3. Is a regular dental check up necessary?
It is considered a good practice to have regular oral
and complete body check-ups. How frequently must
one need such routine check-ups depends upon
various factors that affect oral health. This evaluation
done by the doctor is guided by the efficiency of your
oral hygiene maintenance. Rigorous implementation
of measures can however inversely affect the teeth,
causing more harm than good. Thus following
adequate oral care under appropriate guidance is the
key to a healthy mouth
4. Self assessment of methods of oral
maintenance -
Brushing twice daily with a fluoridated
toothpaste and small head, soft bristle brush
by the technique that suites you best,
determined and taught by the your dentist.
Regular flossing/ use of inter-dental cleaning
aids, to maintain spaces not accessible by your
brush.
5. Eating well balanced diet, and
avoidance of excessive consumption of
sticky and sweet foods.
Avoidance of smoking and continuous
intake of carbonated drinks which can
cause disintegration of teeth. (Dental
