This document discusses research summaries as an evolving tool for knowledge mobilization. It describes summaries that are 2 pages, written in clear language, vetted by researchers, and open access. A 2008 SSHRC grant supported their development as part of the ResearchImpact network toolkit. The format is now used by 10 offices across 5 institutions. Focus groups validated the summaries as helpful for policymakers, community groups, and researchers. Examples are provided of 4 organizations that produce summaries, along with their successes with and challenges of using the format. Contact information is given for representatives from each organization.
