Boston Massacre Dbq Essay
After the French and Indian War, Britain did numerous things to provoke the colonists to revolt
against the tyrant king, King George III. The British taxed unfairly and enforced ridiculous laws on
the colonists. the colonists rebelled due to anger and disgust toward Britain, and through pride and
patriotism toward their future country, they fought for independence. King George III was a cruel and
unfair man. He treated the colonists wrongly and ungraciously. In May of 1765, King George passed
the Stamp Act. A law that taxed stamps, an everyday essential item in this time. The colonists believed
that the Stamp Act was unlawful, and they did not tolerate it. We have no representatives in the British
Parliament. So how can the British Parliament ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A boycott by the colonists against British goods due to the tax on tea. This took place in the British
Harbor in December of 1773, when the colonists took tea from an incoming supply and dumped it
overboard. (Document 4). This angered Britain, which prompted them to punish the colonists. Britain
stopped exports to the colonies until all the tea was paid for by the colonists. It wasn t just the
Intolerable Acts that influenced the colonists. One main event was the Boston Massacre. 11 unarmed
colonists were shot and 5 were killed by British Soldiers during a protest. (Document 6). The patriots
wanted justice for the soldiers who were responsible for shooting. The soldiers were put on trial by
request of the colonists. As part of the Intolerable Acts, when soldiers were accused of a crime, they
were sent back to Britain instead of being put on trial where the crime was committed (Document 5).
Colonists felt that by doing this, parliament was too biased and the soldiers wouldn t be punished or
prosecuted. The colonists wanted the soldiers to go on trial in Massachusetts so there was justice given
to criminals. While the soldiers were in the colonies, Britain forced colonists to house and care for
soldiers. This was called the Quartering Act. Colonists did not agree with this (Document

Worm Hole Attack Essay
Figure 3: Worm hole attack
E. Motivation and Problem Formulation
Application of game theoretic approach to individual nodes distributes the responsibility of security to
all the nodes in the network thus reducing the loop holes in the security. The Game Theory approach
explored in recent times addressing security issues in MANET focuses mostly on networks having
central administration involving only 2 players i.e. attacker and defender. We propose a novel game
theoretic approach with multiple players for security in MANETs.
In a distributed environment there is no central administration and hence each node has to defend
himself from the attacks. We propose a dynamic mean field game theoretic approach to enable an
individual node in MANETs to make strategic security defense decisions without centralized
administration. In the proposed mean field game theoretic approach, each node only needs to know its
own state information and the aggregate effect of the other nodes in the MANET[2], making nodes
self reliable against attacks. Enhancing Security in Mobile Ad Hoc Network.

Greek God Hades Research Paper
Olympic god Hades was born son of Titans Cronus Rhea. Unlike his brother, Zeus who was saved by
his mother Rhea, He was swallowed by his father along with his Olympic brothers sisters as soon as
they were birthed fearing that one of them would try to overthrow him. Zeus ended up killing his
father and freeing his brothers sisters. Three of them decided to split up the world into sections; Zeus
got the Heavens, Poseidon had the seas, and Hades got the underworld. Hades is the ruler of the
underworld and his job is to allow souls to enter the world he made and not let them out. Hades was
one of the most feared gods as stated from a book all about the Greek god... He was the most feared
god. People were even afraid to speak his name. They did not want to draw Hades attention. ... Show

How Technology Enters The Picture
A considerable portion of the defense budget is spent on training personnel to operate and maintain
highly complex equipment. In the austere environment that the military operates in, this presents
shortfalls in maintenance. In order to combat this and in an attempt to maintain and adapt DoD
equipment in the face of long logistical supply chains, the DoD deploys machine shops, weld shops
and other fabrication capabilities in theater. However, due to lack of design information,
manufacturing technology and limited engineering design expertise these capabilities are limited and
only provide a small percentage of repair parts that are needed to maintain these complex systems
(DARPA 2013). This is where technology enters the picture. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

And why not, innovation has always been a key component of Marine Corps tradition and our
leadership style. The Marine Corps continuous improvement process tell us that it is both an
opportunity and an obligation and it is the responsibility of Marine leaders and supervisors at all levels
to bring good ideas to the surface and support their implementation (MCO 5220.12, para 1.2). As we
look for technology and tools to innovate, one untapped resource that the Marine Corps has yet to
maximize is the machining and welding capabilities, which reside mostly in our Ground Ordnance
Vehicle battalions, MWSS and Marine Aviation Logistics units.
The Machinist MOS (2161) has shorten the gap in terms of technology between the manufacturing
sector and the Corps machining capabilities with the procurement of Computer Numerical Control
machines (CNC). It has been a decade since the first CNC was introduced to the Machinist s school
house and ninety percent of machine shops have at least one CNC machine. CNC technology brings
the capability to produce intricate and complex parts in an expeditious manner and sometimes in
minutes, as opposed to days with manual machines. However, this technology has not been exploited
in the Marine Corps and has yet to be maximized. This is primarily due to the Corps commitments to
OEF and OIF, thus the proficiency and lack of knowledge from leaders of its potential has been

Analyzing The Protagonist In Voltaire s Candide
Voltaire wrote Candide as a response to the optimistic philosophy taking place in the mid seventy
century. In 1956 Leonard Bernstein produced a Broadway version of this text. After that, several more
version were produced until reaching the final edition played at the New York Philharmonic in 2005.
Voltaire s Candide targets the ¬¬¬¬¬philosophical beliefs of the period while Bernstain s play adjusts
the scenes to the context of the new audience for which is performed. For an audience watching
Candide in 2014, however, other adjustments are necessary. Voltaire s target in Candide is to criticize
the philosophical optimism of the era. Such optimism is expressed by Candide s mentor, the
philosopher Pangloss, who justifies the presence

How The Erie Canal Shaped And Reshaped The Identity Of New...
The Erie Canal, which was three hundred sixty miles, forty feet wide and four feet deep at its
completion, was able to bridge a connection from Lake Erie to the Hudson and was a reliable form of
transportation (as the roads were not the network it is today). The Erie Canal, after its construction
was able to rupture the boundaries of western and eastern (northeastern) New York and encouraged
inward and outward flow (migration) of people, animals, goods, money, trade, sickness and disease,
ideas, and news, and was able to deconstruct as well as reconstruct the identity of New York State as a
consequence of its success. The purpose of this paper is to illustrate how the Erie Canal shaped and
reshaped the identity of New York State through the compression and expansion of space and time
during industrialization, the second wave of globalization, through the canal s economic success, and
through the rupturing of boundaries. The Erie Canal has been praised for years as a well known
legendary waterway around the world (Larkin 1998). The canal has been termed as the greatest public
work undertaken by a free society solely for the benefit of its people...the undertaking was a
prodigious one (Edmonds 1960, p. 1). After opening in 1825, the Erie Canal was named the longest
canal in the world and opened the West to become a globalized nation, brought affluence to New York
State as well as establishing New York City as a shipping port (Wyld 1986). It can be argued that the

Worden V. Edward Gein Case
The lawyer of a man who is being accused of murder contacted me. It was requested that I be the
expert witness and decide if the man, Edward Gein, is mentally fit to stand trial.
(Good) Ed, the second of two boys, was born to George and Augusta Gein on August 27th, 1906.
Augusta detested her husband, and considered him a failure for being an alcoholic who couldn t keep
a job, but she would not divorce him as it would have gone against her religion. The family was living
in La Crosse, WI, but Augusta moved the family to a large farm outside of Plainfield. The farm
became the family s permanent home as it allowed Augusta to keep the boys isolated from outside
influences. George Gein was a raging alcoholic and would physically abuse the boys. ... Show more

The skins from ten human heads were found preserved, and another skin taken from the upper torso of

table propped up by a human shinbones, and a refrigerator full of human organs. The four posts on
Gein s bed were topped with skulls and a human head hung on the wall alongside the nine skinned

To Believe and To Change in Ayn Rand’s Anthem
To Believe and To Change Individuality arises when an individual encounters and endures a life,
taking their first step with their family which is the first society an individual faces. Through their
lives, individuals promote their own exclusive originalities, while Ayn Rand s novella Anthem
characterizes a totalitarian society suppressing individualism. In the society depicted in Anthem,
individualism is oppressed by the society imposing children live away from their families which is one
form of totalitarian dictator s authority. The intention of totalitarian dictators enforcing the
arrangement of children living apart from their families is to impede individualistic society avert
dissimilarities transpiring in the process of family influences in education, forfend the enlightenment
of emotions, and the establishment of collectivism. We strive to be like all our brother men, for all
men must be alike (Rand 21). Although being divergent is a sin, transgression in Anthem society,
Prometheus, the protagonist, defies against collectivism by standing out and becoming an outcast of
himself in his society with self assurance and eagerness. No one in Anthem society has individual
identity by inspecting the inexistence of the word I, while Prometheus detects the Unspeakable Word,
ego, exposing the readers to envisage the propitious prospect of the establishment of individualism.
Women never see their children and children never know their parents (Rand 41). Prometheus

The Lost Generation By F. Scott Fitzgerald
Loss, wastefulness, and regret are not words that anyone wants to hear. While reading the works of F.
Scott Fitzgerald in Babylon Revisited and of Ernest Hemingway in The Snows of Kilimanjaro these
three words seem to connect to two stories together. In these stories loss, wastefulness, and regret
intertwine in the stories to better explain the struggles that people have to deal with. Both Fitzgerald
and Hemingway were part of what is called the Lost Generation. The Lost Generation was a group of
American writes who moved to Europe because they believed that America had lost all hope and
could never be fixed. In the Lost Generation by Kate O Connor, she says that, The accusation, You are
all a lost generation, referred to the lack of purpose or drive resulting from the horrific disillusionment
felt by those who grew up and lived through the war, and were then in their twenties and thirties.
Having seen pointless death on such a huge scale, many lost faith in traditional values like courage,
patriotism, and masculinity. The aftermath caused these ex pats to write about common themes such
as, Decadence, Gender roles and Impotence, and Idealized past (O Connor). As audiences read stories
written during the twentieth century, they will be able to see these themes. Babylon Revisited by
Fitzgerald, is an example of the twentieth century sense of loss, wastefulness, and regret because
Charlie had to deal with all of those problems. The reader sees this

Bo Jackson I. Introduction a. No matter what people say, multitasking is one of the hardest things to

responsibility. I myself played two sports in high school and trying to balance that out with school was
a tough enough task in itself. Now imagine having to manage two professional jobs at the same time,
well that s the life Bo Jackson lived, my favorite professional athlete and arguably the best athlete of
all time. Vincent Bo Jackson was born on November 30, 1962 in Bessemer, Alabama. He earned the

Kansas City Royals out of Auburn, where he batted .401 with 17 home runs and 43 RBI s as a senior.
And as if baseball and football wasn t enough sports at a big time university, Bo also ran track and

opted not to because he wouldn t get any financial security of the MLB or NFL, nor have the time to

American Culture
1. How can an understanding of the complexities of culture help us make sense of the day to day
world which we live? Give an example from your life to illustrate your answer.
If we understand the complexities of the cultures around us, we can better relate to the people engaged
in the other cultures. It also allows us to better understand why others are acting the way they are. At
the hospital I work at, we are taught about how others use the word yes. For instance, I might ask if
they understand the paperwork they are signing and they will respond with yes. However, to them the
yes might not be an agreement with the understanding the paperwork but they are using yes to be
respectful. One then must clarify whether they truly understand ... Show more content on

The symbol $ represents an amount of money in the United States dollar.
An example of a value in the USA would baseball. In our culture, baseball is a symbol of family time
and fun. In fact, it is sometimes known as Americas favorite pastime.
An example of a norm would be that in the South, we will sometimes talk to others in line around us
at places like the grocery store. However, in the North people keep to themselves more. People do not
want to talk about the weather while standing in line to buy groceries.
A tradition found in American culture that is not found in other cultures is being engaged before you
get married. While in America an engagement is a sign of an impending marriage, in other cultures,
such as that of South Korea, the sign of an impending marriage is when the significant others are
introduced to the family.

things that people in other disciplines do not routinely think about. Use an example of an object in

My Husband Works For A Freight Company
Workplace Ethics My husband works for a freight company that handles many different types of
shipments including large item delivery to residential customers of various online, as well as,
commercial freight delivery. The company s policy on returns, refusals, and damaged items is to do
whatever the shipper dictates. Some items are so large that it is not cost efficient to return them to the
shipper or corporate, such as, kayaks, patio furniture sets, or custom vanity cabinets. In these
instances, the directive is often to destroy and dispose of it or give it to charity. Many perfectly good
items end up in the trash because of this but some items magically disappear from the dumpster as
well. Recently, a case of tea and a Keurig, were the topic of discussion. A clerk received an order to
destroy the tea and dispose of it, she had the terminal manager sign off on it and claimed to put it in
the dumpster. Both managers later became aware that the tea had disappeared and was not in the
dumpster. The next day, an order came in to dispose of a Keurig that was being held. When the same
clerk saw the order, she asked where it was. She was told it had already been put in the dumpster and
immediately went to check it. She returned and stated that it wasn t in there. One of the managers,
suspecting that she was looking to take it and had taken the tea the previous day, replied yes, it
is...right next to the tea . In actuality, the Keurig had been used to replace the

The Best Principles Of Persuasion
To achieve a successful business interaction, it is important to persuade the best possible manner ever.
Several researchers have studied how to persuade effectively, but the best principles of persuasions
were described by Robert Cialdini and the principles include reciprocity, scarcity, authority,
commitment and consistency, consensus and liking.
Reciprocity is the expectation of getting a return for a favor offered. This simply implies that for
everything that is given out, there is a certain expectation from the receiving end. Basically, one can
give out money and expect goods or services in return. In a business context, I might have the mind
set of making a potential customer a repeat buyer and to make that happen, I offer to help the buyer by
giving a discount. If the buyer shows appreciation and still comes back to get more of the products,
that means the favor has been reciprocated.
Scarcity is another principle of persuasion. Scarcity can be described as the rare availability of an
item. As a seller, one of the ways to persuade and make a potential buyer purchase your product is to
remind them of how rare the product is, especially if it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Allen Ginsberg s Poetry
Allen Ginsberg s work carries strong the themes of the Beat Generation, a rebellious and
melodramatic extravaganza. He grew up protesting World War II, then continued to fill his life with
drugs and rebellion. He wrote much of his work during the Vietnam War, a highly opposed war that
caused much distress especially in the young male demographic because of the draft. While often
containing anti war and anti government rhetoric, his poems usually focus on amorous connections
and the troubles of his time. Ravaged by drugs, depression, and debt, the Beat Generation sees many
of its core themes in the work of Allen Ginsberg.
Ginsberg s anti war sentiments show clearly throughout many of his poems, most notably Wichita
Vortex Sutra and, in places, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One particular line in the first section of Howl is my favorite because of its stark transparency: with
dreams, with drugs, with waking nightmares, alcohol and cock and endless balls (Ginsberg). The first
half of this line are beautiful and tragically melodramatic. Finishing with carnality forces the reader to
lower their shock and remember that sexuality really is a part of the big beautiful picture. Lines like
these sparked the actual sexual revolution, the change in thinking during the 1960 s, ten years after
Ginsberg wrote Howl . Hand in hand with Ginsberg s free sexuality comes his open bisexuality. He
has a complete disregard of the social norm, writing in his poem Message : man / or woman I don t
care what anymore, I / want [the] love I was born for (Ginsberg). The ideas in this line reflect the ideas
of the Homophile Movement; acceptance of gay people and focusing on love instead of sex. Ginsberg
surely was one of the forerunning poets on this movement. Ginsberg s work on the folly of the United
States government, the horror of war, and basic sexuality reflects the ideas of the Beats Generation
and the movements that went along with it; the sexual revolution and the Homophile

Self-Care In Immanuel Kant s That 70s Show
It goes by many names and none are sweet. Either masturbation strikes an innately uncomfortable
chord when it tries to leave a human mouth or I m just childish, oversensitive to a cluster of syllables
that sound altogether so clinical and cold. Alternative turns of phrase are out there for the weak at
heart: there s an episode of That 70s Show where the credits roll over Donna in a bathtub surrounded
by candles, her hand unseen under the water in an ultra feminine, epitomized snapshot of what I guess
we call self care. Cue laugh track. Immanuel Kant, who died childless and unmarried in the town

The Media s Role Of A Democratic Nation
The news media is an important aspect of a democratic nation, as one of their roles is to be a voice of
the public to mediate between the public and the government. Anderson (2007) asserts that the
normative roles of the news media in a democratic society are to undertake the role of the fourth
estate, act as a watchdog, and when necessary, as a counterbalance to those in society who abuse their
power. In other words, the media s function in society is critical to ensuring a balanced governance
and providing reliable information to the public. It is the primary institution within which the public
can better understand its society and the world around them. This paper synthesizes my research

They are also expected to report news that informs, engages and educates the public on issues that
affect them, news that is independent of vested interest (Mcquail, 1994). Most of the ethical codes as
stated above, concentrate on providing reliable information to the public as well as avoiding bias and
sensationalism in the news.
On the other hand, Atton (2003) describes alternative media as a critical means to challenge the
standardised and professionalised practices of mainstream media. It is guided by a purpose other than
profit, unlike mainstream media which is often structured to promote consumption of the products it
advertises (Skinner, 2009). Alternative media does not claim to be objective. It does not consider itself
bound by the conventions of journalism. It sees itself as providing a platform for everyone to voice
their opinions (i.e. a platform for horizontal communication) (Hackett Zhao, 2002). What I found
through my research is that mainstream media does not always follow its role of maintaining ideal
journalistic standards. It more often focuses on reporting sensational news for entertainment
commercial purposes, rather than news that intellectually informs, engages and educates the public.
Mehrotra (2011) defines media sensationalism as the style of reporting news to the public which
involves use of fear, anger, excitement and crude thrill undertaken by the media to increase the

contains a high amount of sugar making it hyperosmotic relative to plasma. Gatorade consists of large
amounts of electrolytes making it iso osmatic relative to the plasma. Based on these characteristics of
the consumed substances, we are able to study the hormonal effects on the average UFR and USG.
Our subjects did start out in a similar dehydrated state. Subjects were asked to fast for five hours prior
to the lab and they were restricted to drink alcohol or eat fatty foods the night before. The purpose of
avoiding food and drink prior to the lab was so that the nutrients in the food and beverages consumed
are not absorbed into the blood stream because it could impact factors that are measured in certain
tests. Fasting improves the accuracy of those tests (). If each student did not monitor or follow the
correct procedure, we would have had multiple errors in our results. The results would not be as
accurate as they should be. The drinking groups varied in the amount that they were supposed

Parents And The Quality Child Care Program
Parents involvement in the Early Childhood Program is very important to enrich the quality child care
program. Some family may show lot of enthusiasm and interest while others may show little interest
to involve in the program. As mentioned by Essa and Young, Regardless of the extent or type of
involvement, an involved parents is a far greater asset to the program than an uninvolved one, since
planning, implementing, and evaluating becomes a team effort (2003, p. 184).This program is a team
work where three important players children, parents and teacher work together to achieve the goal of
the program. Parents might contribute to the program in the following ways:
1. Excellent source of resources: Parents are an excellent source of resources to the program. Different
parents have different expertise and skills which they can share with teacher and children and can be a
part of the curriculum. For example, if any parents is working as yoga instructor, he or she can teach
some basic yoga poses and techniques to the children which help children to be more focused. If any

Can the Etiology of Psychopathy Lead to Earlier Detection and Reduced Crime Rates? The field of
forensic psychology is ever changing as is the world around us. There is a persistent need to evaluate

An Explanation Of The Scientific Importance Of Human...
An Explanation of the Scientific Importance of the Human Genome Project
The human genome project is an international effort that serves as a possible solution to the many
diseases that affect billions of people worldwide. This project is a great milestone in the field of
genetics as it allows scientists to determine the sequence of genes in chromosomes which will show
where disease causing mutations are occurring and what can be done to reverse it. Looking back in
time, many of the diseases which could be cured were done by administering drugs and certain types
of therapies. As the complexity of technology as well as advancements in the understanding of our
bodies increased, more diseases became curable through these very drugs and therapies. However,
many times individuals find it hard to deal with the side effects that these solutions create. The human
genome project aims to make disease and illnesses curable more efficiently and to become readily
available to individuals throughout the world. It is therefore necessary the that society begins to accept
this project as the new frontier in medical treatment and prevention of diseases. By having a greater
investment and understanding in the Human genome Project, the scientific community will determine
more information about DNA to develop treatment plans, prevention methods, and develop cures to
diseases that affect humans; thus yielding medically important information for society. When
attempting to understand what the

Analysis Of My Antonia By Willa Cather
Everyone can think upon their past and remember a time where things were easier or more fun.
Throughout the book My Antonia by Willa Cather, longing for a time in the past is the recurring
theme. The story is told through Jim Burden s eyes and his times with the lovely Antonia. As life goes
on, Jim reminisces about his childhood with Antonia. These memories transits from teenage years, all
the way into late adulthood for Jim and Antonia. To start, the first time we see Jim and Antonia s
relationship drift is after Mr Schimerdas dies from supposedly killing himself. When Jim comes to
teach Antonia more English after that, he begins to only teach Yulka. Antonia, being the next oldest
kin, had to go out for work on the farm. I ain t got time to learn. I can work like mens now. My mother
can t say no more how Amrosch do all and nobody to help him. I can work as much as him. School is
alright for little boys. I help make this land one good farm. (61) Antonia is already four years older
than Jim, making her responsibilities even greater. Jim misses the days where the two of them went
out in adventures, but soon has to go to school in town. This means that Jim will be even further away
from Antonia. Eventually, Jim and his Grandparents move into town so Jim can go to school. At which
is bittersweet for him and the Schimerdas. After I began to go to the country school, I saw less of the
Bohemians. We were sixteen pupils at the Sod Schoolhouse, and we all came on horseback

Diffusion Lab
Introduction:
In nature, molecules are always in motion. When molecules move from high concentration to a low
concentration across the membrane, this is called diffusion. In other words, when particles go down
the concentration gradient, also called passive transport. A special type of diffusion is also called
osmosis, which is the diffusion of water, meaning water particles (H2O) move from high
concentration of water particles to a low concentration through a selectively permeable membrane.
Higher water concentration can also be phrased as higher water potential.
Diffusion is a spontaneous reaction that occurs to maintain equilibrium. Equilibrium is an equal
concentration of particles across the membrane. Dynamic Equilibrium is the equal exchange of
particles across the membrane. The purpose of this lab is to observe the physical effects of osmosis
and diffusion and to determine if it actually takes place. We hypothesized that, because molecules
diffuse down a concentration gradient, the mass of the dialysis tubes will increase, and we believe that
as the molarity increases, the percent of change in mass will also increase. Our final hypothesis was
that diffusion and osmosis will occur until ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, this lab proved that water can move across the selectively permeable membrane of the

that as the molarity increases, the percent of change in mass will also increase. The class data fully

situations, but she still managed to survive. These are the most significant characters in White Fang
that stood out to survive and become the fittest. The character White Fang demonstrates survival of
the fittest through his many actions. First, White Fang was taught since youth to hunt for his own
food. For instance, White Fang had to kill ptarmigan chicks for food, and he had to kill a weasel
because he was being attacked. (London, 73) These events ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Weedon Scott has sympathy for White Fang and has an idea of what he had to go through, just to

White Fang to obey him just like his previous masters. When Weedon Scott fell off of his horse, he
demanded White Fang not to attack the horse, and to go back home. (London, 238) This example
shows how White Fang has to respect Weedon Scott if he wants to be respected back. Concluding my
evidence, these actions show how Weedon Scott is the survival of the fittest. Kiche showed how she
adapted to the savage environment in which she faced. First off, she saved White Fang from being
killed by a lynx and a weasel, and if she did not save him he would have died. (London, 71) This
incident proves that Kiche cared for him, and Kiche would protect her cubs if necessary. This picture
displays how Kiche cared and loved White Fang. A couple years later, Kiche met up with White Fang
and she did not recognize him because White Fang matured and looked older. Kiche s instinct was to
claw White Fang because she thought he was trying to hurt her newborn cubs. (London, 134) This
made White Fang and Kiche mentally stronger, so they could both move on with their new life.
Finally, Kiche willingly gave herself up to indians knowing she would escape in the future. Kiche, like
White Fang, was brilliant and she knew the man animals were more powerful than her, so that

Marshall Plan Research Paper
The Marshall Plan was an American initiative to aid Europe, in which the United States gave $13
billion in economic support to help rebuild European economies after the end of World War II. The
plan was in operation for four years beginning in April 1948. The goals of the United States were to
rebuild war devastated regions, remove trade barriers, modernize industry, make Europe prosperous
again, and prevent the spread of communism. The plan required a decreasing of interstate barriers, a
dropping of many petty regulations constraining business, and encouraged an increase in productivity,
labor union membership, as well as the adoption of modern business procedures.

to Congress. The plan encountered sharp opposition in Congress, mostly from the portion of the
Republican Party led by Robert A. Taft that was weary of massive government spending. The plan
also had opponents on the left, Henry A. Wallace notably among them. Wallace saw the plan as a
subsidy for American exporters and sure to polarize the world between East and West. However,
opposition against the Marshall Plan was greatly reduced by the shock of the Communist coup in
Czechoslovakia in February 1948. Not long after, a bill granting an initial $5 billion passed Congress
with strong bipartisan support. Congress would eventually allocate $12.4 billion in aid over the four

3 John Reflection
Many scholars believe that because 3 John is the shortest book in the New Testament it is the void of
any doctrinal content. The paper sets out to argue that 3 John is deeply doctrinal but it is embedded
within the author s view of the character of God and his plan for the world. I must confess that as I
read 3 John I did not grasp the message. It was only after reading the article a few times I was able to
comprehend the 3 John. The article explains that in order to understand this letter we must dig deep
into the background, and find the author s intentions and the reaction he expect from the recipient. 3
John seems to a reply to a previous letter, which we no access to.In letter the Elder commends Gaius

much deep theological reflections, Lieu found that it cast a light on the early patterns of ministry. It
was by using a socio narrative analysis, and rearranging the letter,we were able to grasp the big
picture. When were introduced to John Searle s speech act theory we saw how communication carries
a force that affects and changes the receiver s behavior. The idea being that by reading 3 John and

Japanese Presidential Campaign
First of all, Mrs. Candidate it is my honor to advice you for this years presidential campaign. In order
to succeed in this campaign, it is important that you get familiar with Japan and also how their local

structure of the Japanese government. After the World II Japan replaced their Meiji constitution to its
current Constitution in 1946. According to Maki the reason why Meiji constitution is because as he
stated The national tragedy of a physically and spiritually devastating lost wars brought the old
constitutional order to an end. (Maki, 1990). In the new Constitution, it states that Japan shall have a
constitutional monarchy, in which the Emperor is the head of the state but serves only as the symbol of
the state with no power. (NYU, 2006). Moreover, the Japanese Government consists of three branches
including, the Executive branch, the legislative branch and the Judicial branch. Executive power
consists of the Prime Minister and other ministers who complete the Cabinet. On the other hand, the
Japanese national parliament Diet has the legislative power. The Diet is comprised from both the
House of Representatives and the House of Councilors. Moreover, both of these houses are directly

freedom and speech, freedom of religion and to the equality of all and so on. Based on the 3rd Chapter

The Wife s Lament Essay
The Wife s Lament
Over the years, there have been many interpretations of who the speaker of The Wife s Lament could
be. These range from very interesting ideas to ones that seem a little rough around the edges. It is
obvious that no sure answer can be found due to the fact that whoever wrote this poem is dead and
that the answer will always be in speculation even if it is correct. Hopefully, at the end of this quest I
will be slightly more enlightened as to who the true speaker may really be.
There are some things that we do know about this poem. It is most often referred to as an elegy
because of the mood of mourning and regret. Upon further reading I discovered that this poem is like
others of its time period. Many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have the right to say what miseries I have endured since I grew up, new or old never greater than
now. Even though this poem is relatively short, the vivid expression of grief is somewhat awe
inspiring.
The first interpretation of who the speaker is in The Wife s Lament is very shaky and not well
accepted among scholars and even the average reader. This interpretation is that the speaker may be a
male and not a female as we all believe. It was very common in Anglo Saxon times for the lord of a
group of people to be more to them than a ruler. Very often he would become a close friend to his
people and they loved him like family. The relationship between lord and man was more than just a
business arrangement and although they were working for the lord, he was respected much like a
father figure would be. The problem with this interpretation is that the grammatical gender is
feminine. This is the reason why everyone assumes that the speaker is a female. Supporters of this
reading of The Wife s Lament believe that somewhere along the line of translating the poem the
translator made a mistake and changed the gender of the speaker. As I have already said, this
interpretation is very rough around the edges and rather hard to believe. I believe that if the speaker
were male then there would be no real reason for his being exiled in this fashion. It was not a custom
for communities to allow foreigners in thus falsifying

William Penn John Winthrop s Goals in Colonization Essay
During the early colonization of the East coast of North America, many groups of people of Europe
came to the New World such as the Puritans and Quakers. Both the Puritans, led by John Winthrop,
and the Quakers, led by William Penn, were escaping persecution from England but each they had
their own views and goals in religion, politics, and ethnic relations. Being on the native land of the
local Indians, both Penn and Winthrop had to face issues and negotiations with the Indians. Penn and
Winthrop had their own separate approaches to politics but they both sought a more just system than
the one in England. After being persecuted, both Penn and Winthrop wanted their people to be free

Escaping from a corrupt government that England had oppressing them for many years, both Winthrop
and Penn wanted a government which was self governing and a government that was just for people.
These early types of government would later help the creation of the government that would being the
United States.
The biggest motivation in Penn and Winthrop was their views on religion and how it should be carried
out in the community. Penn was one the few and first to believe in religious toleration and freedom to
worship any religion without the fear of persecution. The Quaker communities would welcome all
forms of religion such as Baptism and Evangelism while the Puritans would be very secluded. The
Puritans thought any other religion would bring in vile thought and immoral ideals that would affect
their community. Puritans would discourage any other form of religion which made them a very
isolated, homogenous, group of people. Penn s views would also shape the future government of the
United States.
Penn and Winthrop led their people to the New World with the hopes of starting a new, safe, society
that escaped persecution. Their contact with the Indians and their differing views of religion would
help them shape the politics of their communities. They both came with the similar goals but they
would each carry it out in their own specific way. These early colonists would help influence the
founding of many other communities, bringing in many new ideals

What Is True Love In A Midsummer Night s Dream

The beginning of the play starts off with a conversation about a marriage that is taking place in four
days, between Theseus and Hippolyta. From this very first conversation in the play, as the reader we
can sense a tension and affection between Hippolyta and her soon to be husband. As Theseus seems to
be overjoyed by the idea of marrying his bride, Hippolyta has almost a fake spirit as she talks of her
fiancé s anticipation towards the wedding.
Here we see Theseus talk of the slow time passing between now and the wedding, Four happy days
bring in Another moon but O, methinks how slow This old moon wanes! (1.1 2 4). In response,
Hippolyta evidently in no rush for the wedding replies, Four nights will quickly steep themselves in
night, Four nights will quickly dream away the time (1.1 7 8). We quickly learn that it is not by
Hippolyta s will to marry Theseus, but out of his. Theseus looks at Hippolyta as a war prize from

Follow feng shui rules
Feung shui is an ancient Chinese methods of positioning objects to create a harmonious environment.
Feng shui rules can be really useful in creating harmony and comfort.
According to these rules, a good mirror should be clean and clear. It must be in one piece (a broken
mirror is bad luck) and is placed in a suitable height so that you don t have to bend down or stand on
tiptoe. One of the areas that is considered unsuitable for mirror is the bedroom: a mirror over the
headbroad can be acceptable.
It is fine to hang a mirror over the entry ways to welcome your guest or over a fireplace to balance the
energy and reflect the soft, flickering fire.
3. And the Donts
Don t just place them anywhere Mirrors can act as nice decorative items, yes. But they should be used
creatively to enhance a room s appearance or reflect something that is worth our attention. A big

Being a partner is a strong motivating factor, You re not just an employee; you are an owner of the

Partners are paid more generously than employees at other retailers. They receive five weeks annual

There are other non financial motivators also. Partners can rent subsidized rooms in two large country
estates, or stay at lakeside hotels in Snowdonia and the Lake District, or in a 16th century castle in
Dorset. Five cruising yachts can be rented cheaply. And then there is the £60 annual subsidy on

  • 2. Boston Massacre Dbq Essay After the French and Indian War, Britain did numerous things to provoke the colonists to revolt against the tyrant king, King George III. The British taxed unfairly and enforced ridiculous laws on the colonists. the colonists rebelled due to anger and disgust toward Britain, and through pride and patriotism toward their future country, they fought for independence. King George III was a cruel and unfair man. He treated the colonists wrongly and ungraciously. In May of 1765, King George passed the Stamp Act. A law that taxed stamps, an everyday essential item in this time. The colonists believed that the Stamp Act was unlawful, and they did not tolerate it. We have no representatives in the British Parliament. So how can the British Parliament ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A boycott by the colonists against British goods due to the tax on tea. This took place in the British Harbor in December of 1773, when the colonists took tea from an incoming supply and dumped it overboard. (Document 4). This angered Britain, which prompted them to punish the colonists. Britain stopped exports to the colonies until all the tea was paid for by the colonists. It wasn t just the Intolerable Acts that influenced the colonists. One main event was the Boston Massacre. 11 unarmed colonists were shot and 5 were killed by British Soldiers during a protest. (Document 6). The patriots wanted justice for the soldiers who were responsible for shooting. The soldiers were put on trial by request of the colonists. As part of the Intolerable Acts, when soldiers were accused of a crime, they were sent back to Britain instead of being put on trial where the crime was committed (Document 5). Colonists felt that by doing this, parliament was too biased and the soldiers wouldn t be punished or prosecuted. The colonists wanted the soldiers to go on trial in Massachusetts so there was justice given to criminals. While the soldiers were in the colonies, Britain forced colonists to house and care for soldiers. This was called the Quartering Act. Colonists did not agree with this (Document ... • 3. Worm Hole Attack Essay Figure 3: Worm hole attack E. Motivation and Problem Formulation Application of game theoretic approach to individual nodes distributes the responsibility of security to all the nodes in the network thus reducing the loop holes in the security. The Game Theory approach explored in recent times addressing security issues in MANET focuses mostly on networks having central administration involving only 2 players i.e. attacker and defender. We propose a novel game theoretic approach with multiple players for security in MANETs. In a distributed environment there is no central administration and hence each node has to defend himself from the attacks. We propose a dynamic mean field game theoretic approach to enable an individual node in MANETs to make strategic security defense decisions without centralized administration. In the proposed mean field game theoretic approach, each node only needs to know its own state information and the aggregate effect of the other nodes in the MANET[2], making nodes self reliable against attacks. Enhancing Security in Mobile Ad Hoc Network. II. LITERATURE SURVEY Author in [1] propose a new approach to automated response called the response and recovery engine (RRE). These engine employs a game theoretic response strategy against adversaries modeled as opponents in a two player Stackelberg stochastic game. [2] proposed a Mean field Game Theory approach which can be applied to distributed networks having multiple players. The research proposes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. How Technology Enters The Picture A considerable portion of the defense budget is spent on training personnel to operate and maintain highly complex equipment. In the austere environment that the military operates in, this presents shortfalls in maintenance. In order to combat this and in an attempt to maintain and adapt DoD equipment in the face of long logistical supply chains, the DoD deploys machine shops, weld shops and other fabrication capabilities in theater. However, due to lack of design information, manufacturing technology and limited engineering design expertise these capabilities are limited and only provide a small percentage of repair parts that are needed to maintain these complex systems (DARPA 2013). This is where technology enters the picture. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And why not, innovation has always been a key component of Marine Corps tradition and our leadership style. The Marine Corps continuous improvement process tell us that it is both an opportunity and an obligation and it is the responsibility of Marine leaders and supervisors at all levels to bring good ideas to the surface and support their implementation (MCO 5220.12, para 1.2). As we look for technology and tools to innovate, one untapped resource that the Marine Corps has yet to maximize is the machining and welding capabilities, which reside mostly in our Ground Ordnance Vehicle battalions, MWSS and Marine Aviation Logistics units. The Machinist MOS (2161) has shorten the gap in terms of technology between the manufacturing sector and the Corps machining capabilities with the procurement of Computer Numerical Control machines (CNC). It has been a decade since the first CNC was introduced to the Machinist s school house and ninety percent of machine shops have at least one CNC machine. CNC technology brings the capability to produce intricate and complex parts in an expeditious manner and sometimes in minutes, as opposed to days with manual machines. However, this technology has not been exploited in the Marine Corps and has yet to be maximized. This is primarily due to the Corps commitments to OEF and OIF, thus the proficiency and lack of knowledge from leaders of its potential has been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Analyzing The Protagonist In Voltaire s Candide Voltaire wrote Candide as a response to the optimistic philosophy taking place in the mid seventy century. In 1956 Leonard Bernstein produced a Broadway version of this text. After that, several more version were produced until reaching the final edition played at the New York Philharmonic in 2005. Voltaire s Candide targets the ¬¬¬¬¬philosophical beliefs of the period while Bernstain s play adjusts the scenes to the context of the new audience for which is performed. For an audience watching Candide in 2014, however, other adjustments are necessary. Voltaire s target in Candide is to criticize the philosophical optimism of the era. Such optimism is expressed by Candide s mentor, the philosopher Pangloss, who justifies the presence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. How The Erie Canal Shaped And Reshaped The Identity Of New... The Erie Canal, which was three hundred sixty miles, forty feet wide and four feet deep at its completion, was able to bridge a connection from Lake Erie to the Hudson and was a reliable form of transportation (as the roads were not the network it is today). The Erie Canal, after its construction was able to rupture the boundaries of western and eastern (northeastern) New York and encouraged inward and outward flow (migration) of people, animals, goods, money, trade, sickness and disease, ideas, and news, and was able to deconstruct as well as reconstruct the identity of New York State as a consequence of its success. The purpose of this paper is to illustrate how the Erie Canal shaped and reshaped the identity of New York State through the compression and expansion of space and time during industrialization, the second wave of globalization, through the canal s economic success, and through the rupturing of boundaries. The Erie Canal has been praised for years as a well known legendary waterway around the world (Larkin 1998). The canal has been termed as the greatest public work undertaken by a free society solely for the benefit of its people...the undertaking was a prodigious one (Edmonds 1960, p. 1). After opening in 1825, the Erie Canal was named the longest canal in the world and opened the West to become a globalized nation, brought affluence to New York State as well as establishing New York City as a shipping port (Wyld 1986). To Believe and To Change in Ayn Rand’s Anthem To Believe and To Change Individuality arises when an individual encounters and endures a life, taking their first step with their family which is the first society an individual faces. Through their lives, individuals promote their own exclusive originalities, while Ayn Rand s novella Anthem characterizes a totalitarian society suppressing individualism. In the society depicted in Anthem, individualism is oppressed by the society imposing children live away from their families which is one form of totalitarian dictator s authority. The intention of totalitarian dictators enforcing the arrangement of children living apart from their families is to impede individualistic society avert dissimilarities transpiring in the process of family influences in education, forfend the enlightenment of emotions, and the establishment of collectivism. • 11. The Lost Generation By F. Scott Fitzgerald Loss, wastefulness, and regret are not words that anyone wants to hear. While reading the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald in Babylon Revisited and of Ernest Hemingway in The Snows of Kilimanjaro these three words seem to connect to two stories together. In these stories loss, wastefulness, and regret intertwine in the stories to better explain the struggles that people have to deal with. Both Fitzgerald and Hemingway were part of what is called the Lost Generation. The Lost Generation was a group of American writes who moved to Europe because they believed that America had lost all hope and could never be fixed. In the Lost Generation by Kate O Connor, she says that, The accusation, You are all a lost generation, referred to the lack of purpose or drive resulting from the horrific disillusionment felt by those who grew up and lived through the war, and were then in their twenties and thirties. Having seen pointless death on such a huge scale, many lost faith in traditional values like courage, patriotism, and masculinity. The aftermath caused these ex pats to write about common themes such as, Decadence, Gender roles and Impotence, and Idealized past (O Connor). As audiences read stories written during the twentieth century, they will be able to see these themes. Babylon Revisited by Fitzgerald, is an example of the twentieth century sense of loss, wastefulness, and regret because Charlie had to deal with all of those problems. The reader sees this ... Several researchers have studied how to persuade effectively, but the best principles of persuasions were described by Robert Cialdini and the principles include reciprocity, scarcity, authority, commitment and consistency, consensus and liking. Reciprocity is the expectation of getting a return for a favor offered. This simply implies that for everything that is given out, there is a certain expectation from the receiving end. Basically, one can give out money and expect goods or services in return. In a business context, I might have the mind set of making a potential customer a repeat buyer and to make that happen, I offer to help the buyer by giving a discount. If the buyer shows appreciation and still comes back to get more of the products, that means the favor has been reciprocated. Scarcity is another principle of persuasion. The goal was to test and see if my hypothesis were correct regarding the urine specific gravity, urine flow rate, and presents of reagents using the Labstix. My hypothesis for this experiment was that the Gatorade drinkers will have the highest urine flow rate and that non drinkers would have the highest urine specific gravity. Water is hypo osmotic and coke contains a high amount of sugar making it hyperosmotic relative to plasma. Gatorade consists of large amounts of electrolytes making it iso osmatic relative to the plasma. An Explanation of the Scientific Importance of the Human Genome Project The human genome project is an international effort that serves as a possible solution to the many diseases that affect billions of people worldwide. This project is a great milestone in the field of genetics as it allows scientists to determine the sequence of genes in chromosomes which will show where disease causing mutations are occurring and what can be done to reverse it. Looking back in time, many of the diseases which could be cured were done by administering drugs and certain types of therapies. As the complexity of technology as well as advancements in the understanding of our bodies increased, more diseases became curable through these very drugs and therapies. However, many times individuals find it hard to deal with the side effects that these solutions create. The human genome project aims to make disease and illnesses curable more efficiently and to become readily available to individuals throughout the world. It is therefore necessary the that society begins to accept this project as the new frontier in medical treatment and prevention of diseases. In other words, when particles go down the concentration gradient, also called passive transport. A special type of diffusion is also called osmosis, which is the diffusion of water, meaning water particles (H2O) move from high concentration of water particles to a low concentration through a selectively permeable membrane. Higher water concentration can also be phrased as higher water potential. Diffusion is a spontaneous reaction that occurs to maintain equilibrium. Equilibrium is an equal concentration of particles across the membrane. Dynamic Equilibrium is the equal exchange of particles across the membrane. The purpose of this lab is to observe the physical effects of osmosis and diffusion and to determine if it actually takes place. For instance, White Fang had to kill ptarmigan chicks for food, and he had to kill a weasel because he was being attacked. (London, 73) These events ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Weedon Scott has sympathy for White Fang and has an idea of what he had to go through, just to survive in the wild. Although, Weedon Scott still demands respect from White Fang and he still wants White Fang to obey him just like his previous masters. When Weedon Scott fell off of his horse, he demanded White Fang not to attack the horse, and to go back home. (London, 238) This example shows how White Fang has to respect Weedon Scott if he wants to be respected back. Concluding my evidence, these actions show how Weedon Scott is the survival of the fittest. Kiche showed how she adapted to the savage environment in which she faced. First off, she saved White Fang from being killed by a lynx and a weasel, and if she did not save him he would have died. (London, 71) This incident proves that Kiche cared for him, and Kiche would protect her cubs if necessary. This picture displays how Kiche cared and loved White Fang. A couple years later, Kiche met up with White Fang and she did not recognize him because White Fang matured and looked older. Kiche s instinct was to claw White Fang because she thought he was trying to hurt her newborn cubs. (London, 134) This made White Fang and Kiche mentally stronger, so they could both move on with their new life. Finally, Kiche willingly gave herself up to indians knowing she would escape in the future. Kiche, like White Fang, was brilliant and she knew the man animals were more powerful than her, so that ... Wallace saw the plan as a subsidy for American exporters and sure to polarize the world between East and West. However, opposition against the Marshall Plan was greatly reduced by the shock of the Communist coup in Czechoslovakia in February 1948. I must confess that as I read 3 John I did not grasp the message. It was only after reading the article a few times I was able to comprehend the 3 John. The article explains that in order to understand this letter we must dig deep into the background, and find the author s intentions and the reaction he expect from the recipient. 3 John seems to a reply to a previous letter, which we no access to.In letter the Elder commends Gaius for supporting the missionaries who have arrived, even at the cost of his excommunication. The elder speaks of Diotrephes who has rejected his authority and placed himself leader, refusing to help missionaries, and threatening anyone who supports them. Although this letter was not thought to offer much deep theological reflections, Lieu found that it cast a light on the early patterns of ministry. It was by using a socio narrative analysis, and rearranging the letter,we were able to grasp the big picture. When were introduced to John Searle s speech act theory we saw how communication carries a force that affects and changes the receiver s behavior. • 34. The Wife s Lament Essay The Wife s Lament Over the years, there have been many interpretations of who the speaker of The Wife s Lament could be. These range from very interesting ideas to ones that seem a little rough around the edges. It is obvious that no sure answer can be found due to the fact that whoever wrote this poem is dead and that the answer will always be in speculation even if it is correct. Hopefully, at the end of this quest I will be slightly more enlightened as to who the true speaker may really be. There are some things that we do know about this poem. It is most often referred to as an elegy because of the mood of mourning and regret. Upon further reading I discovered that this poem is like others of its time period. Many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have the right to say what miseries I have endured since I grew up, new or old never greater than now. Even though this poem is relatively short, the vivid expression of grief is somewhat awe inspiring. The first interpretation of who the speaker is in The Wife s Lament is very shaky and not well accepted among scholars and even the average reader. This interpretation is that the speaker may be a male and not a female as we all believe. It was very common in Anglo Saxon times for the lord of a group of people to be more to them than a ruler. Very often he would become a close friend to his people and they loved him like family. The relationship between lord and man was more than just a business arrangement and although they were working for the lord, he was respected much like a father figure would be. The problem with this interpretation is that the grammatical gender is feminine. This is the reason why everyone assumes that the speaker is a female. Supporters of this reading of The Wife s Lament believe that somewhere along the line of translating the poem the translator made a mistake and changed the gender of the speaker. As I have already said, this interpretation is very rough around the edges and rather hard to believe. I believe that if the speaker were male then there would be no real reason for his being exiled in this fashion. It was not a custom for communities to allow foreigners in thus falsifying ... William Penn John Winthrop s Goals in Colonization Essay During the early colonization of the East coast of North America, many groups of people of Europe came to the New World such as the Puritans and Quakers. Being on the native land of the local Indians, both Penn and Winthrop had to face issues and negotiations with the Indians. Escaping from a corrupt government that England had oppressing them for many years, both Winthrop and Penn wanted a government which was self governing and a government that was just for people. These early types of government would later help the creation of the government that would being the United States. The biggest motivation in Penn and Winthrop was their views on religion and how it should be carried out in the community. Penn was one the few and first to believe in religious toleration and freedom to worship any religion without the fear of persecution. The Quaker communities would welcome all forms of religion such as Baptism and Evangelism while the Puritans would be very secluded. The Puritans thought any other religion would bring in vile thought and immoral ideals that would affect their community. Puritans would discourage any other form of religion which made them a very isolated, homogenous, group of people. Penn s views would also shape the future government of the United States. Penn and Winthrop led their people to the New World with the hopes of starting a new, safe, society that escaped persecution. Their contact with the Indians and their differing views of religion would help them shape the politics of their communities. They both came with the similar goals but they would each carry it out in their own specific way. These early colonists would help influence the founding of many other communities, bringing in many new ideals ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From this very first conversation in the play, as the reader we can sense a tension and affection between Hippolyta and her soon to be husband. As Theseus seems to be overjoyed by the idea of marrying his bride, Hippolyta has almost a fake spirit as she talks of her fiancé s anticipation towards the wedding. Here we see Theseus talk of the slow time passing between now and the wedding, Four happy days bring in Another moon but O, methinks how slow This old moon wanes! (1.1 2 4). In response, Hippolyta evidently in no rush for the wedding replies, Four nights will quickly steep themselves in night, Four nights will quickly dream away the time (1.1 7 8).
