Communicative Approach To Language Teaching
In the long history of language learning, especially in the case of learning English as L2,
educationalists have been tirelessly trying to explore more and more practical approaches that ranged
from conventional methods like Grammar translation method, Direct method, Situational Language
Teaching etc., to the latest mode of communicative approach. The conventional teaching methods the
unsuccessful result of the earlier language theories, were proved to be ineffective, because it was felt
in all the methods, that the learners were passive and the teaching learning process was mechanical.
Hence during the 1960s, a new trend of language teaching called Communicative Language Teaching
paved its way into classrooms in the early 1960 s and has been widely acclaimed by educationists so
far. The present paper glimpses briefly the emergence of the learner friendly, ... Show more content on

Corporate Management Theories
Group 1
Corporate Governance
Theories of corporate management and Process
Definition:
According to the business directory, management theory is a collection of ideas which set forth
general rules on how to manage a business or organization. Management theory addresses how
managers and supervisors relate to their organizations in the knowledge of its goals, the
implementation of effective means to get the goals accomplished and how to motivate employees to
perform to the highest standard.
Nexus of Contracts Theory
Nexus of Contracts Theory argues that the firm, or the modern corporation, is a complex adaptive
system comprised of definable subsystems, called stakeholders. A stakeholder is any individual or
group of individuals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So the basic argument is that the various stakeholder groups come to the bargaining table with
competitive disadvantages, and that Stockholder Theory often leads to the exploitation of employees,
consumers, financiers, suppliers, and/or local communities. In other words Stakeholder Management
implies a special moral obligation to advance the interests of the least advantaged (or the most
vulnerable) stakeholders.
Stakeholder theorists focus more on public property, economic security of all stakeholders, and follow
their manta: When in Rome do what s right.
What role should government play?
Stakeholder Theory seeks to empower government to protect the least advantaged stakeholders;
usually employees and consumers. Hence Stakeholder theorists tend to support policies such as a
social safety net and/or a living wage. However, Stockholder Theorists prefer to address the needs of
the least advantaged via individual philanthropy and/or voluntary associations rather than government
programs.
Stockholder Theory of Corporate Management
Leaders are morally and legally obligated to serve as agents of the stockholders, and advance their
interests regardless of how those decisions might affect the other stakeholders.
Whose Ends are Served by the Corporate Leaders?
Stockholder Theory states that the CEO is an agent hired by stockholders (or owners), and therefore
he/she is legally and morally obligated to serve their

The Bill Becomes A Law Essay
The process in which a bill becomes a law can be a lengthy one; it must go through many steps in
order to become the law of the land. It is believed that this process should be a matter that every
American citizen should be informed of in order to fully understand and appreciate the inner workings
of congress with regard to The House of Representatives and the Senate. The steps in which a bill
becomes a law is an example of the democratic way of life here in The United States. The fact that a
proposal cannot become a law without consideration and approval by both houses of congress is an
outstanding virtue of our bicameral legislative system. (Maes 1 2) Anyone can create a bill not just a
member of congress. Any citizen, group or organization can draw up a bill just from an idea. The right
to petition is guaranteed by the first amendment. These bills are usually written in the form of a letter.
It is estimated that more then 15,000 bills are introduced to The House of Representatives and the
Senate each year. Each one is then assigned to a committee after it is given a number. Twenty two of
these committees belong to The House of Representatives and fifteen to the Senate. There are four
types of committees, they are; the Standing Committee, The Select Committee, The Conference
Committee and The Joint Committee. The Standing Committee deals with issues regarding permanent
legislation. The Select Committee deals with temporary issues that are in need of

Theme Of Death Of A Salesman
Death of Salesman In Theatre Mitu s hyper theatrical production of Death of A Salesman by Arthur
Miller, many aspects were added to heighten the messages and morals of the story about the American
Dream. The stage is a fluorescently lit square with no set pieces besides a black chair that sits in the
center. Once the characters enter many things are different from a typical production of Death of
Salesman. The costumes resemble the traditional idea, but with a twist. Willy wears a white collared
shirt, but the upper sleeves are ripped off, so when he wears his blazer during the flashbacks, you can
not see the missing sleeves. Linda wears a dress resembling a maid or a housewife. Both Linda and
Willy wear masks with wrinkles when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The other characters are used as pawns to convey this story of loss and regret. Therefore, we no longer
see these characters as people, but more as passing ideas. The director confronts the materialistic
values of the American Dream and how quality of life is measured by what you own, how good of a
job you have, and how well you are liked by others.
The objectification of the other characters is obvious in Happ being a literal punching bag. This
displays the abuse and rejection he receives from his family. In one of the first scenes of the play Biff
begins to punch Happ in a playful way, but as the show progresses Linda strikes the punching bag
when she is yelling at the boys about abandoning their father. By doing this the lens of the story is
narrowed to the Lomans, and even smaller, to the relationship between Biff and Willy. As a teenager,
Willy puts pressure on Biff to be everything he was never able to be. Biff is the star football player
and plans to attend a good college. He is supposed to bring honor to the Loman name, but when he
fails Biff s facade is dropped and Willy only sees him as a failure which he is responsible for. This is
visible in the flashbacks by Willy addressing Biff s football gear as Biff himself, but in the present Biff
only carries his football gear in his hand.
Willy carries around an open, empty briefcase

Fat Embolism Case Study
1. Define Disease process: blockage of an artery usually by a blood clot however can be a fat, or air
embolism in the lungs. In this paragraph I will be discussing each type. However, for this SIM our
patient will have a blood clot (DVT deep vein thrombosis) that breaks off and travels to the lungs
where it is lodged causes a rapid onset of problems. First I will talk about a fat embolism Fat
embolism is a process that fat tissue passes into the bloodstream that travels through the bloodstream
and lodges and blocks a blood vessel. This typically occurs between 12 to 36 hours after an injury. A
fat embolism almost always occurs with major trauma or an elective surgery that requires
intramedullary nailing of long bones. Although a fat embolism is rare it leads to occlusion ... Show

It is usually presented by a classic triad of symptoms: 1.) respiratory changes; 2.) neurological
abnormalities; 3.) petechial rash. The client will normally present first with respiratory changes such
as dyspnoea, tachypnoea, and hypoxemia and can progress to respiratory failure. One half of the
clients with a fat embolism caused by a long bone fracture will develop severe hypoxaemia and
respiratory insufficiency and will require mechanical ventilation. Neurological changes resulting from
cerebral embolism produces signs in 86% of cases and often occur after respiratory distress. The
changes vary from mild confusion to severe seizures. The most common being confusion with focal
neurological signs such as hemiplegia, aphasia, apraxia, and anisocoria. The third in the triad the
petechial rash will be the last to develop and it occurs in 60% of the cases. The rash is due to
embolization of small dermal capillaries leading to extravasation of erythrocytes. The rash is in the
conjunctiva, oral mucous membranes, and skin folds of the upper body. The rash appears within the

Essay on Art11 Compare and Contrast Essy
Compare and Contrast Duccio, Madonna and Child Gauguin, La Orana Maria Madonna and Child is a
panel painting by Italian medieval artist Duccio di Buoninsegna. Painted in tempera and gilded on a
wood panel in around the year 1300, the Madonna and Child is still in its original engaged frame. The
fact that it was in private hands and out of public circulation for years might be why the painting is
basically intact after 700 years. The craftsmanship and preservation are simply amazing. The damaged
lower edge of the frame is charred where devotional candles may have tipped over. The Madonna and
Child is presently part of a special exhibition The Philippe de Montebello Years: Curators Celebrate

Soon after his death his work became more valuable. Gauguin paintings rarely go up for sale but their
price could go as high as $39 million. In The Orana Maria, Gauguin was depicting Tahitian life and he
used an intense tropical color palette of reds and purples. Duccio s Madonna and Child used the
Byzantine mosaic style color scheme of rich blue, red and gold backgrounds. The Duccio and the
Gauguin were both signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner of the painting. The title of la
Orana Maria is actually painted in the lower right hand corner of the painting in a bright orange box.
In the Orana Maria you can see the texture of the oil paint on the canvas from the brush that was used.
The Madonna with Child is a panel painting. A carpenter would construct a solid wood piece the size
of the panel needed. It would be planed and sanded and if needed, joined with other pieces to obtain
the desired size and shape. The wood would be coated with a mixture of animal skin glues and resin
and covered with linen (the mixture and linen combination was known as a size ); this might be done
by a specialist, or in the artists studio. Once the size had dried, layer upon layer of gesso would be
applied, each layer sanded down before the next applied, sometimes as many as 15 layers, before a
smooth hard surface emerged, not unlike ivory. However impeccably preserved you can still see the
cracks and aging of the paint used in

Deuteronomistic Themes In 1 Samuel
Secondly, Saul s home was most likely Gibea or some place close to it. Therefore, some have
concluded that the possibility of mixed marriages with new comers, since Gibeonites, who were from
Edomite territories, settled in the land of Benjamin. This is the possible reason why the genealogy of
Saul does not indicate where his father s home is; it was not known or it was deleted.
Summary
In this section historical information concerning the lives of Saul and Samuel have been discussed.
Such information will enlighten ones cultural and contextual study of 1 Samuel 8 15. Moreover, the
reader will have more insight into the referential world of the author, thereby allowing one to discern
their intended meaning.
Theological Overveiw
It is conceivable that Deuteronomistic themes exist within 1 Samuel since it is accepted to be part of
the Deuteronomistic History. Three main Deuteronomistic theological themes or concerns are evident
within 1 Samuel.
First, foreseeing the day that Israel would have a king, expressed in Deuteronomy are instructions for
such a time. At this point it should be noted that the idea of Israel having a king, began in the mind of
God. Contrary to what some believe about the idea of kinship and God s supposed disdain for it,
Howard mentions the fact that God has spoken of kings to Abraham from the beginning (Gen. 17:6,
16; 35:11) ; furthermore, he noted that the problem with anointing a king was intention of the people
to be like the nations

A Relationship Between Project Team Integration And The...
Sustainable construction When it comes to building assessment methods, this theme led to many and
different forms of studies on the relationship between the project team integration and the sustainable
construction. Comparing dominant construction strategies with sustainable construction, Lutzkendorf
Lorenz (2011) argue that, on one hand, sustainable construction requires greater disciplinary
specialization and greater functional dependence between components. On the other hand, traditional
construction, which in turn depends on greater integration between project team members (Robichaud
Anantatmula, 2011; Rohracher, 2001). There are also research based on empirically point of view, a
number of scholars have tried to test such claims by developing quantitative indices for different
dimensions of project team integration and sustainable construction and by examining the statistical
relation between them. For example, Mollaoglu Korkmaz, Swarup, James Whitcomb Riley (2013)
examined the relation between project delivery methods, project team integration and LEED building
scores in 12 case studies in the United States. They operationalized integration by the early
collaboration of the project s participants, the chemistry among participants and the timing and
method of communication (Mollaoglu Korkmaz, Swarup, Riley, 2013). The research found the
expected relation between project team integration and procurement method (with American

Peter Barnes, Howard , Robert H and . There are 2 main characters in the film. Avital is charming as
Scheherezade and Dougray Scott is amazing as Sultan Shahryar. And the rest of the supporting actors

suitable for all ages. One thing that I think viewers won t appreciate in the film is that its way too long
and it s hard to catch up with the movie. For a busy person who doesn t have enough free time, it s
going to be hard for them to watch a 175 minute long movie. But still, this film isn t just for your past
time because you will learn lessons that are applicable in real life. You just have to look for it deeper
or understand the movie even more. Also, another thing that is not good in this movie is that I had a
hard time understanding their dialogues because of their accent and the sound isn t that loud. And
lastly, it is really worth watching because it s not a common kind of film for us living in the 21st
century so it ll really make you step out of your comfort zone and appreciate the old kinds of film like

We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach there are a group of kids in their last year of highschool. There
was the athlete, slut, over achiever, and the slacker. They received news that there was a 66.6% chance
an asteroid will demolish the earth in 2 months. After that the city went into mayhem, the government
placed a curfew and the national police came. Criminals rose up and people stopped going to work
and school. SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT!!! Anita the over achiever and
Andy the slacker wanted to celebrate the end of the world so they made a party where anyone and
everyone could come the night before the supposed asteroid would crash. One day Peter the athlete
needed to find his punk sister Misery and she was at this party and while he was getting her the police
came and luckily he escaped but they took all the teenagers to the police. Eliza the slut was also
brought to the police and she plotted a way to send a picture to her friends so someone can get them.
Andy the slacker knew where they took all the kids and Peter,Anita, and Andy protested to let all the

Buck And White Fang Research Paper
Buck and White Fang:
Similarities and Differences
Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them and filling a space we didn t even know we
had. ―Thom Jones. This quote almost perfectly fits Buck from The Call of the Wild and White Fang
from White Fang , both written by Jack London. Buck and White Fang are both alike and different
throughout their stories.
At the beginning of their stories, Buck and White Fang are both alike and different. First, both dogs
are mixed breeds. For example, Buck is half Saint Bernard and half Scottish Sheppard while White
Fang is half husky and half wolf. Since both dogs are half one breed and half the other, this is a
similarity. Second, they are both big and strong with high intelligence and ... Show more content on

First, Buck and White Fang are both sold to cruel masters who both mistreat them. For example, Hal,
Mercedes, and Charles become Buck s new masters and Hal nearly beats Buck to death with a club
while Beauty Smith constantly taunts White Fang to keep fighting, even though he is being killed by
the British bulldog. Since both masters are mean to their dogs, this is a similarity. Second, Buck and
White Fang both help their masters make a lot of money. For instance, Buck saves John Thornton for
drowning, then he wins John Thornton $1,600 by pulling a 1,000 pound sled for 100 feet while White
Fang saves Jack Conroy when his gold mine caves in and helps him strike rich when his paws reveal
gold dust from a vein of gold. Since both dogs help their owns get rich, this is a similarity. Last, Buck
and White Fang live their lives out differently. For example, Buck becomes a leader of a wild wolf
pack and the legendary Ghost Dog while White Fang returns to Jack Conroy after he sets White Fang
but White Fang returns to Jack and becomes his domesticated companion. Since Buck and White Fang
live their lives out differently, this is a difference between the two. In conclusion, Buck and White

Sui Dynasty
In China, after the fall of the classical period, it was put in a state of chaos and confusion since there
was no apparent ruler. There were different leaders that would take place for when China would
restore its power, and there were mainly three the Sui, Tang, and Song, in that particular order. China
was revived in the 6th century but was abused for about four centuries. The Sui dynasty began to rise
because of a fight against Chinese control during early 580. Wendi, a northern Chinese noble, formed
a marriage alliance with the northern Zhou ruler. Wendi took that empire from his son in law and
received support from surrounding nomads to strengthen his title without Confucian ideals. His
empire spread into northern China. Because of Wendi s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although people could rise to such a high position, birth, family, ethnic, and regional influence also
affected whether or not someone got that position. Positions were mostly reserved for old aristocracy
and low sons and grandsons that belonged to the imperial household. Most nomadic pre Tang rulers
were Buddhist. After the Han fall, Buddhist divisions grew in China and were specially modified with
Chinese qualities, especially in the Tang dynasty. Daoist monks and Confucius scholar administrators
were against Buddhist ideas, and they made sure that the ruler knew that the monastery was not taxed,
meaning less money, and the people of those monastic lands could not get work, which means on

resources, especially after donating much to Buddhism, therefore demolishing Buddhist monasteries
and shrines, and monks and nuns had to forsake their monastic orders and become civilians again. The
Tang empire disappeared after, at the end of the 9th century, the last emperor was forced to resign.

Essay on Neisseria gonorrhoeae
Neisseria gonorrhoeae
Introduction
Neisseria gonorrhoeae is the obligate human pathogen that causes the sexually transmitted disease
(STD) gonorrhea. This Gram negative diplococci/gonococci does not infect other animals or
experimental animals and does not survive freely in the environment. The gonococcal infection occurs
in the upper or lower tract, pharynx, ophthalmic area, rectum, and bloodstream. During the 1980 s
gonorrhea was also referred to as the clap when public awareness was quite minimal. This was one of
the venereal diseases prostitutes hoped to contract since it resulted in infertility by pelvic
inflammatory disease (PID). As documentation, diagnostic testing, and public awareness improved,
there has been a decline ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the gonococci gain entrance into the mucous membranes of these areas, they target columnar
non ciliated epithelial cells. Neisseria gonorrhoeae uses a type IV pilus (twitches, forms bundles and
able to take up DNA) to anchor itself at the infection site. The pilE gene has been found to be the main
factor for adherence to epithelial cells. In a study, missense mutations of the pilE gene revealed altered
fiber morphology. PilE mutants had a defect in filament assembly, hence, less adherence to human
epithelial cells. In a wild type sample there are significant interconnections of cells, then compared to
a sample with a missense PilE polypeptide, we can see reduced interconnections of the cells and
filamentous structure. These defects only are expressed when the pilT gene is activated. Spread
Spread occurs via oral, vaginal, and anal sexual contact through the routes of penis vagina, penis
mouth, penis anus, mouth vagina, and mouth anus. During childbirth, infants contract the infection in
the birth canal resulting in bilateral conjunctivitis. Intimate contact is required to infect another
person, therefore, the myth of contracting the disease by toilet seats is a myth.
Multiplication
Replication of gonococci begin with the adherence to non ciliated cells resulting in death triggered by
the lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Once the ciliary beat is impaired, the bacteria cannot be cleared from
the mucosal

Hollis s 1995 study focused on the effects of technology on young learner s enthusiasm for learning
science inside and outside of the classroom. This area of focus studied how implementing technology
to teach science concepts impacted student s motivation for learning science in the classroom. The
teacher researcher s study involves both teaching and learning as it focused on properly training
teachers how to use and implement technological tools and software. Once teachers knew how to

An Analysis on the Works Of Ida B. Wells Essay
In the words of Miss Ida B. Wells: The student of American sociology will find the year of 1894
marked by a pronounced awakening of the public conscience to a system of anarchy and outlawry
which had grown during a series of ten years to be so common, that scenes of unusual brutality failed
to have any visible effect upon the humane sentiments of the people of our land. She is depicting a
period of time in American history stained with the blood of hundreds of free African American men,

Twenty first century reporters fill the airwaves with news pertaining to facets of life entirely opposite
of awareness and activism. When news regarding anything aside from the lives of celebrities or
current pop culture does make the headlines, the story seems presented in a watered down, somehow
censored, fashion; leaving the reader asking more questions than they received answered. As the major
methods of mass media become increasingly consumer driven, the great majority are presented with
less mentally stimulating material called news . As a result, Americans are often less informed, and
thus less willing to become involved in, political, social, and economic issues, nation and worldwide.
Through the application of relevant and straightforward journalism, like that practiced by Ida B.
Wells, the people of this country may be armed with the knowledge needed to have an effect on the
events unfolding today that will affect tomorrow.
In each of her three bodies of work Wells takes time to carefully explain the objective for the
publication of the document while outlining a plan of action in order to go about obtaining said
objective. She maintains a universal purpose throughout her campaign, which can simply be
summarized as a desire to place the facts before the American people and later before the world with
her ultimate goal being to intervene boldly

The government of Spain actively supports the small business sector of the economy. As of 2006 there
were over 3 million small and medium sized businesses in Spain, representing over 99% of all
businesses in the country. The Spanish government provides various grants and incentives for the
creation and expansion of small businesses in Spain as well as support and services to business
owners. Recent government campaigns and initiatives have focused on support for entrepreneurs,
primarily in response to Spain s economic goals for the future. Increasing competitiveness and
promoting innovation were identified as key strategies to maintain, grow and keep Spain s economy
dynamic (Dreamer, 2008). The key factors such as strong economy, large population base, expansive
tourist trade and active government involvement provide a strong argument for migration into Spain s
marketplace.
Reasons for Expansion
Jamba has become a way of life for millions of Americans and the company believes that they can
extend that opportunity to Spain and other international marketplaces. A recent Piper Jaffray report

Analysis Of Angela Carter s Post Modern Rendition, Tiger...
When you think of the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast, what do you remember? In the typical plot
of Beauty and the Beast, Beauty aids the Beast in his transformation from beast to man. The focus of
the typical storyline is the battle between innate traits and characteristics accepted by society.
However, in Angela Carter s post modern rendition, Tiger s Bride, not only does she shift the focus to
explore the relationship between love and self acceptance, but she also changes the plot in efforts to
make Beauty undergo a transformation. Through Carter s tone, exploration of power dynamics, and
use of imagery, the story follows the progression of the love and self acceptance that influences
Beauty s metamorphosis.
Within the story, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the moment between Beauty and the Beast continues, she feels as if [she is] within the field of
force of his golden eyes (81). This line signifies how much attraction lies between the two characters
as Beauty feels that she s in the field of force , keeping her entranced with him. Consequently, each
stroke of his tongue rip[s] off skin after successive skin (81), releasing Beauty from any remaining ties
to society and allowing her to have freedom. By removing each layer of skin , the Beast ultimately
unleashes Beauty s true identity, giving her the opportunity to fully accept herself without the pressure
to conform by society. With Carter s use of tone, the audience gains the ability to explore how the love
of the Beast causes Beauty to not only discover who she truly is, but also learn how to accept herself.
Similarly, Carter explores the power dynamics between the Beast and Beauty, drawing attention to
how outside forces allow a person to develop self acceptance. In the beginning, Carter introduces the
audience to Beauty who has autonomy, yet still complies to societal norms. When she encounters the
Beast after she s left in the castle alone, she decides that she will not smile (69) at him, simply because
she does not want to. By choosing to not smile at the Beast, she defies the typical role of a female in a
fairy tale. However, the influence of society still has an impact on her because when she

Catholic Education Research Paper
I cannot describe what Catholic Education means to me currently without recalling what it once meant
to me. Catholic Education meant different things to me at different stages of my life. From
kindergarten to around grade 5, Catholic Education was just education. I knew public schools existed.
I understood that Catholic schools engaged students in the Catholic faith. Like my peers I would pray,
listen during religion lessons, and sit cross legged on the gymnasium floor, cramped together with 500
other students. The masses meant nothing to me. (They really just meant discomfort because my legs
would always fall asleep.) I listened to most lessons passively all the time, and religion lessons were
no exception. Prayers were only memorized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I came to conclusions about my faith and Catholic Education. Catholic Education still does not mean
much to me. However, it brings together people who (most of the time) come from a
Catholic/Christian backgrounds, and creates a sense of community. For that I appreciate Catholic
Education. What I do not find as nice about Catholic schools is that despite being centred around
religion, people in Catholic schools can be just as mean spirited, rude, and uncompassionate as people
in public schools, if not worse. I am aware that it is unrealistic to assume that those in Catholic schools
are all wonderful people, but I find reality ironic. In my opinion, Catholic Education is like public
education, except Catholic students have school masses and are obligated to take religion courses. As I
introduced previously, being subject to Catholic Education and those devoutly religious for the better
part of 13 years has guided me to my brand of Catholicism so to speak. Catholic Education has
inadvertently, or possibly intentionally, started me off on my own spiritual path by showing me what I
do not like about Catholicism (eg. the belief that not going to church is bad). Spirituality and personal
religious beliefs are lifelong works in progress, and I suppose that without Catholic Education my
progress would have started later in my

Identity In The 19th Century
IDENTITY CRISIS IN SELECT NOVELS OF SALMAN RUSHDIE The question of identity is the
most controversial issue in postcolonial time and literature and it can be regarded the most important
because of its crisis exist in all postcolonial communities. Due to the circumstances of post colonial
era and the problematic conditions that faced newly freed nations and countries in their search and
formation of self identity the crisis floated on the surface. In the following of World War II, the act of
decolonization and libration of nations under colonial rule provoked a noteworthy move in the
direction of recreating social and individual identities. The period also marked by the struggle of

Since the identity is not a stable and fixed notion as Hall confirms ―Identity emerges as a kind of
unsettled space or an unresolved question in that space, between a number of intersecting discourses
and the impact of colonial legacy was multi dimensional besides there was a different consequences of
colonialism in different locations, the issue of identity appeared in different shapes and forms.
Collective and individual identities also differ physically and psychologically. The resistance of
decolonization process took various outlines due to countries, societies and individuals. Therefore,
identity is not simply imposed. It is also chosen, and actively used, albeit within particular social
contexts and constraints. Against dominant representations of others there is resistance. Within
structures of dominance, there is agency.
Identity crisis is the major suffering of the many people in the present day world. It is quite natural
every one thinks of their own identity to grow themselves with self respect. Afro American, British
and Indian every writer nowadays focused their writings keeping in the mind the sense of identity.
There is no exception to the writer like Salman Rushdie. His novels also reflect the question of
identity and explore the philosophical significance of ideals and concepts.

Betrayal In King Lear Essay
In King Lear by William Shakespeare, betrayal plays an important role throughout this story. The
foreshadow to heartbreaks and other awful leading events begin with one of the many motifs/themes
to this story, betrayal. In the beginning of the story, as Lear conducts his love test Goneril and Regan

not follow with her sister s praise Lear feels betrayed and embarrassed by her. He decides to get his
revenge and decides to disown Cordelia by saying Here I disclaim all my paternal care (pg. 5). The
betrayal continues to go back and forth as Lear feels Cordelia s love is not pure or true meanwhile,
Cordelia feels the exact opposite. In this specific part of the story betrayal is being used to portray the
easy access to power and success as well as losing it. Be as well neighbored, pitied, and relieved, as

The Physics of Football Essay
The Physics of Football
There is no question that everything people do in their lives involves physics. This is true from the
way we communicate to the way that we fight wars. In some cases the influence of the laws of physics
on our world are extremely apparent, such as in sports. Basketball, hockey, baseball and even cricket
involve physics. From the most basic motions players perform in the game, to different plays designed
by coaches, physics touches it all. These appearances of physics in the games that we play are
sometimes so subtle we don t even notice them. In other cases however, the impact of physics can be
heard across the stadium as Jerome The Bus Bettis barrels his way into the endzone. The influences of
physics on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance a wide receiver whose game depends greatly on being able to accelerate quickly will
prefer to play on an artificial surface with less friction. When a player gets in the open field he may be
capable of reaching his maximum momentum. When this player s momentum is suddenly changed
either with a great tackle or one hell of a hit the laws of physics concerning collisions, both elastic and
inelastic, come into play.
An elastic collision is a collision in which kinetic energy is conserved, such as when a running back is
hit so hard by the opposing team s linebacker on a lead draw play up the middle that the ball is forced
out of his arms. The fumbled ball then hits the turf and because of the elasticity of the collision it
bounces back up. Unlike an elastic collision, an inelastic collision does not conserve the kinetic energy
of the colliding objects (Kirkpatrick Wheeler 134). An example of an inelastic collision might be
when a player catches the ball (if he catches the ball) and the momentum of the ball is completely
stopped. However it is important to realize in this study of physics that a completely inelastic collision
is impossible to attain in the real world because the energy isn t really lost it is just converted into
different forms such as the sound the collision makes. So in a play where a ball carrier is in the open
field, a would be tackler would try to apply an impulse in an attempt to stop the other

Summary Of Hard Times By Charles Dickens
Angelina Almanzar
ENGL 35701: 19th Century British Novel
Professor Elizabeth Weybright
27 June 2016
Utilitarianism in Hard Times
During the Victorian Era, many philosophers focused on utilitarian philosophy and ways of thinking,
choosing the best decisions and actions for their own self interest. In his novel, Hard Times, Charles
Dickens satirizes the English educational system, society, and economics, but most importantly,
through them, he criticizes the many abuses of utilitarianism. Many writers such as Bornali Nath
Dowerah and Ali Taghizadeh have done research on Dicken s work mostly focusing on utilitarianism
and its negative impacts on society especially on those of the lower class.
Charles Dickens, the most renowned social commentator of his time, criticized the ills of society as he
commiserates with those who were affected the most by social and economical abuses. According to
the article Charles Dickens as Social Commentator and Critic published on the Victorian Web
(www.victorianweb.org/authors/dickens/diniejko.html), Dickens was not only very successful in
exposing what was wrong with society, but also in exposing the ills of the utilitarian theory which at
the time rejected the human imagination or fancy. Utilitarianism is an ethical theory which as we may
know recommends ethical recommendations for everyday life, thus making hard decision making
easier for us. This theory mostly focuses on moral action, holding on to the belief that people s

Standardized Testing Argument
A Standardized test is a form of test that all students across the nation take at one point. These tests are
federally mandated, timed, and designed to measure students performance in basic subjects. All
students receive the same questions on the test so it s supposed to be multiple choice questions that fits
all students. Standardized testing does not measure the knowledge of students, although many schools
require students take them.
One of the main reasons schools claim to use standardized testing is to compare performance levels of
different students in different locations around the nation, but this is an unreliable way to do so.
According to many studies, such tests decrease student motivation and increase their stress and
anxiety. Far too much emphasis is put into standardized tests to the point where teachers are teaching
to the test rather than making sure real learning is taking place. Students aren t learning everything
that is part of their curriculum. Too much focus is directed to ... Show more content on

They claim testing not only can measure the ability of students, but the school education system as a
whole. Results inform the nation whether students are mastering the so called critical skills and
knowledge being taught to them. At this point, struggling students can be aided in the direction they
should go to improve and reach the overall goal set for them. For this reasoning, opponents argue that
standardized testing is a good after all. Though they do make a fair point, we can t overlook the fact
there are too many factors that play a role in the testing which can likely result in unreliable and
inaccurate outcomes. Ultimately, students are capable of different and amazing things, therefore their
abilities should not be determined off a test given to every single one of their

Rhetorical Analysis Of Meryl Streep
Timeless actress and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, Meryl Streep, in her Cecil B. DeMille
Award acceptance speech during the Golden Globe Awards, condemns President Donald Trump s
mockery of a disabled reporter. Streep s purpose is to galvanize the prestigious audience into using
their platforms to coalesce the nation and call out injustice. She adopts a humble tone in order to
establish herself as an equal among her fellow actors all the while creating a sense of unity in her
audience of renowned Hollywood stars. Streep, before mentioning Trump, gains the trust of her
audience by uniting them with meaningful pathos. ...You and all of us in this room really belong to the
most vilified segments in American society right now, (Streep, para.2). By using the words you , us ,
and belong , she links every actor, from the bit parts to the leading roles. Streep further unites her
audience throughout her speech, but introducing the concept early on enhances its importance to her.
Before she asks her audience to use their platforms to do good, Streep further elevates each actor in
the room, regardless of their merit, to be on the same level of distinguishability. But who are we, and
what is Hollywood anyway? It s just a bunch of people from other places, (Streep, para.3). This
statement is common knowledge, but she elaborates as she goes on to describe the birthplaces of
various Hollywood stars. From Ohio to Jerusalem, South Carolina to Ethiopia, Streep utilizes logos by
listing off different homelands to prove that even A list celebrities come from hometowns just as
modest as up and coming starlets. By doing so, her audience members feel as equally respected as
award winning actress Streep which makes them feel equally as capable to bring about change. Streep
does not actually mention Trump until the second half of her speech in order to first gain the trust of
her audience. While speaking about Trump, she uses anaphora to discuss power. Someone he
outranked in privilege, power, and the capacity to fight back, and, And this instinct to humiliate, when

Mass Wasting Experience
I am going to wright about how I would respond if a mass wasting event destroyed my home. I am
going to assume that I did not know about the risk of mass wasting when I purchased my home. With
that said, I would be very angry at the city for not informing me about such a risk. I would also be
very angry at myself for not doing research and for not applying the principles I have learned in this
class when it comes to purchasing a home. This class has taught me the type of areas that are prone to
mass wasting. I know that I should not purchase a house in the mouth of a canyon, on existing old

How comforting this thought is! Not even death, even from a seemingly pointless disaster, can
separate me from my family. I understand how people who view death as the ultimate end can view
deadly disasters as the ultimate end of their purpose in life. With that said, the gospel does not take
away the pain that comes with the death of a loved one, but it does make the pain bearable. This week
I learned about various mass wasting events that have impacted cities around the world. These events
have forever changed landscapes, killed thousands, destroyed entire cities, furthered scientific
research, and have impacted the lives of all those caught with in its path. On a scientific level I have
learned where not to build or purchase a house. However, perhaps the most valuable thing I have
learned from this activity is how the gospel is incorporated within every aspect of our lives, even
natural disasters. Stanley Hauerwas, author of the article Go With God argues that the light of Christ
can be seen within every subject we study. To see this light requires faith and an intellectual mind. If a

The Grapes Of Wrath By John Steinbeck
Pecunia Præstat Hominibus A United Kingdoms survey found that child parent relationships are
breaking down as parents put work before their children, especially in middle class families (Ross).
This statistic can explain many of the darker portions of our culture, from the lack of complete
families to the increase of drug abuse. Yet one may wonder how this is in any way connected to the
novel, The Grapes of Wrath. However, both the statistic and the novel have a similar theme Money
being placed before people. John Steinbeck endeavors to teach us how dangerous and common this
mindset can be through his novel. Although there are some instances of the Okies aiding one another,
money before people is a central theme in The Grapes of Wrath because it is the main source of
motivation for the antagonism displayed towards the Okies. money before people is a common,
recurring theme in the novel. As soon as the fifth chapter of The Grapes of Wrath, this theme is
introduced. When the landowners come to take the Okies lands, the narrator introduces the theme as
an invisible monster. He remarks, Some of (the landowners) hated the mathematics that drove them,
and some were afraid, and some worshiped the mathematics because it provided a refuge from thought

  • 2. Communicative Approach To Language Teaching In the long history of language learning, especially in the case of learning English as L2, educationalists have been tirelessly trying to explore more and more practical approaches that ranged from conventional methods like Grammar translation method, Direct method, Situational Language Teaching etc., to the latest mode of communicative approach. The conventional teaching methods the unsuccessful result of the earlier language theories, were proved to be ineffective, because it was felt in all the methods, that the learners were passive and the teaching learning process was mechanical. Hence during the 1960s, a new trend of language teaching called Communicative Language Teaching paved its way into classrooms in the early 1960 s and has been widely acclaimed by educationists so far. • 3. Corporate Management Theories Group 1 Corporate Governance Theories of corporate management and Process Definition: According to the business directory, management theory is a collection of ideas which set forth general rules on how to manage a business or organization. Management theory addresses how managers and supervisors relate to their organizations in the knowledge of its goals, the implementation of effective means to get the goals accomplished and how to motivate employees to perform to the highest standard. Nexus of Contracts Theory Nexus of Contracts Theory argues that the firm, or the modern corporation, is a complex adaptive system comprised of definable subsystems, called stakeholders. A stakeholder is any individual or group of individuals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So the basic argument is that the various stakeholder groups come to the bargaining table with competitive disadvantages, and that Stockholder Theory often leads to the exploitation of employees, consumers, financiers, suppliers, and/or local communities. In other words Stakeholder Management implies a special moral obligation to advance the interests of the least advantaged (or the most vulnerable) stakeholders. Stakeholder theorists focus more on public property, economic security of all stakeholders, and follow their manta: When in Rome do what s right. What role should government play? Stakeholder Theory seeks to empower government to protect the least advantaged stakeholders; usually employees and consumers. Hence Stakeholder theorists tend to support policies such as a social safety net and/or a living wage. However, Stockholder Theorists prefer to address the needs of the least advantaged via individual philanthropy and/or voluntary associations rather than government programs. Stockholder Theory of Corporate Management Leaders are morally and legally obligated to serve as agents of the stockholders, and advance their interests regardless of how those decisions might affect the other stakeholders.

  • 5. The Bill Becomes A Law Essay The process in which a bill becomes a law can be a lengthy one; it must go through many steps in order to become the law of the land. It is believed that this process should be a matter that every American citizen should be informed of in order to fully understand and appreciate the inner workings of congress with regard to The House of Representatives and the Senate. The steps in which a bill becomes a law is an example of the democratic way of life here in The United States. The fact that a proposal cannot become a law without consideration and approval by both houses of congress is an outstanding virtue of our bicameral legislative system. (Maes 1 2) Anyone can create a bill not just a member of congress. Any citizen, group or organization can draw up a bill just from an idea. The right to petition is guaranteed by the first amendment. These bills are usually written in the form of a letter. It is estimated that more then 15,000 bills are introduced to The House of Representatives and the Senate each year. Each one is then assigned to a committee after it is given a number. Twenty two of these committees belong to The House of Representatives and fifteen to the Senate. There are four types of committees, they are; the Standing Committee, The Select Committee, The Conference Committee and The Joint Committee. The Standing Committee deals with issues regarding permanent legislation. The Select Committee deals with temporary issues that are in need of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Theme Of Death Of A Salesman Death of Salesman In Theatre Mitu s hyper theatrical production of Death of A Salesman by Arthur Miller, many aspects were added to heighten the messages and morals of the story about the American Dream. The stage is a fluorescently lit square with no set pieces besides a black chair that sits in the center. Once the characters enter many things are different from a typical production of Death of Salesman. The costumes resemble the traditional idea, but with a twist. Willy wears a white collared shirt, but the upper sleeves are ripped off, so when he wears his blazer during the flashbacks, you can not see the missing sleeves. Linda wears a dress resembling a maid or a housewife. Both Linda and Willy wear masks with wrinkles when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The other characters are used as pawns to convey this story of loss and regret. Therefore, we no longer see these characters as people, but more as passing ideas. The director confronts the materialistic values of the American Dream and how quality of life is measured by what you own, how good of a job you have, and how well you are liked by others. The objectification of the other characters is obvious in Happ being a literal punching bag. This displays the abuse and rejection he receives from his family. In one of the first scenes of the play Biff begins to punch Happ in a playful way, but as the show progresses Linda strikes the punching bag when she is yelling at the boys about abandoning their father. By doing this the lens of the story is narrowed to the Lomans, and even smaller, to the relationship between Biff and Willy. As a teenager, Willy puts pressure on Biff to be everything he was never able to be. Biff is the star football player and plans to attend a good college. He is supposed to bring honor to the Loman name, but when he fails Biff s facade is dropped and Willy only sees him as a failure which he is responsible for. This is visible in the flashbacks by Willy addressing Biff s football gear as Biff himself, but in the present Biff only carries his football gear in his hand. Essay on Art11 Compare and Contrast Essy Compare and Contrast Duccio, Madonna and Child Gauguin, La Orana Maria Madonna and Child is a panel painting by Italian medieval artist Duccio di Buoninsegna. Painted in tempera and gilded on a wood panel in around the year 1300, the Madonna and Child is still in its original engaged frame. The fact that it was in private hands and out of public circulation for years might be why the painting is basically intact after 700 years. The craftsmanship and preservation are simply amazing. Soon after his death his work became more valuable. Gauguin paintings rarely go up for sale but their price could go as high as $39 million. In The Orana Maria, Gauguin was depicting Tahitian life and he used an intense tropical color palette of reds and purples. Duccio s Madonna and Child used the Byzantine mosaic style color scheme of rich blue, red and gold backgrounds. The Duccio and the Gauguin were both signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner of the painting. The title of la Orana Maria is actually painted in the lower right hand corner of the painting in a bright orange box. In the Orana Maria you can see the texture of the oil paint on the canvas from the brush that was used. The Madonna with Child is a panel painting. A carpenter would construct a solid wood piece the size of the panel needed. It would be planed and sanded and if needed, joined with other pieces to obtain the desired size and shape. The wood would be coated with a mixture of animal skin glues and resin and covered with linen (the mixture and linen combination was known as a size ); this might be done by a specialist, or in the artists studio. Once the size had dried, layer upon layer of gesso would be applied, each layer sanded down before the next applied, sometimes as many as 15 layers, before a smooth hard surface emerged, not unlike ivory. • 9. Deuteronomistic Themes In 1 Samuel Secondly, Saul s home was most likely Gibea or some place close to it. Therefore, some have concluded that the possibility of mixed marriages with new comers, since Gibeonites, who were from Edomite territories, settled in the land of Benjamin. This is the possible reason why the genealogy of Saul does not indicate where his father s home is; it was not known or it was deleted. Summary In this section historical information concerning the lives of Saul and Samuel have been discussed. Such information will enlighten ones cultural and contextual study of 1 Samuel 8 15. Moreover, the reader will have more insight into the referential world of the author, thereby allowing one to discern their intended meaning. Theological Overveiw It is conceivable that Deuteronomistic themes exist within 1 Samuel since it is accepted to be part of the Deuteronomistic History. Three main Deuteronomistic theological themes or concerns are evident within 1 Samuel. First, foreseeing the day that Israel would have a king, expressed in Deuteronomy are instructions for such a time. At this point it should be noted that the idea of Israel having a king, began in the mind of God. Contrary to what some believe about the idea of kinship and God s supposed disdain for it, Howard mentions the fact that God has spoken of kings to Abraham from the beginning (Gen. 17:6, 16; 35:11) ; furthermore, he noted that the problem with anointing a king was intention of the people to be like the nations ... • 10. A Relationship Between Project Team Integration And The... Sustainable construction When it comes to building assessment methods, this theme led to many and different forms of studies on the relationship between the project team integration and the sustainable construction. Comparing dominant construction strategies with sustainable construction, Lutzkendorf Lorenz (2011) argue that, on one hand, sustainable construction requires greater disciplinary specialization and greater functional dependence between components. On the other hand, traditional construction, which in turn depends on greater integration between project team members (Robichaud Anantatmula, 2011; Rohracher, 2001). There are also research based on empirically point of view, a number of scholars have tried to test such claims by developing quantitative indices for different dimensions of project team integration and sustainable construction and by examining the statistical relation between them. For example, Mollaoglu Korkmaz, Swarup, James Whitcomb Riley (2013) examined the relation between project delivery methods, project team integration and LEED building scores in 12 case studies in the United States. They operationalized integration by the early collaboration of the project s participants, the chemistry among participants and the timing and method of communication (Mollaoglu Korkmaz, Swarup, Riley, 2013). Once the gonococci gain entrance into the mucous membranes of these areas, they target columnar non ciliated epithelial cells. Neisseria gonorrhoeae uses a type IV pilus (twitches, forms bundles and able to take up DNA) to anchor itself at the infection site. The pilE gene has been found to be the main factor for adherence to epithelial cells. In a study, missense mutations of the pilE gene revealed altered fiber morphology. PilE mutants had a defect in filament assembly, hence, less adherence to human epithelial cells. In a wild type sample there are significant interconnections of cells, then compared to a sample with a missense PilE polypeptide, we can see reduced interconnections of the cells and filamentous structure. These defects only are expressed when the pilT gene is activated. Spread Spread occurs via oral, vaginal, and anal sexual contact through the routes of penis vagina, penis mouth, penis anus, mouth vagina, and mouth anus. During childbirth, infants contract the infection in the birth canal resulting in bilateral conjunctivitis. Intimate contact is required to infect another person, therefore, the myth of contracting the disease by toilet seats is a myth. When a player gets in the open field he may be capable of reaching his maximum momentum. When this player s momentum is suddenly changed either with a great tackle or one hell of a hit the laws of physics concerning collisions, both elastic and inelastic, come into play. An elastic collision is a collision in which kinetic energy is conserved, such as when a running back is hit so hard by the opposing team s linebacker on a lead draw play up the middle that the ball is forced out of his arms. The fumbled ball then hits the turf and because of the elasticity of the collision it bounces back up. Unlike an elastic collision, an inelastic collision does not conserve the kinetic energy of the colliding objects (Kirkpatrick Wheeler 134). An example of an inelastic collision might be when a player catches the ball (if he catches the ball) and the momentum of the ball is completely stopped. However it is important to realize in this study of physics that a completely inelastic collision is impossible to attain in the real world because the energy isn t really lost it is just converted into different forms such as the sound the collision makes. • 30. Summary Of Hard Times By Charles Dickens Angelina Almanzar ENGL 35701: 19th Century British Novel Professor Elizabeth Weybright 27 June 2016 Utilitarianism in Hard Times During the Victorian Era, many philosophers focused on utilitarian philosophy and ways of thinking, choosing the best decisions and actions for their own self interest. In his novel, Hard Times, Charles Dickens satirizes the English educational system, society, and economics, but most importantly, through them, he criticizes the many abuses of utilitarianism. Many writers such as Bornali Nath Dowerah and Ali Taghizadeh have done research on Dicken s work mostly focusing on utilitarianism and its negative impacts on society especially on those of the lower class. Charles Dickens, the most renowned social commentator of his time, criticized the ills of society as he commiserates with those who were affected the most by social and economical abuses. According to the article Charles Dickens as Social Commentator and Critic published on the Victorian Web (www.victorianweb.org/authors/dickens/diniejko.html), Dickens was not only very successful in exposing what was wrong with society, but also in exposing the ills of the utilitarian theory which at the time rejected the human imagination or fancy. Utilitarianism is an ethical theory which as we may know recommends ethical recommendations for everyday life, thus making hard decision making easier for us. This theory mostly focuses on moral action, holding on to the belief that people s happiness ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Standardized Testing Argument A Standardized test is a form of test that all students across the nation take at one point. These tests are federally mandated, timed, and designed to measure students performance in basic subjects. All students receive the same questions on the test so it s supposed to be multiple choice questions that fits all students. Standardized testing does not measure the knowledge of students, although many schools require students take them. One of the main reasons schools claim to use standardized testing is to compare performance levels of different students in different locations around the nation, but this is an unreliable way to do so. According to many studies, such tests decrease student motivation and increase their stress and anxiety. Far too much emphasis is put into standardized tests to the point where teachers are teaching to the test rather than making sure real learning is taking place. Students aren t learning everything that is part of their curriculum. Too much focus is directed to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They claim testing not only can measure the ability of students, but the school education system as a whole. Results inform the nation whether students are mastering the so called critical skills and knowledge being taught to them. At this point, struggling students can be aided in the direction they should go to improve and reach the overall goal set for them. For this reasoning, opponents argue that standardized testing is a good after all. Though they do make a fair point, we can t overlook the fact there are too many factors that play a role in the testing which can likely result in unreliable and inaccurate outcomes. Ultimately, students are capable of different and amazing things, therefore their abilities should not be determined off a test given to every single one of their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Rhetorical Analysis Of Meryl Streep Timeless actress and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, Meryl Streep, in her Cecil B. DeMille Award acceptance speech during the Golden Globe Awards, condemns President Donald Trump s mockery of a disabled reporter. Streep s purpose is to galvanize the prestigious audience into using their platforms to coalesce the nation and call out injustice. She adopts a humble tone in order to establish herself as an equal among her fellow actors all the while creating a sense of unity in her audience of renowned Hollywood stars. Streep, before mentioning Trump, gains the trust of her audience by uniting them with meaningful pathos. ...You and all of us in this room really belong to the most vilified segments in American society right now, (Streep, para.2). By using the words you , us , and belong , she links every actor, from the bit parts to the leading roles. Streep further unites her audience throughout her speech, but introducing the concept early on enhances its importance to her. Before she asks her audience to use their platforms to do good, Streep further elevates each actor in the room, regardless of their merit, to be on the same level of distinguishability. But who are we, and what is Hollywood anyway? It s just a bunch of people from other places, (Streep, para.3). This statement is common knowledge, but she elaborates as she goes on to describe the birthplaces of various Hollywood stars. From Ohio to Jerusalem, South Carolina to Ethiopia, Streep utilizes logos by listing off different homelands to prove that even A list celebrities come from hometowns just as modest as up and coming starlets. By doing so, her audience members feel as equally respected as award winning actress Streep which makes them feel equally as capable to bring about change. Streep does not actually mention Trump until the second half of her speech in order to first gain the trust of her audience. While speaking about Trump, she uses anaphora to discuss power. I am going to assume that I did not know about the risk of mass wasting when I purchased my home. With that said, I would be very angry at the city for not informing me about such a risk. I would also be very angry at myself for not doing research and for not applying the principles I have learned in this class when it comes to purchasing a home. This class has taught me the type of areas that are prone to mass wasting. I know that I should not purchase a house in the mouth of a canyon, on existing old landslides, and on or at the base of steep slopes. I also know that rain, loose soil, and steep slopes increase the likelihood for disaster dramatically. When it comes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How comforting this thought is! Not even death, even from a seemingly pointless disaster, can separate me from my family. I understand how people who view death as the ultimate end can view deadly disasters as the ultimate end of their purpose in life. With that said, the gospel does not take away the pain that comes with the death of a loved one, but it does make the pain bearable. This week I learned about various mass wasting events that have impacted cities around the world. These events have forever changed landscapes, killed thousands, destroyed entire cities, furthered scientific research, and have impacted the lives of all those caught with in its path. On a scientific level I have learned where not to build or purchase a house. However, perhaps the most valuable thing I have learned from this activity is how the gospel is incorporated within every aspect of our lives, even natural disasters. Stanley Hauerwas, author of the article Go With God argues that the light of Christ can be seen within every subject we study. To see this light requires faith and an intellectual mind. If a disaster impacts our lives will we be able to see the light of Christ in suffering even in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Grapes Of Wrath By John Steinbeck Pecunia Præstat Hominibus A United Kingdoms survey found that child parent relationships are breaking down as parents put work before their children, especially in middle class families (Ross). This statistic can explain many of the darker portions of our culture, from the lack of complete families to the increase of drug abuse. Yet one may wonder how this is in any way connected to the novel, The Grapes of Wrath. However, both the statistic and the novel have a similar theme Money being placed before people. John Steinbeck endeavors to teach us how dangerous and common this mindset can be through his novel. Although there are some instances of the Okies aiding one another, money before people is a central theme in The Grapes of Wrath because it is the main source of motivation for the antagonism displayed towards the Okies. money before people is a common, recurring theme in the novel. As soon as the fifth chapter of The Grapes of Wrath, this theme is introduced. When the landowners come to take the Okies lands, the narrator introduces the theme as an invisible monster.
