This document discusses how technology can help change educational paradigms. It explores how paradigms have shifted over time from ages of hunting to ages of information. A paradigm shift can result from new knowledge, concepts, or major technological/social changes. Constructivism and constructionism focus on how children learn through their own experiences and creative activities. Research on the Scratch software found it engages students in authentic challenges and supports learning by creating rather than just listening. The conclusion states traditional education does not meet changing needs, so paradigms must shift through innovative teaching methods and use of technology to develop collaborative, self-directed, lifelong learning.
1. How can technology help
change the educational
paradigm?

Intro to learning design & Tec
2. In the definition of paradigm, it is the same patterns that primary
frameworks that have been set in the past and have reached us now.
When paradigms are changing in society , the world view that previously
prevailed in that domain will be changed and a new worldview is replaced
• Humans have experienced the age of hunting, the age of
agriculture, the age of craftsmanship, and now we are living in the
age of information. It is obvious that in the long term of time
paradigms have been changed.
• A paradigm shift may be the result of new knowledge entering the
field through new evidence, new ways of conceptualizing or
thinking about a problem, or occurring because of fundamental
changes in society (for example, major technological inventions
such as the printing press in the 15th century). or computer
technology in the 20th century or major political-economic-social
changes such as the industrial and democratic revolutions of the
18th century) .
3. •Piaget’s Constructivism, Papert’s Constructionism:
I believe that our vision about children’s learning is rooted in our paradigms on what it means to be
knowledgeable, experienced, intelligent.
we use all those paradigms in our daily life as a teacher, parents or even in politic.
• In the article Piaget's Constructivism, Papert's Constructionism there is
discussed the difference between constructionism
and Papert’s Constructionism.
• Piaget pointed out to view and constructionism stages of development
in children's thinking and the fact that children have their own world
view, and this has caused their mental development and growth
without following the example of others.
• The theory describes "how children's ways of doing and thinking
evolve over time, and under which circumstance children are more
likely to let go of—or hold onto—their currently held views. "Page 1"
• In this regard, Papert focuses on the art of learning for the learner and
the importance of creativity and creation in children's learning. The role
of tools such as media and technology in the field of growth and
learning is important.
4. In the article Karen Brennan and Mitchell Resnick
pointed to how the online community supports
young people as media designers.
• Karen Brennan and Mitchel Resnick in their research refers
to the investigation of 20 groups of young girls in relation to
the way they use computers, and the noteworthy point is
that they did not have the opportunity to be involved in
designing or making or creating in the media.
• In this article, the ways using Scratch software in education
and its impact on learning has been investigated
• Scratch software is one of the tools that children through
use can create different concepts of things that they learn.
there are more than 100 programming that user can use
them for creativity.
• The design of software offers young people opportunities to
engage in authentic challenges (pg.256)
5. Resnick – in his research addressed to Learning from Scratch addressed to
following the previous paradigms in education. He said the teacher standing in
front of the class and the students being only listeners, is disappearing
because the needs of current students and learners are different from the past.
• I am a teacher in preschool, and I can see what role of
kindergarten in the process of creativity and activity of
children. kindergarten start to learn about sharing,
working together, respectively.
• Preparing the right equipment for students in schools or
university like children in kindergarten lets them learn from
each other and have their own experiences. As he
mentioned, the most important thing is, we need to shift
mindsets in the ways people think about learning and
technology.
6. conclusion
• The traditional education system does not have the ability and capabilities to respond to the needs of the changing society. It is inevitable to create change and to remove
the paradigms and patterns that slow down the growth process.
• Innovation in teaching methods and the use of information technology and communication in schools will develop the cooperative learning of students, strengthen the spirit
of searching and research, apply education, provide a context for education and lifelong learning.
• I think all those research show that we need to change the paradigms of education by technology because the requirements of students and even society in learning are
changing.
