How should I prepare to a parent-
teacher conference?
 Have a folder for each student
    Examples of student’s work.
    Notes on every time student breaks a classroom rule.
     Include date, time and consequence.
 Give parents at least two possible dates and times for
  meetings
 Briefly share with parents the topic of the meeting.
 Once the meeting is schedule, make sure a guidance
  counselor or an assistant principal can attend the
  meeting
During the meeting
 Meet the parents at the school office, some parents
    struggle with finding your classroom
   Make sure both of you seat at the same level
   Begin the meeting with a positive comment about the
    student.
   Introduce the topic of the meeting.
   Listen to parents’ concerns
Finishing the meeting
 Finish the meeting with a positive comment about the
  student
 Make sure, you, the guidance counselor and parents have a
  copy of the behavior/grade improvement plan
   Student’s name
   Date
   Issue
   Consequences
   Plan for improvement
 Keep the behavior/grade improvement plan in the
  student’s folder
Classroom Activity

 3. Bullying
 4. Class work completion
