contrasting businesses The National Health Service (NHS) is an organisation in the Public sector, this
means that it is provided and funded by the government through taxes, and it provides a service. It is
health care system, provided to anyone regardless of age, race and income; free of charge to prevent
diseases and illnesses. It was founded in 1948 with the aims to improve the quality and length of life

manufacture them. Local/National/International/Global A business that only operates in one area
would be known to be a local business; they are usually small businesses such as a sole trader or
partnership and won t be operating in other areas as well. A larger business that operates all over the
country would be known as a national business, they would more likely be PLC s or LTD s; however
they won t have any other branches of their business in any other country. An international business is
a business that operates in more than one country and a global business is a business that operates all

Watson s Theory Of Human Caring
Watson s Carative Factors
According to Watson, the ten carative factors of her theory serve as core principles critical to the
practice of human caring (Watson, 2012). Watson s theory provides an appropriate framework to help
palliative care nurses promote positive outcomes in patients experiencing hopelessness. For example,
one of Watson s carative factors encourages patients to promote negative feelings in order to
strengthen the nurse patient relationship (McKay, Rajacich, Rosenbaum, 2002). Encouraging patients
to vent feelings of hopelessness allows the nurse to provide the patient with proper support. Watson s
Theory of Human Caring can be operationalized by demonstration of ten caritas factors in Watson s
Caring Factor Survey. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nursing
Definitions of hopelessness in nursing literature tend to vary. According to the North American
Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA), hopelessness is a subjective state in which an individual
sees limited or unavailable alternatives or personal choices and is unable to mobilize energy on own
behalf, (2017, p. 466). NANDA s defining characteristics of hopelessness include, but are not limited
to: passivity, lack of involvement in care, decreased appetite and decreased verbalization (2017, p.
466). The concept of hopelessness within the nursing context encompasses cognitive and emotional
elements. In her research, Campbell identified four characteristics of hopelessness: negative future
expectations, loss of control over future outcomes, passive acceptance, and emotional negativity
(Campbell, 1987). Within the nursing context, hopelessness can also be viewed as lack of involvement
in one s own care (Kylma, Duggleby, Cooper, Molander, 2005). Another prominent study in nursing,
however, focusing on the dynamics of hope and hopeless in palliative care suggested that most of the
terminally ill patients attributed their feelings of hopelessness to losses in the past (Olsman, Leget,
Duggleby, Willems, 2015). Feelings of hopelessness can also be considered either state of being or a
character trait (Dunn, 2005). Hopelessness can also be viewed independently

Qantas Internal Analysis Essay
Internal analysis using current up to date information about the company When analyzing the internal
analysis for Qantas Airlines in Australia we come to know that profit margins here are also very tight.
0.5% growth is expected in the upcoming years. It is predicted that by 2017 the total revenues will
reach to 14.9 billion Australian Dollars. The steep margins are due to increased competition. Qantas
airlines hold 65% of the total market share which is high as compared to other countries. Nevertheless
every other competitor is using world class crew, services, uniform, and food to attract more
customers. Even though there is high competition, Qantas has competitive edge by having a strong
brand, better slots at airports and well trained staff. (Bloomberg, 2011) Virgin Australia and Tiger

Everyone has a story to share, none less important than the other, and a past that helped to create the
people we are today. As I begin my journey into the world of adulthood, the feelings of excitement
and fear dawn on me because the realization hit me! I ve made it! Senior year, the year I have been
dreading and longing for the past 3 years fear of leaving home and becoming my own person. Only to
one day discover, as I sat in my room thinking about life s next chapter that was about unfold in front
of me,i realized I more than ready to go into the future with the security of being okay because of the
enviorment I was raised in and the values my mother instilled in me since the age of 5. Coming from a
family of three that consisted of only my father, mother and myself, lasted only till about four years
ago. Now it is only a party of two which consists of only myself and my mother. My household was
chaotic, due to the many disputes that occured on a daily basis, one parent always disatisfied with the
other . As a small child not many thoughts would run through my mind as I saw my parents fighting
and my dad drinking. To me it seemed normal because at least I had both my parents and it would get
better eventually. Eventually never came, the fighting and the drinking progressed as I grew, and the
bitterness that accumulated over the years overcame me and now it wasn t just a fight between
partners, it was a fight between child and father. Everyday was a constant battle

Johnny Cash Essay
Johnny Cash was born on February 26th, 1932 in Kingsland, Arkansas. Cash was one of seven
children born to his parents, Ray Cash and Carrie Cloveree. He was named J.R Cash at birth, but when
he later enlisted in the US army he was not allowed use those initials. He then changed his name is
John R.Cash and took Johnny Cash as his stage name. Johnny Cash was an American singer
songwriter, guitarist, actor, and author, widely considered one of the most influential musicians of the
20th century.
Jonny Cash was one of the first people to play in the American prisons. Cash preformed his first
concerts for inmates in 1957 in Texas at the Huntsville State Prison. In 1958 he performed at San
Quentin for the first time, where he influenced inmate Merle Haggard to join the prison country band
and later make a band of his own called The Strangers. In 1966, he first performed in Folsom Prison
for which he wrote the song Folsom Prison Blues
Although Cash carefully cultivated a romantic outlaw image, he never served a prison sentence, even
though he was in jail seven times for small offences, each stay lasted only a single night. His most
well known encounter with the law happened while on tour in 1965, when he was arrested October 4
by a narcotics squad in El Paso, Texas. The officers suspected he was smuggling heroin from Mexico,

The Ponzi Scheme versus the Madoff Scheme
Schneeweis Szado (2010, p.9) suggested that ffinancial fraud in general and Ponzi schemes in
particular continue to maneuver investors. A Ponzi scheme is frequently described as a securities fraud
in which the investment manager is in fact taking money from new investors to fund redemptions
from current investors. These strategies are often discovered when new investors cannot be found to
offset redemptions from current investors. The Ponzi method received its name from Charles Ponzi,
who marketed an investment based on managing the International Postal Reply Coupons. Ponzi
suggested that an arbitrage opportunity existed because he could exchange U.S. dollars into the
necessary foreign currency, and use the foreign currency to purchase postal reply coupons. The postal
reply coupons could be redeemed for U.S. postage stamps, which could then be sold for U.S. dollars.
Ponzi promoted unusually high returns to investors when in fact he simply used the new investment to
pay of the previous investors. While the scheme soon collapsed, there are similarities between him and
the Madoff scheme. For example, Madoff sold primarily to the Jewish community and also Ponzi sold
primarily to the immigrant community of the North End of Boston, to which he belonged. Along with
that, the validity of Madoff s strategy was a subject argued by the public press (Barron s) as well as by
individuals (Markopolus) on the grounds. Comparable to Ponzi s investors, Madoff s investors, have

Mono-Modal Image Registration
Image registration is a method of capturing images of varying modalities and (or) images obtained at
separate time periods and aligning them with one another [11]. Image registration is necessary as the
transformation of these varying images into the same coordinate system allows critical information,
such as structural components, to be observed and studied by medical professionals. This will provide
the medical professionals with improved insight into making important decisions regarding diagnosis
and treatment [11]. There are four steps involved in image registration. There four steps are as follows:
Feature detection which is detecting a feature of interest on a reference image and a sensed image

useful method to track the progression of a disease or to observe the response to treatment. Mono
modal registration primarily uses temporal images. The images are intrasubject images [14] [15]. An
example of mono modal image registration is fMRI which is discussed in detail above. 2.4.2 Multi
modal image registration In multi modal image registration, the reference image and sensed image are
of different modalities. Multi modal images obtained from the same subject provides a means of
observing varying degrees of information. This proves useful is diagnosis as well as in surgery that
uses computers [16].The different types of information obtained could involve functional and
structural information which can be contrasted. An example of multi modal image registration is

Destruction Of The Neurons Responsible For Involuntary...
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also called Lou Gehrig s disease, is a
neurodegenerative motor disease that results in the destruction of the neurons responsible for
involuntary muscle movement (NINDS 2014). Patients are determined to have ALS if they have both
upper motor neuron disease and lower motor neuron disease (Gordon 2011). Many people that have
been diagnosed with ALS are seen in wheelchairs or if the person is in the early onset of ALS, using
other walking devices. This is because in 65% of patients, ALS begins with weakness in the arms,
legs, and body, therefore this results in the loss of capability to walk (Gordon 2011, A.D.A.M. 2012).
Most patients live for approximately three to five years after symptom onset and usually die when the
muscles in the chest stop working, which causes their heart and lungs to stop functioning as well
(Gordon PH 2011, A.D.A.M. 2012). This is caused by muscles weakening until atrophy and
fasciculations occur, leading to the brain being unable to control voluntary movement (NINDS).
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is classified as a motor neuron disease (NINDS).
The nervous system is made up of neurons that take in information through our senses and then
processes it to the rest of the body(IQWig 2012). After this, motor neurons send a signal from the
nerve cell in the brain, to the brain stem, down the spinal cord, and cause a reaction in the muscular
system (NINDS 2014). An example of this would be

The Cross And The Lynching Tree Chapter Summary
The Cross and the Lynching Tree, written by James Cone, is an emotionally charged book that
criticizes the church and the black community within America. The first words of chapter one, they
put him to death by hanging him on the tree, [ ] have a strong first impression to the reader,
immediately stating the issue at hand. The act of lynching began throughout the Roman Empire for
rebels and insurrectionists where it became a public spectacle and humiliation. It was said in
Deuteronomy 21:23, this is punishment of being hung from a tree that was seen as a curse from God. [
] The first paradox symbol within the book is presented here where the cross brings forth the idea that
hope derives from defeat where then suffering and death is not the last thing. However, the ... Show

shares a major resemblance of the cross of Golgotha where Jesus our Savior was crucified for the sins
of the human race. The irony presented here demonstrates how the lynching of Jesus Christ of Him
dying on the cross and the lynching of five thousand African American individuals have a great
difference in American theology where those who committed the acts within the states did not see the
similarities between them both. Martin Luther King Jr. had a prominent role within society in America
where he sought out to teach the white race of the United States that if the cross were the pillar of the
Christian faith then they would soon learn that the lynching tree is the American cross. Even with the
outlaw of segregation through the case of Brown vs. the Board of Education, lynching was a shocking

Essay Similarities Between Night And The Book Night
Introduction Imagine that your family is uprooted from where they have been living for your whole
life, and are moved to a small space with 50 other people surrounded by death, suffering, disease and
starvation. This scenario was very real in both the novel Night and the movie Life is beautiful .
Furthermore, these two stories from the holocaust are similar and different in many ways. They are
both from the same point of view which is from the son, the development of Elie and Joshua
throughout the story, the characterization of the father, and God s provisions in there lives while they
were in the concentration camp. Although, there are many things that are alike in both of these stories,
there are many things that are different. Which consist of the mood of sadness, the fathers different

good Kommando ... (Wiesel, pg. 50). This is just one of the many ways how God showed his grace
toward Elie in his time or need and how he provided for him and his father throughout this suffering.
In addition to Elie getting provisions from God, Joshua did also. Joshua was provided with the
provision of hating to take showers. As the boy in the movie is portrayed, he hates to take showers.
Furthermore, because he hates to take showers he does not go into the showers with the other boys,
thus, saving his life (Gray, 2000). These provisions from God are obscenely different, they were both
ways that God provided for them in both of their stories of

Analysis Of Ford s Assembly Line
Ford s Assembly Line The acronym PERSIA denotes the categories Political, Economic, Religion,
Social, Intellectual and Aesthetic into an easy way of remembering one of many systematic models.
These six categories are used to organize and explain technology s effect and changes over a long
period of time. By categorizing a specific topic or idea, one may easily be able to understand the
importance that topic, idea and technology has impacted a person, culture, country, and even history.
Thus, providing a new outlook and perspective on history and the factors that contributed to the

Technology can impact different denominations of religious affiliations. For example Muslim,
Catholic, Christians, Judaism, and etc., can use and see technology differently. On Shabbat, which is
the last day of the week, known as the day of rest, followers of Judaism must refrain from using
electronics and or motor vehicles. The category social, refers to an individual within society.
Specifically, how technology effects changes in social relationships and people s lives. Technology
can make life easier and at the same time can make life more difficult. When an invention is released,
the inventors intent and purpose to increase production and reduce time or increase quality of life, may
produce the opposite result. For example, DDT, which was used as a pesticide, was sprayed during the
mid 1900 s to rid of insects, solved the problem temporarily, but eventually caused problems to the
environment and people later down the road. As a result, the technology wasn t completely successful.
Following social, intellectual describes education, technological advancement, and subjects learned in
education. Some of these include, math, science, engineering and physics. The category intellectual
defines what is important to know and what is useless. Lastly, the PERSIA model ends with aesthetic.
This is defined as what is appealing to the eye of a person. Creatively expressing an idea, or coming

Through this act of duplicity, we are shown a clear sign that his villainous side is now in control of
him, even though what brought it forward was something external to his own mind. Additionally, in
the final moments before Macbeth s decision to go through with the plan of killing Duncan, it had all
but come down to his choice, with no ascendency from external sources. In Act 2, Scene 1, the dagger
[he] sees before [him] might have been the final push he needed to commit his act of regicide and it is
most likely that this vision of a dagger was created by his own imagination, demonstrating that part of
his own mind, perhaps a villainous part of his sub conscious, was what created the illusion of the
dagger. This makes it clear that deep down a part of him had the ambition to kill Duncan, and the use
of a soliloquy enables the audience to hear his confused and conflicting thoughts as he is persuaded by
his own mind to kill the king. These acts of evil are a result of the contributions to Macbeth s villainy
by sources such

There are three pedals. The left pedal is the clutch; the middle pedal is the brake, and the one on the
right is the gas pedal.
Most people use their left leg to operate the clutch, while using the right leg to operate the gas, as well
as the brake.
To drive your car, you hold down the clutch and shift into 1st gear, easing the clutch until the your
vehicle begins moving.
Once the car starts to move, press down the gas pedal, while releasing the clutch.
Changing gears involves letting go of the gas pedal and pressing the clutch.
To shift to the next gear, either up or down, release the clutch and then press the gas pedal again.
Stopping entails shifting down until your car slows down enough to put you into first gear.
The final step in stopping your car involves using the left foot to press the clutch and then slowly
pressing your break with the right foot.

Arguments In Favor Of Immigration In The US
Immigration in the U.S. has made in big difference in the economy. Many people think they deserve to
stay, but then some like Donald Trump believe they don t deserve to stay. Most immigrants cross the
border for the opportunity to work, some come in hope for a better life for their family. Only a few of
the immigrants that are brave enough to take the trip actually stay in the U.S. Their jobs were often
dangerous and dirty, they worked long hours, and didn t get paid much. Almost all immigrants are not
lucky enough to find good jobs, with decent pay. If you are in the country illegally, you are not an
American citizen. When the immigrants that come to our country and believe they automatically have
the right to vote and have a job that is well paying is wrong. These illegals do not pay taxes for
schools, healthcare, and many more things. Many people think they should still be able to get a job so
they can pay for these things and become a citizen, but they do not realize it is just taking away jobs
for people who are here legally or the people that were born here. People should not be so quick to
decide that they are bad people, though. Most are just coming to this country so they can support their
families and give them better lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

their job right. Sometimes the employers to them are not paying them the right wages for what they
deserve. The immigrants should be getting treated right by

There are many papers on Labour Productivity and its improvement. But application of Work Study
for improving Labour Productivity is very limited. Work Study applications are more common in
manufacturing industry, but now its application is increasing in construction industry as well.
2.2 Labour Productivity
Since the construction labours are the most dynamic element in the construction industry improving
labour efficiency has become a target for construction companies. One of the most efficient ways to
increase labour efficiency is that of improving their productivity. Hence, by increasing labour
productivity, less number of workers can achieve same production rate, which leads to lower cost and

Difficulty in the recruitment of supervisors
Difficulty in the recruitment of workers
A high rate of labour turn over
Absenteeism at work site
Communication problems with foreign workers

The Sea And The Old Man

The Sea and the Old Man
An old man, alone in the ocean with no other humans in sight, struggles to pull an eighteen foot marlin
close enough to his boat to strike the killing blow. He is tired, and almost at the end of his strength. He
thinks to himself, I will try one more time. In The Old Man and The Sea by Ernest Hemingway,
protagonist Santiago finds himself in an ongoing struggle for dominance. He must persevere through
pain and adversity in order to catch a giant marlin, and then make his way back home afterwards. In
the beginning of the book, Hemingway paints a picture of what the code hero, or ideal character,
would be. Santiago is definitely one of these code heroes. Throughout the book, he shows incredible
perseverance through difficult situations, he recognizes his flaws and accepts them, and he faces
death, of both his goal and himself, without fear or concern.
Santiago s perseverance is a clear sign that he is one of Hemingway s code heroes. In both his
everyday life and his fight with the marlin, Santiago does not give up and endures whatever pain may
come. At the beginning of the book, Manolin reminds Santiago of how they went eighty seven days
without fish and then ...caught big ones every day for three weeks (10). Santiago has had to go
through hard times, eighty seven days without fish, but he still perseveres through the hardships and in
the end comes back from the hard times. Even

Essay on Religious Syncretism and its Consequences in...
Religious Syncretism and its Consequences in Mayan Society When Spaniards first set foot on
Mesoamerican shores in the early sixteenth century, they encountered not the godless mass of natives
they believed they found, but a people whose rich spiritual traditions shaped and sustained them for
thousands of years. These diverse spiritual practices legitimized nearly every aspect of Mesoamerican
daily life, from science and architecture to art and politics (Carmack 295), in many of the same ways
Catholicism did in Spain. The collision of these cultures in the Great Encounter and the resulting
Spanish colonial state mixed not solely two different peoples Indian and Spanish but thousands of
variants: elites and slaves, peasant farmers and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To the native people, Christianity appeared to be primarily a set of practices, many of which
resembled their traditional practices of prayer, offerings, processions, dramas, fasting, and the use of
sacred images (Carmack 166).
In Mayan areas, cofradías became a central part of Christianity in the New World.
Cofradías religious societies instituted and overseen by the Catholic Church and dedicated to a
particular saint were intended to facilitate the Indians integration into the Church and to serve as a
mechanism for the collection of revenues from the indigenous population (Carlsen 93). The spiritual
leap to acceptance of saint societies was not a great one. Each Mesoamerican town or city already
worshipped a patron god; with the introduction of Catholicism, the indigenous peoples merely traded
one icon for another (Fash). As Church leaders became increasingly dependent on the funds generated
by the cofradías as a major source of income, Mayan leaders recognized the bartering power they held
and used it to gain a degree of autonomy in their worship practices (Carlsen 94). This tacit agreement
allowed Mayans to include their own deities in their flourishing idol worship, and many of these
practices remain in place today as such figures continue to line the walls and altars of many parishes.
In Santiago Atitlán, for example, a stone image of Aklax (or San Nicolás), the patron deity of aj kuna

Plato s Teachings Of Philosophy
Plato was a well known philosopher who lived during the time of the distinguished Greek
philosophers. He was born into a wealthy and very noble family in the Athens. In the midst of
preparation for his life long career as a politician, the young Plato witnessed the trial and eventual
execution of Socrates. Little did he or anyone know this would ultimately lead him to completely
abandon his political career and become one of the world s most distinguished philosophers. Although
Plato s teachings are not universally agreed upon, virtually anyone can agree that that he was a
brilliant thinker and spurred many thoughts and beliefs that are carried into today s teachings of
philosophy. While the precise relationship of Plato and Socrates remains a heated disagreement among
scholars, Plato states that he was, in fact, a devoted follower of Socrates. Plato was highly influenced
by Socrates teachings and highly disturbed by his execution, eventually leading him to establish an
extremely powerful body of intellectual work. Plato is known to be a great writer as well as teacher.
Some of Plato s most famous teachings and writings had to do with his powerful argument that was in
favor of the objectivity of values. He taught that objective values are those that exist outside the
individual and are otherwise dependent upon their individual perception or personal belief. This can
include truth, beauty, as well as good. Some other distinguished philosophers have come up with

Sickle Cell Anemia The gene or chromosome that is affected? The haemoglobin atom has combine

Access to technology has become an integral part of education, socialisation and industry related

the development of enthusiasm for digital technologies and social networking sites. More than 60% of

Cynicism In Santa Land Diaries And White Noise
White Noise by Don Delillo and Santa Land Diaries by David Sedaris both provide criticism on
contemporary American life in different ways. Delillo presents complex characters who have issues
adapting to the new wave of change their environment presents every day, while Sedaris recounts a
factual moment in his life that also presents a change in his environment, but his is by choice.
However, in this essay the focus will be primarily on the argument that David Sedaris and Don Delillo
critique modem American culture in Santa Land Diaries and White Noise by using cynicism and by
identifying the blurring of fantasy and reality.
The Oxford Dictionary defines a cynic as a person who raises doubts about something and a person
who believes that people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paranoia is defined by the Oxford Dictionary as A mental condition characterized by a thought process
believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, over exaggerated self importance, typically
elaborated into an organized system. It may be an aspect of chronic personality disorder, of drug
abuse. In the novel, the characters Babette and Jack are cynics in their own right. Both characters are
self absorbed and hold the fear of the other dying before themselves. This fear stems from that the
reasoning that they would feel unbearably lonely and sad without each other (74). Though this can be
considered romantic to an extent, it is the vigour, seriousness and enthusiasm Babette and Jack discuss
who will die first that evokes the sense of cynicism. Through this cynical conversation the paranoia is
seen as that anxiety and fear of death pervades their thoughts. The discussion of death this blatantly in
the novel does provide a sense of critique and insight into the postmodern American as with the
emergence of technology and popular culture, a level of desensitisation of a once taboo subject occurs
and Babette and Jack act as examples of this. Both characters help us to redefine death as something
other than a terror, and enjoyment of this requires some detachment on the part of the individual. It has
also been argued that we may be more accepting of death, dying, and the dead because of our frequent
exposure to these phenomena through our popular culture. (Durkin,

Upton Sinclair s The Food Industry

Upton Sinclair
Upton Sinclair, the most influential writer regarding the food industry was born in Baltimore 1879.
Growing up in a poor family with an alcoholic father was difficult for Upton (Simkin, John). Upton
often lived with his wealthy grandparents during his childhood due to the instability in his own home.
Moving from his poor parents house to his grandparents rich house constantly made him see the
injustice in the American society, this made him become a radical socialist as young as his early teens.
At 14, Upton being the intelligent and independent man he was, started attending New York City
College. In order to make money to pay for his tuition, apartment, and still provide for his family,
Upton sold magazines and news articles of his socialistic ideas. The childhood Upton struggled
through with family and financial problems only made him strive to change the conditions of America
in his writing.
Sinclair s writing started to become very eminent in the early 1900 s, and by the age of 16 his book
The Jungle changes the food industry forever. In 1905 Sinclair was hired to work in Packingtown
Chicago for a meat processing company for a pay of $500 ( $13,513.51 today s money) (Upton

afterwards, he went into solitude for nine months to write about the details of the industry. The meat

The Pioneer Investigation And Findings From Brown Kulik...
Recollections of vivid autobiographical episodic memories formed when an individual experiences
intense emotions, generating from a surprising public event defines Flashbulb memories (FBMs).
Permanent and consistent remembrances processed cognitively and stored as explicit recollections in
long term memory are additional features of FBMs (Goldstein, 2014). Brown Kulik (1977) first
proposed this phenomenon and argued FBMs are resistant to change like photographs. The ongoing
debate over the process of cognition in relation to storing and recalling FBMs led numerous
researchers to advance their understanding of the mental processing of FBMs and to evaluate the
impact emotions have on memories. This paper discusses the pioneer investigation and findings from
Brown Kulik s 1977. It further explores debates opposing their unique theory of FBMs and the
apparent inadequacies of their conclusions. Additionally, this paper examines plausible hypotheses
from researchers for the formation of FBMs like rehearsal of events and the inconsistencies of FBMs,
their distortions and the decay FBMs experience over time. It then evaluates a contemporary study on
FBMs and the necessity for future studies to develop a method to measure FBMs. This is imperative
in order to gain a deeper understanding of the influences emotions have on shaping, processing and
storing FBMs cognitively and consequently how it impacts on our daily lives.

Circuit Of Logisim That Controls An Entry Gate
CS25410 Assignment Report
The task was to implement a circuit in logisim that controls an entry gate. The gate has 3 possible
inputs; a £1 coin paid in, a £2 coin paid in or the cancel button pressed. The gate must store the
amount of money paid in and has four possible behaviours for outputs. Once the gate has received £4
it must open, in terms of implementation a LED must light up and stay lit until another input is
received, any extra money in the machine must count towards the next entry fee. The other behaviours
are based off when the cancel button is pressed, a LED relating to the amount of money paid into the
machine towards an entry fee e.g. a £1 LED if £1 is in memory etc. up to the maximum of £3, In the
circuit these LED s must stay on until the next input.
The general structure of my implementation can be split up into three segments; Input, storage, and
output. In the input section there are 2 bits of memory to temporarily store the 3 different inputs, 01
representing £1, 10 representing £2 and 11 representing cancel pressed. This memory is cleared once it
has been clocked into the main storage of the system. The storage is implemented with 3 bits of
memory as there are 6 possible states for the memory, £0 to £5, the 1 and 2 bit are only affected once
an input has been clocked in however the 4 bit is only affected by the carry bit of the 2 bit memory
and is cleared as soon as an input button has been pressed as this was part of the assignment
specification.

In general, a products perceived value may be increased in one of two ways either by:
(1) Increasing the benefits that the product will deliver, or,
(2) Reducing the cost.
For consumers, the PRICE of a product is the most obvious indicator of cost hence the need to get
product pricing right.
IMPORTANCE OF PRICING
When marketers talk about what they do as part of their responsibilities for marketing products, the
tasks associated with setting price are often not at the top of the list. Marketers are much more likely

Yet pricing decisions can have important consequences for the marketing organization and the
attention given by the marketer to pricing is just as important as the attention given to more
recognizable marketing activities. Some reasons pricing is important include: Most Flexible

Women s Role Of Women In The Italian Renaissance
To be a woman in Renaissance Italy, was to be someone with limitations. Limitations to
what was acceptable in their world. Woman were pressured to be wives and mothers before any
other obligation. On top of those expectations, women were expected to maintain the idealistic
image of beauty. Meaning they had to dress and look a certain way to be accepted and placed
higher socially, within society.
The Italian Renaissance followed on the heels of the Middle Ages, and was spawned by
the birth of the philosophy of humanism, which emphasized the importance of individual
achievement in a wide range of fields, men and women. A woman in during the Italian
Renaissance was presumed with this idealistic motherhood representation formed by society.
Gender roles were a large factor that determined what a woman can and can t do. Males were
expected to go out of the home, work and make a living to support the family. While the wife
stays home with the children to raise them, clean, and cook for them. Women of the Renaissance,
like women of the Middle Ages, were denied all political rights and considered legally subject to
their husbands. Women of all classes were expected to perform, first and foremost, the duties of
housewife.
There were a few woman who broke away from the norm, refusing to follow the path
other s had chosen. This was rare, because although woman had to follow a certain amount of
rules, they had a well built life. They had a husband and

Compare And Contrast Impressionism And Post Impressionism
For this week s blog chose to compare the styles of Impressionism and Post Impressionism. Both of
these styles started to rise up in the 19th century from France. There are many differences between
these two styles. Impressionists were very in favor of independent exhibitions, while the Post
Impressionists placed on emphasis on structure. The Impressionists often drew upon landscapes and
the scenes of modern life for inspiration, paying attention to light, atmosphere, and movement for their
color. The Impressionists often did not rely on historical or mythical inspiration. The Post
Impressionists, on the other hand, rejected the Impressionist idea of being spontaneous for their color.
Post Impressionists believed that color could be independent of the emotional and aesthetic meaning
of the painting. With all of the styles of Romantic Era constantly changing each one reflected the
attitudes of the artists of that styles and at the same time changing history. When comparing a picture
from the two different styles, it is easy to depict these differences. With the number of differences
between the two styles, I find it fascinating what the two styles were trying to achieve. One believed
in being independent while the other focused on structure. With almost how opposite these two styles
were made for some very amazing paintings and extract very different reactions. And, with different
ideas from both sides, you could two very different perspectives on maybe the same object of

According to the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA), hopelessness is a subjective state in which an individual sees limited or unavailable alternatives or personal choices and is unable to mobilize energy on own behalf, (2017, p. 466). Within the nursing context, hopelessness can also be viewed as lack of involvement in one s own care (Kylma, Duggleby, Cooper, Molander, 2005). Another prominent study in nursing, however, focusing on the dynamics of hope and hopeless in palliative care suggested that most of the terminally ill patients attributed their feelings of hopelessness to losses in the past (Olsman, Leget, Duggleby, Willems, 2015). • 10. The Ponzi Scheme versus the Madoff Scheme Schneeweis Szado (2010, p.9) suggested that ffinancial fraud in general and Ponzi schemes in particular continue to maneuver investors. A Ponzi scheme is frequently described as a securities fraud in which the investment manager is in fact taking money from new investors to fund redemptions from current investors. These strategies are often discovered when new investors cannot be found to offset redemptions from current investors. The Ponzi method received its name from Charles Ponzi, who marketed an investment based on managing the International Postal Reply Coupons. Ponzi suggested that an arbitrage opportunity existed because he could exchange U.S. dollars into the necessary foreign currency, and use the foreign currency to purchase postal reply coupons. The postal reply coupons could be redeemed for U.S. postage stamps, which could then be sold for U.S. dollars. Ponzi promoted unusually high returns to investors when in fact he simply used the new investment to pay of the previous investors. While the scheme soon collapsed, there are similarities between him and the Madoff scheme. For example, Madoff sold primarily to the Jewish community and also Ponzi sold primarily to the immigrant community of the North End of Boston, to which he belonged. Along with that, the validity of Madoff s strategy was a subject argued by the public press (Barron s) as well as by individuals (Markopolus) on the grounds. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also called Lou Gehrig s disease, is a neurodegenerative motor disease that results in the destruction of the neurons responsible for involuntary muscle movement (NINDS 2014). Patients are determined to have ALS if they have both upper motor neuron disease and lower motor neuron disease (Gordon 2011). Many people that have been diagnosed with ALS are seen in wheelchairs or if the person is in the early onset of ALS, using other walking devices. This is because in 65% of patients, ALS begins with weakness in the arms, legs, and body, therefore this results in the loss of capability to walk (Gordon 2011, A.D.A.M. 2012). Most patients live for approximately three to five years after symptom onset and usually die when the muscles in the chest stop working, which causes their heart and lungs to stop functioning as well (Gordon PH 2011, A.D.A.M. 2012). This is caused by muscles weakening until atrophy and fasciculations occur, leading to the brain being unable to control voluntary movement (NINDS). Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is classified as a motor neuron disease (NINDS). The nervous system is made up of neurons that take in information through our senses and then processes it to the rest of the body(IQWig 2012). After this, motor neurons send a signal from the nerve cell in the brain, to the brain stem, down the spinal cord, and cause a reaction in the muscular system (NINDS 2014). Cofradías religious societies instituted and overseen by the Catholic Church and dedicated to a particular saint were intended to facilitate the Indians integration into the Church and to serve as a mechanism for the collection of revenues from the indigenous population (Carlsen 93). The spiritual leap to acceptance of saint societies was not a great one. Each Mesoamerican town or city already worshipped a patron god; with the introduction of Catholicism, the indigenous peoples merely traded one icon for another (Fash). Statistics published become quickly out dated and it is interesting to observe both the international and national trends of Internet usage generally over the years, as well as those specific to the use of Social Networking Sites. Access to technology has become an integral part of education, socialisation and industry related requirements, and accordingly Internet usage is evolving and growing rapidly. A survey conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statics in 2003 found that in the 12 months prior to April 2003, 95% of Australian children, aged between five and fourteen years had used a computer. The frequency of their usage increased with the age of the survey respondents. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A 2008 study of the out of school reading habits of fourteen year old students residing in a remote and rural area of the Northern Territory (Rennie and Patterson, 2008) discovered that improved and more competitively priced communication services have meant that geographic isolation has not prevented the development of enthusiasm for digital technologies and social networking sites. More than 60% of the participants in this study reported accessing the internet and social networking sites on a daily basis. American studies also reflect and expand on these limited Australian statistics. A 2004 PEW Internet and American Life survey found that 87% of teenagers aged between twelve and seventeen had some level of internet access, whether this was at home, school or another public space such as a local library. By 2010 this number had dramatically increased to 93% (Pew, 2010.) In 2006 PEW found that 55% of online American adolescents (aged between the years of twelve to seventeen) had created their own profile on a social network site. 64% of these respondents were aged fifteen to seventeen. • 31. Cynicism In Santa Land Diaries And White Noise White Noise by Don Delillo and Santa Land Diaries by David Sedaris both provide criticism on contemporary American life in different ways. Delillo presents complex characters who have issues adapting to the new wave of change their environment presents every day, while Sedaris recounts a factual moment in his life that also presents a change in his environment, but his is by choice. However, in this essay the focus will be primarily on the argument that David Sedaris and Don Delillo critique modem American culture in Santa Land Diaries and White Noise by using cynicism and by identifying the blurring of fantasy and reality. The Oxford Dictionary defines a cynic as a person who raises doubts about something and a person who believes that people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Paranoia is defined by the Oxford Dictionary as A mental condition characterized by a thought process believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, over exaggerated self importance, typically elaborated into an organized system. It may be an aspect of chronic personality disorder, of drug abuse. In the novel, the characters Babette and Jack are cynics in their own right. Both characters are self absorbed and hold the fear of the other dying before themselves. This fear stems from that the reasoning that they would feel unbearably lonely and sad without each other (74). Though this can be considered romantic to an extent, it is the vigour, seriousness and enthusiasm Babette and Jack discuss who will die first that evokes the sense of cynicism. Through this cynical conversation the paranoia is seen as that anxiety and fear of death pervades their thoughts. The discussion of death this blatantly in the novel does provide a sense of critique and insight into the postmodern American as with the emergence of technology and popular culture, a level of desensitisation of a once taboo subject occurs and Babette and Jack act as examples of this. Both characters help us to redefine death as something other than a terror, and enjoyment of this requires some detachment on the part of the individual. It has also been argued that we may be more accepting of death, dying, and the dead because of our frequent exposure to these phenomena through our popular culture. (Durkin, ... Feb. 2015 Upton Sinclair Upton Sinclair, the most influential writer regarding the food industry was born in Baltimore 1879. Growing up in a poor family with an alcoholic father was difficult for Upton (Simkin, John). Upton often lived with his wealthy grandparents during his childhood due to the instability in his own home. Moving from his poor parents house to his grandparents rich house constantly made him see the injustice in the American society, this made him become a radical socialist as young as his early teens. At 14, Upton being the intelligent and independent man he was, started attending New York City College. In order to make money to pay for his tuition, apartment, and still provide for his family, Upton sold magazines and news articles of his socialistic ideas. The childhood Upton struggled through with family and financial problems only made him strive to change the conditions of America in his writing. Sinclair s writing started to become very eminent in the early 1900 s, and by the age of 16 his book The Jungle changes the food industry forever. In 1905 Sinclair was hired to work in Packingtown Chicago for a meat processing company for a pay of $500 ( $13,513.51 today s money) (Upton Sinclair Hits Readers in the Stomach). • 33. The Pioneer Investigation And Findings From Brown Kulik... Recollections of vivid autobiographical episodic memories formed when an individual experiences intense emotions, generating from a surprising public event defines Flashbulb memories (FBMs). Permanent and consistent remembrances processed cognitively and stored as explicit recollections in long term memory are additional features of FBMs (Goldstein, 2014). Brown Kulik (1977) first proposed this phenomenon and argued FBMs are resistant to change like photographs. The ongoing debate over the process of cognition in relation to storing and recalling FBMs led numerous researchers to advance their understanding of the mental processing of FBMs and to evaluate the impact emotions have on memories. This paper discusses the pioneer investigation and findings from Brown Kulik s 1977. It further explores debates opposing their unique theory of FBMs and the apparent inadequacies of their conclusions. Additionally, this paper examines plausible hypotheses from researchers for the formation of FBMs like rehearsal of events and the inconsistencies of FBMs, their distortions and the decay FBMs experience over time. It then evaluates a contemporary study on FBMs and the necessity for future studies to develop a method to measure FBMs. This is imperative in order to gain a deeper understanding of the influences emotions have on shaping, processing and storing FBMs cognitively and consequently how it impacts on our daily lives. One theory of how emotion may influence the cognitive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Circuit Of Logisim That Controls An Entry Gate CS25410 Assignment Report The task was to implement a circuit in logisim that controls an entry gate. The gate has 3 possible inputs; a £1 coin paid in, a £2 coin paid in or the cancel button pressed. The gate must store the amount of money paid in and has four possible behaviours for outputs. Once the gate has received £4 it must open, in terms of implementation a LED must light up and stay lit until another input is received, any extra money in the machine must count towards the next entry fee. The other behaviours are based off when the cancel button is pressed, a LED relating to the amount of money paid into the machine towards an entry fee e.g. a £1 LED if £1 is in memory etc. up to the maximum of £3, In the circuit these LED s must stay on until the next input. The general structure of my implementation can be split up into three segments; Input, storage, and output. In the input section there are 2 bits of memory to temporarily store the 3 different inputs, 01 representing £1, 10 representing £2 and 11 representing cancel pressed. This memory is cleared once it has been clocked into the main storage of the system. The storage is implemented with 3 bits of memory as there are 6 possible states for the memory, £0 to £5, the 1 and 2 bit are only affected once an input has been clocked in however the 4 bit is only affected by the carry bit of the 2 bit memory and is cleared as soon as an input button has been pressed as this was part of the assignment specification. ... • 40. Women s Role Of Women In The Italian Renaissance To be a woman in Renaissance Italy, was to be someone with limitations. Limitations to what was acceptable in their world. Woman were pressured to be wives and mothers before any other obligation. On top of those expectations, women were expected to maintain the idealistic image of beauty. Meaning they had to dress and look a certain way to be accepted and placed higher socially, within society. The Italian Renaissance followed on the heels of the Middle Ages, and was spawned by the birth of the philosophy of humanism, which emphasized the importance of individual achievement in a wide range of fields, men and women. A woman in during the Italian Renaissance was presumed with this idealistic motherhood representation formed by society. Gender roles were a large factor that determined what a woman can and can t do. Males were expected to go out of the home, work and make a living to support the family. While the wife stays home with the children to raise them, clean, and cook for them. Women of the Renaissance, like women of the Middle Ages, were denied all political rights and considered legally subject to their husbands. Women of all classes were expected to perform, first and foremost, the duties of housewife. There were a few woman who broke away from the norm, refusing to follow the path other s had chosen. • 42. Compare And Contrast Impressionism And Post Impressionism For this week s blog chose to compare the styles of Impressionism and Post Impressionism. Both of these styles started to rise up in the 19th century from France. There are many differences between these two styles. Impressionists were very in favor of independent exhibitions, while the Post Impressionists placed on emphasis on structure. The Impressionists often drew upon landscapes and the scenes of modern life for inspiration, paying attention to light, atmosphere, and movement for their color. The Impressionists often did not rely on historical or mythical inspiration. The Post Impressionists, on the other hand, rejected the Impressionist idea of being spontaneous for their color. Post Impressionists believed that color could be independent of the emotional and aesthetic meaning of the painting. With all of the styles of Romantic Era constantly changing each one reflected the attitudes of the artists of that styles and at the same time changing history. When comparing a picture from the two different styles, it is easy to depict these differences. With the number of differences between the two styles, I find it fascinating what the two styles were trying to achieve. One believed in being independent while the other focused on structure. With almost how opposite these two styles were made for some very amazing paintings and extract very different reactions. And, with different ideas from both sides, you could two very different perspectives on maybe the same object of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
