Statistics In Sociology
In this experiment, data was collected from 44 participants, which came from an undergraduate
statistics lab class at Florida Atlantic University, members of the Palm Beach Hindu Mandir,
and friends and relatives of the authors of this study. The sample was 30% male (N = 13) and
70% female (N = 31). Participants ranged in age from 15 to 61 with the average being 28 years
(M= 28.09, SD= 14.178). The participants all voluntarily filled out an online survey originally
sent out to the class. The authors both participated and gave their own survey responses. In order
to get a wider range of results, the survey was also sent to members of a church, and shared on
one of the author s personal social media page. Their responses were factored into... Show more

Anything over five was not considered for this study. This is because for the purposes of this
study, anything over five times a year is considered a significant amount of times to be ill. In
this experiment, the main goal is to find a possible correlation between whether a person makes
their bed daily or not and around how many times they are sick in a year. We hypothesize that
making one s bed daily promotes good health habits, therefore preventing one from being ill
frequently. Due to this, we predict that participants that reportedly make their beds daily will
also report fewer instances of being sick per year, with most responses estimated to land around
1 3 times per year. The main independent variable being studied is whether participants make
their bed daily, and the dependent variable would be how often they are sick in a year. There are
some other independent variables that could impact the relationship, such as gender and age,
because they too have an influence on the health of a person. Due to this, we asked participants to
report that information as well, so we can take it into account when running data tests and drawing
conclusions. Results Our independent variable for this study is whether participants make up their
beds every morning. The dependent variable for this study is how many times a year participants
get sick. Other independent variables recorded were gender and age. We ran a bivariate correlation

The Conduct of British Generals in World War One Essay
The Conduct of British Generals in World War One In 1914 the First World War, or the Great
War, broke out in Europe. It involved the two main alliances of Europe at the time; one alliance
was the triple entente with Germany, Austro Hungary and Serbia, the other alliance, the triple
alliances, had Britain, France and Russia creating a ring of steel around Germany. This war of
attrition was to take the lives of 8.5 million combatants and would change the way warfare was
conducted and portrayed forever, it would involve 65 million men from 30 countries around the
globe and Russia and America would emerge as the two great superpowers of the 20th century.
After the war there would be great criticism of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the battle of Verdun British artillery started to fire upon British infantry during an attack
causing heavy casualties. These were all seen as foolish acts and it was shown, and still is
shown, in various pieces of literature. In source C it shows the enormity of the killing at the
Somme and the differences in losses between the two sides. It was written by John keegan, who
is a qualified historian and there shouldn t be any reason for bias on his part and in this source he
does contain many facts to support his views so it is quite a reliable source. On the other hand the
generals could not have been tactically inept and blind to the minimal gains that some attacks were
having because as the war progressed new tactics and innovative ways of attacking were brought to
the front line and used with great effect. Ideas like the rolling barrage where men would creep
behind shells that were continually firing while inching forward, another idea was night attacks
where men would attack enemy positions

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Market Based Optimal Power...
Optimal power flow is defined as fulfilling the power requirements of consumer s with least outlay
of power generation. OPF is a functional unit that reduces the production expenditure, bus voltage
divergences and losses which enhances the structure functionality by fulfilling some restraints. The
nature of some of the variables follows continuity with real output of power and voltage and few
other variables in OPF is discrete with phase shifters, reactive injections and tap settings in
transformers which is considered to be major problem. OPF problem was resolved by several
traditional optimization techniques.
Market based optimal power flow
In this a power pool model is developed which includes the one sided auction market in OPF. A
hourly price bid is represented in the form of marginal cost by each market participant. Locational
Marginal Price (LMP) is used to minimise Hourly Social Cost (HSC) was minimised by the bids
which are taken as inputs to the OPF. A bilateral contract between the windsupplier and storage
owner is used to purchase the curtailed wind power. By using the generation bids HSC function is
formulated. The main objective of market based optimal power flow is as follows ... Show more

A sequential search starts with the first number and goes in order to the last number. It will take
until the element number 12 find match
A binary search is always used on the sorted array.
State the runtime for each of the searches, in this example, and for general data sets of size n.
Address the issue of the order of the data in binary searching.
* The runtime for the sequential search is N.
* The runtime for the binary search isn t found
Suppose an algorithm that processes a data set of size 8 has a runtime of 72. The same algorithm
has a runtime of 110 when applied to a data set of size 10; and when applied to a data set of size 20,
it has a runtime of 420. Using big O notation, state the runtime for this algorithm for the general
case of a data set of size n. O(n2 + n)
Suppose you develop an algorithm that processes the first element of an array (length of n), then
processes the first 2 elements, then the first 3 elements, and so on, until the last iteration of a
loop, when it processes all elements. Thus, if n = 4, the runtime would be 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10.
Create a table that depicts the runtime for arrays of length 1 to 10. Would you expect the general
runtime to be O(n), O(n2), O(n3), or some other function of n? Explain.

William Shakespeare s Beowulf Essay
Tuttle 1
Beowulf Unfit to be King of the Geats For 1000 years we have been reading of the adventures of
Beowulf, and his story was told for hundreds of years before. The tale is full of trials,
tribulations, adventure, great loss, great victory, and wonderful battles. But, what do we make of
it? Is it a tale told to illustrate the virtues of the epic hero himself, or is it a cautionary tale, told to
warn the readers of the dangers of allowing unqualified men (or women) to ascend to a position of
leadership and the inevitable results of such an event?
The author of Beowulf takes great care to describe the hero in detail, and we, as readers, learn about
his abundant courage and strength. We are taken on a tour through his early struggles, his successes
against the great monster Grendel and Grendel s mother, and his ultimate demise during his battle
with a dragon. But one needs to analyze the unstated theme in order to fully appreciate the effect
that Beowulf has had on readers for generations. Stanley Greenfield, in his article Beowulf and
Epic Tragedy writes that, in the end, For all of Beowulf s efforts, he is reaped only with useless
gold, for a nation soon to perish (104). This is representative of the core issue at hand in this epic.
Beowulf is unfit to be a great king, despite his physical prowess. Because of his early and
continuing history of foolishly taking unnecessary risks, his excessive pride and lack of humility,
the diminishing quality of his personal

Water Quality And Water Pollution
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background information
Water is an essential resource for life which greatly influences our public and environmental health
as well as providing the pedestal for most of our economic activities. Unsustainable use of fresh
water resources, population increase, and the trend in industrial revolution have led to
environmental degradation especially by the release of partially treated or untreated wastewater into
aquatic systems. Thus, the global freshwater resource is at risk and majority of the problems that
humanity faces in the twenty first century are related to water quantity and/or water quality issues
(UNESCO, 2009).
The importance of water for sustenance of life cannot be overemphasized and its depletion of either
through contamination, or careless use results in serious consequences (Owa, 2013). About 70 % of
the earth is covered with water, but hardly 2 % of it is quality for drinking (Mann et al., 2014). The
relative importance of water quality versus water quantity, sanitation and hygiene education
interventions for protecting the population s health has been the subject of considerable debate
(Esrey et al, 1985, 1991). Nevertheless, there is broad agreement that good water quality, free of
pathogens and heavy metals is important to human health.
Water is regarded polluted if some components or condition is existing to such a magnitude that the
water cannot be used for a particular purpose. Water pollutionaffects flora and organisms

Mr. Friehling – a Future Auditing Case Study
David Friehling will quite possibly be a future case study in auditing textbooks and courses
throughout the United States. Mr. Friehling was the auditor for Bernard Madoff, who was recently
convicted of running the largest Ponzi scheme ever uncovered through his business, Bernard L.
Madoff Investment Securities, LLC (BMIS). Mr. Madoff claimed to actively oversee more than
$65 billion in private investments (it was later revealed that roughly $823 million remained of the
more than $170 billion that went through his accounts over the years).(1) Mr. Friehling flagrantly
and purposely violated provisions of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Code of
Professional Conduct,(2) Generally Accepted Auditing Standards,(3)... Show more content on

None of this occurred. The final section, Standards of Reporting, requires the auditor to state when
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles have not been consistently observed. This also did not
occur.
The SEC probed Mr. Madoff s business on numerous occasions for sixteen years. Despite many
blatant warning signs, not once was there an investigation that uncovered the fraudulent auditing
being performed. Regarding the SEC, Madoff was quoted in a jailhouse interview as saying that it
never entered the SEC s mind that it was a Ponzi scheme, and also that he had too much credibility
with them and they dismissed the idea of a Ponzi scheme.(7)
The SEC contends that from 1991 through 2008 Mr. Friehling violated several different sections of
the Securities Act, Exchange Act, and Advisors Act. The SEC alleges Friehling was not aware of
the Ponzi scheme, but that he committed securities fraud by falsely representing he had performed
legitimate audits, falsely stating the audits were conducted in accordance with GAAS, falsely
stating that the financial statements were prepared under GAAP, and knowing that the auditreports
were distributed to customers.(8) The charges also include aiding and abetting investment adviser
fraud and filing false audit reports to the SEC. Mr. Friehling faces 105 years in prison if convicted
of all charges.
The PCAOB, created under the Sarbanes Oxley Act to help prevent fraud, did not require CPA

Thank you mateys for the ship. Crash! The mysterious man clasped to the floor as Demetri, my
older friend that has accompanied me and my crew as a doctor, hits the man in the back of the

Jack. I turned away from the tiller to look at Demetri.
Alberto s died. Demetri nods his head and I lift the tiller up locking it in place and stepped away
from it.
Did the drink poison him?
I m not sure. We stand in silence letting it sink in. If the other guy was able to drink it and survive
then it must have been something else that killed him.
The other man should know. Demetri looked at me shocked.
Why ask him? He could lie?
Yea but it s worth a try. I walked down to the brig. The man was laying flat down in one of the ship
s cell below deck.
What do you want you blaggard? I walked up to the cell but didn t go in.
You said earlier that the drink was poisonous to me, what do you mean by that?
The man sighed.
Why should I tell a lubber something like that.
Because I saved you from that ship.

Personally, I believe I usually settle between the authoritative and pacesetting management
styles. I have high standards, but I am open to letting others find better way to complete a task. If
they fail, I will take over and do the task myself, or let someone I find more knowledgable do it. I
usually work by persuasion, and always provide feedback when I feel something could improve or
if there is an easier way to complete a task.
Second, I will be discussing interviews. Interviews are stressful, nerve wracking and brutal. Not

want to move up and work more on an upper management level. I would love to work in executive
management. Hopefully, over the years I will develop the skills needed for that type of position.
Next, I will cover arts advocacy and the government. It was extremely exciting to be part of such
a powerful organization that advocates for the arts. New Jersey has one of the strongest arts
advocacy organizations out of all the states. ArtPride NJ is super involved with policy, education,
and leadership. It is especially important for them to exist in our current political climate. The
National Endowment for the Arts is in trouble right now of being completely depleted of all its
funding and power. In summary, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) was enacted by
Lyndon B. Johnson and congress as an independent federal agency. It supports and funds equal
access to the arts in the United States. The National Endowment for the Arts was created in 1965 as
a way for The United States to invest in culture.
It is important to me to be part of the discussion of public arts funding and advocacy. It is
extremely clear, that public support of the arts

The Internship Reflection
Storyline summary
The Internship is a film in which two middle aged salesmen, Billy McMahon (Vince Vaughn) and
Nick Campbell (Owen Wilson) find that their careers have become redundant due to the increasing
growth and development of modern technology, in which they are not well versed.
Billy McMahon and Nick Campbell now face unemployment and have no desirable directions to
venture towards. It is in the time of this crisis that Billy McMahon shows his resilience to surrender
as he spots the opportunity of a Google internship.
Their unorthodox interview responses and persuasive salesmen nature causes the Google
management to be intrigued enough to accept them into the intern program in spite of their clear
lack of the necessary expertise.

emotional reactions from Billy, Nick and their employer allowed for the conflict to fester. The
former employer neglected to manage this dysfunctional conflict and thus neither of the conflicted
parties benefitted. Very definitely, the dysfunctional nature of the conflict and an absence of the
necessary conflict management allowed for both parties to leave

was to fulfill the campaign deliver the leads to meet the expectations set at the point of sale. We
tracked this as the % of Advertiser accounts that are on target for lead delivery, Traffic

with minimizing TACs. Traditionally, most SEM products focus on only Google SEM spend.
To deliver on the KPIs, initially, I proposed the idea of procuring leads from several Ad Sources.
YP has several sources of leads from both external sources like Google/Yahoo/Bing/Facebook

Overview of Labor Relations
LABOR RELATIONS 2
Labor Relations
Introduction
Labor relations are concerned with the learning and management practices of unionized situations
of employment. However, in the circles of academia, labor relations get classified as a subarea of
industrial relations, even though researchers from numerous disciplines also study labor
movements and labor unions. Nevertheless, in practice, labor relations get classified as a subarea in
the management of human resource. Therefore, the courses in labor relations characteristically look
into the history of labor, labor regulation, and organization of union, bargaining, administration of
contract, as well as, any contemporary topics that are significant. In the U.S., the labor relations of
the private sector get regulated through the Act of the National Labor Relations. On the other hand,
the labor relations of the public sector gets regulated through the Act of the Civil Service Reform
that was introduced in the year 1978, along with the appliance of a series of state pieces of
legislation (Fossum, 2012). A look into other countries, the labor relations, could be standardized
through tradition or law. The association of Labor and Employment Relations is a significant
professional organization for the labor relations intellectuals, as well as, practitioners in the U.S.
The employment, economy, as well as, management of rights are some of the topics for thought
when the discussion involves the manner in which labor unions bring

Genetic Engineering Persuasive Essay
Science has enabled humanity to thrive in a world where change is a prerequisite that must be
achieved if an organism aspires to live. It allowed for the human race to bend and twist to
accommodate to our needs. Death s touch became a mere gesture we can avoid most of the time.
Although we stand at the forefront of human advancement, we are still held back. Genetic
engineering, the direct modification of DNA, is the solution to the problems we continuously
encounter today. Particularly, it would benefit areas such as food production, elimination of
disease and disorders, and the fate of mankind itself. To begin with, food production has been a
disputable matter for years because of the way it is being grown. For instance, crops are sprayed
with pesticide... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to the fact that most incurable diseases/disorders are caused by the genes of a person, DNA
modification can be used to create the best set of genes necessary to fend off any type of
disease. Eventually if this type of genetic engineering is used on most of the world population,
diseases such as cancer, Ebola, AIDS, and polio would completely disappear. Disorders like
schizophrenia, diabetes, and asthma could also be wiped out of the gene pool altogether. Thus,
the health of the future generations to come would be exceedingly enhanced. Besides becoming
immune to illness, genetic engineering can change the course of human fate. The average
lifespan of a person is around 70 years, but this can be extended by more years with genetic
engineering. It doesn t have to stop there. Not only would the life of a single person be longer, but
they would be able to keep their youth for much longer. While the idea of a 60 year old woman
who still retains her youthful appearance seems entertaining, it is highly plausible for a future with

The novel Looking for Alibrandi by Melina Marchetta is a perfect representation of how our family
and culture play an integral part in our journey to discover who we are and what our purpose in
this life is. Seventeen year old Josephine Alibrandi is on a journey to discover who she is and
how her past and present somehow intertwine. Coming from a traditional Italian background,
Josie tries to escape her culture and avoid her family in the process. She desperately wants to
become emancipated and break free from the things and people she believes are holding her back.
Due to this perception, she is holding herself back and restricting her mental and emotional
development. Towards the end of the novel, Josie realises that her family and culture is a huge
part of her and if she lets that go, she is saying goodbye to herself; her identity.
To conclude, we must all cherish our family because no matter how bad or good a situation may

young, old, Hispanics, and many gays eat and work at Our Way CafГ©. These gays are open to

The fiscal, technological, and corporate developments lead to the further development of this
tolerant, liberal, and educated group. Those who attend Oakhurst Baptist Church would most
closely identify with this group. There are social problems, though, that are underlying this roaring
boom in the city (Hunter 20). Population increase left many families struggling for living
accommodations. Technological employment leapt, but unemployment for the unskilled and young
rose, particularly among blacks. This presents an uncited and under discussed problem in the
community, (Hunter 12). Many blacks became a group left behind during the modernization and
Manhattanization of Atlanta in that they fill the service economy . Globalization has also eroded
numerous Southern traditions and ways of life; Southern Baptists are amongst those that resent this
change. The majority of Southern Baptists took the globalization of Atlanta in the opposite fashion
as the tolerant suburbanites and became protective of their conservative beliefs and churches.

Oil Sands Essay
Canada has always had extensive deposits of oil sands, and has been a fascination to the
explorers and settlers of earliest Canada, when Europeans saw how First Nations people used it
to water proof their birch bark canoes. That being said, the majority of oil sands in Canada are
contained in Alberta. Alberta s oil reserves play an important role in the Canadian and global
economy, supplying stable, reliable energy to the world. Alberta s oil sands have been described
by Time Magazine as Canada s greatest buried energy treasure. (Alberta) Oil sand is a naturally
occurring mixture of sand, clay or other minerals, water and bitumen, which is a heavy and
extremely viscous oil that must be treated before it can be used by refineries to... Show more content

The process of making synthetic crude oil requires an enormous amount of water, especially in
the separation process. Each barrel of oil requires two tons of oil sands and up to five barrels of
hot water. Water is also needed along with electricity to convert it steam. The steam is pushed by
steam injections making bitumen less viscous. It is quite evident that oil sands are not practical
in terms of its process. Also three quarters of the bitumen can be recovered from the sands,
leaving behind 25% as waste. With the technology in our present society, oil sands are not
entirely practical in terms of efficiency; however, in the future, this may change. To reflect, there
are many disadvantages associated with oil sands, especially in the way it is processed. As the
issue of global warming becomes more prevalent, we must evaluate choices that are green or do
not impact our environment in a negative way. Thus, the impacts of oil sands as an energy
resource on the environment will be discussed. The Canadian and Global environment take the
hardest hits from the tar sands. Depleting and contaminating water, air pollution, processed lands
and tailing ponds are left barren with their geology disrupted, and take years to generate new life.
Wildlife patterns and populations are disturbed, and greenhouse gases are emitted at an incredible

What Is Free Will In The Odyssey
Bayley Neville

English 235
October 5, 2015
Free Will or Fate? How does Odysseus decline Circe s offer to become immortal? How does Don
Quixote become a knight? Was it free will or fate? Some may say that the Odyssey is completely
fate based and Don Quixote is entirely based on free will, but the two hold more similarities than
you may realize. Homer, the writer of The Odyssey, focuses mainly on the god s influence of
Odysseus s travels home. Miguel De Cervantes, writer of Don Quixote, uses Quixote s imagination
and decisions to motivate travel. Although they bear some minor similarities, the differences
between The Odyssey and Don Quixote are pronounced. Before discussing the similarities I
would like to go over the differences between the two. In the Odyssey, the gods are responsible
for controlling almost the entire story. They are the reason he gets captured and held for eight
years. They are the cause of the storm that nearly drags Odysseus out to sea. They play a very
important role in this poem. Don Quixote is written much differently than The Odyssey. Don
Quixote has much more freedom to choose what happens in his life. He decides to become a
knight and travel all over. He set off on a journey to help other and to earn his knighthood. He
does this at his own free will, something that Odysseus did not have. Odysseus did not decide to
get held for eight years and then suddenly be released to journey home. This proves that The
Odyssey and Don Quixote are

Much is mentioned about Ethiopia in the bible and as more slaves started to read about it soon

These revelations about Ethiopia came at a time when majority of African people, inside and

Health Care And International Relations
Quebec historically has had a different perspective about social policy such as health care and
international relations. The different goals are a result of different origins and different needs from
international relations. This historical distinction is one of many which keeps Quebec distinct to
this very day from the rest of Canada.
There has been many different kinds of health care in Canada. Quebec s health care was a system
operated by the church. The government of Lower Canada operated separately to this as people of
Quebec preferred church run healthcare. This role was further solidified as a church operation
when Confederation gave jurisdiction over health care to the provinces. This is evident of the fact
that there were differences in health care policies before 1867.
In the 20th century there was many different attempts at ridding Quebec of its distinct health care
structure that further highlighted the differences. In 1940 for example there was a commission
interested in stating federal spending powers and how they could centralise health care. This
suggestion was not taken well by the government of Quebec or the church. Furthermore, the
Hospital and Diagnostic Services Act 1957 was another attempt at creating symmetry amongst the
provinces. The federal government created conditions for the provinces to adhere to if they wanted
money. This was widely accepted in other provinces but Quebec withheld from this. Duplessis and
the UN s rejection of this state

Fate Of William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Fate in Romeo and Juliet In modern times, and in the Elizabethan era, fate plays an important
role in people s lives. Many people believe it to be written in stone, and unchangeable. Many
others believe it to be controlled by a person s own actions. In Romeo and Juliet, fate is one of
the main themes, described as having power over many of the events in the play. Fate is often
called upon, wondered about, and blamed for mishaps. However, where fate is blamed in the
play as the ultimate cause for a mishap, there is always an underlying action, or combination of
them, on the part of human beings that decides the consequences. Human weakness, the loss of
self control, is always the direct cause of a bad choice or mishap, and not fate itself. One of the
most noted instances where fate is blamed for a mishap is when Romeo cries out the he
supposedly is fortune s fool. He claims that fate has brought on Mercutio s death, and has lead
him to kill Tybalt in revenge. In Act 3, Scene 1 of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is seen to be upset
at Mercutio s death and predicts that the days black fate on more days doth depend. (III, I, 118)
Tybalt then re enters and Romeo becomes more upset that Tybalt is triumphant with Mercutio
being dead (III, I, 121). As Romeo becomes overwhelmed with Mercutio s death and Tybalt s joy
over it, he suddenly declares that either he or Tybalt must die with Mercutio (III, I, 128).

The Objectivity Of Science And Science
The objectivity of science would be contingent on our trust in the scientists who are feeding us
knowledge. We often believe these scientists, but is there actually a reason for us to trust what they
are passing on to us? What would science be if they had not been telling the truth? There is no
denying the existence of public trust in the words of scientists, but it should be noted that
everything that we understand as scientific fact today would be in question if we lost trust in our
scientists. Teachers of science, doers of science, and scientific writers are most definitely the source
of the majority of our scientific knowledge. We have to trust these people though because if we do
not trust them, who do we trust?
The main point I am ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And if so, is being virtuous and moral enough of a reason for us to confirm our trust in the
reliability and authority of science? Could it not be the case that scientists are seen as ordinary
people possessing extraordinary knowledge as a result of their job title or description? The fact
that we have this widespread trust of science proves that we must believe to have an understanding
of what scientists are like.
There has been a long going development of a public image of scientists, one that has recently
begun to change. Due to factors such as the internet and the media, science is something that is able
to been seen and looked into simultaneously by numerous people. When a scientist intentionally
fudges their data, it is not small news. Problems of this sort have birthed various concerns about
science, and about science s authority and reliability in specific. This speculation of dishonest
scientists not only will effect the reliability of science in the eyes of the public, but also the realm
in which scientists are producing truly credible knowledge. Our technical knowledge is only as
secure as the moral economy in which it is produced (Shapin, ?). As of now, the way in which
scientists come to agree or settle disputes, is an issue that we cannot fully grasp.
This skepticism of scientific objectivity appears to be the cause of a number of our fundamental
contemporary dilemmas regarding the morality and authority of science. As long as scientists

Pascal, and C++ Object.
The Smalltalk language:
Smalltalk was developed at Xerox PARC by Alan Kay and others in the 1970s. The term object
oriented programming was introduced to represent the extensive use of objects and messages as
the basis for computation. The ideas of Simula 67 have influenced the creators of Smalltalk.
However, Smalltalk was designed to be more dynamic system in which classes could be created
dynamically rather than static classes like in Simula 67. In August 1981, Byte Magazine has
introduced object based techniques via the Lisp machine to the developers. Integration of functional
programming and Object oriented programming via Meta object protocol were results of
experimentation on extensions to Lisp. Attempts were made design processor architectures that
included hardware support for objects in memory which was unsuccessful. A purely object
oriented language by name Eiffel was first designed by Bertrand Meyer in the year 1985. Eiffel is
not only a programming language but also supports entire software lifecycle. The concepts of Eiffel
were explained by Meyer based on key ideas in computer science, software engineering and Object
Oriented Software Construction. In early and mid1990s, object oriented programming was
developed as the dominant programming methodology. During this period, when

Achilles And Hektor In The Iliad
In the classic book, The Iliad by Homer, a war has started. The book is set in the period of the
Trojan War where the Achaeans are fighting with the Trojans. Both sides have powerful armies
and great leaders but each side has a unique leader that sets them apart. The Trojans great warrior
is Hektor, he is arrogant and very prideful. The Achaeans powerful warrior is Achilles, he also is
very prideful and arrogant. The two warriors are very similar and very different at the same time.
Hektor in the war is motivated by a sense of responsibility for the city of Troy and his family. This
responsibility is particularly strong because his parents are Priam, the king, and Hecuba, the queen.
Another motivation is the he dearly loves his wife, Andromache, and his son, Astyanax.... Show

For example, he criticizes his mother for trying to persuade him to relax and enjoy a glass of wine
when really he should be on the battlefield. However, Hektor still has a mind of a warrior and he
has a warriors weakness of pride. In the Iliad, the Trojans were at a period camped on the plain of
Troy, despite Poulydamas s advice to draw the camp back to the Trojan walls so that they are not
vulnerable to a counterattack. On the other hand, Achilles is the son of a sea goddess, Thetis,
and of a mortal, Peleus. Achilles is extremely prideful and is very emotional. In the beginning of
the book Achilles demonstrates this anger when he almost killed Agamemnon if it wasn t for
Athena. In result he asked for Zeus to help the Trojans in turn kill many of his own warriors. The
fact that he doesn t mind the death of his allies as long as his ego maintains sets him apart from
Hektor. Another personality that is very emphasized is that he is very emotional. When Patroklos
is killed, that is when Achilles shows the emotion of anger clearly. He swears that he will get
revenge even if he ends up

Why Should Schools Go To Year Round School
Year round Schooling
Schools around the U.S. are switching to a calendar called year round school. Kids in year round
schools go to school from six to nine weeks without breaks and a two to four week break. There has
been a debate on whether Florida should go to year round or not. Florida should go to year round
school because there is less teacher and student burnout, and teachers would have to spend less
time reviewing material that would be lost over summer break. Regular schools give teachers an
advantage because it allows teachers more time to prepare for the next school year and finalize
grades, but Florida should go to year round school because the benefits outweigh the disadvantages.
Firstly, year round schools decrease student ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, finalizing grades and preparing the classroom is generally easy with the correct time
frame. With year round school, those tasks might have to be performed within one to two days.
According to text 2 from National Education Association, it states, When teachers begin a new
school year, they usually have the time to attend staff meetings, tidy up their classrooms, and to
prepare for incoming students. Those who teach at year round schools, where the school year
begins a week after the previous year ended, find themselves in a different situation. Finalizing
grades and report cards may take place while school is still in session, leaving teachers with a
little over a day to prepare for the upcoming school year, only a week away. This means that
teachers teaching at year round schools are at a disadvantage because they have less time to
prepare for the following school year than the regular schooled teachers do. In conclusion, Florida
should switch to year round schooling. Florida should switch to year round schooling because
students and teachers experience less burnout, and teachers don t have to review as much because
students don t lose as much knowledge as they do over summer. While regular schools give
teachers an advantage over preparing for the next year, Florida should switch to year round
schooling because there are more advantages than disadvantages. Florida would benefit from the
year round schooling, and the benefits of it would improve the overall education level in this

Thematic Patterns In Hamlet
Thematic Patterns
(An Analysis of the Themes in Shakespeare s Hamlet Acts 1, 2, and 3) More often than not,
excellent authors incorporate subtle themes into their story lines. These themes can seems
nonexistent towards the beginning of a plot, but after careful study and examination of the
literature, a reader can find that there are in fact many main themes that are being revisited
throughout the work. These themes usually have multiple meanings and can add essential details to
deepen the meaning of the plot in its entirety. As a system in the textual metafunction of language,
the Theme/Rheme options play a significant role in the creation of texture and structure which
make spoken and written texts comprehendible to listeners and readers. Thematic organization

Ontology, says tradition, is the science of being as such (Inwagen). In other words, ontology is
the study of one s being, or who or what you are. Bernardo boldly questions Francisco by saying,
Who s there? (Shakespeare). Francisco rebukes him by exclaiming, Nay, answer me. Stand and
unfold yourself. (Shakespeare). With these first two lines of the entire play, the reader can already
infer that this is going to be about identification. Who people say they are versus who they actually
are is a monumental argument in this drama. Claudius, the new king of Denmark, cleverly lies to
everyone about his true being: a murderer. Another example is Hamlet. Hamlet acts as if he is
going insane for a majority of the play. However, he is very much in control of his wits and is
just pretending to be crazy in order to get what he wants. Event unfold as the play progresses and
people continue to lie and deceive others with false information about themselves. Ontology is a
key factor in the set up of events that

U.S Slavery History and North Korean Life
Slavery was, and is, the mistreatment of people as property. Slavery in British colonies dates all
the way back to 1619 when African Americans first arrived in Jamestown, Virginia. As soon as
the African Americans arrived they were no longer considered to be human . Slaves were
property; therefore they could be traded and sold. Slaves were cruelly whipped if they did
something their master did not approve of. Some slave owners were so violent that they whipped
their slaves until they bled and then they would rub salt into the wounds. Morosely, slaves were so
horribly mistreated, some chose to take their own lives over continuing to be a slave. In 1863,
Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation which ended slaveryonce and... Show

This network of helping hands aided in hundreds of slaves escaping to freedom each year.
Escaping to The North was extremely hard. Many houses were 10 to 20 miles apart, which meant
slaves had to move fast! Harriet Tubman helped 300 slaves achieve freedom within 19 trips. North
Korea also has a very helpful underground railroad. The North Korean Underground Railroad is a
horrendous path across China that leads to South Korea. It is a treacherous path because China sends
about 200 North Korean refugees back to North Korea each day. As soon as North Koreans are
sent back, they either end up in jail, in a prison camp or are killed. Similar to white people
helping African American slaves escape to freedom, many Chinese and South Korean people try
and help North Koreans escape as well. China does not want refugees to live in their country.
Surprisingly, 300 thousand North Korean refugees live in China because they managed to
escape. Along the dangerous journey through China, there are houses and helpers for those
escaping North Korea. It is a shame that some people and countries are afraid to help North
Koreans because of all the powerful weapons that North Korea has acquired. In conclusion,
underground railroads have helped, and still are, helping many individuals and families have a
better life. Thankfully, as soon as slaves reached Canada, or any free Northern U.S state, they were
completely free. A few slaves feared that their owner was

Examples Of Perseverance In The Call Of The Wild
Perseverance is the will to keep fighting and give it your all even through the most difficult
circumstances. In Jack London s book, The Call Of The Wild, the main character learns to keep
going even when the going gets tough. One of the main themes of this book was to keep going
and never lose hope. Buck, the main character, is a dogwho is part St. Bernard and part Scotch
Shepherd dog. He is brought into an adventure which little does he know, will seem to never end
and as he goes through this adventure, there will be a multitude of challenges ahead including
starvation, exhaustion, and the freezing temperatures.
Part of perseverance is staying alive. Survival of the fittest is the best example of this because
when Buck gets kidnapped from his easy life at the estate and then thrown into different
environments and situations like becoming part of a dogsled group, he adapts and survives.
When Buck first started out, he was just another dog who was near the top of the pack, but was
not at the top. A dog named Spitz was at the top, always had been, and it seemed as if he always
would be. Spitz despised Buck and vise versa. They did not get along and disagreed on almost
everything. One day; however, Buck and Spitz got into a fight like any other dog. The stakes at
which dogs fought were that winner gets to stay alive and the loser dies, ... Show more content on

Buck experiences all that nature has to offer when he starves, freezes, and gets exhausted from all
of his sledding. Buck continually struggles, yet he finds ways to turn his struggles into successes
like when it was said that Buck was inexorable , and learns along the way how to survive (London
24). He takes everything a day at a time and makes the best with what he is given or not given. This
man nature relationship is not all negative though because the nature shapes Buck and other
animals into becoming stronger and more athletic which then transcends to their

Regulating Genetic Engineering
Genetic engineering is the scientific process of adding or removing certain genetic material
from an embryo so it will develop specific characteristics (Silver 129). Genetic modification
allows for the prevention of genetic disorders as well as the development of better
pharmaceutical drugs that can give people longer and healthier lives. Despite these positive uses
of genetic modification many people are wary of its practicality and ethics. However, the present
genetic engineering has not advanced enough to be feasible on human embryos and has only been
used on various crops and animals. As science continues to move forward and new developments
arise in the field of cloning, genetic engineering can soon become a reality. The future use of...

Genetic modification is vital in the advancing human medicine and can combat consequences that
could arise as a result of the manipulation through researched treatments. If put into practice genetic

discoveries that could transform life on Earth and lead humanity into a more enlightened time. This
is why it is critical to keep supporting the genetic engineering field and to leave the stigma behind

Why We Should Stay Trim And Fit
Do you want to stay trim and fit, but also really enjoy dining out? Or, does your work or travel
schedule leave you eating in restaurants multiple times per week? If so, you re not alone. Nearly
60% of North Americans report eating out at least once per week. I believe that the whole point
of being healthy is to enjoy your life more, thus it makes no sense to stop doing the things you
enjoy in order to be healthy. The good news is that, with a bit of planning and a bit of know how,
you can stick to a healthy eatingroutine and still enjoy meals out.
Your plan of attack will depend on a few different factors:
1. Why are you out to eat? Are you there because you re on a work trip and you just need to eat, or
are you out to enjoy time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With that being said, having a few strategies can help, and I m here to help!
Before you go out:
1. Eat a small snack prior to going out, or at least ensure that you are not ravenous. If you are too
hungry, especially to the point of feeling irritable, your desire to eat anything and everything can
easily override your desire to choose a healthy option.
2. Decide ahead of time. If you are able to, research the menu online to see what the restaurant
offers. It s easier to stick to a plan that you made ahead of time rather than to try to decide on the
fly. If your plan is to indulge in whatever you want; then go for it; but decide ahead of time.
3.Change your mindset. Remind yourself that you re there to enjoy time with your friends or
spouse, and that you happen to be eating food. Enjoy your food, but remember that it s just food.
At the restaurant:
1. Start with water. Cold water, hot water, lemon water, soda water there s so many choices! If you
choose to order a drink, enjoy something on the lighter fare such as a glass of wine, or alcohol
mixed with soda water. Fancy drinks such as margaritas and long island ice teas can pack upwards
of 600 calories per glass.
2. Skip the appetizers. Appetizer is not synonymous with lower calorie. In fact, many appetizers

Primacy Of Sports
The idea of collegiate and professional sports in the American society is very prominent and a
baseline for the American nation. Being a sports fan is a full time job for a majority of the
American populous, and has become common to create an identity for so many across the nation.
Sports surround the American citizens and influence many decisions made by individuals daily.
They coincide with American history and have been around since the beginning of time. Baseball
is known as America s pastime because of the significant events that have aided in its history as

In a post in the Huffington Post states, Much of the inordinate primacy of sport is based on a
pervasive, anecdotal, understanding (at least amongst those in power) that sport is always and
necessarily a powerful teacher of valuable, positive tangential lessons ( respect, teamwork,
motivation, etc.) (Quora). Athletes act as teachers to the youth, and teach lessons that can not be
easily taught in the household. Getting experience is exactly what these events provide, and is
exactly what minorities need in today s society. Teaching the children at a young age how to be
leaders and work as a team, will guarantee a bright future for the nation as well as create many
great adults for the future. New York Times states, For the past 75 years, parents have enrolled their
children in local Little League programs. Of the millions of children who wear the Little League
uniform patch, very few actually enter into Little League competition, one of our nine World Series
tournaments. But the lessons young players gain between the foul lines have guided some to
become astronauts, emergency first responders, bestselling authors, military heroes, professional
athletes and even president of the United States (The New). Sports are held to such a high standard
and are such a huge deal in the US because these things are noticed. The United States is seen as a
powerful nation because of the individuals that lead our country. These individuals learned the
same qualities that are being taught through sporting events and recreational activities. This article
states Participation in competitive youth sports spills over to occupationally advantageous traits
that persist across a person s life, Kniffin, postdoctoral research associate at Cornell s Dyson
School of Applied Economics and Management and lead researcher, said. It is proven that high

Character Analysis Of Napolewell And The Animal Farm
Mr. Jones
Mr. Jones was the original owner of the farm whose rule ended when the animals rebelled. His
character symbolizes that of the ruler of Russia prior to the revolution, Tsar Nicholas II, who
resigned from the throne due to unrest in the people. Prior to the animal rebellion, Jones had lost
money due to a lawsuit and his farm suffered, his men were idle and dishonest, the fields were full
of weeds...and the animals were underfed (38). This was the breaking point that finally led the
animals to rebel. Correspondingly, the immediate cause towards Nicholas II s abdication were food
shortages (the driving force of the February Revolution). Napoleon
After Jones was out of the way, Snowball and Napoleon became the two disagreeing leaders.
Napoleon represents Joseph Stalin, although he wasn t the immediate next leader of Russia after
Tsar Nicholas II was overthrown. Just as how Napoleon executed animals who were a threat and
the air was heavy with the smell of blood, which had been unknown since the expulsion of Mr.
Jones (Nicholas II was given the name Nicholas the Bloody), Joseph Stalin had his reign of terror
called the Great Purge (93) where he executed many of his own people whom he believed were
against him. Another striking similarity was when Napoleon agreed to cooperate with Frederick,
selling him the pile of timber, and assured the animals that the stories of an impending attack on
Animal Farm were completely untrue (105). However, Frederick did eventually

  • 2. Statistics In Sociology In this experiment, data was collected from 44 participants, which came from an undergraduate statistics lab class at Florida Atlantic University, members of the Palm Beach Hindu Mandir, and friends and relatives of the authors of this study. The sample was 30% male (N = 13) and 70% female (N = 31). Participants ranged in age from 15 to 61 with the average being 28 years (M= 28.09, SD= 14.178). The participants all voluntarily filled out an online survey originally sent out to the class. The authors both participated and gave their own survey responses. In order to get a wider range of results, the survey was also sent to members of a church, and shared on one of the author s personal social media page. Their responses were factored into... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Anything over five was not considered for this study. This is because for the purposes of this study, anything over five times a year is considered a significant amount of times to be ill. In this experiment, the main goal is to find a possible correlation between whether a person makes their bed daily or not and around how many times they are sick in a year. We hypothesize that making one s bed daily promotes good health habits, therefore preventing one from being ill frequently. Due to this, we predict that participants that reportedly make their beds daily will also report fewer instances of being sick per year, with most responses estimated to land around 1 3 times per year. The main independent variable being studied is whether participants make their bed daily, and the dependent variable would be how often they are sick in a year. There are some other independent variables that could impact the relationship, such as gender and age, because they too have an influence on the health of a person. Due to this, we asked participants to report that information as well, so we can take it into account when running data tests and drawing conclusions. Results Our independent variable for this study is whether participants make up their beds every morning. The dependent variable for this study is how many times a year participants get sick. Other independent variables recorded were gender and age. We ran a bivariate correlation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Conduct of British Generals in World War One Essay The Conduct of British Generals in World War One In 1914 the First World War, or the Great War, broke out in Europe. It involved the two main alliances of Europe at the time; one alliance was the triple entente with Germany, Austro Hungary and Serbia, the other alliance, the triple alliances, had Britain, France and Russia creating a ring of steel around Germany. This war of attrition was to take the lives of 8.5 million combatants and would change the way warfare was conducted and portrayed forever, it would involve 65 million men from 30 countries around the globe and Russia and America would emerge as the two great superpowers of the 20th century. During the battle of Verdun British artillery started to fire upon British infantry during an attack causing heavy casualties. These were all seen as foolish acts and it was shown, and still is shown, in various pieces of literature. In source C it shows the enormity of the killing at the Somme and the differences in losses between the two sides. It was written by John keegan, who is a qualified historian and there shouldn t be any reason for bias on his part and in this source he does contain many facts to support his views so it is quite a reliable source. On the other hand the generals could not have been tactically inept and blind to the minimal gains that some attacks were having because as the war progressed new tactics and innovative ways of attacking were brought to the front line and used with great effect. Ideas like the rolling barrage where men would creep behind shells that were continually firing while inching forward, another idea was night attacks where men would attack enemy positions ... • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Market Based Optimal Power... Optimal power flow is defined as fulfilling the power requirements of consumer s with least outlay of power generation. OPF is a functional unit that reduces the production expenditure, bus voltage divergences and losses which enhances the structure functionality by fulfilling some restraints. The nature of some of the variables follows continuity with real output of power and voltage and few other variables in OPF is discrete with phase shifters, reactive injections and tap settings in transformers which is considered to be major problem. OPF problem was resolved by several traditional optimization techniques. Market based optimal power flow In this a power pool model is developed which includes the one sided auction market in OPF. A hourly price bid is represented in the form of marginal cost by each market participant. Locational Marginal Price (LMP) is used to minimise Hourly Social Cost (HSC) was minimised by the bids which are taken as inputs to the OPF. A bilateral contract between the windsupplier and storage owner is used to purchase the curtailed wind power. By using the generation bids HSC function is formulated. Address the issue of the order of the data in binary searching. * The runtime for the sequential search is N. * The runtime for the binary search isn t found Suppose an algorithm that processes a data set of size 8 has a runtime of 72. The same algorithm has a runtime of 110 when applied to a data set of size 10; and when applied to a data set of size 20, it has a runtime of 420. Using big O notation, state the runtime for this algorithm for the general case of a data set of size n. • 8. William Shakespeare s Beowulf Essay Tuttle 1 Beowulf Unfit to be King of the Geats For 1000 years we have been reading of the adventures of Beowulf, and his story was told for hundreds of years before. The tale is full of trials, tribulations, adventure, great loss, great victory, and wonderful battles. But, what do we make of it? Is it a tale told to illustrate the virtues of the epic hero himself, or is it a cautionary tale, told to warn the readers of the dangers of allowing unqualified men (or women) to ascend to a position of leadership and the inevitable results of such an event? The author of Beowulf takes great care to describe the hero in detail, and we, as readers, learn about his abundant courage and strength. We are taken on a tour through his early struggles, his successes against the great monster Grendel and Grendel s mother, and his ultimate demise during his battle with a dragon. But one needs to analyze the unstated theme in order to fully appreciate the effect that Beowulf has had on readers for generations. Stanley Greenfield, in his article Beowulf and Epic Tragedy writes that, in the end, For all of Beowulf s efforts, he is reaped only with useless gold, for a nation soon to perish (104). This is representative of the core issue at hand in this epic. Beowulf is unfit to be a great king, despite his physical prowess. Because of his early and continuing history of foolishly taking unnecessary risks, his excessive pride and lack of humility, the diminishing quality of his personal ... • 9. Water Quality And Water Pollution CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background information Water is an essential resource for life which greatly influences our public and environmental health as well as providing the pedestal for most of our economic activities. Unsustainable use of fresh water resources, population increase, and the trend in industrial revolution have led to environmental degradation especially by the release of partially treated or untreated wastewater into aquatic systems. Thus, the global freshwater resource is at risk and majority of the problems that humanity faces in the twenty first century are related to water quantity and/or water quality issues (UNESCO, 2009). The importance of water for sustenance of life cannot be overemphasized and its depletion of either through contamination, or careless use results in serious consequences (Owa, 2013). About 70 % of the earth is covered with water, but hardly 2 % of it is quality for drinking (Mann et al., 2014). The relative importance of water quality versus water quantity, sanitation and hygiene education interventions for protecting the population s health has been the subject of considerable debate (Esrey et al, 1985, 1991). Nevertheless, there is broad agreement that good water quality, free of pathogens and heavy metals is important to human health. Water is regarded polluted if some components or condition is existing to such a magnitude that the water cannot be used for a particular purpose. Water pollutionaffects flora and organisms ... • 10. Mr. Friehling – a Future Auditing Case Study David Friehling will quite possibly be a future case study in auditing textbooks and courses throughout the United States. Mr. Friehling was the auditor for Bernard Madoff, who was recently convicted of running the largest Ponzi scheme ever uncovered through his business, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities, LLC (BMIS). Mr. Madoff claimed to actively oversee more than $65 billion in private investments (it was later revealed that roughly $823 million remained of the more than $170 billion that went through his accounts over the years).(1) Mr. Friehling flagrantly and purposely violated provisions of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Code of Professional Conduct,(2) Generally Accepted Auditing Standards,(3)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... None of this occurred. The final section, Standards of Reporting, requires the auditor to state when Generally Accepted Accounting Principles have not been consistently observed. This also did not occur. The SEC probed Mr. Madoff s business on numerous occasions for sixteen years. Despite many blatant warning signs, not once was there an investigation that uncovered the fraudulent auditing being performed. Regarding the SEC, Madoff was quoted in a jailhouse interview as saying that it never entered the SEC s mind that it was a Ponzi scheme, and also that he had too much credibility with them and they dismissed the idea of a Ponzi scheme.(7) The SEC contends that from 1991 through 2008 Mr. Friehling violated several different sections of the Securities Act, Exchange Act, and Advisors Act. The SEC alleges Friehling was not aware of the Ponzi scheme, but that he committed securities fraud by falsely representing he had performed legitimate audits, falsely stating the audits were conducted in accordance with GAAS, falsely stating that the financial statements were prepared under GAAP, and knowing that the auditreports were distributed to customers.(8) The charges also include aiding and abetting investment adviser fraud and filing false audit reports to the SEC. Mr. Friehling faces 105 years in prison if convicted of all charges. The PCAOB, created under the Sarbanes Oxley Act to help prevent fraud, did not require CPA firms who didn t audit public ... How does Don Quixote become a knight? Was it free will or fate? Some may say that the Odyssey is completely fate based and Don Quixote is entirely based on free will, but the two hold more similarities than you may realize. Homer, the writer of The Odyssey, focuses mainly on the god s influence of Odysseus s travels home. Miguel De Cervantes, writer of Don Quixote, uses Quixote s imagination and decisions to motivate travel. Although they bear some minor similarities, the differences between The Odyssey and Don Quixote are pronounced. Before discussing the similarities I would like to go over the differences between the two. In the Odyssey, the gods are responsible for controlling almost the entire story. They are the reason he gets captured and held for eight years. They are the cause of the storm that nearly drags Odysseus out to sea. They play a very important role in this poem. Don Quixote is written much differently than The Odyssey. Don Quixote has much more freedom to choose what happens in his life. He decides to become a knight and travel all over. He set off on a journey to help other and to earn his knighthood. He does this at his own free will, something that Odysseus did not have. The different goals are a result of different origins and different needs from international relations. This historical distinction is one of many which keeps Quebec distinct to this very day from the rest of Canada. There has been many different kinds of health care in Canada. Quebec s health care was a system operated by the church. The government of Lower Canada operated separately to this as people of Quebec preferred church run healthcare. This role was further solidified as a church operation when Confederation gave jurisdiction over health care to the provinces. This is evident of the fact that there were differences in health care policies before 1867. In the 20th century there was many different attempts at ridding Quebec of its distinct health care structure that further highlighted the differences. In 1940 for example there was a commission interested in stating federal spending powers and how they could centralise health care. This suggestion was not taken well by the government of Quebec or the church. Furthermore, the Hospital and Diagnostic Services Act 1957 was another attempt at creating symmetry amongst the provinces. The federal government created conditions for the provinces to adhere to if they wanted money. This was widely accepted in other provinces but Quebec withheld from this. • 35. Fate Of William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet Fate in Romeo and Juliet In modern times, and in the Elizabethan era, fate plays an important role in people s lives. Many people believe it to be written in stone, and unchangeable. Many others believe it to be controlled by a person s own actions. In Romeo and Juliet, fate is one of the main themes, described as having power over many of the events in the play. Fate is often called upon, wondered about, and blamed for mishaps. However, where fate is blamed in the play as the ultimate cause for a mishap, there is always an underlying action, or combination of them, on the part of human beings that decides the consequences. Human weakness, the loss of self control, is always the direct cause of a bad choice or mishap, and not fate itself. One of the most noted instances where fate is blamed for a mishap is when Romeo cries out the he supposedly is fortune s fool. He claims that fate has brought on Mercutio s death, and has lead him to kill Tybalt in revenge. In Act 3, Scene 1 of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is seen to be upset at Mercutio s death and predicts that the days black fate on more days doth depend. (III, I, 118) Tybalt then re enters and Romeo becomes more upset that Tybalt is triumphant with Mercutio being dead (III, I, 121). As Romeo becomes overwhelmed with Mercutio s death and Tybalt s joy over it, he suddenly declares that either he or Tybalt must die with Mercutio (III, I, 128). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Craig Johnson was nothing but a snack to the wolverine therefore there was no bond between the animal and the man. However, the dog in To Build A Fire did not try to harm the man in anyway. The Influence Of Digital Media On The United States Army The Influence of Digital Media on the United States Army Digital media has integrated itself into nearly every facet of the modern United States Army. For many years, the Army has increased its dependency on the use of digital media in day to day operations, training, communications, public relations, and administrative tasks. Some people claim that we are too dependent on these technologies for our own good. However, it has helped keep us the most powerful fighting force on the face of the planet. The technology had existed for five years, but the Army s slow procurement and distribution process was one of the many lessons learned: in the digital age, the Army had to move faster and be more flexible to change. This paperless platform would allow the Army to overhaul all administrative systems. The Publication Directorate stopped printing paper copies of manuals and regulations, and posted the digital copies to an online library, where changes could easily be updated. We often believe these scientists, but is there actually a reason for us to trust what they are passing on to us? What would science be if they had not been telling the truth? There is no denying the existence of public trust in the words of scientists, but it should be noted that everything that we understand as scientific fact today would be in question if we lost trust in our scientists. There has been a long going development of a public image of scientists, one that has recently begun to change. Due to factors such as the internet and the media, science is something that is able to been seen and looked into simultaneously by numerous people. The term object oriented programming was introduced to represent the extensive use of objects and messages as the basis for computation. The ideas of Simula 67 have influenced the creators of Smalltalk. In August 1981, Byte Magazine has introduced object based techniques via the Lisp machine to the developers. Integration of functional programming and Object oriented programming via Meta object protocol were results of experimentation on extensions to Lisp. Attempts were made design processor architectures that included hardware support for objects in memory which was unsuccessful. Those who teach at year round schools, where the school year begins a week after the previous year ended, find themselves in a different situation. Finalizing grades and report cards may take place while school is still in session, leaving teachers with a little over a day to prepare for the upcoming school year, only a week away. • 55. Character Analysis Of Napolewell And The Animal Farm Mr. Jones Mr. Jones was the original owner of the farm whose rule ended when the animals rebelled. His character symbolizes that of the ruler of Russia prior to the revolution, Tsar Nicholas II, who resigned from the throne due to unrest in the people. Prior to the animal rebellion, Jones had lost money due to a lawsuit and his farm suffered, his men were idle and dishonest, the fields were full of weeds...and the animals were underfed (38). However, Frederick did eventually ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
