reunion in 2011, the
1961 class of OCW is
leaving its legacy with
the establishment of
the Class of 1961
Scholarship. Ten
members of the class
are providing
leadership.

3. The Conover Sisters Scholarship
was established by Mildred
Conover Watson and Una
Conover Teter. Mildred is a
member of the class of 1950
and Una is a member of the
class of 1952. Preference is
given to USAO students who
are female American Indian,
preferably an enrolled member
of a federally recognized tribe.

4. The OCLA Scholarship,
established by the 13-
member committee that
planned the 2010 OCLA
Reunion, is open to
students majoring in one
of the fine arts. The
scholarship is to honor the
great experiment that was
the Oklahoma College of
Liberal Arts.

5. Sue Caldwell Smith, class of 1949,
established this scholarship during the
2009 Alumni Homecoming. Because of
her love for OCW and the Home
Economics Department, she has provided
funds for the ‘49er Alumni Bridge,
established a scholarship honoring Lynda
Hanna Holding and donated playground
equipment honoring Ila Winton for the
college’s child development center. She
established this scholarship in memory of
her husband, educator and scientist
James Virgil Smith.
