The Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre needed an integrated library system but had no budget. They selected the open-source system PMB, which was easy to use and install, and provided functionality like cataloging, circulation, and an online public access catalog. While some customization was required, PMB met their needs and allowed them to launch their online library system without licensing fees. Choosing open-source joined them to a community of PMB users.
