Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto s Attack On Pearl Harbor
The morning of December 7th, 1941 started out just like any other day on the south side of Oahu
Hawaii but at 7:55 a.m. it all changed. Japanese fighter planes made an attack on the United States
Naval Base, Pearl Harbor which would lead to a bloody war between the United States and Japan. By
the end of the day, with the United States now on the cusp of entering World War II, a total of 2,335
U.S. servicemen and sixty eight civilians would lie dead. Tensions between the United States and
Japan had been going on for years and both countries were aware of the threat of the other. War with
Japan had been expected to break out at any time. Pearl Harbor had been expected to be within range
of a Japanese fleet full of air craft carriers, and Pearl Harbor was expected to be a location where the
Japanese could attack. Japan s plans for the attack began as early as January of 1941. Admiral Isoroku
Yamamoto came up with the idea to include the attack on Pearl Harbor to ... Show more content on

The planes were spotted by an army lieutenant but were thought to be planes arriving from California.
At 7:55 that same morning Japanese bombers began attacking United States airfields while battleships
of the Pacific fleet anchored in the Harbor hitting the Helena, Utah, and Oklahoma battleships.
Another wave of the attack occurred at 8:50 a.m.where there were attacks on shore installations, the
harbor, and airfields. Senator Daniel K. Akaka, who, at the time was a junior at The Kamehameha
School for Boys recalls that Our attention was drawn toward Pearl Harbor. Plumes of black smoke
rose from that area. None of us realized what was transpiring, except that there seemed to be furious
activity going on at the naval base. . On this infamous day the Japanese not only killed approximately

Little Miamiy Trail Research Paper
The Little Miami Scenic Trail
The final planned section of the Little Miami Scenic Trail opens May 1 for walking, jogging or
running, biking, and in line skating. The Little Miami rail trail is a paved trail that follows the
abandoned railroad route of the Little Miami Railroad from Milford (east of Cincinnati) to Springfield.
For most of the trail s length, a grassy strip runs beside it for horseback riding and runners and walkers
who want to feel ground below their feet!. The trail is crossed by a number of roads, but only a few
blocks of the trail in Xena share the road with cars. Ample parking is provided at each end of the trail,
with numerous access locations along its route. Restrooms, restaurants, and picnic facilities are also
available at intervals along the trail.
The Little Miami Scenic Trail is one of the best biking routes in the area, with mostly flat to rolling
terrain enlivened by views of the Little Miami River, farmland, and quaint small towns. Because the
trail was constructed in a long abandoned rail bed, much of the trail is deeply shaded a real plus on a
hot, sticky summer day.

through which a trail passes. Furthermore, in most areas, realtors say that sales of homes near a rail
trail have increased significantly. The chart below shows the results of a survey conducted in an
Indiana community. As you can see, most residents in the community reacted positively to the rail trail

Socialisation Is Broken Down Into Two Key Areas Of Our Own...
Socialisation is a process that begins early in life which continues until death that develops an
individual to become an accepted part of his or her society. Numerous influences have a profound
impact upon individuals as they become socialised and a valuable member to a society. This
socialisation produces individuals who fulfil a role within society and the way the process is carried
out is subject to a variety of perspectives and ideas as to how we become who we are. These
perspectives focus on key themes such as whether society is based on a meritocracy or if it is a
capitalist state and people are fed a hidden curriculum to become part of the societal machine. The
entire socialisation process, regardless of perspective, produces these individuals for society but does
gender help or hinder success? Are we an equal society? Are we masters of our own destiny?
Socialisation is broken down into two key areas, primary and secondary. Primary socialisation focuses
on the early development of an individual and how the principal agent of primary socialisation is the
family. The individual is socialised to various societal norms as well as sharing the beliefs of the
family. As the individual grows and develops it is then exposed to other agents of socialisation and
this is known as secondary socialisation. During secondary socialisation the family will still play an
important role socialising the individual, however other agents such as education, the media, friends
and the

Review Of Writing Like A White Guy
A widely held fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing, is the
definition of a stereotype. More than often people use stereotypes to describe or make fun of other
cultures without fully knowing the effects they may have on the other. Jaswinder Bolina an American
poet from Chicago,Illinois, whom received many degrees in creative writing had the liberty of not
living the difficult life that his parents, who are from Bolina Doaba, Punjab, went through. Expressing
what it was like to be an outcast when they came to America to start a new life together, Bolina s
father tries to give him the American dream by putting him in many white schools helping him further
his education so he can fit in where they were seen as outcast. Throughout Bolinas article, Writing
Like a White Guy he expresses his experiences and educates his readers of his many struggles in what
is considered a white based society that is filled with stereotypes telling you what you should look and
talk like in order to be a successful American. This often leaves people to reject their native culture,
constantly having to prove themselves and give white people an upper hand in many situations.
It is evident that no matter how hard we try to avoid it race plays a major role in today s society. Your
race and/or nationality and skin color plays a lot in how you are seen and perceived by the world. The
first thing you see when you look at a person is their skin color, which just

Abolishing The Death Penalty
The death penalty, also known as capital punishment, is a practice done by governments where a
person is put to death for breaking certain laws. The death penalty has been used since ancient times
as a way to punish lawbreakers and deter others from committing the same crime. As modern times
approached, however, there have been large debates within countries as to whether or not they should
continue using the death penalty or completely abolish the practice. People all over the world argue
about if it is a good way to punish to terrible criminals and stops others from committing horrible
crimes, or if it is a practice that can cause innocent people to wrongly be sentenced to death and
enforces the prejudiced police system. As of December 2017, ... Show more content on

However, the phrase worst of the worst does not have a set definition and people s opinions on what is
evil vary greatly from person to person. One article about the morality of capital punishment
expresses, Depending on how you think about death...you might oppose the death penalty on the
grounds that it is disproportionately harsh perhaps you think that no matter what someone has done,
she does not deserve to die for it, (Howard). Both sides are trying to argue that their stance is morally
just because everyone has a different set of morals, so it is not best to use morals as the basis for their
discussions. Additionally, states that use the death penalty do not have strict regulations on what the
worst of the worst really is, which leads to more changes in what types of crimes warrant the death
penalty, which then can lead to more executions. For example, Arizona s history with the death
penalty shows how our lack of understanding of what types of people should be sentenced to death
can lead to the practice being applied arbitrarily. In 1973, Arizona adopted a law which states that
prosecutors had to prove that a criminal did one of six aggravating factors do warrant them being
sentenced to death. Since then though, Arizona has more than doubled their number of factors to
fourteen (Tribe). This is a problem known as aggravator creep and it is where if a change or exception
is made, more and more will

The Concentration Of The Wastewater
where M1 is the molarity (concentration) of the wastewater, V1 is the amount of titrant used to reach a
neutral pH, M2 is the concentration of the titrant used, and V2 is the total amount of titrant used as
calculated in Figure 1. As Table 8 shows, the calculations were consistent with the qualitative analysis
of concentration formerly explained. For example, the olive oil had the most concentrated wastewater
at 10.25 M while detergent I and vegetable oil had the least concentrated waste water at 2.5 M and 3.6
M, respectively.
Just like all the other results, these titration analyses could be due to the improper formation of soap
due to a lack of heating again, as previously explained. Then, there was detergent II which started with
an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A 1M concentration of each was used in the titrations when a 6 M concentration should have been
used. As a result, this caused the calculated concentrations of the wastewater to be higher than they
otherwise would be.
Looking at Figures 2 7, the titration graphs have an interesting curve. The change in pH appears to
start slow, then almost instantaneously changes to the neutralized pH. For example, in Figure 2, the
olive oil wastewater starts with a very basic pH. As hydrochloric acid is added, the graph appears to
slowly move down the Y axis, meaning the pH is decreasing as well. Suddenly, around the time when
about 0.33 units of hydrochloric acid had been added, the graph drops steeply to the acidic pH values
and plateaus at the acidic pH of about 1.4. The vegetable oil waste water s titration curve in Figure 3,
the crisco waste water s titration curve in figure 4, the lard waste water s titration curve in figure 5,
and the detergent I waste water s titration curve in figure 6 all display the same described pattern as
olive oil waste water s titration curve. In figure 7, the detergent II waste water s curve follows the
same general pattern but is reversed. The graph starts at an acidic pH since the detergent II s waste
water was acidic. Then, it increases slowly at first and exponentially increases in pH with the graph
showing a steep curve and eventually leveling out to a basic pH of about 12. The

Companies and governments use capital markets to raise funds for their operations. Capital markets
include primary markets, such as IPOs that are placed with investors through underwriters, and
secondary markets, in which all subsequent trading takes place. Government agencies in different
countries regulate local capital markets, though some, especially exchanges, play some role in
regulating themselves . Primary markets are used for new issues and secondary markets are used for
existing issues for trading purposes. Stocks are bonds are the basic Capital market instruments which
are used in both primary and secondary markets. Secondary markets are securities purchases mainly
from other investors rather than directly from the issuing companies themselves. Stocks are used as
capital market instruments for physical, virtual and auction markets. Bonds are traded in the separate
bonds markets. Every capital market instrument is important because it depends on the investors
preference. Some are risk seeking and some are conservative who care about steady returns rather than
the high risk rate of return. Stocks are the most commonly used counterparts in capital market
instruments because they have an unlimited capital and have a higher rate of liquidity compared to
bonds. Composition of Investment Portfolio s Composition of an investment

Dr. Faustus By Christopher Marlowe
In the tale by Christopher Marlowe The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, Dr. Faustus enters into a
contract with the Devil in order to obtain the vast knowledge of the universe in exchange for his
eternal soul. The idea of making a pact with Satan for knowledge or power is noted to be an old
folklore motif (Greenblatt 1023). The play relies heavily on medieval beliefs of Heaven, Hell, God
and the Devil, which, according to the Norton Anthology of English Literature would have been taken
seriously in a time when belief in the reality of devils was almost universal (Greenblatt 1023). But,
can modern America, which operates within the realm of secularism, find any appeal in Marlowe s
tragic tale. Essentially is Marlowe s Dr. Faustus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Knowledge is what defines our species and reforms our culture. In the wake of never ending
advancement the desire to know more than the next person, start up, or foreign government often
pushes us to lengths that would be considered disgraceful. The corrupting power of knowledge in
contemporary America closely resembles the progression of Faustus pact with the devil to acquire the
knowledge of the universe. Faustus s is so willing to give up his own soul that he proclaims Had I as
many souls as there be stars / I d give them all for Mephastophilis (3.102, 103). What makes this
statement so dangerous is that even if he had two souls or more and Faustus could play it safe by only
giving up one or say half his souls, he wouldn t. It s Faustus s all in behavior, conjuring with dark
magic, renouncing the Trinity, and pledging his soul to Lucifer that Christopher Bigsby expounds in
The Cambridge Companion to Modern American Culture that the American is just like Faustus by
breaking the taboos against knowledge and experience, even at the cost of his soul...Thus the great
themes of the Renaissance and Reformation are fulfilled in the American as the archetypal modern
man (13). A prime example of Americans breaking the taboo would be the United

The Reality Of Visual Culture
When talking about a simple image, what else do we know about Visual Culture? Well, have you ever
been on the internet? Of course you ve have. The internet is where modern Visual Culture lives.
Mostly through jokes, and these jokes online are usually called memes. Now what is a meme? Well it
originally comes noted from the book The Selfish Gene (1989) Where a British scientist name Richard
Dawkins stated, a meme was A unit of cultural transmission. With the understanding of a meme, what
does it do? Well after watching the YouTube video Visual Culture Online (PBS, 2011) they spoked of
one person making one funny Photoshop of a picture of Leo walking, someone else would like to
contribute and try to make a funnier version, and then you end up having a large body of these Leo
photos all over the internet. Memes are something that brings people together and makes them want to
collaborate.
With memes being the funny side of Visual Culture, what about the video side? Visual Culture is in
many forms of media, such as movies, TV Show, and even an internet video. The best thing that
represents Visual Culture as a video form would be YouTube. YouTube is a website where you can
upload any video you like. Jeff Bullas a researcher for jeffbullas.com, found that 60 hours of videos
are uploaded every minute, or one hour of video is uploaded to YouTube every second. Over 4 billion
videos are viewed a day (Bullas, 2012) that s a lot of viewers and videos uploaded. YouTube is the

Doroids Dream Of Electric Sheep Character Analysis
What is it really that makes us human? Our characteristics draw a fine line between us and animals, or
even artificial intelligence, but what is it that makes us so different, so superior ? Philip K Dick s
novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, shows the different stages of morality tests that the
main character, Rick Deckard, experiences, and how he grows as a character to discover what being
human really means. Simple things such as being a bounty hunter and killing androids, the way
society views people like JR Isidore, and electric animals all take a deeper look at the term empathy
and what it means to be human. The novel explores many different attributes as to what sets humans
apart, but the recurring theme of empathy shows that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Isidore has been dehumanized by society, being deprived of basic human qualities such as
individuality, compassion, or civility, much like the androids. But the one quality that Isidore has an
overflowing abundance of is empathy, but gets none in return. Unlike Phil Resch, there is not one
thing that he does not care for, living or not. But, people look down on this trait that Isidore possess,
they see it as a major disability not to be able to see the difference between man and machine, but
really it s a gift. Isidore has so much empathy and compassion he has no room to discriminate. Soon
someone moves into his apartment building. Her name is Pris Stratton, and she happens to be an
android seeking safety from the bounty hunters, and eventually her acquaintances Roy and Irmgard
Baty move in as well. Isidore, with his copious amount of empathy, does not care whether or not they
re androids, he s just glad to have companions, and is more than willing to help protect them. But as
time passes, we, as readers discover that these androids live up to the expectations to, well,
stereotypical androids. These androids that Isidore is caring for only care for themselves, they care
nothing for Isidore, especially Roy Baty. I vote we kill Mr. Isidore and hide somewhere else (Dick

History Of The American Space Program
Wallop s Island, Cape Canaveral, and the History of the American Space Program America s space
program is undoubtedly one of its greatest modern achievements. Few people cannot recall the famous
quote That s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind, or do not know where it came from.
The story leading up to the moment a man walked on the moon, as well as everything that came after,
is just as interesting and important as the moment itself. The significance of the history of America s
aeronautics programs cannot possibly be overestimated, and their story is one that is incredibly
important to the modern world of today. It would not be the nation that it is, with the technology it
possesses, without its crucial involvement in the space race . If the technology that sent a man to the
moon did not exist, our daily lives would be impacted and basic tools would be missing. Beginning
with America s first official aeronautics organization, the National Advisory Committee for
Aeronautics (or NACA) and continuing through to the present day and the National Aeronautics and
Space Administration (or NASA), the story of America s aerospace programs is interesting and
extremely important. It is a story that spans many years and giant leaps in technology, and involves
important locations like Wallops Flight Facility and Kennedy Space Center. From the early beginnings

How Media Has Impacted Growing Up With A Measuring Body Image
In this advertisement it shows a little girl measuring herself with a measuring tape. By looking at this
image, it already outlines that we as society relay on having the perfect ideal women body, which is
being thin and skinny. Society also implies that valuing body image and perfection is significant that
children at a very young age are already influenced negatively growing up with a corrupted mindset.
The little girl in the photo is already measuring her waistline with a measuring tape at such a young
age. She is already feeling like she must be skinny to fit into society and is conscious of her size,
teaching her that she must look a certain way. The issue is that in society the media has
advertisements, commercials and magazines that portray standards such as women being thin, tall and
skinny. This according to the Western countries is having the perfect body image. The media shows
such unrealistic images to consumers such as these young girls to try to appear like these ideals that
are set for them from society that potentially be harmful and unhealthy which could lead to death
because of starvation leading to possible long term health disorders such as anorexia, bulimia nervosa

The Spiegelman family and their comrades were trying to be compassionate and help someone that
they identified with, someone who, through a shared desperate situation (or so they thought) they tried
to befriend. Unfortunately, he was so quick to turn his back on the people who had treated him so
kindly. Yet again, it becomes evident that no one can be trusted when the prisoners are being marched
from the concentration camp due to the Nazis fear that the United States and allies soon would
discover their operation. The Jewish prisoners arrange a plan with some of the German guards
marching alongside them. The prisoners pay the guards with the agreement that when they try to run
the German soldiers will fire over their heads and not kill them. When the time came to run, the
prisoners break away from the pack and start towards the woods, however, the same soldiers that
promised not to shoot them shot them in the back as they ran (Maus V II 82 83). The Germans that
were supposed to be the friends of the Jews and help them escape took their gold and did not hesitate
to shoot them in the back as they ran. Fortunately, for everyone s sake, not everyone was only out to
save himself or herself. In contrast to the many examples where betrayal was the norm there are
several examples of friends who were genuine and helped to make the situation better for someone

Treatment Of Schizophrenia And Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Some of the common psychiatric disorders that are experienced by patients include depression,
schizophrenia and generalized anxiety disorder. The psychiatric disorders may be caused by both
genetic and environmental factors. All these disorders of the mind greatly affect the quality of life of
the sufferers. Depression may affect any individual at any stage of life and the symptoms include lack
of interest and generalized low moods. The treatment for depression includes psychotherapy,
pharmacotherapy and an unpopular method; electroconvulsive therapy when the disease is extensive
(Watson, 2005). The complications in the treatment of the disease include headaches and
disorientation. Schizophrenia is disease of the mind that makes it arduous for an individual to tell
between the real and what is unreal. The symptoms of schizophrenia include obscured thinking
depression and hallucinations among others. The treatment of schizophrenia ranges from
pharmacotherapy to psychosocial interventions such as skills training, family therapy and cognitive
remediation among others. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), in which the sufferer is constantly
worried about several things, is characterized with incapability to let go of trivial matters that concern
an individual. The sufferers are unable of thinking clearly as their mind is clouded with varied
thoughts of worry. GAD has similar symptoms to panic disorder and other anxiety disorders. The

Abstract
An extensive small signal analysis of a voltage mode controlled interleaved dual boost (IDB)
converter operating in continuous current mode based on signal flow graph approach is proposed.

This general method has led to understanding of dynamic performance of PWM converters. However,
the state space method is sometimes tedious, especially when the converter circuit contains a large
number of elements [6]. To overcome some of the problems mentioned above, a signal flow graph
(SFG) nonlinear graphical modeling method was developed for PWM converters [7]. The advantages
of this method over other methods are: (i) it converts the switching converter into a unified dynamic
model, (ii) from unified model, it is possible to derive large, small signal and steady state models,
(iii) it is easier to arrive at small signal models with minimum mathematical manipulations, (iv) it is
possible to derive various relationships among the circuit variables without any difficulty, (v) it is
possible to incorporate the cause and effect relationship of the dynamics etc. This SFG method

was also extended to study the dynamics of one cycle controlled switching converters [8], large signal
and steady state analysis of dc dc parallel converters [9]. The objective of this paper is to develop the
small signal SFG from the simplified SFG, and present a small signal feedback analysis of a closed
loop voltage mode controlled interleaved dual boost (IDB) converter.

Analyzing Cat Stevens Song
The song If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out by Cat Stevens, featured repeatedly in the film and on the
soundtrack of Harold and Maude (1971), was an original work created for the film. It best represents
the film and the ideas portrayed in it through the film s main characters by relating to them through
uplifting lyrics and meanings that can be associated with the pasts and presents of the characters. It
describes the way one yearns to live and displays the way the other does. For Dame Marjorie Chardin,
Maude, the song outlines her beliefs and shows how she lives her life to the fullest. You can do what
you want, the opportunity s on. She does whatever she wants to do, whenever she feels like doing it.
She poses nude, an already discouraged practice for young people, as an older woman, she abducted a
tree from public property to replant it in the forest because it was dying, draws happier visages on sour
faced statues of saints, she used to liberate canaries from pet shops commenting that the world so
dearly loves a cage, and she even lives in an old train ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

in one scene even standing directly beside the priest while he s praying over the body. Harold craves

want to be free, be free depict Harold s wish but wanting to be free isn t enough for him, he doesn t

where Maude and Harold sing and dance, she gives him a banjo and attempts to pull him out of his

sing If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out. Maude is teaching Harold to be free, she becomes his

How Did The Enlightenment Impact On American Society
The Impact of European Philosophers
The philosophers in Europe leading to the Enlightenment era have had a drastic impact on the
formation of our government and the way it functions. The Enlightenment era was crucial in
determining aspects of colonial America. America provided a excellent clean slate for the European
philosophers to form, shape, and paint it from the base to the finished masterpiece. Many concepts
were brought to America to build it up to what it is today.
John Locke was a huge philosopher with big ideas. He believed in rights that are given at birth that no
man can take away. Thus, every man is created equal. His views on unalienable rights opened the eyes
of those who did not see. His famous saying Life, liberty, and property , is used in the Declaration of
Independence as Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This specificity stood out to Thomas ...

His writings allowed others to see the injustice of slave trade and religious prejudice. The Declaration
of Independence reflects the British government s corruption which devastated the American colonies
and drove the Founding Fathers to revolution. Additionally, Voltaire was a staunch supporter of the
freedom of speech, which is emphasized by the American Constitution. Voltaire s ideas painted the
clay of America.
Montesquieu believed in separating the powers of the government and that one branch of government
does not have more power than the other. His ideas were interpreted by Thomas Jefferson and other
American products as Separation of powers and Checks and Balances .
Amendment 8 of our Bill of Rights sates, No cruel and unusual punishment . We can thank Beccaria

Conductive Polymers Are A Specific Section Under The Broad...
Conductive polymers are a specific section under the broad range of polymers, that have the ability to
effectively conduct electricity. They were discovered by accident in a lab by Hideki Shirakawa in
1974, yet their potential applications were not understood until early 2000s. They are made by doping
with n type and p type which forces electrons to move throughout the material which normally would
not happen because of a polymer molecular structure. They provide many advantages over metals
because of they are light weight, cheap, and functional versatile. Conductive polymers are frequently
used with rechargeable batteries, sensors, and light displays. Lastly, they have a bright future with the
world turning towards wanting more technology that is light weight and integrated in the day to day
functions.
A typical polymer is a very ductile, cheap, and light material that cannot handle high temperatures or
electrical conductivity. Polymers are generally used for plastic bags and bottles, crates, toys, and
insulation on electrical cables. Electrical conductivity is usually found only in metals because of its
small to nonsexist band gap between the filled and empty bands. Electrons are able to move freely
between the bands which is the current allowing everything to work. Polymers have a large enough
band gap that makes it very difficult for electrons to go between the bands. Large amounts of energy
would be needed to force electrons across this gap. However, with the addition

Give Me Liberty By Eric Foner Summary
In this excerpt from Eric Foner s Give Me Liberty!, he discusses the significance of religion in the
lives of Native Americans, as well as the social relations of Native Americans and the freedom and
liberty they attempted to acquire. As mentioned in the previous discussion, certain tribes in North
America were diverse. Although, they shared a common ideal and that was religion. Despite what
most of us may think, their religion was not quite different to those of Europeans. Moreover, owning
property was also something Native Americans believe as being a common resource, not an economic
commodity, whereas in the United States, the only people that owned land and property were white
males. Like every society, social status played a major role in determining one s reputation. For
instance, kindness and trade were valued tremendously. In addition, the Native Americans valued
attributes like generosity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women s lives were different compared to other countries because women were open to do such tasks,
premarital sex, marriage, and divorce. Men, on the other hand, contributed in communities by hunting
and played a sort of role model of what a successful leader is like. Society wasn t really a patriarch yet
because women contributed in religious ceremonies as tribal leaders. Because of these different ideals
and beliefs, the Europeans perceived the Native Americans as noble savages, as opposed to their first
encounter describing them as beautiful of stature and build. However, as time went on, so did the
Europeans desire for conquest, which resulted in the conquering of their lands. The Native Americans
were then forced to do labor and like many endured throughout history, they were mistreated. The
arrival of the Europeans started the promotion of a patriarchal society, having women do housework
and men taking authority ultimately taking some freedom away from the Native

Clay Jannon Literary Analysis
Ever since the introduction of humans on Earth, homo sapiens have dominated this planet. However,
despite human superiority, there have been many times in history where people continue to perceive
different incidents and occurrences in one way, however, in reality, these occurrences have a much
deeper meaning. In the novel, Clay Jannon goes beyond the misunderstanding of life and travels deep
into the real world to find the meaning of life. Robin Sloan, the author of the story, Mr. Penumbra s 24

The Class Of Middle Class In Bangladesh
The Hardship of The Middle Class in Bangladesh
In any country, a society can be neatly divided into three main classes, mainly as per their financial
status. The top class is the rich class which is a class by itself, absolutely unmoved and untouched no
matter what happens to the economy of the country. This is because they can afford anything at any
cost. This class is usually synonymous with the business class whose income seems to increase with
every rise in prices. So, they are absolutely unconcerned with whatever happens to prices. The second
class to whom also rises in prices and any turn of economy make no difference. The second class of
society known as the middle class is the most important class of a society. This class comprises the
people who are neither rich nor poor. They are comfortably settled with all amenities but, they cannot
squander money on frivolities. This class stays busy in maintaining a standard as they are the white
collared gentry of the society.
Bangladeshi society can broadly be divided into three classes. On the top, there are the rich. They are
the people who have got everything in plenty. At the bottom there are the poor. They are ill fed and ill
clad. It is seldom seen that they have their own houses to live in. In between these two classes, we
have the middle class. The people belonging to this class are neither very rich nor very poor. They
have to maintain themselves outwardly in a fitting and decent manner. The middle class has gone

The Role Of The Hero s Journey In Star Wars
The hero s journey is an ongoing concept used in many tales which involves a hero who goes on an

the hero becomes a hero by attaining in what they believe in for the good of others. Among the
numerous tales which the hero s journey is utilized there are some that stand out more compared to

hero s journey. The hero in this film is known as Luke Skywalker whom goes through all the ordeals
and comes out as a hero.
The hero s journey is comprised of 12 steps in which the protagonist must complete in order to be

his present story begins. In Star Wars, Luke s story begins on the desert planet of Tatooine, where he is

The Gross Clinic Painting Analysis
In this essay I will be depicting and comparing two of the most well known anatomical paintings of all
time. The first painting is The Gross Clinic by Thomas Eakins an oil painting canvas from 1875 drew
in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The second painting is The Anatomy Lesson by Rembrandt is also an
oil painting canvas but drew in 1632 the Dutch Baroque era. Both paintings depict surgeons at work
dissecting features of dead bodies for experimental studies for groups of fellow surgeons and students.

In this painting the bright red blood colors from the surgeon s fingers and scalpel, and the gruesome
fresh incision is fascinating, as well as repulsive, and confusing since it is so hard to read the detailed
position of the patient s body. Never the less some viewers admired Eakins s precision of detailed
composition, color, and praised his convincing creation space as well as form, although many were
revoked by what was considered inartistic and horribly disgusting realism. Where as in The Anatomy
Lesson it has been pointed out several times that this painting does not actually depict the dissection
taking place in real life. There are many details that point this out. For one in the scene there does not
seem to be a crowd in the anatomy theater as we would normally see in a real depiction. The second
point is that in all of Amsterdam anatomy lessons there is an abundance of the lack of instruments for
the dissection taken place, also there is an absence of the preparator who has the task of preparing the
body for the lesson that will be taking place. This was considered to be a low end and bloody task,
which Dr. Tulp would not be expected to take care of. Finally the dissection itself is very unrealistic in
which this is before any available preservation methods for the dead, the abdomen, which were most

Ten Days In A Mad-House
Nellie Bly, a journalist and social reformer of the late nineteenth century, sought to uncover existing
corruption in social institutions through writing expose features. A feminist, social activist, and writer,
Bly both contributed to and was influenced by the social and literary forces of the time period. During
the late eighteen hundreds, Nellie Bly challenged social expectations of women, questioned the
morality of certain social institutions, and defined a distinctive writing style by incorporating the
trends of the time into her own approach. At sixteen, Nellie Bly, then named Elizabeth Jane Cochran,
began her course as a feminist in 1885 by writing a letter in opposition to an article that touted the
home as the proper domain for women. While Bly s progressive response to this article demonstrated
a modern approach to the role of women, the argument that women are bound to domestic duties was

sheds light on the mistreatment of patients, cruelty of staff, and inability for patients to prove their
sanity with a focus on the women of the institution. At the end of Bly s expose is a call to action with
the hopeful implication that the problems she has witnessed could be easily fixed if they are
addressed. This optimistic sentiment is congruent with the empowered nature of late nineteenth
century reformers who organized for large scale policy change. Like Upton Sinclair who authored an

Feminism Research Paper
Feminism has proven to be a recurring and undying concept through the years. It is made up of a
range beliefs and ideologies geared towards the implementation of the rights of women. This
movement aims to achieve a common goal: the eradication of inequality and false practices against
women. It aims to give women the freedom they need and deserve. Feminism consists of activism,
which may either be in groups or individually, fighting for a common goal. Gone are the days where
women are not allowed to run for certain positions in the government, to vote, to work, to be given
education and to make decisions for themselves. Men and women are human beings. Men and women

Equality is a rather broad term. It speaks of a relation between two different objects with unifying
characteristics. Gender inequality has been one of the most occurring human rights violations of our

It has been said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but the protagonist in the play by Edmond
Rostand, Cyrano de Bergerac, can t find the beauty in his distinctive and prominent nose; because
overtakes not just his face but his life. Cyrano is so obsessed with his unsightly nose he
overcompensates by bragging, showing off, and joking about it. Due to his self consciousness, he
attempts to distract others from his internal suffering caused by his looks, making Cyrano the
beautifully tragic hero in this story of love and deception.
Cyrano attempts to distract people from his true feelings about his nose by joking and making light of
it while, at other times, he reveals his true loathing of his looks. It becomes clear in the story that ...

When De Guiche is about to be captured by the enemy, in order to avoid being a target, he cowardly
throws away his scarf, which is a symbol of his eminent position in the army. Cyrano approaches him
and says, Boasting? Lend it to me/ To night; I ll lead the first charge, with your scarf/ over my
shoulder! (Rostand 140). Cyrano is exposing De Guiche s weakness and cowardness and declaring
how heroic he would be, thus claiming to be a better leader than De Guiche. Again, Cyrano is boasting
about himself and being irreverent toward others while telling extraordinary tales of his own bravery
in an effort to feel better about himself and portray himself as a strong

Beethoven Prologue
CHAPTER SEVENTEEN The Hush of Thunder Rock Several gnomes lowered a rowboat into the
bubbly pale purple sea. We piled in and started paddling toward the shore. From my vantage point, I
could see that the island was rather large and egg shaped. The volcanoes were positioned near the
center, and pitted glaciers lined the far side. Once we landed, the captain pulled our tiny craft onto the
sand. Some of the lounging mermaids nodded indignantly at us, as if suggesting we had no right to
intrude on their sunbathing. Then they slowly slithered on their elbows over the sand toward the water
s edge and dove in. I watched as they swam away, flapping their tails in disgust. Some remained and
simply ignored us. Emma laughed. I guess that s our welcoming party. I guess ... Show more content

Aiden. You re bleeding. Don t worry about it. I tripped. I m fine. I dabbed at my forehead with my
sleeve. I wish Cotton was here. I know he d have a handkerchief I could use. Everybody laughed, and
then they abruptly stopped. Their eyes widened and their jaws dropped. What wrong? It s not that bad.
Okay, I ll be honest, it looks way worse than it is. It really doesn t hurt at all, I said. They all began
shaking their heads slowly, from side to side. Their faces were frozen, and their mouths were still ajar.
The captain raised an unsteady hand and pointed at something behind me. I turned around and there
was a gigantic white dragon, lying in a field about a hundred feet away. It had a long snout, large red
eyes, and was covered with armored scales. A pointed horn poked out of the top of its head, and its
powerful limbs looked like massive tree trunks. I jumped back about three feet and squealed, Um . . .
he e elp! The dragon expelled a huge belch and white smoke wafted from its nostrils. Then it yawned
wide, exposing its sharp fangs, and sat back to rest on its

A Worn Path, The Bean Trees, Little Women, How It Feels...
Courageous and Heroic Women in A Worn Path, The Bean Trees, Little Women, How It Feels To Be
Colored Me, and the The Piano
Women have been heroic and courageous throughout history, though not all of these heroic (or
courageous) adventures have been shown in any way. Some of women s heroic and courageous
adventures are portrayed through short stories, books, and movies. Eudora Welty s short story A Worn
Path, Barbara Kingsolver s book The Bean Trees, Louisa May Alcott s book Little Women, Zora Neale
Hurston s story How It Feels To Be Colored Me, and the movie The Piano all show women going
through their own amazing and heroic adventures. In these stories, the authors and director share with
the reader (and watcher) the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After she takes a nap in a ditch a hunter comes by and helps her but ends up threatening her with his
gun. Danger can come from anywhere, as the hunter shows in this instance, but Phoenix does a good
job of taking care of the dangers and not getting hurt herself.
In The Bean Trees the character Taylor goes through some of her own courageous adventures. When
she was still at home and working at the hospital, she had to deal with a girl named Jolene, someone
she knew from her town. Jolene s husband, who had a bad reputation, had been shot and was now
dead. The woman was a little crazy, telling her husband don t daddy... (Kingsolver 7). This
circumstance is not an adventure of the body but of the mind. Taylor has to be strong, courageous, and
smart to be able to deal with Jolene. This situation was one of the first adventures that Taylor goes
through, and it helps her to deal with later adventures because it made her stronger.
When Taylor graduated high school, she bought herself a car and intended to drive out of Pittman
County one day and never look back (Kingsolver 10). This would take a lot of courage in order to
leave the place that she has known all of her life. She doesn t know what she will find when she gets
where she s going. She does manage to drive out of Pittman County, but she has a lot more chances
for courage on the road. While in Oklahoma a lady just gives her a baby to take care of. She has to

Questions On The Wise Choice Process
1. Write the six questions of the Wise Choice Process and answer each one as it relates to your
situation
The Wise Choice Process
1. What s my present situation? (Describe the problem objectively and completely.)
My present situation is being married, full time worker, full time student. right now I feel as though I
don t have a complete grasp on what to do to better my life. College is my main priority, because I
know I need a good education in order to accomplish the future career I want, but It is somewhat hard
to focus on classes because of how stressed I get over having a job and having a husband. There are so
many things I need to pay for and so much I need to help my husband out with. Dropping out of
college is out of the question. I am going to stay in college no matter what. I just need to find a way to
balance school, work and marriage, as well as maintain my stress.
2. How would I like my situation to be? (What is your ideal future outcome?)
My ideal future outcome is to get my Associate of Science Nursing by 2019 or 2020 and dive right
into my career right after I graduate. In order to achieve this, I would like to keep my job that works
according to my schedule, and supports me throughout my college years so that I can focus on school
and not have to worry about my financial stability, be with my husband for the rest of my life will be
perfect. Ideally, I want to control all aspects of my life.
3. What are my possible choices?

  • 2. Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto s Attack On Pearl Harbor The morning of December 7th, 1941 started out just like any other day on the south side of Oahu Hawaii but at 7:55 a.m. it all changed. Japanese fighter planes made an attack on the United States Naval Base, Pearl Harbor which would lead to a bloody war between the United States and Japan. • 5. Socialisation Is Broken Down Into Two Key Areas Of Our Own... Socialisation is a process that begins early in life which continues until death that develops an individual to become an accepted part of his or her society. Numerous influences have a profound impact upon individuals as they become socialised and a valuable member to a society. This socialisation produces individuals who fulfil a role within society and the way the process is carried out is subject to a variety of perspectives and ideas as to how we become who we are. These perspectives focus on key themes such as whether society is based on a meritocracy or if it is a capitalist state and people are fed a hidden curriculum to become part of the societal machine. The entire socialisation process, regardless of perspective, produces these individuals for society but does gender help or hinder success? Are we an equal society? Are we masters of our own destiny? Socialisation is broken down into two key areas, primary and secondary. Primary socialisation focuses on the early development of an individual and how the principal agent of primary socialisation is the family. The individual is socialised to various societal norms as well as sharing the beliefs of the family. As the individual grows and develops it is then exposed to other agents of socialisation and this is known as secondary socialisation. During secondary socialisation the family will still play an important role socialising the individual, however other agents such as education, the media, friends and the ... • 7. Review Of Writing Like A White Guy A widely held fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing, is the definition of a stereotype. More than often people use stereotypes to describe or make fun of other cultures without fully knowing the effects they may have on the other. Jaswinder Bolina an American poet from Chicago,Illinois, whom received many degrees in creative writing had the liberty of not living the difficult life that his parents, who are from Bolina Doaba, Punjab, went through. Expressing what it was like to be an outcast when they came to America to start a new life together, Bolina s father tries to give him the American dream by putting him in many white schools helping him further his education so he can fit in where they were seen as outcast. Throughout Bolinas article, Writing Like a White Guy he expresses his experiences and educates his readers of his many struggles in what is considered a white based society that is filled with stereotypes telling you what you should look and talk like in order to be a successful American. This often leaves people to reject their native culture, constantly having to prove themselves and give white people an upper hand in many situations. It is evident that no matter how hard we try to avoid it race plays a major role in today s society. The death penalty has been used since ancient times as a way to punish lawbreakers and deter others from committing the same crime. As modern times approached, however, there have been large debates within countries as to whether or not they should continue using the death penalty or completely abolish the practice. People all over the world argue about if it is a good way to punish to terrible criminals and stops others from committing horrible crimes, or if it is a practice that can cause innocent people to wrongly be sentenced to death and enforces the prejudiced police system. As of December 2017, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the phrase worst of the worst does not have a set definition and people s opinions on what is evil vary greatly from person to person. One article about the morality of capital punishment expresses, Depending on how you think about death...you might oppose the death penalty on the grounds that it is disproportionately harsh perhaps you think that no matter what someone has done, she does not deserve to die for it, (Howard). Both sides are trying to argue that their stance is morally just because everyone has a different set of morals, so it is not best to use morals as the basis for their discussions. Additionally, states that use the death penalty do not have strict regulations on what the worst of the worst really is, which leads to more changes in what types of crimes warrant the death penalty, which then can lead to more executions. For example, Arizona s history with the death penalty shows how our lack of understanding of what types of people should be sentenced to death can lead to the practice being applied arbitrarily. In 1973, Arizona adopted a law which states that prosecutors had to prove that a criminal did one of six aggravating factors do warrant them being sentenced to death. Since then though, Arizona has more than doubled their number of factors to fourteen (Tribe). The Concentration Of The Wastewater where M1 is the molarity (concentration) of the wastewater, V1 is the amount of titrant used to reach a neutral pH, M2 is the concentration of the titrant used, and V2 is the total amount of titrant used as calculated in Figure 1. As Table 8 shows, the calculations were consistent with the qualitative analysis of concentration formerly explained. For example, the olive oil had the most concentrated wastewater at 10.25 M while detergent I and vegetable oil had the least concentrated waste water at 2.5 M and 3.6 M, respectively. Just like all the other results, these titration analyses could be due to the improper formation of soap due to a lack of heating again, as previously explained. Then, there was detergent II which started with an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A 1M concentration of each was used in the titrations when a 6 M concentration should have been used. As a result, this caused the calculated concentrations of the wastewater to be higher than they otherwise would be. Looking at Figures 2 7, the titration graphs have an interesting curve. The change in pH appears to start slow, then almost instantaneously changes to the neutralized pH. For example, in Figure 2, the olive oil wastewater starts with a very basic pH. As hydrochloric acid is added, the graph appears to slowly move down the Y axis, meaning the pH is decreasing as well. Suddenly, around the time when about 0.33 units of hydrochloric acid had been added, the graph drops steeply to the acidic pH values and plateaus at the acidic pH of about 1.4. The vegetable oil waste water s titration curve in Figure 3, the crisco waste water s titration curve in figure 4, the lard waste water s titration curve in figure 5, and the detergent I waste water s titration curve in figure 6 all display the same described pattern as olive oil waste water s titration curve. In figure 7, the detergent II waste water s curve follows the same general pattern but is reversed. The graph starts at an acidic pH since the detergent II s waste water was acidic. Then, it increases slowly at first and exponentially increases in pH with the graph showing a steep curve and eventually leveling out to a basic pH of about 12. The ... This general method has led to understanding of dynamic performance of PWM converters. However, the state space method is sometimes tedious, especially when the converter circuit contains a large number of elements [6]. To overcome some of the problems mentioned above, a signal flow graph (SFG) nonlinear graphical modeling method was developed for PWM converters [7]. The advantages of this method over other methods are: (i) it converts the switching converter into a unified dynamic model, (ii) from unified model, it is possible to derive large, small signal and steady state models, (iii) it is easier to arrive at small signal models with minimum mathematical manipulations, (iv) it is possible to derive various relationships among the circuit variables without any difficulty, (v) it is possible to incorporate the cause and effect relationship of the dynamics etc. This SFG method M. Veerachary et al. / Computers and Electrical Engineering 29 (2003) 67 84 69 was also extended to study the dynamics of one cycle controlled switching converters [8], large signal and steady state analysis of dc dc parallel converters [9]. Analyzing Cat Stevens Song The song If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out by Cat Stevens, featured repeatedly in the film and on the soundtrack of Harold and Maude (1971), was an original work created for the film. It best represents the film and the ideas portrayed in it through the film s main characters by relating to them through uplifting lyrics and meanings that can be associated with the pasts and presents of the characters. It describes the way one yearns to live and displays the way the other does. For Dame Marjorie Chardin, Maude, the song outlines her beliefs and shows how she lives her life to the fullest. You can do what you want, the opportunity s on. She does whatever she wants to do, whenever she feels like doing it. She poses nude, an already discouraged practice for young people, as an older woman, she abducted a tree from public property to replant it in the forest because it was dying, draws happier visages on sour faced statues of saints, she used to liberate canaries from pet shops commenting that the world so dearly loves a cage, and she even lives in an old train ... Conductive polymers are a specific section under the broad range of polymers, that have the ability to effectively conduct electricity. They were discovered by accident in a lab by Hideki Shirakawa in 1974, yet their potential applications were not understood until early 2000s. They are made by doping with n type and p type which forces electrons to move throughout the material which normally would not happen because of a polymer molecular structure. They provide many advantages over metals because of they are light weight, cheap, and functional versatile. Conductive polymers are frequently used with rechargeable batteries, sensors, and light displays. Lastly, they have a bright future with the world turning towards wanting more technology that is light weight and integrated in the day to day functions. A typical polymer is a very ductile, cheap, and light material that cannot handle high temperatures or electrical conductivity. Polymers are generally used for plastic bags and bottles, crates, toys, and insulation on electrical cables. Electrical conductivity is usually found only in metals because of its small to nonsexist band gap between the filled and empty bands. Electrons are able to move freely between the bands which is the current allowing everything to work. Polymers have a large enough band gap that makes it very difficult for electrons to go between the bands. Large amounts of energy would be needed to force electrons across this gap. Give Me Liberty By Eric Foner Summary In this excerpt from Eric Foner s Give Me Liberty!, he discusses the significance of religion in the lives of Native Americans, as well as the social relations of Native Americans and the freedom and liberty they attempted to acquire. As mentioned in the previous discussion, certain tribes in North America were diverse. Although, they shared a common ideal and that was religion. Despite what most of us may think, their religion was not quite different to those of Europeans. Moreover, owning property was also something Native Americans believe as being a common resource, not an economic commodity, whereas in the United States, the only people that owned land and property were white males. Like every society, social status played a major role in determining one s reputation. For instance, kindness and trade were valued tremendously. Because of these different ideals and beliefs, the Europeans perceived the Native Americans as noble savages, as opposed to their first encounter describing them as beautiful of stature and build. However, as time went on, so did the Europeans desire for conquest, which resulted in the conquering of their lands. The Native Americans were then forced to do labor and like many endured throughout history, they were mistreated. The Class Of Middle Class In Bangladesh The Hardship of The Middle Class in Bangladesh In any country, a society can be neatly divided into three main classes, mainly as per their financial status. The top class is the rich class which is a class by itself, absolutely unmoved and untouched no matter what happens to the economy of the country. This is because they can afford anything at any cost. This class is usually synonymous with the business class whose income seems to increase with every rise in prices. So, they are absolutely unconcerned with whatever happens to prices. The second class to whom also rises in prices and any turn of economy make no difference. The second class of society known as the middle class is the most important class of a society. This class comprises the people who are neither rich nor poor. They are comfortably settled with all amenities but, they cannot squander money on frivolities. This class stays busy in maintaining a standard as they are the white collared gentry of the society. For one in the scene there does not seem to be a crowd in the anatomy theater as we would normally see in a real depiction. The second point is that in all of Amsterdam anatomy lessons there is an abundance of the lack of instruments for the dissection taken place, also there is an absence of the preparator who has the task of preparing the body for the lesson that will be taking place.
