When required to wear the veil Marjane was exceeding in school, had a close relationship to god, and
was actively concerned about the political standings in Iran. She had a lot of friends at school, where
she wore the veil, and was happy and well adapted. The veil protected Marjane from being negatively

The Synthesis Of Aspirin ( Acetylsalicylic Acid )
Abstract
This report presents the synthesis of Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), as the product of the reaction of
salicylic acid with ethanoic anhydride under acidic conditions. Aspirin was purified through
recrystallisation by vacuum filtration, followed by desiccation of the Aspirin crystal over silica gel.
The percentage yield was calculated as 44.89% and a sample of Aspirin was analysed using infra red
spectroscopy and compared to the spectrum of pure Aspirin, this served as an introduction to the
identification of functional groups in organic compounds. The melting point was calculated using an
IA9000M apparatus and recorded to be 35.2°C, which was slightly below the melting point of pure
Aspirin; known to be between 138 140°C. Both IR spectroscopy and melting point measurement were
used verify the purity of synthetic Aspirin made, which proved to be fairly pure under these laboratory
conditions.

Good morning,
Today I would like to extol the crucial importance of academic success, and the fine qualities it
entails. Today on this stage, I would like to not only show my story of academic success, but also how
it has inherently moulded my personality and my perception of myself.
Academic success is something that has caused me great rumination something that has ultimately
became a laborious task. And while it has made me reclusive at times, the pursuit of it will integrally

Bertrand Russell argues that we should worship our good instinct, moral insights rather than
worshiping the evil god. He says we should create our own ideals and worship them. Russell explains
that worshiping our ideals gives us true freedom. As he says, in determination to worship only the god

anything they see in themselves. Their thoughts and beliefs are of those the power devours. Russell
suggests that we should question whether the universal power deserves this respect. Russell concludes
that we must follow our very own good instinct, which will bring us true freedom rather than the
