 There are two parts to the programme
 Expression Music Genius (EMG)
 Expression Music Fun (EMF)
 Each course runs for 44 lessons, spit into four terms
 The first term runs 12 weeks
 The second term runs 12 weeks
 The third term runs 12 weeks
 The fourth tern runs 8 weeks
 Each weekly class runs for an hour, with a maximum of 8
students per class
 The programme and materials are developed by EMI, a
music academy with experience both locally and abroad.
 EMG is the first part of the programme.
 It runs for 44 weeks and is a music course designed to
nurture children through music learning and group
interaction.
 The best age to learn music pitch and rhythm is at the
age of 3-5 years old.
 Through EMG, children will discover a wonderful
world of musical tones, alphabets, numbers and
shapes.
 Each lesson is made up of six different activities.
 The EMF is a continuation of EMG.
 Music experiences contribute to the growth of a well-balanced
child, developing his/her sensitivity, expressiveness,
pyschomotor skills and other essential skills necessary for
today’s world.
 It will be a great advantage for every child to be groomed to have
perfect pitch awareness and the understanding of time
signatures, musical notes on the piano, musical rests, hand-eye-
leg coordination and simple Italian musical terms.
 Your child will also be able to identify up to 40 different
instruments both visually and aurally (by listening).
 Similar to the EMG, each lesson is made up of 6 different
activities.
 Q: What is the class size?
 A: To ensure our teachers can keep a safe watch of your child, we have set the
maximum class size at 8. A teacher-assistant will be present for all classes with more
than 5 children.
 Q: Can I enroll my child for the EMF course without going through the EMG course?
 A: Our EMG and EMF courses are closely linked. As such, the EMF syllabus and
teaching methodology is built upon a child’s understanding of musical concepts and
musical imagery as taught in the EMG course. In order to maximise your child’s
musical development and learning, the school will strongly recommend for all
children to through the EMG course before proceeding on the EMF course.
 Q: Will materials and books be provided?
 A: You are required to make a one-time purchase of books and materials before the
commence of the course. No additional materials will be required then after.
 Q: What opportunities are there for my child beyond EMG/EMF?
 A: Upon completion of EMG and EMF, your child can look forward to choose from a
wide selection of music lessons ranging from group piano for twos, aural and theory
lessons to private lessons on the violin, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, piano
and drums. We will also be on a look out for young budding talents with keen
interest in music to undergo private instruction by the school principal.
