The True Meaning Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
In Shakespeare s romantic and powerful play Romeo and Juliet, the two main characters, Romeo
Montague and Juliet Capulet, share a love at first sight moment at a very young age; in no time,
their bond becomes unbreakable. Shakespeare clearly and eloquently emphasizes their love
throughout the play by using poetic writing and literary devices to show how these two come
together and their attraction becomes stronger as the play progresses. Today, most young loves
seem to not get the true meaning of lovethat Shakespeare so strongly poses in Romeo and Juliet
and think that just being together for a long time or having a great deal of pleasure is considered
love . The passionate love that both Romeo and Juliet experience at such a young age through
Shakespeare s writing seems outlandish to most young, immature readers today; however,
although rare, with responsibility, maturity, and true affection, such love is still possible in this
day and age. Today, love is such a commonly used word it almost feels as if people do not even
realize what they are mean when they use the word. People seem to use the term for not just their
own lovers or family members the main things that we should love but materialistic things such as
phones, presents, and other rather meaningless temporary things in our everyday lives. People all
over the world hear other people saying I love this and I love that, and do not recognize that they
do not know what they are truly saying.

Lewis And Clark Dbq Analysis
The American travelers Lewis, and Clark embarked on a journey, discovering new lands and
space bought from the French. Along the way they encountered numerous tribes, and numerous
Natives who have aided them in many ways, but new evidence states that the legendary
cartographers were in fact very impolite people. Many people debate about it, but were Lewis
and Clark respectful to the Natives they met on their journey? They weren t in fact respectful at
all. They left a medal on a dead Native to sprout fear between the people, and rid the Natives of
their land to poor soil, as well as used their own belief and religion against them. According to
Lewis s diary entry (Doc B), While the men were preparing the horses, I put four shields and two
bows and quivers of arrows which had been left [by the Indians] on the fire... I also retook the
flag but left the medal about the neck of the dead man that they might be informed who were.
Lewis left the medal on the deceased male to inform the others who they were. This means that
they want to make the people of the tribe aware of who was in charge , and what would happen if
anyone stepped out of line. This is disrespectful because that was a person they cared about and to
mock, and use him inhumanely is truly preposterous!... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of simply showing gratitude for the aid on their journey, they are kicked off their land and
given poorer, underutilized grounds to live upon. The white people took land that was already
theirs and decided to purposely cause cultural genocide for the Natives. This shows rudeness and
disrespect because the Natives aided them, and without their help Lewis and Clark would be lost

Relationship between Internet Addiction (Screen Addiction) and eyesight
Ever since Robert E. Kahn and Vint Cerf invented the Internet, it was hard to use and it was
considered a privilege. But after Tim Berners Lee invented World Wide Web and spread out, It
catches on with the trend. In these days, most of the people are using the Internet for web surfing,
social media, etc. Especially, most teenagers have their own smartphone through that they are
keeping in touch with the internet. It is transformed into Internet addiction. Despite they are
addicted to the internet, They can t avulse smartphone from them. Also, when they are using their
smartphone before they sleep, they eyesight become worse and worse. Internet addiction is the
main reason to impair people s vision. First of all, when people use their phone before they sleep,
they turn off the light and they straightly face their smartphone and smartphone emit Blue light.
Second, Computer Vision Syndrome makes people s eyes worse, and they cannot put down their
phone even though people know that is dangerous.
Blue Light is emitted by all electronic devices and people are facing blue light while they are using
their electronic devices such as a computer, smartphone, etc. Blue light increases the risk of macular
degeneration and also cause the eye cancer. The term of macular stand for a small area at the center
of the retina. Most of the visual cells are gathered here, and

Dulce Et Decorum Est And Buttons
The average life expectancy, for a soldier, in the deadly trenches that fortified the outlines of no
man s land, during World War One, was only 6 weeks. (War History) Although war can be seen
as glorious, people often forget about these tragedies. In the poems Dulce Et Decorum Est, by
Wilfred Owen, and Buttons, by Carl Sandburg, the catastrophes of war are brought to the eyes of
public, as the authors make an attempt to save the souls of thousands of young boys everywhere
by bringing to light the misunderstanding that society has about war. In the year 1915 Wilfred
Owen experienced war first hand when he enlisted in the Manchester Regiment. During Owen s
time in war, he suffered from a mental illness once known as Shell Shock, more commonly... Show

Sandburg does this as he describes the horrendous deaths of soldiers Ten thousand men and boys

explains to people that the death of a soldier during war is never as beautiful as society has been
tricked into thinking it is. Carl then acknowledges how oblivious society is to this Who would
guess what it cost to move two buttons one inch . Sandburg uses this to express how society
underestimates how painful the death of a soldier is. Just as Owen experienced war, Sandburg
experienced a different war in a similar way. As Sandburg fought in the Spanish American war
and journalized World War One, he learned that war is not what people said it would be. He
understands the complete and utter horror of the murder of a soldier. By mocking society s
opinion of a soldier s life Sandburg hopes to disregard society s misinterpretations of war and
explain how it is inhumane for a person to go through a

Should Prison Gangs Become More Prevalent Inside Our...
Prison gangs within the penal system are problematic and a multifaceted issue for several reasons.
One reason gangs are so problematic in the penal system is due to the threat they impose on others,
including other types of gang bangers, non gang affiliated inmates, correctional staff, prison
administration, and the overall security of the facility itself. According to research, A composite
measure of gangmisconduct represents the threat that particular gangs pose to prison order
(Gaes, Wallace, Gilman, Saffron, Suppa, 2002). In fact, There is little doubt that prison gangs
are the source of considerable misconduct and present serious challenges to the management of
prisons, which is why numerous strategies have been employed to control and suppress gang
activity (Pyrooz Mitchell, 2015). Why are prison gangs becoming more prevalent inside our
nation s prison system? Since the 1950s, prison gangs have developed in American prisons more
rapidly than in the previous years. Correction staff recognizes some prison gangs as being a
security threat group or STG. A security threat group is a term for prison gangs that describes how
they negatively impact the security of prison operations (Smallagher Smykla, 2015). Gangs have
increased in size and popularity with the penal system because of desegregation with the facilities.
After desegregation happened in the 1960s, inmates regarded desegregation as a need to join
together racially, especially as a means of

Persuasive Essay On Fast Food
As time has passed, Americans have become downright lazy and inconsiderate when it comes to
preparing their meals. They substitute fresh, nutritional, balanced meals for a big mac on their
way to work. Since Americans have become so lazy, the emphasis is on quick service rather
than the quality of the food. Open 24/7! It takes two hands to hold a whopper! There s fast food,
then there s KFC! Your way, right away! As Americans continue to fill their bodies with fatty,
processed, fake food, people around the world starve, and their access to clean drinking water is
limited. So how is America to help? Now, when I state this, know it is not for my own gain. I am
not starving, malnourished, nor am I grossly obese. This is simply a gain for the world, so that
we may help those in need. In order for fast food chains to shut down, we would need to get rid
of the obese people. How do we do this in a civil manner? Feed them to the malnourished. Now I
know what you re thinking what is considered obese? Some people work out excessively, and a
healthy 400 pound male that can lift that weight has a higher BMI because of the muscle. I
mean to say the large ones, made entirely out of excess fat, the meat ready to slide off their bones
the way it slides off of Colonel Sander s chicken. By feeding these overweight people to the
malnourished, we not only will solve world hunger, but this will solve overpopulation. People
over the BMI of 30 + will be put to death, and for a reasonable, redeeming cause. Those who are
18 will receive the meat of the generous donors. Those in the healthy range will continue to eat
the way they do, while being monitored by a doctor, of course, so we can watch their eligibility
for being overweight. Those who are overweight put on a watch list. The lower the BMI on the
overweight side, the less you are to be harassed by the government. If you re teeter tottering on
the obese line, you are put in a hospital, so that as soon as you can be put to slaughter, it s done.
Not only will this solve world hunger and overpopulation, but America won t need volunteers to go
over to these underdeveloped, third world countries, which will spare our time and supplies. Why
would we waste our precious

about 38 grams. Their arms can grow to be about 15 cm long. Thousands of people suffer the
bites from the southern blue ringed octopus. Sadly some of these bites can mean death for some
people. Most bites happen in the shallow parts of the ocean. The people that are most likely to
get bit are young adults and children. If you see someone get bit you need to call 911
immediately so that they have a better chance of living. Some symptoms are vomiting, changes
in you vison, and difficulty swallowing. After five to ten minutes you may have a hard time
breathing and you can become paralyzed. If you get a bunch of poison and didn t know that you

Essay on Setting in Greasy Lake by T. Coraghessan Boyle
Greasy Lake by T. Coraghessan Boyle
Nature has a powerful way of portraying good vs. bad, which parallels to the same concept
intertwined with human nature. In the story Greasy Lake by T. Coraghessan Boyle, the author
portrays this through the use of a lake by demonstrating its significance and relationship to the
characters. At one time, the Greasy Lake was something of beauty and cleanliness, but then came to
be the exact opposite. Through his writing, Boyle demonstrates how the setting can be a direct
reflection of the characters and the experiences they encounter.
The lake itself plays a major role throughout the story, as it mirrors the characters almost exactly.
For example, the lake is described as being fetid and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is ironic that not only is the lake named Greasy Lake, but the individuals who hang out there are
also referred to as being greasy characters as well. The 3 main characters find themselves
surrounded by dangerous characters, and get stuck in the middle of a huge fight. As if things aren
t bad enough, the main characters then attempt to rape a girl that is with the man they just fought.
Very soon after more people show up ready to join in the deviant behavior, all while in the
presence of this dirty, disgusting lake. I d struck down one greasy character, and blundered into the
waterlogged carcass of a second (128). No matter what the main characters do, or how they react to
the conflicts presented, they constantly find themselves in the presence of more greasy characters
at the greasy lake.
The author also makes a connection between the lake and the characters in his use of the word
nature. Fairly early in the story Boyle explains that the characters go to the lake to plunge into the
festering murk, drink beer, smoke pot, howl at the stars which again shows us the connection
between the disgusting lake and the deviant teen boys. (125). Boyle then concludes the paragraph
by saying, This was nature, which describes the attitudes and behaviors of the teenagers that go to
the lake (125). Yet towards

Analyzing How Big Data Analytics Is Used For Today s Data...
troduction
Every day, we produce 2.5 quintillion bytes of data. 90% of all data in the world was produced
in the past two years. Data has been around forever; we have always gathered information.
Paleolithic cavemen recorded their activities by carving them in stone or notching them in
sticks. Egyptians used hieroglyphics to record significant events in history. The Library of
Alexandria was home to half a million scrolls of the ancient world. Less than hundred years ago,
we used punch cards to record and store information. As technology continues to evolve, the
amount of data we store continues to grow. We ve come a long way since stone tablets, scrolls,
and punch cards. It s important to understand the concept of big data and the impact is has
created. This paper will define the classifications of data, explain the challenges of big data, and
describe how big data analytics is being used in today s data driven world.
Classifying Data
Data can be classified into three distinct categories: structured, unstructured, and semi structured. It
is important to understand these classifications and the challenges they present.
Structured data follows a specific pattern of organization and is easy to access, manage, and store. It
fits nicely into rows and columns of traditional database management systems.
Unstructured data is unorganized; it follows no specific pattern or order.
It does not fit into rows and columns and cannot be easily accessed, processed or searched. This type

The Revolt Of Mother By Mary E. Wilkins Freeman
The time period between the late 1800s and early 1900s was a ground for many crucial changes
for women and how they were viewed and treated. The right to their children, property, and
earnings was granted to them during this time period ( Women Suffrage in the Progressive Era
American Memory Timeline Classroom Presentation | Teacher Resources Library of Congress ).
Many women, no matter what their occupation might have been, supported this movement (
Women Suffrage in the Progressive Era American Memory Timeline Classroom Presentation |

to clearly displaying the mistreatment that women endured while society viewed it as right. One
writer in particular, Mary E. Wilkins Freeman, published a short storythe displayed the injustice in
the treatment. The Revolt of Motherclearly displays the repression of women in a society much
like the one we live in today, and the story leaves the reader with an essential lesson of standing
up for one s self. This piece of work is heavily influenced by the oppression Freedom faced during
her life time. In Freeman s story Mother is meant to represent every woman, while Father
represents every man. She uses them as a generalization of how each gender views and treats each
other. Mother is displayed in this work as a hard working loyal person. She is viewed as a person
who just wants the best for her family. Her husband, however, is

How Does George Orwell Use Of Authoritarianism
The purpose of this investigation is to examine George Orwell s use of authoritarianism through
his works of 1984, Animal Farm, and Homage to Catalonia from analyzing the question, To what
extent does the portrayal of authoritarianism change? This essay focuses on investigating three of
his works, each of which present a unique society where authoritarianism is portrayed based on
Orwell s own experiences. 1984 and Animal Farm serve as a reflection of Orwell s experiences in
the Spanish Civil War in 1936, and of his perspectives on right wing and left wing. Hence, Homage
to Catalonia was implemented as a demonstration of how it influences Orwell s portrayal of
authoritarianism in his other two works. These works depict various governments

(Driskell 29) These simple carbohydrates are easily broken down, converted into glucose for the
body and easily flow into the blood stream. The downside to this form of carbohydrates is that
they are most common in the form of refined sugars or refined flours which retain very few
vitamins after being processed. ( HealthStyle Fitness ) As the body uses this form of glucose a
cycle begins which involves fluctuations of high and low blood sugar. This cycle works when
blood sugar rises after the consumption of simple carbs and then as the blood sugar begins to
drop the body demands more simple carbs to bring blood sugar levels back to up. The cycle that
is formed essentially keeps the body from burning body fat because there is a continuous
demand and consumption of simple carbohydrates. The second form of carbohydrates is that of
complex carbohydrates which consist of polysaccharides, three or more monosaccharides.
These complex carbs are found in the form of starch, fiber and glycogen (animal starch). Those
complex carbohydrates consumed in the form of starch are found in plant foods like corn,
wheat, potatoes, cereals, pastas, and beans. When they are broken down these carbs allow for the
slow production and release of glucose into the blood stream and allowing for a consistent blood
sugar level. (Guthrie 27) Dietary fiber is another form of complex carbs which are present in plant
foods because fiber is

Bear Creek Ecosystem Lab Report
Introduction In stream based ecosystems, there is a rather delicate balance between the life found
and the relative levels of particular substances in said stream. We use Bioindicators to give us an
idea of the health of a particular ecosystem, which are in turn heavily influenced by the contents of
the environment. Keeping this in mind our group set out to investigate two streams that are in two
completely different areas. This was organized in attempt to get samples from two streams that
would have very distinct contents, serving as a control for our overall hypothesis. Being that the
bioindicators found in each stream would evidently coincide with the levels of substances such as
oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphate to name a few. Organisms... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is difficult to gauge to what extent many of the substances measured by the chem contributed
to the bioindicators considering there was little difference between the majority the
meausrments. However conditions such as temp and pH which showed significant differences
coincide with what we already know of animal ecology and homeostasis. Though we didn t see a
large difference between the ion concentrations, the difference was enough to create slight shifts
in pH such that the stream as whole would be more basic at Cherry Creek as opposed to Bear
Creek which was closer to a neutral pH. Which for most organism is ideal in a habitat allowing
them to regulate their own pH without dangers and thus allowing further reproduction. However
our overall results do not completely account for the differences in pH we saw due to the lack of
measurements of phosphate in the Bear Creek analysis. This would further be exasperated by any
mistakes made in the measurements of oxygen and ammonia. It should also be noted that we also
had to account for the fact that it was summer and thus much hotter than what we would normally
expect; thus if a higher temperature in conjunction with other factors discourages or incourages
bioindicators we would have no way knowing since we cannot create a control for the

Creating A Team Building Culture
Creating a Team Building Culture Recently promoted to President of a national transportation and
logistics company, I quickly realized that the first and most important achievement must be to create
and develop a high performing team with a culture of team building that will spread throughout the
company. Selecting the right people for the management team is essential to the company s success
and the selection process will include consideration of the tasks required of the team members, the
people best suited for the team, and the team s structure. In addition to creating the team, I will
identify how the team will be developed to ensure success in meeting their goals. The development
areas I will focus on our establishing the desired culture, team communication and succession
planning. Last, a competitive incentive pay and recognition program will be implemented to
properly compensate the team members for individual and group successes. Creating the Team
Selecting the right people to join the President in leading the company is essential in meeting the
goals and objectives of the company. The first step in creating the leadership team is to identify the
objectives of the team and the tasks required of the team and its members. The leadership team
must consist of members that are competent in the functional areas required to meet the established
objectives and that have the leadership skills necessary to inspire and motivate others. The last step

Animals Should Not Kill The Animals
Something that I haven t consider is how the way they kill the animals to get the meat. And how
they are treated. They should at least not kill them like that. It horrible the way they do. They are
not thinking what pain and suffer the animals go through when they are killing them savagely. And
how they treat them is no way any human should be treating an animal. They should really
consider other ways of doing it but not in a savagely way.
When chickens are put in cages they are all being stuffed together and they can even stretch out
their wings or even some of them don t even get to see the sun of light or even smell fresh air
from outside because they are all in cages. When they get them out, some farmers throw them
around until they are dead. They will bash their heads with their cages. Or some of the farmers will
slice their throat. When they kill a baby chicken, they don t even let them grow. Ones they are
hatch they get killed. Some of the farmers throw the chickens all together in a bag so they could
suffocate or they will throw them into a machine so they could be killed. It s horrible because they
take them away from their mother when they hatch. When the cows are killed it is horrible they put

Plants Are An Important Part Of The Ecosystem
Plants are an important part of the ecosystem. They provide most of the oxygen on Earth and are
part of the food chain for animals on land and sea (Miller Levine, 2006). Plants are unique in their
manner of reproduction. Some plants do not produce seeds. They reproduce asexually by vegetative
reproduction, producing offspring that are identical to the parent plant(Miller Levine, 2006, p. 622).
Other plants produce seeds and depend on the seeds survival to reproduce. The seed s survival is
dependent on several environmental factors, such as where the seed grows, presence of birds or
other animals that eat the seeds, the temperature, moisture, and nutrient levels of the environment
(Quinn, 2005). For a seed to grow and mature... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Causes And Disadvantages Of Eutrophication
Eutrophication is the process by which an aquatic environment acquires a higher concentration of
two important nutrients: phosphates and nitrates in a certain environment. This promotes excessive
growth of algae on the surface of the water. Living things need some specific nutrients to survive.
Usually nature provides just the specific amount of nutrients, but too many nutrients can cause
dangerous problems to the environment. This is presented in aquatic systems.
However the problems can also increase when aquatic environments such as lakes or rivers have an
overabundance of nutrients, when this happens eutrophication appears. A Eutrophic lake occurs
when there is a presence of too many nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus that is usually as a
result of drainage from surrounding land. When a lake or other aquatic system becomes eutrophic,

Compare And Contrast Plymouth Colony And Roanoke Colony
In 1492 Christopher Columbus discovered the New World. This discovery led to the
colonization of the New World by several European nations. European nations, such as Great
Britain, started colonization for a variety of reasons. The first English colony was Roanoke.
Roanoke was founded in 1585 by Sir Walter Raleigh. The purpose of this colony was to provide
the English a toe hold into the New World. Roanoke Colony was neither profit seeking or
religiously motivated, but by the opportunity to establish a settlement in the New World. The
second English colony was Jamestown. Jamestown was founded by the Virginia Company
which was a joint stock company chartered by King James I. The Virginia Company was made
up of two different parties, each with their own goals. The goal of the monarchy was to convert
Native Americans to Christianity, whereas the goal of the stock holders who funded the colony
was to generate profits. The reason for the location of Jamestown was decided because it was

Movie Review of On the Waterfront
Reaction: On the Waterfront (1956) Even before I saw Eli Kazan s On the Waterfront, I was
familiar with the line of Marlon Brando s: I could have been a contender. I knew, even before
watching the film, that Brando played an ex boxer with broken dreams. I also knew that the
film had been made during the McCarthy era, around the time of the red scare. In the film,
Brando s character Terry Malloy witnesses a murder, and is encouraged to turn in the
perpetrators, even though his union bosses are involved. The film portrays the dockworker
Malloy s decision to come forward as a heroic one, partially rooted in his love for the dead man s
sister Edie. (Edie s brother was killed for the same reason as Terry is being persecuted he
informed on the union bosses). Knowing the back story of the film, I felt somewhat

Sanctuary Cities In 1980
The name sanctuary cities comes from the 1980s protests of federal immigration policies that
refused shelter to refugees from El Salvador and Guatemala. It all began when the Salvadoran
government had inflicted martial law on all its citizens, which in effect pronounced the beginning
of mass killings in the country. The movement was formed to offer protection to these
undocumented refugees that were fleeing the Central American wars that plagued their homes. An
estimated 18,000 to 20,000 people were killed or disappeared in the 1980 s alone. Thousands of
Salvadorans fled the violence, coming north through Mexicoto the United States. In July of 1980,
two dozen or more Salvadorans who were crossing the Sonoran Desert were deserted by their

The Neo-Assyrian Empire
The Assyrians were very successful as empire builders. Although the Sea People destroyed their
domain a couple of times, the Assyrians still managed to revive creating the Neo Assyrian
Empire, in which their realm expanded especially in the Middle East and took control over
Egypt. During the Neo Assyrian Empire, the Assyrians were able to master the skill at using
chariots and the proficiency of iron smelting. They developed iron weapons and the first true
cavalry force that gave them a huge advantage over their neighbors who still used copper and tin
weapons. Consequently, the Assyrians became an unrivaled power over the ancient Near East and
began exploring artworks and ways they could adorn their cities. The Assyrians were also famous
for building great roads that allowed them to move quickly from place to place. Likewise, they

The Persians were well known for their respect for other cultures and religious practices. Cyrus,
the Persian ruler had allowed the Jews to build the Second Temple in Jerusalem and worship as
they pleased. The Persians believed that individuals possess free will and can choose to sin or
not sin (Joshua Cole and Carol Symes 51). Additionally, as the Persians enforced a standardized
currency and a system of weights and measures, it contributed for the trade and commerce
growth. And with the accumulation of wealth, it improved the quality of life. Beyond that, when
Croesus, king of the kingdom of Lydia decided to attack Persia in order to preserve his own
realm from conquest, the Persians were able to counterattack and defeat Croesus forces. Yet,
Cyrus kept Croesus as an advisor rather than a prisoner. A similar action from Cyrus was evident
when he freed the Hebrews who had been held captive in Babylon since 586 B.C.E. These two
actions were enough to conquer people s trust and loyalty and maintain the Persians enormous

Difference Between Edward De Vere And Shakespeare

Edward de Vere and William Shakespeare
The dispute over the true authorship of the First Folio of Shakespeare s Plays (sole authorship or a
partnership of genius like Lennon and McCartney)?
Debate over the true authorship of the First Folio of William Shakespeare s plays began from the
day of its publication (and had been running in the background for many years up until then). The
debate had been fuelled partly by an analysis of William Shakespeare s own character, background,
education and what little was known of his life and travels; also by Shakespeare s participation in
a conspiracy to steal part of the De Vere estate (at a time when the whole earldom was in question

Dental offices have less patients when the economy is lower and the amount of jobs that patients
hold is low. This is because when jobs are lost and money is low the patient s place priority on
other necessities like rent and food rather than on their health. Insurances are lost when job
availability goes down as most patients carry insurances through their employer. Since 2013 a great
recession has occurred that lowered the amount of patients dentist have a day or annually.
According to Dr. Roger P. Levin from Dental Economics, Americans will have less money to
spend on retail and service sector businesses, including dentistry which is estimated to last until
the year 2023. This recession will greatly affects dental offices all over the United States by
lowering the demand of dental care. Another damaging factor to dental professionals is the ever
rising prices of school. According to the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), the
average debt per graduating senior is $247,227. This high level of debt can jeopardize a new
dentist s ability to choose their preferred career path. Dentist are now graduating with large
amounts of debts that affect how well dentist are able to purchase their own practices. This allows

Tb Is A Treatable And Curable Disease Essay
Although the epidemiology is concerning, TB is a treatable and curable disease. The WHO has
detailed guidelines for the treatment of TB, which specifies that successful TB treatment requires
accurate early diagnosis, drug resistance screening, HIV screening, correct drug selection and long
term compliance. (1) The current first line treatment for drug sensitive TB includes an intensive
phase of 2 months and a continuation phase of 4 to 7 months. The drugs used in the initiation phase
include rifampicin (RIF), isoniazid (INH), pyrazinamide(PYR) and ethambutol (EMB), with RIF
and INH being continued until MTB is eradicated. (1) This four drug treatment regimen for drug
sensitive TB disease has been in widespread use for over 20 years, and has achieved cure rates of
more than 95% in trial conditions. (5) However, this regimen also has unwanted aspects, which
include the lengthy duration of the treatment, the side effects the drugs and, more concerning, the
development of drug resistance, have significantly limited its use. (12)
Furthermore, management of MDR TB poses a bigger challenge, since resistance to isoniazid
and rifampicin precludes the use of two key drugs in the anti TB regimen. The treatment of
MDR TB usually involves a combination of drugs chosen from first line and second line anti TB
agents. (13) A lot of medications used in the treatment of MDR TB are classified as second line
because of a high risk of intolerance, reduced potency and a worse side effect

Lab Report On The Lab
1. Accurately records experimental procedures.
I think this objective means that we need to make sure we understand the procedure or steps for
the lab. Knowing the steps for the lab is extremely important because especially in chemistry if
something is done out of order it can be dangerous. So recording the procedure in our lab book is
important. This relates to my major of Political Science in that in Political Science, recording down
things accurately is very important and if something isn t recorded accurately it could be dangerous
like in chemistry lab. In my lab report for the Density Lab I recorded the steps to the lab. The
objective of that lab was to find out what procedure was preferable for finding density. This made it
very important to makes sure the experimental procedure was recorded accurately.
2. Accurately records data, observations, and results. This objective means to record what we
observe and calculate during the experiment as accurately as possible, most errors that occur in
an experiment are due to mistakes when recording data, observations and results. This relates to
my major of Political Science because there is a lot of things one has to record data on based on
observations, and the results of a political science experiment are important because it can change
how the world is looked at, if the data or observations are wrong people are getting inaccurate
information. In my lab book for The Relationship Between the Volume of Gas and Temperature

Animal Farm Literary Analysis
George Orwell, the writer of Animal Farm, Why I Write, and Politics and Language, was arguably
one of the most influential writers of the 1900s. Orwell has written multiple pieces of literature
that have helped him develop his purpose, which is to spread the message that power corrupts and
absolute power corrupts absolutely. Ultimately, Orwell effectively fuses his political and artistic
purpose into a single powerful work of art in his short novel Animal Farm.
One of Orwell s most influential political novels is Animal Farm. Animal Farm is a book about a
group about mistreated and abused animals who overthrow their neglectful owner and form a
new society. Although their society is formed around the idea of equality, it still resulted in chaos.
Orwell wrote Animal Farm as a response to communism in the Russian Revolution. Communism
is extremely similar to the way things worked on Animal Farm... communism always started off
with positive intentions, but ended in chaos. In the novel, Orwell does a good job of showing the
reader that the animals are not undergoing the best conditions, Towards the end of the book,
Orwell says, Starvation seemed to star them in the face. Orwell s novel is filled with symbolism
and irony which helps us infer the specific events and people he references in the book. Orwell
achieved his purpose in the book Animal Farm by shifting the hopeful tone to one of despair.

An Internet Protocol Address ( Ip Address ) Essay
7.1 Description:
An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a numerical label assigned to each participating in a
computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication.
What is an IP address
IP address is a shorter way of saying Internet Protocol address. IP addresses are the numbers
assigned to computer network interfaces. Although we use names to refer to the things we seek on
the Internet, such as www.example.org, computers translate these names into numerical addresses
so they can send data to the right location. So when we send an email, visit a web site, or
participate in a video conference, our computer sends data packets to the IP address of the other end
of the connection and receives packets destined for its own IP address.
Why do we need IP addresses
IP addresses are the numbers that enable our computers, servers, telephones, cameras, printers
and sensors to communicate with each other. Without IP addresses, we would have to copy data
from device to device manually, using CDs, DVDs, hard disks or flash storage, such as a USB
drive. But more importantly, our devices could not send data to each other without human
intervention. Without the IP addresses assigned to our computers, we would have to send paper
letters and memos instead of sending emails. There would be no streaming video sites. Instead,
we would have to send each other discs and tapes. Worst of all, we would not be able to order items
online and would have to go to stores to buy

People in the audience who lost close loved ones in this disaster may not think the other worldly
tragedies Giovanni describes are of the same magnitude as this. For others though these images
she gives may help them connect with the loss some are experiencing. Speeches can affect
people in different ways, some speeches will inspire you, others will make you reflect on your
own life, some will teach you a life lesson, but Nikki Giovanni s poem was meant to bring
together a group of disheartened people. Giovanni s speech did not affect me as intensely as it

When one thinks of marriage, images of happiness, faithfulness, and unconditional love come to

faithful companions to live the rest of their lives together. In The Return of the Native, Thomas
Hardy presents the reader with two pairs of lovers that marry to accomplish personal goals, not

A bewildered Clym answers It is very beautiful. But will you be mine? . Eustacia then asks even

Frustrated with the lack of a solid answer from Eustacia, Clym cries I hate talking of Paris! , but
this does not stop Eustacia s constant flow of questions about the city. This is definitely not the
expected response to a proposal of marriage, and further evidences that Eustacia is more interested
in a possible life in Paris than the love of Clym Yeobright.
Clym Yeobright also is interested in marriage to help carryout his own personal goals in life.
Before the two meet face to face, without the mummer costume, Clym is introduced to Eustacia

Clym ought to check her out. Clym s first response to this is, Do you think she would like to

The Kennedy family name is synonymous with fame and fortune and perfection . But things
have never been perfect behind the scenes of one of the most powerful families in American
history. The first well known Kennedy was Joseph Kennedy. He went to school at Harvard, but
he was not very liked due to his religious practices. He did get married two years after his
graduation to Rose Fitzgerald daughter of the Boston Mayor.( Joseph Kennedy 2). They had a
total of nine children; Joseph Jr., John (Jack), Rosemary, Kathleen, Eunice, Patricia, Robert
(Bobby), Jean, and Edward (Ted).( Joseph Kennedy 2). This was a very large family and he was
able to support them with his work. The Kennedys were one of the most famous families in
politics. People... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A search party was set out to find the three and within the next day the bodies were found at the
bottom of the ocean. The apparent reasoning was not found out until weeks or months later
according to Wilson. Potential reasons the accident could have happened include mechanical
failure, and whether Kennedy s flying was impeded by an injury to his right foot he recently
sustained while paraВgliding.(Wilson 2)
The most depressing Kennedy story is of Rosemary Kennedy. As I was reading the article I was
saddened by what had happened to Rosemary. She was 23 when she disappeared from the public
eye. What happened to her is the worst case in the Kennedy family. Both parents believed that
Rosemary could be cured through a combination of holding her to the same standard as her
siblings, specialized education and experimental injections(Hapsis 3) The reason no one ever
heard what happened is because Joe Kennedy wanted no one to know the evil he had done. Joe
had chosen a surgical procedure, without talking to his wife, where a lobotomy was performed
on her to try and make Rosemary normal . The lobotomy did not do this, it caused Rosemary to
regress to the mental age of a two year old and because of this she could not walk or talk( Hapsis
6). According to Hapsis, Rosemary was no longer mentioned in family letters after 1944, and no
one visited her until 1958 when John secretly went to see her. Rosemary s death was one of the
only natural deaths, she died from old age.

Socialization Chapter 4 Chapter Summaries
Chapter Four Summary This chapter discusses about socialization and the purpose of it. The
process of socialization develops over time as people learn who they are, social and survival skills.
Social behavior is influenced not only by social skills but also biology; this is called
sociobiology. This chapter provides many examples of the problems that occur when children
do not socialize properly within society. For example, Genie Wiley was considered a feral girl;
therefore, she was not accepted by the norms of society. She was thirteen before found by social
workers. Isolated all of her life and still wearing diapers, she was severely neglected. Even with
intense therapy, it was still difficult for her to adjust to society. In addition

Pope Francis Controversy
On the New York Times opinion page Room for Debate, a question was pondered How Radical
is Pope Francis? The debate centers on the issue of whether or not Pope Francis is focused on
spreading Catholic beliefs or on dispersing a liberal point of view. A full version of the text written

However, I believe that people selectively choose what they wish to hear and observe, and just
because the Pope has articulated or conveyed something that people agree with, does not brand him
a conservative or a liberal. Americans today tend to believe that the papacy s standpoint is
connected with the Republican Party. With the election of Pope Francis this view point has begun
to change, and has multitudes of people questioning whether the Catholic Church is aligned with a
political party, and if so which one? Although a radical pope may seem trivial, it is in fact
crucial in terms of today s concerns over political leaders own morals. Whether government
officials view the pope as a political figure and leader this issue is important to the politicians
who adopt the Pope s ideals to support their own claims. Ultimately, this country and others are
governed by men and women each of whom has a religious stance. As a result, it is almost
impossible for governing figure heads to rule without the ideals and morals guided by their culture
s theology. However, the question put forth How Radical is Pope Francis? requires further
examination. In the United States, there is a separation of church and state, but is Pope Francis
aligned with a political party or do Liberals and Conservatives alike align their political agendas
with his theological

High Speed Rail California
costs that come with it such as expanding the local transit systems and upgrading sewer water
facilities. Though these effects are specific to foreign rail systems, conclusions can be drawn about
potential effects of the high speed rail development on California because cities such as Los
Angeles, San Francisco, Anaheim, Bakersfield, and Fresno mimic many of the cities specifically
along the Japanese high speed rail. If completed, the CAHSR would create many economic
opportunities for both the residents of the Central Valley and businesses looking to relocate in order
to lower operating expenses. The first direct benefit of the construction is the construction itself.
According to Kantor, 160,000 construction related jobs will be available... Show more content on

The high speed rail will create accessibility and economic opportunity, which will allow California
to grow. The rail won t create economic development out of thin air though; instead, it is likely to
redistribute California s economic success. As knowledge based industries slowly seep out of San
Francisco and Los Angeles and into the state s Central Valley, Californians will see more high
density development in areas that are currently rural. This will inherently cause increases in wealth
and economic prosperity, which in turn will help the state as a whole. I do, though, have several
recommendations in order to ensure a smooth transition. The first is to ensure that municipalities
can fund infrastructure development that comes as a result of the rail development. There is
undoubtedly going to be spillover effects of the high speed rail project and the state needs to be
prepared to fund these smaller projects. These smaller projects, however, will have spillover effects
of their own. The cycle is self perpetuating that is why these programs must be sustainable. The next
is for developers to avoid attempting to get the highest rents possible right off the bat, but instead
look for long term growth. This benefits the developer, the citizens, and the city. By focusing on
creating new economic hubs, developers can have an active part in the urbanization of smaller
cities. At the same time, citizens and the cities themselves will benefit from new business and
affordable rents and developers will profit in the long run. The third recommendation is to focus on
developing subsidiary transportation means in the local setting. By interconnecting the CAHSR
and smaller transportation networks, the state can incentivize the use of the rail through ease of
access. At the same time, if smaller cities seize the opportunity that the rail presents to enhance their
image, they can attract promising industry and

The US Involvement In The Kyoto Protocol
Global warming has become one of the most complicated issued facing the whole world. It may
cause significant changes in natural, ecological or social systems. Under this circumstance,
developed nations has decided to work together to combat this serious problem. The Kyoto Protocol
is an international agreement linked to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate
Change. Its objective is to make nations that ratified the agreement reduce their emissions of carbon
dioxideand five other greenhouse gases, or engage in emissions trading if they maintain or increase
emissions of these gases toward the target set for each nation. Many countries are trying their best
to support the Kyoto Protocol. On the other hand, some other nations,... Show more content on

Additionally, it is said that the new standard was considering would have caused devastating harm,
wiping out millions of American jobs and costing our economy more than $1 trillion over a decade,
without any significant environmental or health benefits. As we can see these facts, to work on
reducing the greenhouse gas emission, the US has to spend a lot of money. In addition to this fact,
it is obvious that economic growth and increased energy demand are closely linked to increased
emissions of CO2. The US cannot go on achieving the recovery of its economy and the reduction
of greenhouse gas emission at the same time. Therefore, it will take a long time to make the US
get involved in the Kyoto Protocol. It is now busy to rebuild its economy, and doesn t have much
scope to care about this global issue. Out of this economical problem the US facing, there are some
other reasons why the US cannot be active on supporting the Kyoto protocol. I d like to think of
them in the next paragraph.
It is often discussed in the relation to the Kyoto Protocol its exemptions of many nations including
major emission nations like India and China. This is one of the most difficult point regarding the
Kyoto Protocol; at the same time, and one of the reasons why the US cannot be cooperative about
the Kyoto Protocol. China, India, and other developing countries were exempt from the
requirements of the Kyoto Protocol, even though

What Is The Theme Of Darkling By Thomas Hardy
This is a poem written on December 31st, 1899. Hardy wrote it at the end of a century. During
the time that this poem was written there was a lot of violence such as the boxer rebellion,
Philippine American war and the second Boer war, it is important to have a bit of context for the
poem to understand where all the hopelessness is coming from. The words darkling thrush paint a
picture of this little thrush bird trying to break the darkness of the scene and spread hope but
ultimately fails. Darkling means in darkness, or becoming dark, as Hardy can still see the
landscape, and the sun is weakening but not completely set therefore the title could literally mean
the thrush that sang as night was approaching. Hardy starts the poem... Show more content on

Presidential Success And Its Impact On The State Of Nation
Throughout history, presidents have or have not wielded the powers and tools available to them to
further their goals. Examining presidential power and success is to understand presidential
leadership. These top tier individuals elected to the presidency uses the resources and personal
characteristics to lead them to success and greatness, in some cases, some more than others. I have
provided a case study between Presidents Van Buren and Roosevelt to show how the internal and
external factors lead one presidentto be one of the greatest and most successful presidents in U.S
history, while the other is regarded as one of the more unsuccessful and worst presidents.
Presidential success is distinguished between internal and external factors. We should care about
presidential success and greatness because it significantly impacts the state of nation. I argue that
both internal and external factors are most important in determining presidential success.
External Factors
Building a coalition with Congress is vitally important. Presidents want to leave a legacy with
essential legislation. Public policy legislation is especially important to the president because they
want ground breaking policy. Presidents cannot manage the nation by themselves. It is necessary
for Presidents to partner with Congress, even though it is frequently very difficult. The legislative
and executive branches are responsible for compromises that consist of passing laws, adopting
budgets, treaties,

Nietzsche And Mill s Ideas Of Freedom
Free to Disagree A primary objective of identifying common ground between Nietzsche and Mill
s ideas of freedom is to define freedom adequately so that it can be used as a basis for
comparison. Each theorist s opinion on what freedom is, however, appears to be fairly distinct.
Mill might describe freedom as the absence of constraints to original, individual thought,
whereas Nietzsche conceptualizes freedom as continual self overcoming to evolve a more
actualized self. Freedom for Nietzsche is overcoming wrong beliefs and creating one s own
values, whereas for Mill, freedom is having the leeway to discover one s own values. In effect,
Mill focuses on the structural protections or necessities that allow creativity to flourish, and
Nietzsche wants to deconstruct those structures that impede that flourishing. Mill emphasizes
optimizing the political and social realms, which in theory then provide a safe haven for
Nietzsche s intrapsychic or spiritual struggle. Thus, Mill s definition could be described as
political whereas Nietzsche s could be understood as transformational. Both strive toward
achieving the highest level of individual potential, and both want to support discovery of one s
most individualized beliefs. Given that each theorist has such distinct views on the definition itself,
however, one needs to extrapolate the essence of what each would consider freedom to be. So for
the purposes of describing how Mill and Nietzsche intersect, this approximation of a

The True Success Behind Ms. Marvel
In less than a year, that has lasted on shelves, after releasing the new series of Ms. Marvel in
2014 it turned out to be a successful hit. Kamala Khan may be a Muslim but she s still just like
any other ordinary teenage girl who lives in Jersey and faces the same problems: lives with strict
parents, has that one friend who has a secret crush but is never noticed, a small group of friends,
and the desire to be able to fit in with the popular kids at school. This story isn t just about how
any other every day person became to become zero to hero. The true success behind Ms. Marvel
is because it s something different Marvel Comics brings to the readers they don t usually see
comparing to previous superheros. They didn t only bring an urban legend back ..
Even before Kamala came along there were superheros that existed that are Muslim as well. The
99 were a team of superheroes that were all Muslims, which had a crossover once with the Justice
League. Another is member of the X Men, Dust is her name having the ability to transform herself
into a sandstorm. However Kamala is the very first Muslim superhero to have her very own comic,
which makes Ms. Marvel special to the readers.
When they first introduce Kamala in the beginning of the first issue she s at home, sitting in her
room creating Avengersfan fiction on her computer. This shows that she doesn t only lives but

The Influence Of Aristotle s Arguments On Single Time
Aristotle has constructed theories and arguments that set him apart from Socrates and Plato. One of
his arguments allegedly concludes that humans cannot affect the future. Though many find comfort
in this conclusion many find it depressing that they are powerless to create a good future. Aristotle
s argument uses a single linear timeline to show the validity of his claims. However, the
predeterminist idea that everything that happens in the future is one single timeline rather than
countless branches stretched out across time and the reality that is experienced is the branch that is
actualized.
In his argument, Aristotle claims that there are only two possible outcomes for any prediction,
either it is true, or it is false. If the prediction is true, then it was always true that the prediction was
going to be true, and therefore the prediction could never have been false. Because the prediction
could never have been false then the prediction is a necessary truth. This was smart of Aristotle
because, by definition, a necessary truth can never be false. Because the prediction, as a necessary
truth, cannot be made to be false. Therefore, all predictions that are true cannot be changed to be
false. As a result, every event that happens in the future cannot be changed. Additionally, because
anything that could be accurately predicted as true cannot be changed, nothing can change the
events of the future. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is represented in the premise that states that a prediction that is true could not have not been

that allows the possibility of events that truly happen to not have

A Parliamentary Spirit Of Discovery Persuasive Speech
A Renewed Spirit of Discovery was the title of President Bush s speech for his vision of new
Space Exploration. Since the debate was given on January 14, 2004, it has produced viable
concerns from those who support and oppose the initiative. Arguments for and against it have
appeared in all types of media, and more importantly in the minds of Americans. This Literature
Review will discuss many of these beliefs in order to achieve a well rounded, objective analysis of
the issue. But before any opinions are put forth, it is always important to talk about the relative facts.
Why put forth a new vision?
Over past 30 years, it is hard to say that we have explored space. It is more appropriate to say we
have conquered manned flight in Earth s lower orbit. Truly, the Apollo Missions to the moon,
which ended in the mid 70 s, was also the end to Manned Space. We have continued to build
satellites and space stations to orbit the earth, and robots and satellites to explore Mars and Deep
Space. By proposing to put humans on the Moon and Mars, the President has not changed our
manned space exploration policy; he has created one.
President George W. Bush proposed a new age in Space Exploration on January 14, 2004. The
Space Shuttle Columbia disaster was only part of his reasoning for announcing a new direction for
NASA. A reason not as well known is the current lack of any direction for NASA. Other than
sending probes and robots to Deep Space and Mars, NASA has continued to

  • 2. The True Meaning Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet In Shakespeare s romantic and powerful play Romeo and Juliet, the two main characters, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, share a love at first sight moment at a very young age; in no time, their bond becomes unbreakable. Shakespeare clearly and eloquently emphasizes their love throughout the play by using poetic writing and literary devices to show how these two come together and their attraction becomes stronger as the play progresses. Today, most young loves seem to not get the true meaning of lovethat Shakespeare so strongly poses in Romeo and Juliet and think that just being together for a long time or having a great deal of pleasure is considered love . The passionate love that both Romeo and Juliet experience at such a young age through Shakespeare s writing seems outlandish to most young, immature readers today; however, although rare, with responsibility, maturity, and true affection, such love is still possible in this day and age. Today, love is such a commonly used word it almost feels as if people do not even realize what they are mean when they use the word. People seem to use the term for not just their own lovers or family members the main things that we should love but materialistic things such as phones, presents, and other rather meaningless temporary things in our everyday lives. People all over the world hear other people saying I love this and I love that, and do not recognize that they do not know what they are truly saying. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Lewis And Clark Dbq Analysis The American travelers Lewis, and Clark embarked on a journey, discovering new lands and space bought from the French. Along the way they encountered numerous tribes, and numerous Natives who have aided them in many ways, but new evidence states that the legendary cartographers were in fact very impolite people. Many people debate about it, but were Lewis and Clark respectful to the Natives they met on their journey? They weren t in fact respectful at all. They left a medal on a dead Native to sprout fear between the people, and rid the Natives of their land to poor soil, as well as used their own belief and religion against them. According to Lewis s diary entry (Doc B), While the men were preparing the horses, I put four shields and two bows and quivers of arrows which had been left [by the Indians] on the fire... I also retook the flag but left the medal about the neck of the dead man that they might be informed who were. Lewis left the medal on the deceased male to inform the others who they were. This means that they want to make the people of the tribe aware of who was in charge , and what would happen if anyone stepped out of line. This is disrespectful because that was a person they cared about and to mock, and use him inhumanely is truly preposterous!... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead of simply showing gratitude for the aid on their journey, they are kicked off their land and given poorer, underutilized grounds to live upon. The white people took land that was already theirs and decided to purposely cause cultural genocide for the Natives. • 5. Dulce Et Decorum Est And Buttons The average life expectancy, for a soldier, in the deadly trenches that fortified the outlines of no man s land, during World War One, was only 6 weeks. (War History) Although war can be seen as glorious, people often forget about these tragedies. In the poems Dulce Et Decorum Est, by Wilfred Owen, and Buttons, by Carl Sandburg, the catastrophes of war are brought to the eyes of public, as the authors make an attempt to save the souls of thousands of young boys everywhere by bringing to light the misunderstanding that society has about war. In the year 1915 Wilfred Owen experienced war first hand when he enlisted in the Manchester Regiment. During Owen s time in war, he suffered from a mental illness once known as Shell Shock, more commonly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sandburg does this as he describes the horrendous deaths of soldiers Ten thousand men and boys twist on their bodies in a red soak along a river s edge, Gasping of wounds Carl Sandburg explains to people that the death of a soldier during war is never as beautiful as society has been tricked into thinking it is. Carl then acknowledges how oblivious society is to this Who would guess what it cost to move two buttons one inch . Sandburg uses this to express how society underestimates how painful the death of a soldier is. Just as Owen experienced war, Sandburg experienced a different war in a similar way. As Sandburg fought in the Spanish American war and journalized World War One, he learned that war is not what people said it would be. He understands the complete and utter horror of the murder of a soldier. By mocking society s opinion of a soldier s life Sandburg hopes to disregard society s misinterpretations of war and explain how it is inhumane for a person to go through a ... • 6. Should Prison Gangs Become More Prevalent Inside Our... Prison gangs within the penal system are problematic and a multifaceted issue for several reasons. One reason gangs are so problematic in the penal system is due to the threat they impose on others, including other types of gang bangers, non gang affiliated inmates, correctional staff, prison administration, and the overall security of the facility itself. According to research, A composite measure of gangmisconduct represents the threat that particular gangs pose to prison order (Gaes, Wallace, Gilman, Saffron, Suppa, 2002). In fact, There is little doubt that prison gangs are the source of considerable misconduct and present serious challenges to the management of prisons, which is why numerous strategies have been employed to control and suppress gang activity (Pyrooz Mitchell, 2015). Why are prison gangs becoming more prevalent inside our nation s prison system? Since the 1950s, prison gangs have developed in American prisons more rapidly than in the previous years. Correction staff recognizes some prison gangs as being a security threat group or STG. A security threat group is a term for prison gangs that describes how they negatively impact the security of prison operations (Smallagher Smykla, 2015). Gangs have increased in size and popularity with the penal system because of desegregation with the facilities. After desegregation happened in the 1960s, inmates regarded desegregation as a need to join together racially, especially as a means of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Persuasive Essay On Fast Food As time has passed, Americans have become downright lazy and inconsiderate when it comes to preparing their meals. They substitute fresh, nutritional, balanced meals for a big mac on their way to work. Since Americans have become so lazy, the emphasis is on quick service rather than the quality of the food. Open 24/7! It takes two hands to hold a whopper! There s fast food, then there s KFC! Your way, right away! As Americans continue to fill their bodies with fatty, processed, fake food, people around the world starve, and their access to clean drinking water is limited. So how is America to help? Now, when I state this, know it is not for my own gain. I am not starving, malnourished, nor am I grossly obese. This is simply a gain for the world, so that we may help those in need. In order for fast food chains to shut down, we would need to get rid of the obese people. How do we do this in a civil manner? Feed them to the malnourished. Now I know what you re thinking what is considered obese? Some people work out excessively, and a healthy 400 pound male that can lift that weight has a higher BMI because of the muscle. I mean to say the large ones, made entirely out of excess fat, the meat ready to slide off their bones the way it slides off of Colonel Sander s chicken. By feeding these overweight people to the malnourished, we not only will solve world hunger, but this will solve overpopulation. People over the BMI of 30 + will be put to death, and for a reasonable, redeeming cause. Those who are 18 will receive the meat of the generous donors. Those in the healthy range will continue to eat the way they do, while being monitored by a doctor, of course, so we can watch their eligibility for being overweight. Those who are overweight put on a watch list. The lower the BMI on the overweight side, the less you are to be harassed by the government. If you re teeter tottering on the obese line, you are put in a hospital, so that as soon as you can be put to slaughter, it s done. Not only will this solve world hunger and overpopulation, but America won t need volunteers to go over to these underdeveloped, third world countries, which will spare our time and supplies. Why would we waste our precious ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Essay on Setting in Greasy Lake by T. Coraghessan Boyle Greasy Lake by T. Coraghessan Boyle Nature has a powerful way of portraying good vs. bad, which parallels to the same concept intertwined with human nature. In the story Greasy Lake by T. Coraghessan Boyle, the author portrays this through the use of a lake by demonstrating its significance and relationship to the characters. At one time, the Greasy Lake was something of beauty and cleanliness, but then came to be the exact opposite. Through his writing, Boyle demonstrates how the setting can be a direct reflection of the characters and the experiences they encounter. The lake itself plays a major role throughout the story, as it mirrors the characters almost exactly. For example, the lake is described as being fetid and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is ironic that not only is the lake named Greasy Lake, but the individuals who hang out there are also referred to as being greasy characters as well. The 3 main characters find themselves surrounded by dangerous characters, and get stuck in the middle of a huge fight. As if things aren t bad enough, the main characters then attempt to rape a girl that is with the man they just fought. Very soon after more people show up ready to join in the deviant behavior, all while in the presence of this dirty, disgusting lake. I d struck down one greasy character, and blundered into the waterlogged carcass of a second (128). No matter what the main characters do, or how they react to the conflicts presented, they constantly find themselves in the presence of more greasy characters at the greasy lake. The author also makes a connection between the lake and the characters in his use of the word nature. Fairly early in the story Boyle explains that the characters go to the lake to plunge into the festering murk, drink beer, smoke pot, howl at the stars which again shows us the connection between the disgusting lake and the deviant teen boys. (125). Boyle then concludes the paragraph by saying, This was nature, which describes the attitudes and behaviors of the teenagers that go to the lake (125). Yet towards ... • 11. Analyzing How Big Data Analytics Is Used For Today s Data... troduction Every day, we produce 2.5 quintillion bytes of data. 90% of all data in the world was produced in the past two years. Data has been around forever; we have always gathered information. Paleolithic cavemen recorded their activities by carving them in stone or notching them in sticks. Egyptians used hieroglyphics to record significant events in history. The Library of Alexandria was home to half a million scrolls of the ancient world. Less than hundred years ago, we used punch cards to record and store information. As technology continues to evolve, the amount of data we store continues to grow. We ve come a long way since stone tablets, scrolls, and punch cards. It s important to understand the concept of big data and the impact is has created. This paper will define the classifications of data, explain the challenges of big data, and describe how big data analytics is being used in today s data driven world. Classifying Data Data can be classified into three distinct categories: structured, unstructured, and semi structured. It is important to understand these classifications and the challenges they present. Structured data follows a specific pattern of organization and is easy to access, manage, and store. It fits nicely into rows and columns of traditional database management systems. Unstructured data is unorganized; it follows no specific pattern or order. It does not fit into rows and columns and cannot be easily accessed, processed or searched. This type ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Revolt Of Mother By Mary E. Wilkins Freeman The time period between the late 1800s and early 1900s was a ground for many crucial changes for women and how they were viewed and treated. The right to their children, property, and earnings was granted to them during this time period ( Women Suffrage in the Progressive Era American Memory Timeline Classroom Presentation | Teacher Resources Library of Congress ). Many women, no matter what their occupation might have been, supported this movement ( Women Suffrage in the Progressive Era American Memory Timeline Classroom Presentation | Teacher Resources Library of Congress ). Female Writers were extremely proactive when it came to clearly displaying the mistreatment that women endured while society viewed it as right. One writer in particular, Mary E. Wilkins Freeman, published a short storythe displayed the injustice in the treatment. The Revolt of Motherclearly displays the repression of women in a society much like the one we live in today, and the story leaves the reader with an essential lesson of standing up for one s self. This piece of work is heavily influenced by the oppression Freedom faced during her life time. In Freeman s story Mother is meant to represent every woman, while Father represents every man. She uses them as a generalization of how each gender views and treats each other. Mother is displayed in this work as a hard working loyal person. This essay focuses on investigating three of his works, each of which present a unique society where authoritarianism is portrayed based on Orwell s own experiences. 1984 and Animal Farm serve as a reflection of Orwell s experiences in the Spanish Civil War in 1936, and of his perspectives on right wing and left wing. The Vegetarian Times recently found that out of the 311 million people in the US, 7.3 million eat a vegetarian based diet and 22.8 million eat a vegetarian inclined diet. The downside to this form of carbohydrates is that they are most common in the form of refined sugars or refined flours which retain very few vitamins after being processed. ( HealthStyle Fitness ) As the body uses this form of glucose a cycle begins which involves fluctuations of high and low blood sugar. This cycle works when blood sugar rises after the consumption of simple carbs and then as the blood sugar begins to drop the body demands more simple carbs to bring blood sugar levels back to up. The cycle that is formed essentially keeps the body from burning body fat because there is a continuous demand and consumption of simple carbohydrates. The second form of carbohydrates is that of complex carbohydrates which consist of polysaccharides, three or more monosaccharides. These complex carbs are found in the form of starch, fiber and glycogen (animal starch). Those complex carbohydrates consumed in the form of starch are found in plant foods like corn, wheat, potatoes, cereals, pastas, and beans. When they are broken down these carbs allow for the slow production and release of glucose into the blood stream and allowing for a consistent blood sugar level. We use Bioindicators to give us an idea of the health of a particular ecosystem, which are in turn heavily influenced by the contents of the environment. Keeping this in mind our group set out to investigate two streams that are in two completely different areas. This was organized in attempt to get samples from two streams that would have very distinct contents, serving as a control for our overall hypothesis. Being that the bioindicators found in each stream would evidently coincide with the levels of substances such as oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphate to name a few. Organisms... Though we didn t see a large difference between the ion concentrations, the difference was enough to create slight shifts in pH such that the stream as whole would be more basic at Cherry Creek as opposed to Bear Creek which was closer to a neutral pH. Which for most organism is ideal in a habitat allowing them to regulate their own pH without dangers and thus allowing further reproduction. However our overall results do not completely account for the differences in pH we saw due to the lack of measurements of phosphate in the Bear Creek analysis. This would further be exasperated by any mistakes made in the measurements of oxygen and ammonia. It should also be noted that we also had to account for the fact that it was summer and thus much hotter than what we would normally expect; thus if a higher temperature in conjunction with other factors discourages or incourages bioindicators we would have no way knowing since we cannot create a control for the ... Creating A Team Building Culture Creating a Team Building Culture Recently promoted to President of a national transportation and logistics company, I quickly realized that the first and most important achievement must be to create and develop a high performing team with a culture of team building that will spread throughout the company. Selecting the right people for the management team is essential to the company s success and the selection process will include consideration of the tasks required of the team members, the people best suited for the team, and the team s structure. In addition to creating the team, I will identify how the team will be developed to ensure success in meeting their goals. The development areas I will focus on our establishing the desired culture, team communication and succession planning. Last, a competitive incentive pay and recognition program will be implemented to properly compensate the team members for individual and group successes. Creating the Team Selecting the right people to join the President in leading the company is essential in meeting the goals and objectives of the company. The first step in creating the leadership team is to identify the objectives of the team and the tasks required of the team and its members. They should at least not kill them like that. It horrible the way they do. They are not thinking what pain and suffer the animals go through when they are killing them savagely. And how they treat them is no way any human should be treating an animal. They should really consider other ways of doing it but not in a savagely way. When chickens are put in cages they are all being stuffed together and they can even stretch out their wings or even some of them don t even get to see the sun of light or even smell fresh air from outside because they are all in cages. When they get them out, some farmers throw them around until they are dead. They will bash their heads with their cages. Or some of the farmers will slice their throat. When they kill a baby chicken, they don t even let them grow. Ones they are hatch they get killed. Some of the farmers throw the chickens all together in a bag so they could suffocate or they will throw them into a machine so they could be killed. It s horrible because they take them away from their mother when they hatch. When the cows are killed it is horrible they put them a machine that spins them around and then they slice their throat. • 19. Causes And Disadvantages Of Eutrophication Eutrophication is the process by which an aquatic environment acquires a higher concentration of two important nutrients: phosphates and nitrates in a certain environment. This promotes excessive growth of algae on the surface of the water. Living things need some specific nutrients to survive. Usually nature provides just the specific amount of nutrients, but too many nutrients can cause dangerous problems to the environment. This is presented in aquatic systems. However the problems can also increase when aquatic environments such as lakes or rivers have an overabundance of nutrients, when this happens eutrophication appears. Roanoke Colony was neither profit seeking or religiously motivated, but by the opportunity to establish a settlement in the New World. The second English colony was Jamestown. Jamestown was founded by the Virginia Company which was a joint stock company chartered by King James I. The Virginia Company was made up of two different parties, each with their own goals. The goal of the monarchy was to convert Native Americans to Christianity, whereas the goal of the stock holders who funded the colony was to generate profits. Movie Review of On the Waterfront Reaction: On the Waterfront (1956) Even before I saw Eli Kazan s On the Waterfront, I was familiar with the line of Marlon Brando s: I could have been a contender. I knew, even before watching the film, that Brando played an ex boxer with broken dreams. I also knew that the film had been made during the McCarthy era, around the time of the red scare. In the film, Brando s character Terry Malloy witnesses a murder, and is encouraged to turn in the perpetrators, even though his union bosses are involved. The film portrays the dockworker Malloy s decision to come forward as a heroic one, partially rooted in his love for the dead man s sister Edie. (Edie s brother was killed for the same reason as Terry is being persecuted he informed on the union bosses). Knowing the back story of the film, I felt somewhat uncomfortable rooting for Brando to turn in his bosses, given that the film could be read as a defense of turning in people during the McCarthy era. The film portrays unions as made up of villains. Malloy is one of them a union member until he becomes so tormented by his conscience he cannot help but come forward. He cannot live with himself unless he speaks. Eventually, because of the public courage of his convictions, the other longshoremen side with Terry. Orwell has written multiple pieces of literature that have helped him develop his purpose, which is to spread the message that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Ultimately, Orwell effectively fuses his political and artistic purpose into a single powerful work of art in his short novel Animal Farm. One of Orwell s most influential political novels is Animal Farm. Animal Farm is a book about a group about mistreated and abused animals who overthrow their neglectful owner and form a new society. Although their society is formed around the idea of equality, it still resulted in chaos. Orwell wrote Animal Farm as a response to communism in the Russian Revolution. Although we use names to refer to the things we seek on the Internet, such as www.example.org, computers translate these names into numerical addresses so they can send data to the right location. In Nikki Giovanni s poem We Are Virginia Tech, which was spoken at a memorial ceremony for Virginia Tech shooting victims, she uses her tone and a repetition of words to make her speech very powerful. The tone of her voice is very distinct, she speaks with poise and confidence, while remaining remorseful but positive... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People in the audience who lost close loved ones in this disaster may not think the other worldly tragedies Giovanni describes are of the same magnitude as this. For others though these images she gives may help them connect with the loss some are experiencing. Speeches can affect people in different ways, some speeches will inspire you, others will make you reflect on your own life, some will teach you a life lesson, but Nikki Giovanni s poem was meant to bring together a group of disheartened people. Giovanni s speech did not affect me as intensely as it did to the families of the victims who actually saw her give the speech. Similar to whether you are seeing a photo of a piece of artwork or seeing it in person, seeing or hearing a recording of a speech it will affect you differently. Sontag says, real art has the capacity to make us nervous (Sontag 759). This speech is meant to bring out the sadness, but also the hope for a better future that people are feeling. Preston Risser said, her poem brought out the hurt people were feeling and brought awareness to the situation at hand. As seen in the video people are either crying after she is finished, or standing up with a newfound inspiration to stand tall and put this tragedy in the past. The way a piece of art might make you feel does not have to be displayed by some physical expression, it can be an emotion that is kept inside. In relation to how Nikki ... Personal Goals Influencing Marriage in the Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy When one thinks of marriage, images of happiness, faithfulness, and unconditional love come to mind. Marriages are not for allowing two lovers to accomplish personal goals, but rather for faithful companions to live the rest of their lives together. In The Return of the Native, Thomas Hardy presents the reader with two pairs of lovers that marry to accomplish personal goals, not because of a mutual love and a desire to obtain a lifelong soul mate. Hardy reveals the true motives governing the participants in the novels marriage alliances: Eustacia, Clym, Thomasin, and Wildeve marry to carry out their individual plans for the future, rather than for love ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A bewildered Clym answers It is very beautiful. But will you be mine? . Frustrated with the lack of a solid answer from Eustacia, Clym cries I hate talking of Paris! , but this does not stop Eustacia s constant flow of questions about the city. This is definitely not the expected response to a proposal of marriage, and further evidences that Eustacia is more interested in a possible life in Paris than the love of Clym Yeobright. Clym Yeobright also is interested in marriage to help carryout his own personal goals in life. Before the two meet face to face, without the mummer costume, Clym is introduced to Eustacia by Sam the turf cutter. Sam reports to Clym that Eustacia is a handsome girl (Page 183) and that Clym ought to check her out. Clym s first response to this is, Do you think she would like to teach children? (Page 183). This brief passage shows that when presented with the opportunity to marry, Clym first thinks about the possibility that she would be willing to help him in his desire to run a school. As the relationship between the two progresses, Clym talks to his mother about his intent to marry Eustacia. Naturally, Mrs. Yeobright objects. With the election of Pope Francis this view point has begun to change, and has multitudes of people questioning whether the Catholic Church is aligned with a political party, and if so which one? Although a radical pope may seem trivial, it is in fact crucial in terms of today s concerns over political leaders own morals. Whether government officials view the pope as a political figure and leader this issue is important to the politicians who adopt the Pope s ideals to support their own claims. Ultimately, this country and others are governed by men and women each of whom has a religious stance. Though these effects are specific to foreign rail systems, conclusions can be drawn about potential effects of the high speed rail development on California because cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Anaheim, Bakersfield, and Fresno mimic many of the cities specifically along the Japanese high speed rail. If completed, the CAHSR would create many economic opportunities for both the residents of the Central Valley and businesses looking to relocate in order to lower operating expenses. The high speed rail will create accessibility and economic opportunity, which will allow California to grow. The rail won t create economic development out of thin air though; instead, it is likely to redistribute California s economic success. As knowledge based industries slowly seep out of San Francisco and Los Angeles and into the state s Central Valley, Californians will see more high density development in areas that are currently rural. This will inherently cause increases in wealth and economic prosperity, which in turn will help the state as a whole. I do, though, have several recommendations in order to ensure a smooth transition. The first is to ensure that municipalities can fund infrastructure development that comes as a result of the rail development. There is undoubtedly going to be spillover effects of the high speed rail project and the state needs to be prepared to fund these smaller projects. These smaller projects, however, will have spillover effects of their own. The cycle is self perpetuating that is why these programs must be sustainable. The next is for developers to avoid attempting to get the highest rents possible right off the bat, but instead look for long term growth. This benefits the developer, the citizens, and the city. By focusing on creating new economic hubs, developers can have an active part in the urbanization of smaller cities. At the same time, citizens and the cities themselves will benefit from new business and affordable rents and developers will profit in the long run. The third recommendation is to focus on developing subsidiary transportation means in the local setting. By interconnecting the CAHSR and smaller transportation networks, the state can incentivize the use of the rail through ease of access. At the same time, if smaller cities seize the opportunity that the rail presents to enhance their image, they can attract promising industry and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In addition to this fact, it is obvious that economic growth and increased energy demand are closely linked to increased emissions of CO2. Examining presidential power and success is to understand presidential leadership. These top tier individuals elected to the presidency uses the resources and personal characteristics to lead them to success and greatness, in some cases, some more than others. I have provided a case study between Presidents Van Buren and Roosevelt to show how the internal and external factors lead one presidentto be one of the greatest and most successful presidents in U.S history, while the other is regarded as one of the more unsuccessful and worst presidents. Presidential success is distinguished between internal and external factors. We should care about presidential success and greatness because it significantly impacts the state of nation. I argue that both internal and external factors are most important in determining presidential success. External Factors Building a coalition with Congress is vitally important. Presidents want to leave a legacy with essential legislation. Public policy legislation is especially important to the president because they want ground breaking policy. • 52. Nietzsche And Mill s Ideas Of Freedom Free to Disagree A primary objective of identifying common ground between Nietzsche and Mill s ideas of freedom is to define freedom adequately so that it can be used as a basis for comparison. Each theorist s opinion on what freedom is, however, appears to be fairly distinct. Mill might describe freedom as the absence of constraints to original, individual thought, whereas Nietzsche conceptualizes freedom as continual self overcoming to evolve a more actualized self. Freedom for Nietzsche is overcoming wrong beliefs and creating one s own values, whereas for Mill, freedom is having the leeway to discover one s own values. In effect, Mill focuses on the structural protections or necessities that allow creativity to flourish, and Nietzsche wants to deconstruct those structures that impede that flourishing. Mill emphasizes optimizing the political and social realms, which in theory then provide a safe haven for Nietzsche s intrapsychic or spiritual struggle. Thus, Mill s definition could be described as political whereas Nietzsche s could be understood as transformational. Both strive toward achieving the highest level of individual potential, and both want to support discovery of one s most individualized beliefs. Given that each theorist has such distinct views on the definition itself, however, one needs to extrapolate the essence of what each would consider freedom to be. One of his arguments allegedly concludes that humans cannot affect the future. Though many find comfort in this conclusion many find it depressing that they are powerless to create a good future. Aristotle s argument uses a single linear timeline to show the validity of his claims. However, the predeterminist idea that everything that happens in the future is one single timeline rather than countless branches stretched out across time and the reality that is experienced is the branch that is actualized. In his argument, Aristotle claims that there are only two possible outcomes for any prediction, either it is true, or it is false. If the prediction is true, then it was always true that the prediction was going to be true, and therefore the prediction could never have been false. Because the prediction could never have been false then the prediction is a necessary truth. This was smart of Aristotle because, by definition, a necessary truth can never be false. Because the prediction, as a necessary truth, cannot be made to be false. Therefore, all predictions that are true cannot be changed to be false. Since the debate was given on January 14, 2004, it has produced viable concerns from those who support and oppose the initiative. Arguments for and against it have appeared in all types of media, and more importantly in the minds of Americans. This Literature Review will discuss many of these beliefs in order to achieve a well rounded, objective analysis of the issue. But before any opinions are put forth, it is always important to talk about the relative facts. Why put forth a new vision? Over past 30 years, it is hard to say that we have explored space. It is more appropriate to say we have conquered manned flight in Earth s lower orbit. Truly, the Apollo Missions to the moon, which ended in the mid 70 s, was also the end to Manned Space. We have continued to build satellites and space stations to orbit the earth, and robots and satellites to explore Mars and Deep Space. By proposing to put humans on the Moon and Mars, the President has not changed our manned space exploration policy; he has created one. President George W. Bush proposed a new age in Space Exploration on January 14, 2004. The Space Shuttle Columbia disaster was only part of his reasoning for announcing a new direction for NASA.
