UoPeople Proctored Exams
The definition of a proctor is a supervisor especially of an examination or dormitory in a school
The Free Dictionary. To me, proctoring means that an individual has been asked to watch over a
student or students while they take a test or take a final exam. A proctor is a responsible, reliable
person who has been designated to watch students and be honest and not help them cheat. University
of the People students are required to successfully complete the required number of proctored
exams prior to graduation according to their degree program. It is a condition of awarding a degree
and diploma and students cannot graduate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students are also strictly prohibited from offering the proctor any payment or other benefit in return
for the proctor s willingness to supervise the exam UoPeople Catalog. A proctor must meet all these
requirements in order to proctor the student exams.
In order to register a proctor of you choice with the university you have to log into the Student

The Organizational Culture Of The Beef Industry
1.Introduction When the Beef industry took a hit about ten years ago, one company who was able
to stabilize itself in the rocky market was KBJ Beef Processing Equipment. The question now that
they have successfully implemented a new system into stabilizing their business, is how do they
begin to thrive in it? Currently, the system they have implemented is much more effective than the
prior. One key to the new system was the idea of reduced roles. This was key strategy because it
allowed the company to consolidate and focus on themselves rather than worry about the market.
Instead of panicking, they looked inward to discover the key to surviving in a sinking market.
2.What are the New Ideas The organizational culture within the company... Show more content on

This makes sure that the people in command are not only reliable, but if they are struggling to
meet the deadlines and goals of the company, they can easily be replaced by a younger more
incentivized employee. This kind of revolving door of productivity allows the workers to
understand how the company is performing and how each of their jobs is benefiting the
company. This kind of high employee efficiency mixed with happy workers produces an
outcome that will save KBJ Beef Processing Equipment from the seemingly inevitable downfall
of the beef market. 3.Comparisons The main reason Suede implemented this structure was
because the efficiency of the company was not where it needed to be in order to survive the
tough times. When information or tasks were sent down the chain of command, it was usually
too late or often not even deemed worth solving. Suede on the other hand wants to create a
system where every small problem, no matter how small, is solved so the company can continue
to operate on as high of a level as possible. He was also able to turn the mentality of the company
completely around. Placing the responsibilities of the employees completely on their own
shoulders was the best thing to happen to KBJ Beef Processing Equipment. This way when an
employee falters, the only person they can blame is themselves. This creates almost a military
sense of teamwork. When everyone takes care of themselves and

Biological Weapons Should Not Be Used During War Time
Did you know that biological weapons contain such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other
microorganisms(ncwiseowl.com). Chemicals weapons is a specialized munition that uses
chemicals formulated to inflict death or harm on humans(ncwiseowl.com). When biological
weapons are in use about 500 million people could die and when chemical weapons are in use
anyone in the area could get hurt/sick(ncwiseowl.com). So the military should not use during
war time. Biological/Chemical weapons are the type of weapons that should not be used in a
time of war. When using these weapons there capable of killing most of the people that are in the
area where the weapon has been used. These weapons are capable of killing thousand possible
millions, in other word any living organism that is in the area. There also the possibility of killing
people that aren t even in the war they might just be in the area.... Show more content on

The weapons could kill Вј of the population thin the area. So the people can t do anything about
the use of the weapons because they can t control the war. The people just watch their own die
or be to near dead. When the use of the weapons people that weren t in the war can get killed then
people can get involved in a war that isn t theirs. When considering the Good side of the use of
the biological/chemical weapons, you can take out massive amount of people in one go. If you
consider a group of people a threat you can kill most without losing any of you troop or soldiers.
You could use the weapo without the other side knowing that you even used the weapon. You
could also use it as a last resort to kill of the rest of the enemy or the thing you are trying to kill.
My final statement is the biological and chemical weapon should not be used in time of war.
Theses weapons could be unstable and kill many. People that aren t involved in the war could get
killed and no one wants

The Impact Of The Plaza Accord
The Plaza Accord or Plaza Agreement was the agreement, which signed in 1985 at Plaza Hotel in
New York City, among the G 5 nations which included France, Germany, the United States, Japan,
and the United Kingdom agreed to operate exchange rates by depreciating US dollar relative to the
Japanese yen and the German Deutsche mark. The objective of the Plaza Accordwas to correct trade
imbalances between the U.S. and Germany and the U.S. and Japan. Also to help the U.S. improve
its huge trade deficit and to stimulate its economy to climb out of the 1980 s long recession.
The United States experienced 3% GDP growth during 1983 and 1984 with a current account
deficit approaching approximately 3 3.5% of GDP, while European nations faced a negative GDP
growth of 0.7% with huge trade surpluses. The same thing happened to Japan. Trade deficits in
general need foreign financing. During the early to mid 80s, for the United States, Japan and West
Germany were buying United States bonds, notes and bills from their surpluses to finance our
current deficits at the expense of their own economies.
In 1985, inflation was low and growth was rapid. Low inflation allowed for low interest rates,
however there was a threat of protectionist tariffs entering the economy. The US was... Show more

The impact of the intervention was immediate and within two years the dollar had fallen relative
to Germany Deutsche mark and relative to the Yen. The Us Economy also became geared more
toward exports, while Germany and Japan increased their imports too. This helped resolve the
current account deficits and helped to minimise protectionist policies. However, among the G 5
nations Japan was badly affected, from the Plaza Accord, by the dramatic rise in the Yen it s

Player 3 And 4 Case Study
When the ball is passed to the corner, Player Two must immediately run out and guard Opponent
Three at 3 point line as displayed in Figure 14. While this transition occurs, Player Five must also
quickly drop down to guard Opponent Four at the low post and Player One must also come
down to the high post in order to deny the pass to Opponent Five. Also, Player Three should
move down closer to the 3 point line in order to help defend, but also to be in the passing lane
back to Opponent One. Lastly, Player Four should come into the paint and must be ready to
defend the lob pass to Opponent Four and to defend the high post if Opponent Five receives the
ball; Player Four must also be ready to run out to the wing and guard the 3 point shot of Opponent
Two if the ball is skipped across the court.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the ball enters the high post, there are many ways and different scenarios that take place;
the closest player on the bottom of the zone near the rim that does not already have a player in
his/her zone should shift over to defend the high post from scoring the basket while the closest
player at the top of the zone should slide down a little bit to help defend the high post. If the ball
enters the high post, the opponent will have many chances to score because most of the defending
players in the zone are spread out and there are only two players guarding the rim in the paint. The
best way to defend the high post is to keep the ball from entering the high post because that is the
weakness of the 3 2

Pros And Cons Of Gun Control In The United States
Controlling Our Guns is not the Way to go Being a daughter of a game warden and also growing
up in the rural southern parts of Tennessee, I have always been exposed to firearms my entire
life. There is a famous quote that is relevant to gun control, there are no bad guns, only bad men
(Squires, 2002). Placing restrictions on firearms has been one of the biggest political affairs in not
only America but other countries as well. Firearms in America make up $24 billion of our
economy, therefore, we can say that guns play a major role in the U.S. Many people believe
implementing gunlaws and regulations seems to be more of a disadvantage than an advantage to
our country, because gun control has failed in places like Ireland and the United Kingdom.... Show

The definition of gun control involves politics, legislation, and how the use of firearms is being
restricted (Charles, 2015). The main arguments over gun control is mainly a relationship between
the state s powers to regulate public order over citizens (Spitzer, 1998). Controlling our guns does
not reduce crime and violence which has been demonstrated by other countries such as Ireland and
the United Kingdom and the United States government should look to those countries as examples.
When the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution, they wrote it based on justice and what was
fair to the American people. The purpose of the Constitution is to be the law of the land, therefore,
it establishes and maintains order for that provides a guiding hand for citizens (Spitzer, 1998).
Laws banning firearms would only be followed by the law abiding. Citizens living in the United
States have had access to guns since the beginning when they were used to hunt and gather food
and as a mean of protection. Nowadays, hunting is still a sport enjoyed by millions, who already
have many regulations that they must follow. When the Second Amendment was written, it was
meant for everyone is the United States. Its intentions were for Americans to be able to protect
themselves in times of

True Starfish
True starfish are classified in the Asteroidea, a group of echinoderms. True starfish have no sharp
demarcation between arms and central body, and they move using tube feet rather than wriggling
movements of the whole arms. True starfish and ophiuroids shared a common ancestor in the
Ordovician. Most starfish are predators, feeding on sessile or slow moving prey such as mollusks
and barnacles. (example: crown of thorns starfish, Acanthaster specializes on corals, and may do
considerable damage to coral reefs.) Many, but not all, starfish are able to turn a portion of their
stomachs out through the mouth, and thus digest food outside of the body.
The Taxonomy of a starfish is they are Animalia group, Kingdom is Bilateria, Deuterostomia.

Captive Orcas Killer Whales
Though often seen as fierce killing machines, Orca whales, more commonly known as killer
whales, are much different. In some ways, these mysterious creatures are much like humans.
Many people are fascinated by these whales when they see them perform in marine parks such as
SeaWorld. What most people don t realize is that the life of these whales is not as great as it may
seem. There is much evidence that proves captive life will never be adequate. There is no doubt
that life in captivity is no match for life in the wild. Orcas exhibit unnatural behaviors and
aggressive tendencies in captivity that do not occur in the wild. In captivity, orcas have been known
to show aggressive tendencies resulting in injury and even death. While there... Show more content

The longest a captive born Orca has very lived is twenty five years (Rose, 3). The average life
expectancy is six years in captivity. Eighty six percent of 135+ whales in captivity since 1961
are now dead (KIWE, 3). SeaWorld, one of the most famous marine parks exhibiting Orca
whales, has experienced approximately one Orca death a year since beginning their breeding
program. It is reasonable and logical to expect at least a third of all captive whales to still be
alive today considering the number of males and females, years since the first Orca entered
captivity, and life expectancies in the wild, but only twenty percent is still living. The most
parsimonious explanation for this failure to show improved survivorship, despite the effort by
Oceanaria to advance husbandry techniques in the past forty five years, is that Orcas are
inherently unsuited to confinement (Rose, 3). Not only are Orcas far too intelligent to be held
captive, but also captivity does not meet their familial and social needs. In the wild, Orcas have
complex familial and social relationships with those in their pods that they are not able to sustain
in captivity due to being placed in a pool with and artificial family. Orcas typically spend their
entire lives with their families unless taken away (Cronin, 2). In captivity, the young are separated
from their mothers. At SeaWorld, after a four and a half year old Orca was taken away from

Tim Burton Influences
Tim Burton the creator of a plethora of childhood films is in numerous of ways, so to say one of
the best directors. The style of Tim Burton is very different to the regular fairy tales that people
are used to. Often times the setting is dark and around someone different. One attribute that sets
Tim Burton away from other directors is his influences from when he was a kid. Tim Burton uses
many thoughts that some may call junk. However, he uses these tools to create a whole new
image that he interpreted in a whole new way. Many of Tim Burton s works were often influenced
by Dr. Seuss, Edgar Allen Poe, and Vincent Price. They often promoted rhyme and plot in an
extraordinary way. However the characteristics that actually set him apart from the... Show more

All of Tim Burton s movies have some sort of editing that allows the setting and plot to be in the
right places and location at all times. As Tim Burton uses editing for a myriad of his animated
and stop motion projects it helps construct the vision of the pictures flow smoother and have a
more desired effect that intrigues people. These effects can be seen in all films, however, better in
some than others. We see excellent use of editing from Tim Burton in graphics and video quality
to produce things look better and flow easier. Some examples of this, come in the movies of
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(2005) and Edward Scissorhands(1990). For example, we see
that in Charlie and the Chocolate factory(2005) the editing plays a big role in what we think of
the characters and our viewpoints of the characters simply by the editing and graphical imagery.
Augustus Gloop, a fat boy with tiny eyes of German descent, to make the character Tim Burton
used editing to create a child who was fat and animated to make an appearance that didn t hurt
the casters feeling of being fat and unfit. Another example is in Edward Scissorhands(1990) we
see the look of the town in a plastic and unrealistic and cheap way. The way that it looked showed
how artificial and unlifelike the town really was. These examples show how animating and editing
can greatly change how we see the image of a character or

Why The Fast Food Restaurant Essay
As I pushed the door open, I came to realize why the fast food restaurant was rated only three
stars. The food, it did not satisfy me, and it cost more than the ones I bought sporadically. As I
walked towards the ACC Highland campus, a man approached me. He was shorter, skinnier, and
more fragile than I am. Excuse me, do you have thirty seven cents? I don t have enough money for
the bus, he said. Whenever someone new approaches me, I always feel nervous, and this moment
was no different. I am sorry. I used the money to buy food I ate, I quickly said.
It s all right, he hopelessly replied.
He walked away, moving towards the restaurant, anticipating to get money from someone else.
Someone kind.
Someone who s willing to give a response that could make his day.
Someone that s not a liar unlike me.
As I walked towards the community college, my mind fluttered.
Why? Why did I lie? It was a simple 37 cents. Something that could have saved him from going
through the trouble of asking any more people than he has asked already. I even had a dime in my
pocket. I should have given that to him. Or I could have given him the full thirty seven cents from
my wallet. Why did I get nervous!?
I got frustrated. I felt regret. I started feeling hate towards myself and hoped that he would find a
kind person who was willing to give him thirty seven cents.

Essay on The Poor Law
The Poor Law
The Poor Law was a system established since the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, about two hundred
years before the Poor Law Amendment Act of 1834. In this system the able bodied poor should
be set to work, whilst the others had to be provided for by their parish of birth. By 1795 when the
whole system was under strain, an attempted solution was the Speenhamland system also know as
the allowance system that was devised in 1795. This was devised to relieve the acute distress of
the poor by giving money to families calculated according to the number of children and the price
of bread.
As the Poor Law was becoming increasingly costly throughout the years, there had to be change in
order ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was obvious that the same new measures were needed primarily to save money on the rates but
also possibly to tackle the causes of poverty. No solution appeared other than the complete
abolishment of the poor allowance, which few wanted. Under the allowance system, one could
work and receive outdoor relief in the form of cash payments as long as you resided in the parish
of your birth. This system was said to encourage laziness as the poor would have no incentive to
work hard or to respect their employers as they knew that their parish would look after them. The
allowance system was regarded by the ruling class as an unmitigated evil . Payment of allowances
was thought to encourage reckless breeding and immorality and the inflated poor rates were a
grievance burden on agriculture, hindering investment and enterprises, crushing the small tenant or
freeholder. Farmers no longer had to pay their labourers decent wages when they could get relief
from the parish.
The administration of the Poor relief and contracts for Poor Law work for supplying food, were
awarded to local tradesmen rather than put to open tender. Overseers were the ones who would
determine who was deserving and who was undeserving . But concerned ratepayers suggested that
these two sections were one way in which vested interests were exploiting the system. This led to
criticisms towards these as it was believed that

peoples minds. Whether it s because of its famous Macbooks and iMac s, or the new iPhone 4,
the iPad, or its renowned iPod, all of whom make up part of the revolutionary repertoire of Apple
products. Farhad Manjoo celebrates the fact that Apple cultivates religious fervor among its
adherents in a number of subtle ways, including its mysteriousness and its suggestion that

The Marketing Of Wal Mart
The Good The traditional Wal Mart is the one that all consumers have come to know and love in
their communities. What is the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of Wal Mart?
One stop shopping, a place where a consumer can get it all, clothes, food, shoes, and electronics.
The list is vast because Wal Mart carries many types of items. Wal mart has the items and the
pricing is reasonable. The local Wal mart is also convenient because they are twenty four hours,
seven days a week and open on holidays. The lights are continuously on at Wal Mart. It meets the
fast pace of society because of the one stop experience. Hence, this is the reason competitors refer
to them as monopolist because they dominate every aspect of shopping in the experience.
Furthermore, they have built a reputation for catering to their customers through their strategic
marketing plans like price matching, layaway and more. The Bad Wal Mart has many positives
but what about their negative aspects. One might ask, what could possibly be negative about Wal
Mart? Some consumers do not equate bigger to better. The large size can hinder the concept of it
being a quick stop and shop experience. The convenience of them carrying many items can become
an issue when the consumer is looking to run and get out quickly. In most cases, it just does not
happen. The large assortment of items can cause consumers to buy more compulsively, which can
be a drawback for entering the store. Personal

The Process Of Manufacture Is Different Per Company
The process of manufacture is different per company and varies greatly between not only
company but cheeses as there are so many variables which can be used to alter the moisture,
colour, texture and taste of a cheese. Bega has a simplified version which is easier to understand
and eliminates much of the jargon normally used.
The milk is milked from the dairy cattle either by a robotic or semi automatic system. This milk is
stored at 4В°c until the tests have been carried out to determine the quality of the milk and what
type of cheese this would best fit. Once these tests have been carried out to ensure the quality and
the safety of the milk then the first step is standardisation . This is where the components (protein

Pasteurisation is the sterilisation step which is required by legislation to ensure that all
pathogenic bacteria are killed to make the milk and any bi products safe for human
consumption. The process of pasteurisation is that of the milk being heated to a minimum of 72
75В°c (depending on the company) for at least 15 seconds. This kills off the harmful pathogenic
bacteria. This process is done in a way so that the milk may be heated without burning the milk
which would cause a taste and colour change. The milk passes through a series of plates under
pressure; these plates are heated by steam that is used to heat water and in turn heat the plates.
This in turn heats the milk to the desired temperature to complete pasteurisation. To cool the milk
without freezing the milk, the process is similar but a complete polar opposite. The milk is put
through another series of plates that are cooled by chilled water that in turn cools the milk to a
set temperature . The cooling to a set temperature is done prior to being added to the cheese
making vats. The vats typically may have a capacity of 14,000 litres each but may vary between
each manufacturing site. By the time the last vat, usually the eighth) is filled then the first will
have been emptied (the milk used), washed and is ready to fill again so that there is always milk
ready to use at any time rather than all being ready to use at the same time.

South Syrian City Of Deraa Devolved Into A Full Blown...
In March 2011, peaceful protests in the southern Syrian city of Deraa devolved into a full blown
civil conflict. Within the last five years, more than 12.2 million people have been impacted, with
7.6 million people displaced inside Syria and more than 3.8 million displaced in neighboring
nations. The majority of refugees are now living in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt and Iraq. The
current concern about the humanitarian crisis is whether the aid is reaching refugees or being
diverted in ways that bolster a prolonged civil war. For this essay s purpose, aid is defined as aid
and action designed to save lives, alleviate suffering and maintain and protect human dignity during

Although the current aid set up is intended to cover all existing needs inside Syria, national and
international aid is being highly controlled by the Bashar al Assad regime, and aid beyond the
Damascus borders is extremely limited. Recently, there have been numerous reports issued by the
Syrian government that opposition rebels are seizing international aid, and rebels responded with
accusations of regime forces starving besieged towns. Thus, humanitarian aid organizations are
required to distribute aid through local non governmental organizations (NGOs) that are already
operating at full capacity and have a limited geographical scope. This atmosphere

The Importance Of Sports In Sports
According to statisticbrain.com there are over 36,000,000 kids aged 5 18 who participate in
organized sports in the U.S. and statistically less than 3% of them will end up making a career out
of their sport. If the likeliness of a child making a career out of their sport is so low why must we
treat young athletes like they win even when they lose? Although some may argue that awarding
kids with trophies helps keep them motivated to keep practicing I argue that the participant needs to
be able to motivate him or herself rather than having something physical as motivation. Aside from
teaching kids to be motivated by trophies, giving them underserved awards undermines the kids
success and does not help prepare them for real life where the competition is real and awards and
earned not received. Having competed in soccer, basketball, football and wrestling growing up I
understand the conflicted feeling when everyone on the team whether they played or not got the
exact same meaningless trophy as me. After having these trophies for a few years and reading
participationtrophy reiteratively allowed me to realize how much time I wasted in sports I wasn t
good at because of these motivators . Participation trophies remove the concept of failure, teaches
unrealistic life lessons and undermines the receiver s success allowing them to feel short term
happiness until understanding what they received.

What Is My Passion In Life Essay
Sometimes it s hard to find that little thing in life that makes you succeed. That small detail that
brings you a long way. Passion is a never ending journey. A trait that My journey started out when
I was only four years old. I got to that age where my parents were ready to send me off for an extra
activity to keep me occupied. I started out like every other little girl, a ballerina. Dance class was
the highlight of my week. I looked forward to dancing in front of a mirror with my class and on
top of it got to have the opportunity to wear my pink sparkly leotard. After two years of two tutus

The Current State of the U.S. Economy Essay
The Current State of the U.S. Economy
The United States economy is racing ahead at dangerous speeds, and it may be too late to prevent
the return of widespread inflation. Ideally the economy should move ahead gradually and grow at
a steady manageable rate. Mae West once stated Too much of a good thing can be wonderful and it
seems the U.S. Treasury Secretary agrees. The Secretary announced that due to our increasing
surplus and booming economy, instead of having an outsized tax cut, we should use the surplus to
further pay down the national debt. A tax cut, though most Americans would favor it initially,
would prove counter productive. Cutting taxes would over stimulate an already raging economy,

The federal reserve has raised interest rates five times in less then twelve months, and the
pervious raises are just barely beginning to take effect. The previous raises averaged around a
quarter percentage point, and since these raises failed to slow the economy, Greenspan, unable to
take anymore chances doubled the previous with a promise of more to come. The interest rates
are expected to reach 7.0% by June, the most severally effected by these constant raises are
shareholders. Because of these immediate effects market economists are largely against the
interest rate hikes. Their position is that the average inflation rate over the past three years has
been at around 2% close to the markets expected inflation rate of 1.9%. The economy is on a
sixteen year run, continually moving forward. The historical data is there however; the consumer
price index was at 1.6% over the past twelve months and the March year over year rate was at 3.7%
The market economists do not stop there due to the vast improvements in productivity, largely due
to increased technology and the internet, some market economists argue that Greenspan should
leave the economy as is. Ideally the growth rate of the economy should be set by the growth rate of
the labor force and productivity, and if the two were similar, inflation would not be a factor. The

The Purpose Of The Spanish Armada
On August 1588, an enormous Spanish fleet of 130 ships sailed from A CoruГ±a under the
command of the Duke of Medina Sidonia with the sole purpose of invading England. If the
invasion succeeded, it would change the world and Christianity; there would not be an England,
as we know it, in its place a Spanish colony; Catholicism would prevail as the superior form of
Christianity over Protestantism. There would be no British Empire, but, in its stead, the Spanish
Empire. The USA would be heavily influenced by the Spanish. The world s most spoken language
would be Spanish. But after all, what were the motives of the Spaniards for launching such a vast
invasion on Britain; what was worth all the effort and work? In this essay, the reasons for the
launching of the Spanish Armadawill be covered.
The motives of the Spanish were plenty. The Spanish desired England to be part of their expanding

Mouhave Desert Research Paper
The Extreme Summer in the Mohave Desert
The Mohave Desert spreads across Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and some parts of the State of
California; and its climate reflects extremes of hot and cold. At winter temperatures are cold, as
low as 8 degree Fahrenheit, while the summer reaches about 120 degree Fahrenheit, winds are
present year round and blow at about 25 MPH regularly and there are gusts of 75MPH. There is no
time were the extreme weather is sustainable.
I was wrong and learned the lesson the hard way, mostly when extreme things happen to someone,
the first thing that comes to mind is taking an extreme measure; I was one of those people who
took extreme measures. My decision to move to Nevada was made in two weeks time when 16

The scientific, medical explanation about hyperthermia is that thermal regulation centers around
the brain help to maintain the internal body temperature by adjusting the amount of salts in
perspiration. Electrolytes help the cells in body tissues maintain water balance. In hot weather, a
healthy body will lose enough water to cool the body while creating the lowest level of electrolyte
imbalance. If the body loses too much salt and fluid, symptoms of dehydration will occur. The
healthy human body keeps a steady temperature of 37 degree Celsius, in hot weather, the body
perspires. As perspiration evaporates from the skin, the body is cooled, then the thermal regulating
system in the brain helps the body adapt to high temperature.
The extreme heat waves of the Mohave dessert are not responsible for damaging the magnificent
gadget of the human body, but our day to day decisions on how and where we want to live has a
great impact in our healthy lifestyle. I believe the weather is one of the most important factors
when we choose a place to live; extremes in any regards are not healthy, this applies to the weather

Common Man All Seasons
The Common Man The play A Man for All seasons , written by Robert Bolt is a dramatic
historical play that plots the dramatic downfall of Thomas More. The Common Man, pictured as a
man who is normal and will do anything, manages to stay covert. His ability to find the path of
least resistance as well as remaining unnoticed allows him to survive the outcome of the play. The
theatrical devices he provides are ways to tell the audience his thoughts and the thoughts of the
other characters as well. Ultimately, the Common Man s double role provides the audience with
thoughts and actions of characters on and off the stage. Small roles are normally significant in

He could be anyone in the audience at any given time, and his selfishness and craven come to be
seen as traits everyone has dealt with at one time.At the same time, the fast pace changing of roles
come on at faster rate as the play continues. At the end, he switches from More s jailer, to a
juryman, to More s executioner in a short time period, therefore exemplifying the abruptness at
which some often find themselves compiling in situations of which they do not in the end approve
of.The Common Man also implicates the audience by addressing us directly, as an interpreter,
commentator, or narrorator. The speeches that are delivered help keep the audience informed on
past events and upcoming conflicts. In addition, the personality of the other characters gives the
audience insight into the story. The Common Man s roles however minor still contribute greatly to

the Common Man is, The Sixteenth Century is the Century of the Common Man . To show this,
the Common Man plays a copious amount of roles each one being a regular job. When playing the

Research Paper On Hypnosis
A common question is, what is hypnosis and how does it work? According to the American
Psychology Association hypnosis is a therapeutic technique in which clinicians make suggestions to
individuals who have undergone a procedure designed to relax them and focus their minds
(American Psychology Association, 2016). Hypnosisis called hypnotherapy and hypnotic
suggestion. James Braid, a 19th century Scottish surgeon originated those terms based on the word
hypnos, which is Greek for to sleep (Harris, 2016).
When the person is hypnotized they feel calm and relaxed. The therapist using verbal repetition
makes them more open to suggestions. The individual being hypnotized is conscious but is able to
ignore the most of everything going on around them. When being hypnotized the person excludes
all other thoughts.

Analysis Of Arrival
Many science fiction movies often have a common theme either the aliens or turn into a generic
overwhelming threat and humanity has to band together to fight against them, like in the films
such as Independence Day and Battle: Los Angeles, or the aliens are use as a more colorful
backdrop to make the universe seem more diverse, such as in the films Star Trek and Star Wars,
or they are left entirely out and focus on humanity s endeavors into space and their failings.
Arrival, however, is a science fiction film that uses the premise of an alien invasion to disguise an
even deeper meaning. Arrival uses this premise to tackle the issue of xenophobia. Xenophobia is
an intense or irrational fear or dislike of people from a foreign country or culture. The film, Arrival,
is a testament against xenophobia and shows that if humanity were to overcome their fear of the
unknown and work together, they may achieve a great number of things. In Denis Villeneuve s
science fiction filmArrival, the director explores a very different view of reality, akin the guise of
an alien invasion. Arrival is based on the 1998 novella Story of Your Life, by Ted Chiang, the story
contemplates the difficult task and the consequences of communicating with an alien species
during first contact. The film opens up when twelve extraterrestrial spaceships appear at twelve
different places around the globe. Colonel Weber, a U.S. Army officer, recruits Louise Banks, a

Effects of Alcohol
There are many opinions that have been put across regarding alcohol consumption. Some are
biased while others are based on either prejudice or beliefs. However the truth is that alcohol has
its own merits and demerits. Every drinker has already at least some of the short term alcohol

quite late. Heavy drinking results to a staggering walk, indistinct words and memory lapses. Upon

WW1 Battle Analysis
The Germans lost 6 men killed out of the 85 who set out on the attack with 15 wounded. The
Belgium defenders lost 23 men killed and 59 wounded (Trueman, 2015). The fall of what was to

(Martin, 2001). While Laughridge argues that these tactics, training, and weaponry combined with
the element of complete surprise, and were the primary reasons for the phenomenal successes that

allowed this to happen.

Similarly, referring to the emplacement of countermeasures to prevent glider landings, McNab
argues, had [the Belgian high command] been more energetically committed to maintaining the
vigor of its defences, it might have prevented the fall of Eben Emael with nothing more than a
few pieces of steel or wood (2013, p. 72). In both cases, overcoming intelligence deficiencies could
have had a dramatic impact on the battle, which would have had far reaching implications for the

Strategic and Financial Planning
Plans are worthless, but planning is everything (Eisenhower, 1957). Businesses that fail to plan
are very likely to fail and at best will not recognize the full spectrum of profit avenues available to
them. Strategic planning helps firms to define how they will make money in the future. Financial
planning goes further into depth using the strategic plan as a baseline and helps firms determine
their short term and long term budgets as well as the possible effectiveness of their plans. The
innovative nature of business requires firms to plan out new initiatives to determine costs they will
incur, possible profits from sales, and what kind of risk they will encounter.

Barnes and Noble has dropped the price on the legacy Nook Color and Nook tablet due to an
extremely competitive market with both Amazon and Apple. The price cuts on the Nooks were
intended to make them more competitive with the Amazon Kindle Fire. The Nook Color now

(National Institute of Drug Abuse, 2012). Most commonly utilized by amateur body builders or just
people trying to bulk up, the synthetic testosteroneis banned in all levels of sporting competition, for
quite blatantly giving an unfair physical advantage to the user. Anabolic steroids are frequently
identified as the most effective muscle gaining supplements around, although studies have shown
how they can have negative effects over long periods of time, both physically and socially,
indicating reasons why the potentially dangerous supplements is illegal. This often brings up a lot

Both men and women who regularly use gym facilities or find another effective means of
working out, especially those that are trying to put on more general muscle mass, will rightfully
argue that use of steroids is by far the most efficient method to do so. Anabolic steroids cut out
fat, allow for more oxygen to reach the muscles and make room for more pure muscle to grow
(Fahey, T.D. 1998). Socially they can enhance both the performance and aesthetic appearance of
the user, giving the user a new found confidence which can help them out in all areas of life and
interaction with other people. Sexual arousal and performance is also significantly boosted through
the use of steroids, being a positive for anyone in a steady relationship. These can be attractive
propositions to many younger adults and will have them supporting the legal use of these hormone

Michelangelo s Tomb
Each and every work of art is influenced largely by its making, use and meaning. However, the
degree to which an artwork is influenced by these factors can vary. An artwork, which I believe
has been influenced by these three factors, is Michelangelo s Tomb (1570); this work was
completed by Giorgio Vasari (1511 1574). It is located in Santa Croce, Florence. Vasari dedicated a
whole chapter Michelangeloin his book The Lives of the Artists (first published 1550). In this
chapter he writes He (God) decided, in order to rid us of so many errors, to send to earth a spirit
who, working alone, was able to demonstrate in every profession the meaning of perfection in the
art of design. Michelangelo s family were not well off and his father Lodovico... Show more content

However more ambiguous is what Vasari is attempting to convey about both his feelings toward
Michelangelo and Michelangelo himself. This tomb would have been intended to be
commemorative, to show respect and appreciation and in order to provide a space of remembrance.
During the Renaissance time period it was fairly common for important members of the public to
be commemorated in similar ways to that of religious figures (i.e. elaborate tombs). However, there
was another type of memorialisation, in equestrian monuments; these were often reserved for
military generals. An example of an equestrian monument is the Gattamelata (1453). This tomb is
placed just inside the door of the main basilica of Sante Croce; this significant placement proves the

In the fiscal period from year 2000 to 2004, Allergan Inc. has seen a continuous rise in sales and
profits. In the year ended 2004, net income reached a high of $377 million and there is certainly no
reason to believe that number won t continue to grow . Although most of our company s sales
comes from our line of eye care pharmaceuticals, It is the BOTOX/neuromodulators line that sees
the most promise in growth.
With 80% of our BOTOX products being used for cosmetic purposes, a great market potential is

For Allergan, the current legal environment in Korea is favorable for marketingmany of its

little worry for the BOTOX line which currently doesn t even have a patent in the U.S. The process
of making BOTOX is complicated and only known to Allergan. Even without a patent, there is little
chance of other companies cultivating their own process of making similar products.

Human Resources: Tough Labor Laws Handling distribution of Allergan products in South
Korea will be crucial in a successful operation, requiring a significant amount of labor. While
Korea s workforce is well educated and hardworking, foreign investment into the country is

CO2 is released as a waste product. The 2 carbon acetyl group binds to coenzyme A. At this point,
the process starts to move into the mitochondria and the Krebs Cycle is initiated. There is a net
gain of 2 ATP and 2 molecules of NADH produced.
During Krebs Cycle, the acetyl CoA breaks down further into two molecules of carbon dioxide
during each turn of the cycle. In the process, the molecules FAD and NAD are reduced to FADH2
and NADH. 2 ATP is generated during the Krebs Cycle.
The reduced FADH2 and NADH enter the Electron Transport System where they are re oxidized to
FAD and NAD. These electrons release energy which forms 32 ATP molecules.
During aerobic respiration, there is a total net gain of 36 ATP.

Metal Alloy Essay
Latest, novel engineering metal alloys have attracted considerable attention from research
groups and industrial facilities globally because of their remarkable properties. Metallic glasses,
or amorphous metals, are metallic alloys with non crystalline structures. Instead, it has a
disordered structure, with atoms occupying random positions in a lack of long range order, as
can be schematically seen in Figure 2.1. Figure 2.1 Atomic structure of Cu65Zr35 glass, Cu

According to Central Maine Medical Center policy on temporary pacing, the pacer works to deliver
direct electrical stimulation to stimulate the myocardium to depolarize which initiates a mechanical
contraction when the sinoatrial node is unable to do so. Temporary pacing of the heart is indicated
in multiple circumstances. It is primarily used after a valve surgery. However the pacer is also used
for the maintenance of inadequate heartrate and rhythm during surgery, postoperative recovery,
cardiac catheterization, coronary angioplasty, certain drug therapies that cause bradycardia and
before implantation of a permanent pacemaker. It can also be used to stabilize heart beats after a

Postoperatively, pediatric patients typically exhibit low cardiac output. The study by Pediatric
Cardiology provided temporary pacing to pediatric patients who underwent cardiovascular surgery
with efforts to help enhance cardiac output postoperatively. 60 pediatric patients under the age of
18 consented to participate in the study. However, only 30 of the consenting patients were able to
take part in the study. The 30 patients were unable to take part in the study largely because they
became tachycardic at baseline postoperatively. Once temporary pacing was placed in the eligible
patients, no benefit was determined. Cardiac output did no increase any faster than pediatric
surgical patients who did not receive temporary pacing. Because the subjects in this study consisted
of such a small subset, the author determined that even though temporary pacing was not beneficial
for any of the patients in the study, temporary pacing will be beneficially to patients suffering from
bradycardia postoperatively because the pacer will help maintain a normal sinus

A Dance Studio Is Hectic Time Of Year Essay
A dance studio is hectic this time of year. The excitement of young girls putting on their tutus for
the first time to the honor and pride of graduating seniors who are about to perform in their last
dance recital. The energy is high and complex. As the seniors rehearsed their senior piece, I
watched with other instructors and younger dancers. The younger students looked at them in
amazement, dreaming to be in their shoes one day. But something was missing. Someone. I
walked back into the lobby and saw her. She sat in a chair behind the front desk in track shorts
and a Pittsburg T shirt. Parents of other students walked by congratulating her on her graduation.
She smiled graciously and thanked them. Life is unpredictable. One minute you re the star of
the studio. A prima ballerina. And the next moment you find yourself in a cast, sitting behind a
desk, folding programs. I walked over and sat next to her. Hi, Ms. Kori. Hey, Ashley. Do you mind
if we talk for a minute? I have to do an interview for a class. We could go grab some ice cream or
coffee. Her face lit up and she had only one word to say. Starbucks. I helped her into Starbucks
and took her order. She hobbled over to a table, struggling with her crutches. I walked over to the
table with our coffee and sat across from her. Now, let s get started. I said with a smile. I took out
my notepad as she patiently sipped her caramel macchiatto. Alright, how

However, the Trans Pacific Partnership has been secretly conducting the Intellectual Property
Protection Provision (IPPP) to counteract the purpose of the OHIP. Instead of providing
medication and free health services, the agreement makes access to health care more expensive
and less accessible. Leaked documents found by Stephen Cornish, director of Docrtors Without
Boarders/MГ©decins Sans FrontiГ©res, wrote an article entitled Trans Pacific Partnership which
reveal the Patent Extension Provision law part of the IPPP allowing a 20 year extended patent
guarantee for modifications on existing drugs. The effect of this will increase drug costs, lengthen
the time period needed to put new medication on shelves, and delay generic competitions from
producing less expensive versions of drugs which are vital to global health. The U.S.A is also
pushing for stringent intellectual property protections on drugs to give dominant pharmaceutical
companies longer monopolies over generic brand name drugs. According to Scott Sinclair and
Stuart Trew from The National Observer, they stated in their article Implications for Canada of a
Fast Tracked TPP that patent extensions will add at least $800 million annually to Canadian drug
costs, which is already the second highest in the world.

Analysis Of Matthew 22 s The Kingdom Of Heaven
Why do you suppose Jesus mentions what this man was wearing? Listen to me, everything that
Jesus says and does in the New Testament is very important! Whatever the garment is that this man
has on is a social faux pas to the celebration that he has been invited to. The rest of the parable is
pretty straightforward as Jesusdescribes the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of heaven is like...
Remember at the beginning of the parable, we are told that the first group that was invited to the
wedding, refused to attend. When the King heard about it, he was furious, and he sent out his
armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city, Matthew 22:7 8 NKJV. The King then
declared an open invitation to everyone to attend the marriage of his son.
The parable in Matthew 22 is a profound teaching. It shows that the invitation to salvation is the
same as receiving an invitation to the wedding of the Messiah. That is why the garment that the
one man had on was such an irritation to the King. It was not so much what the man was
wearing per se. It was a heart issue! The apostle John tells us the significance of wedding
garments in Revelation 19. And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound
of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings saying: Alleluia! For the Lord God
Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb
has come, and His wife has made herself ready. And to her it was granted to be

  • 3. The Organizational Culture Of The Beef Industry 1.Introduction When the Beef industry took a hit about ten years ago, one company who was able to stabilize itself in the rocky market was KBJ Beef Processing Equipment. The question now that they have successfully implemented a new system into stabilizing their business, is how do they begin to thrive in it? Currently, the system they have implemented is much more effective than the prior. One key to the new system was the idea of reduced roles. This was key strategy because it allowed the company to consolidate and focus on themselves rather than worry about the market. Instead of panicking, they looked inward to discover the key to surviving in a sinking market. 2.What are the New Ideas The organizational culture within the company... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This makes sure that the people in command are not only reliable, but if they are struggling to meet the deadlines and goals of the company, they can easily be replaced by a younger more incentivized employee. This kind of revolving door of productivity allows the workers to understand how the company is performing and how each of their jobs is benefiting the company. This kind of high employee efficiency mixed with happy workers produces an outcome that will save KBJ Beef Processing Equipment from the seemingly inevitable downfall of the beef market. 3.Comparisons The main reason Suede implemented this structure was because the efficiency of the company was not where it needed to be in order to survive the tough times. When information or tasks were sent down the chain of command, it was usually too late or often not even deemed worth solving. Suede on the other hand wants to create a system where every small problem, no matter how small, is solved so the company can continue to operate on as high of a level as possible. He was also able to turn the mentality of the company completely around. Placing the responsibilities of the employees completely on their own shoulders was the best thing to happen to KBJ Beef Processing Equipment. This way when an employee falters, the only person they can blame is themselves. This creates almost a military sense of teamwork. When everyone takes care of themselves and ... • 4. Biological Weapons Should Not Be Used During War Time Did you know that biological weapons contain such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microorganisms(ncwiseowl.com). Chemicals weapons is a specialized munition that uses chemicals formulated to inflict death or harm on humans(ncwiseowl.com). When biological weapons are in use about 500 million people could die and when chemical weapons are in use anyone in the area could get hurt/sick(ncwiseowl.com). So the military should not use during war time. Biological/Chemical weapons are the type of weapons that should not be used in a time of war. When using these weapons there capable of killing most of the people that are in the area where the weapon has been used. These weapons are capable of killing thousand possible millions, in other word any living organism that is in the area. There also the possibility of killing people that aren t even in the war they might just be in the area.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The weapons could kill Вј of the population thin the area. So the people can t do anything about the use of the weapons because they can t control the war. The people just watch their own die or be to near dead. When the use of the weapons people that weren t in the war can get killed then people can get involved in a war that isn t theirs. When considering the Good side of the use of the biological/chemical weapons, you can take out massive amount of people in one go. If you consider a group of people a threat you can kill most without losing any of you troop or soldiers. You could use the weapo without the other side knowing that you even used the weapon. You could also use it as a last resort to kill of the rest of the enemy or the thing you are trying to kill. My final statement is the biological and chemical weapon should not be used in time of war. Theses weapons could be unstable and kill many. • 5. The Impact Of The Plaza Accord The Plaza Accord or Plaza Agreement was the agreement, which signed in 1985 at Plaza Hotel in New York City, among the G 5 nations which included France, Germany, the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom agreed to operate exchange rates by depreciating US dollar relative to the Japanese yen and the German Deutsche mark. The objective of the Plaza Accordwas to correct trade imbalances between the U.S. and Germany and the U.S. and Japan. Also to help the U.S. improve its huge trade deficit and to stimulate its economy to climb out of the 1980 s long recession. The United States experienced 3% GDP growth during 1983 and 1984 with a current account deficit approaching approximately 3 3.5% of GDP, while European nations faced a negative GDP growth of 0.7% with huge trade surpluses. The same thing happened to Japan. Trade deficits in general need foreign financing. During the early to mid 80s, for the United States, Japan and West Germany were buying United States bonds, notes and bills from their surpluses to finance our current deficits at the expense of their own economies. In 1985, inflation was low and growth was rapid. Low inflation allowed for low interest rates, however there was a threat of protectionist tariffs entering the economy. The US was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The impact of the intervention was immediate and within two years the dollar had fallen relative to Germany Deutsche mark and relative to the Yen. The Us Economy also became geared more toward exports, while Germany and Japan increased their imports too. However, among the G 5 nations Japan was badly affected, from the Plaza Accord, by the dramatic rise in the Yen it s exporters unable to remain competitive overseas and Japan also experienced the economic crisis following the Japanese asset price bubble during the 1990s called the Lost ... • 6. Player 3 And 4 Case Study When the ball is passed to the corner, Player Two must immediately run out and guard Opponent Three at 3 point line as displayed in Figure 14. While this transition occurs, Player Five must also quickly drop down to guard Opponent Four at the low post and Player One must also come down to the high post in order to deny the pass to Opponent Five. Also, Player Three should move down closer to the 3 point line in order to help defend, but also to be in the passing lane back to Opponent One. Lastly, Player Four should come into the paint and must be ready to defend the lob pass to Opponent Four and to defend the high post if Opponent Five receives the ball; Player Four must also be ready to run out to the wing and guard the 3 point shot of Opponent Two if the ball is skipped across the court.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the ball enters the high post, there are many ways and different scenarios that take place; the closest player on the bottom of the zone near the rim that does not already have a player in his/her zone should shift over to defend the high post from scoring the basket while the closest player at the top of the zone should slide down a little bit to help defend the high post. If the ball enters the high post, the opponent will have many chances to score because most of the defending players in the zone are spread out and there are only two players guarding the rim in the paint. • 7. Pros And Cons Of Gun Control In The United States Controlling Our Guns is not the Way to go Being a daughter of a game warden and also growing up in the rural southern parts of Tennessee, I have always been exposed to firearms my entire life. There is a famous quote that is relevant to gun control, there are no bad guns, only bad men (Squires, 2002). Placing restrictions on firearms has been one of the biggest political affairs in not only America but other countries as well. Firearms in America make up $24 billion of our economy, therefore, we can say that guns play a major role in the U.S. Many people believe implementing gunlaws and regulations seems to be more of a disadvantage than an advantage to our country, because gun control has failed in places like Ireland and the United Kingdom.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The definition of gun control involves politics, legislation, and how the use of firearms is being restricted (Charles, 2015). The main arguments over gun control is mainly a relationship between the state s powers to regulate public order over citizens (Spitzer, 1998). Controlling our guns does not reduce crime and violence which has been demonstrated by other countries such as Ireland and the United Kingdom and the United States government should look to those countries as examples. When the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution, they wrote it based on justice and what was fair to the American people. The purpose of the Constitution is to be the law of the land, therefore, it establishes and maintains order for that provides a guiding hand for citizens (Spitzer, 1998). Laws banning firearms would only be followed by the law abiding. Citizens living in the United States have had access to guns since the beginning when they were used to hunt and gather food and as a mean of protection. Nowadays, hunting is still a sport enjoyed by millions, who already have many regulations that they must follow. When the Second Amendment was written, it was meant for everyone is the United States. Its intentions were for Americans to be able to protect themselves in times of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

True starfish have no sharp demarcation between arms and central body, and they move using tube feet rather than wriggling movements of the whole arms. True starfish and ophiuroids shared a common ancestor in the Ordovician. Most starfish are predators, feeding on sessile or slow moving prey such as mollusks and barnacles. (example: crown of thorns starfish, Acanthaster specializes on corals, and may do considerable damage to coral reefs.) Many, but not all, starfish are able to turn a portion of their stomachs out through the mouth, and thus digest food outside of the body. • 9. Captive Orcas Killer Whales Though often seen as fierce killing machines, Orca whales, more commonly known as killer whales, are much different. In some ways, these mysterious creatures are much like humans. Many people are fascinated by these whales when they see them perform in marine parks such as SeaWorld. What most people don t realize is that the life of these whales is not as great as it may seem. There is much evidence that proves captive life will never be adequate. There is no doubt that life in captivity is no match for life in the wild. Orcas exhibit unnatural behaviors and aggressive tendencies in captivity that do not occur in the wild. In captivity, orcas have been known to show aggressive tendencies resulting in injury and even death. While there... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The longest a captive born Orca has very lived is twenty five years (Rose, 3). The average life expectancy is six years in captivity. Eighty six percent of 135+ whales in captivity since 1961 are now dead (KIWE, 3). SeaWorld, one of the most famous marine parks exhibiting Orca whales, has experienced approximately one Orca death a year since beginning their breeding program. It is reasonable and logical to expect at least a third of all captive whales to still be alive today considering the number of males and females, years since the first Orca entered captivity, and life expectancies in the wild, but only twenty percent is still living. The most parsimonious explanation for this failure to show improved survivorship, despite the effort by Oceanaria to advance husbandry techniques in the past forty five years, is that Orcas are inherently unsuited to confinement (Rose, 3). Not only are Orcas far too intelligent to be held captive, but also captivity does not meet their familial and social needs. In the wild, Orcas have complex familial and social relationships with those in their pods that they are not able to sustain in captivity due to being placed in a pool with and artificial family. Orcas typically spend their entire lives with their families unless taken away (Cronin, 2). In captivity, the young are separated from their mothers. At SeaWorld, after a four and a half year old Orca was taken away from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Tim Burton Influences Tim Burton the creator of a plethora of childhood films is in numerous of ways, so to say one of the best directors. The style of Tim Burton is very different to the regular fairy tales that people are used to. Often times the setting is dark and around someone different. One attribute that sets Tim Burton away from other directors is his influences from when he was a kid. Tim Burton uses many thoughts that some may call junk. However, he uses these tools to create a whole new image that he interpreted in a whole new way. Many of Tim Burton s works were often influenced by Dr. Seuss, Edgar Allen Poe, and Vincent Price. They often promoted rhyme and plot in an extraordinary way. However the characteristics that actually set him apart from the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All of Tim Burton s movies have some sort of editing that allows the setting and plot to be in the right places and location at all times. As Tim Burton uses editing for a myriad of his animated and stop motion projects it helps construct the vision of the pictures flow smoother and have a more desired effect that intrigues people. These effects can be seen in all films, however, better in some than others. We see excellent use of editing from Tim Burton in graphics and video quality to produce things look better and flow easier. Some examples of this, come in the movies of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(2005) and Edward Scissorhands(1990). For example, we see that in Charlie and the Chocolate factory(2005) the editing plays a big role in what we think of the characters and our viewpoints of the characters simply by the editing and graphical imagery. Augustus Gloop, a fat boy with tiny eyes of German descent, to make the character Tim Burton used editing to create a child who was fat and animated to make an appearance that didn t hurt the casters feeling of being fat and unfit. Another example is in Edward Scissorhands(1990) we see the look of the town in a plastic and unrealistic and cheap way. The way that it looked showed how artificial and unlifelike the town really was. These examples show how animating and editing can greatly change how we see the image of a character or ... The food, it did not satisfy me, and it cost more than the ones I bought sporadically. As I walked towards the ACC Highland campus, a man approached me. He was shorter, skinnier, and more fragile than I am. Excuse me, do you have thirty seven cents? I don t have enough money for the bus, he said. Whenever someone new approaches me, I always feel nervous, and this moment was no different. Something that could have saved him from going through the trouble of asking any more people than he has asked already. I even had a dime in my pocket. I should have given that to him. Or I could have given him the full thirty seven cents from my wallet. Why did I get nervous!? I got frustrated. I felt regret. • 13. Essay on The Poor Law The Poor Law The Poor Law was a system established since the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, about two hundred years before the Poor Law Amendment Act of 1834. In this system the able bodied poor should be set to work, whilst the others had to be provided for by their parish of birth. By 1795 when the whole system was under strain, an attempted solution was the Speenhamland system also know as the allowance system that was devised in 1795. This was devised to relieve the acute distress of the poor by giving money to families calculated according to the number of children and the price of bread. It was obvious that the same new measures were needed primarily to save money on the rates but also possibly to tackle the causes of poverty. No solution appeared other than the complete abolishment of the poor allowance, which few wanted. Under the allowance system, one could work and receive outdoor relief in the form of cash payments as long as you resided in the parish of your birth. This system was said to encourage laziness as the poor would have no incentive to work hard or to respect their employers as they knew that their parish would look after them. The allowance system was regarded by the ruling class as an unmitigated evil . Payment of allowances was thought to encourage reckless breeding and immorality and the inflated poor rates were a grievance burden on agriculture, hindering investment and enterprises, crushing the small tenant or freeholder. Farmers no longer had to pay their labourers decent wages when they could get relief from the parish. The administration of the Poor relief and contracts for Poor Law work for supplying food, were awarded to local tradesmen rather than put to open tender. Overseers were the ones who would determine who was deserving and who was undeserving . But concerned ratepayers suggested that these two sections were one way in which vested interests were exploiting the system. This led to criticisms towards these as it was believed that ... This milk is stored at 4В°c until the tests have been carried out to determine the quality of the milk and what type of cheese this would best fit. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pasteurisation is the sterilisation step which is required by legislation to ensure that all pathogenic bacteria are killed to make the milk and any bi products safe for human consumption. The process of pasteurisation is that of the milk being heated to a minimum of 72 75В°c (depending on the company) for at least 15 seconds. This kills off the harmful pathogenic bacteria. This process is done in a way so that the milk may be heated without burning the milk which would cause a taste and colour change. The milk passes through a series of plates under pressure; these plates are heated by steam that is used to heat water and in turn heat the plates. This in turn heats the milk to the desired temperature to complete pasteurisation. To cool the milk without freezing the milk, the process is similar but a complete polar opposite. The milk is put through another series of plates that are cooled by chilled water that in turn cools the milk to a set temperature . The cooling to a set temperature is done prior to being added to the cheese making vats. The vats typically may have a capacity of 14,000 litres each but may vary between each manufacturing site. If the likeliness of a child making a career out of their sport is so low why must we treat young athletes like they win even when they lose? Although some may argue that awarding kids with trophies helps keep them motivated to keep practicing I argue that the participant needs to be able to motivate him or herself rather than having something physical as motivation. Aside from teaching kids to be motivated by trophies, giving them underserved awards undermines the kids success and does not help prepare them for real life where the competition is real and awards and earned not received. The fall of what was to have been an unbeatable fortress caused a disaster for Belgium for the second time in a generation (Martin, 2001). While Laughridge argues that these tactics, training, and weaponry combined with the element of complete surprise, and were the primary reasons for the phenomenal successes that day (2006), it should also be noted that there were key intelligence failures on the Belgian side that allowed this to happen. Had the machine gunners been able to shoot down even one or two gliders, the weakened force may not have been able to disable the guns quickly enough to save the bridges from destruction. Similarly, referring to the emplacement of countermeasures to prevent glider landings, McNab argues, had [the Belgian high command] been more energetically committed to maintaining the vigor of its defences, it might have prevented the fall of Eben Emael with nothing more than a few pieces of steel or wood (2013, p. 72). In both cases, overcoming intelligence deficiencies could have had a dramatic impact on the battle, which would have had far reaching implications for the long term success or failure for Germany in the opening stages of World War II. If Fort Eben Emael had been able to hold on long enough to destroy the bridges and for allied reinforcements to arrive, it is possible that Germany s westward advance could have been halted by Fort Eben Emael and the Maginot Line and the Second World War might have been prevented, or at least contained. Conclusion The Battle of Fort Eben Emael saw the world s first glider borne assault as well as the first combat use of hollow charge explosives. • 54. Analysis Of Matthew 22 s The Kingdom Of Heaven Why do you suppose Jesus mentions what this man was wearing? Listen to me, everything that Jesus says and does in the New Testament is very important!
