2.  The fakeer of jungheera is long poem by henry
derozio he was born in 18th April 1809 in
kolkatta,west Bengal
 In the fakeer of jungheera derozio mixed the
tantric,hindu,mythological,islamic and Christian
tradition.
 Fakeer and nuleeni are two star crossed lovers like
Romeo and juliet.fakeer is follower of Islam.
 He loves a lady nulleni who is married and also a
upper cast female .nulleni was married to a
Brahmin. her husband died in an early youth.
 During this time Indians are suffered by many evils
like ‘sati prtha’ and killing girl child by boiling the
baby in the hot pot of milk etc..

4.  Nulleni was brought to the spot where her husband
is to be cremated .women were singing a songs of
sati. She not want to died behind her husband
 Nulleni was lost in the thoughts of fakeer.
 On the funeral of her husband both fakeer and
nulleni are escape .
 In the intense bond of love they both forget their
caste discrimination .they challenged the man made
norms of the society.
 The father of beautiful widow nulleni determines to
avenge fakeer .he goes to shah Shiva the king of his
time. He requests him to send his army with him to
avenge the fakeer.

5.  He did not even think of his daughters happiness or
love.
 Now fakeer has no choice if he runs away from the
battlefield he would be caught and punished .he
decided to fight back the army of nulleni’s father.
 Nulleni prefers to die to gather with someone she
loves than with her husband whom she does not
.now is free here to die with fakeer.
 Both are risked his life to be united but they were
doomed to be part . Nulleni decided to died behind
him.
 This is impossible and bold story of love affair
between Hindu upper class widow and a Muslim
lower class fakeer reflected and criticized the evils of
Indian society.
