Addiction: (n) The state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma. 1 Models :Myopic/Naïve - unable to see the bigger picture of the consequences of their behavior, regardless of the outcome, they will still use. Rational time-consistent -fully aware of the big picture and that they are able to change their behavior if the outcome outweighs the benefits Time-inconsistent- can see the outcomes on some level, but that may be to dependant on the substance to be able to react to a negative outcome.
