To him had been given the ministry
 of making known "the mystery,
which was kept secret since the
 world began,"--"the mystery of his
will," "which in other ages was not
made known unto the sons of men,

and partakers of his promise in
 Christ by the gospel."

Colossians 4:3
 “Withal praying also for us, that
God would open unto us a door of
utterance, to speak the mystery of
Christ, for which I am also in
    bonds:”
The prophecy was
not fulfilled at the
 appointed time.
Why?
Revelation 10:7

Desire of Ages - 633 (1898)

God "hath appointed a day,
in the which He will judge
the world." Acts 17:31. Christ
tells us when that day shall be
ushered in.
                               1
Desire of Ages - 633 (1898)
He does not say that all the world
will be converted, but that "this
gospel of the kingdom shall be
preached in all the world for a
witness unto all nations; and then
shall the end come."

                                 2
Desire of Ages - 633 (1898)

By giving the gospel to the
world it is in our power to
hasten our Lord's return. We are
not only to look for but to
hasten the coming of the day of
God. 2 Peter 3:12, margin.
                                3
Desire of Ages - 633 (1898)
Had the church of Christ done her
appointed work as the Lord
ordained, the whole world would
before this have been warned, and
the Lord Jesus would have come to
our earth in power and great glory.

                                 4
Matthew 24
 (14) And this gospel of the
    kingdom shall be preached in
all the world for a witness unto
all nations; and then shall the
    end come.
Who are you
preaching to?
Are we knocking
on doors that are
 already open?
Great Controversy – 457-458
(taken from Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 4, published 1884)

The history of ancient Israel is a
striking illustration of the past
experience of the Adventist body.
God led His people in the advent
movement, even as He led the
children of Israel from Egypt.

                                                           1/9

(taken from Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 4, published 1884)

Had they still trusted to the guiding
hand that had been with them in their
past experience, they would have seen
the salvation of God. In the great
disappointment their faith was
tested as was that of the Hebrews
at the Red Sea.

Great Controversy – 457-458
(taken from Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 4, published 1884)

If all who had labored unitedly in
the work in 1844, had received the
third angel's message and
proclaimed it in the power of the
Holy Spirit, the Lord would have
wrought mightily with their efforts.

                                                           3/9
Great Controversy – 457-458
(taken from Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 4, published 1884)

A flood of light would have
                   ,
been shed upon the world.
Years ago the inhabitants of the
earth would have been warned,
the closing work completed, and
Christ would have come for the
redemption of His people.

                     ,
It was not the will of God that
Israel should wander forty years in
the wilderness; He desired to lead
them directly to the land of Canaan
and establish them there, a holy,
happy people.

                                                           5/9
Great Controversy – 457-458
(taken from Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 4, published 1884)

But "they could not ,enter in
because of unbelief." Hebrews 3:19.
Because of their backsliding and
apostasy they perished in the
desert, and others were raised up to
enter the Promised Land.

                                                           6/9

                   ,
In like manner, it was not the
will of God that the coming of
Christ should be so long delayed
and His people should remain
so many years in this world of
sin and sorrow.
                                                          7/9

                   ,
But unbelief separated them
from God. As they refused to do
the work which He had
appointed them, others were
raised up to proclaim the
message.

(taken from Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 4, published 1884)

                    ,
In mercy to the world, Jesus delays
His coming, that sinners may have
an opportunity to hear the warning
and find in Him a shelter before the
wrath of God shall be poured out.

“We may have to remain here in this
world because of insubordination many
more years, as did the children of Israel,
but for Christ's sake, His people should
not add sin to sin by charging God with
the consequence of their own wrong

 Thework of a minister is to
 minister. Our ministers are to
work on the gospel plan of
 ministering. It has been
presented to me that all through
 America there are barren fields.

General Conference Bulletin
         April 12 , 1901, para. 21

 AsI traveled through the South
on my way to the Conference, I
saw city after city that was
 unworked. What is the matter?
 The ministers are hovering over
 churches, which know the truth,
 while thousands are perishing out
 of Christ.

General Conference Bulletin
         April 12 , 1901, para. 21

 If
   the proper instruction were
 given, if the proper methods
 were followed, every church
member would do his work as a
member of the body. He would
 do Christian missionary work.

General Conference Bulletin
          April 12 , 1901, para. 21
 Butthe churches are dying, and
they want a minister to preach to
them. They should be taught to
bring a faithful tithe to God, that he
 may strengthen and bless them.
 They should be brought into
working order, that the breath of
 God may come to them.

General Conference Bulletin
           April 12 , 1901, para. 21

 They should be taught that
 unless they can stand alone,
without a minister, they need to
 be converted anew, and
baptized anew. They need to be
 born again.

  Instead of keeping the
      ministers at work for the
      churches that already know
the truth, let the members of
      the churches say to these
      laborers:
1/3
Testimonies, vol. 6, p. 30.
                (published 1901)
 "Go work for souls that are
      perishing in darkness. We
      ourselves will carry forward the
services of the church. We will
      keep up the meetings, and,
      by abiding in Christ, will
      maintain spiritual life.
2/3
Testimonies, vol. 6, p. 30.
               (published 1901)

 We will work for souls that
are about us, and we will
send our prayers and our gifts
      to sustain the laborers in
      more needy and destitute
      fields."

Gospel Workers, p.15 (1915)
 Foremost among those called to preach the
gospel of Christ stands the apostle Paul, to every
minister an example of loyalty, devotion, and
untiring effort. His experiences and his
instruction regarding the sacredness of the
minister's work, are a source of help and
inspiration to those engaged in the gospel
    ministry.
Romans –15
 (20) Yea, so have I strived to preach the
gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I
    should build upon another man's
    foundation:
 (21) But as it is written, To whom he was
not spoken of, they shall see: and they that
    have not heard shall understand.
 (22) For which cause also I have been much
    hindered from coming to you.
                                               1/3
Romans –10
 (13) For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be saved.
 (14) How then shall they call on him in
whom they have not believed? and how
shall they believe in him of whom they
have not heard? and how shall they
    hear without a preacher?

                                        1/2
Romans –10
    (15) And how shall they preach, except
they be sent? as it is written, How
beautiful are the feet of them that
preach the gospel of peace, and bring
    glad tidings of good things!
 (16) But they have not all obeyed the
gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who
    hath believed our report?

God’s Plan – Acts 20:17, 28
 (17) And from Miletus he sent to
Ephesus, and called the elders of the
  church.
 (28) Take heed therefore unto
yourselves, and to all the flock, over
the which the Holy Ghost hath made
you overseers, to feed the church of
God, which he hath purchased with
  his own blood.
1 Peter 5
 1 The elders which are among you I exhort,
who am also an elder, and a witness of the
sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of
the glory that shall be revealed:
 2 Feed the flock of God which is among
you, taking the oversight thereof, not by
constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre,
    but of a ready mind;
                                               1/2
Ephesians 4
 (11) And he gave some to be apostles;
  and some, prophets; and some,
  evangelists; and some, pastors and
  teachers;
 (12) for the perfecting of the saints, unto
the work of ministering, unto the building
up of the body of Christ:
