There has been a hidden conflict of prejudice that occurs within a race that has recently became
common topic of everyday conversation. In 1982, Alice Walker, a well known author gave it a name;
colorism. Walker defined colorism in In search of Our Mother s Gardens as prejudicial or preferential
treatment of same race people based solely on their color . Colorism has been a significant factor in
the creation of self hatred between people of light and dark hue. Within this society, a dominant
ideology has been created which in turn causes the parts of the population with non dominant features

The major thesis of Worship is a Verb is that Biblical worship is a re enactment of Christ s life, death,
and resurrection. Therefore, this primary assertion must be true for the rest of the book to hold
together. Webber says that the content of Old Testament worship is determined by the
Exodus event, while the content of New Testament worship is determined by the Christ event
(2004, p. 28).
Webber then notes three parallels between the Exodus and the Christ event. He points that Christ

Many factors are given weight in the decision to allow a child to be adopted such as socio economic
status, marital status, age, health and the ability for a child to integrate in to the perspective parent s
life (The Free Dictionary, n.d.). Within the adoption process there are two primary types: closed
adoptions and open adoptions (Family Education, 2016). A closed adoption is where there is no
contact between the adopters and the birth parents putting the child up for adoption. Also known as a
confidential adoption it is performed through an intermediary who is responsible for all
communication such as an attorney (Family Education, 2016). There is also no contact between the
adopted child and his or her biological parents later in life without court intervention. The other
avenue of adoption perused more commonly now is an open adoption where the adopters and birth
parents are in full communication through out the process (Family Education, 2016). Adoption has
gone through an evolution where previously closed adoptions were heavily favored; open adoptions

have transformed the World Wide Web. Social media is defined as websites or applications that allow
online users to produce and share content. Of the 7.6 billion global population, 2.46 billion of them
actively use social media. Many use social networking to stay in contact with others and access
information more quickly. Although the proposed reasons for social media use appear positive, they
present many negatives. One should limit his or her social media use due to its damaging impact on
today s youth and spreading of false information. Social media has countless adverse impacts, but it is
primarily harmful on today s youth. Specifically, social networking has negative affects one s
education. Since the introduction of social media, students have scored lower on test. As a result,
students are left with a poor grade point average (GPA). According to Facebook and Academic
Performance, students who used social media maintained a 3.06 average GPA. In contrast, students
who did not use social media had a cumulative GPA of 3.82. The article also presents a study that
found that students who use social networking to study score 20 percent lower than those who do not.
In addition to inferior grade point averages and lower test grades, undergraduates who use social
