Pinterest is now referring more traffic to websites than Twitter. Instagram’s integration with Facebook helps you bring more content to your followers seamlessly. Take this class to learn how to build on your current Facebook profile through the most popular visual social mediums: Instagram and Pinterest.
2. Pinterest allows users to create virtual inspiration
boards of images found on the web. Users
browse other boards in the community and have
the ability to comment and like boards or pins.
There is additional functionality that allows users
to repin finds to their own boards creating a viral
sharing environment.
•3rd highest referral traffic rater behind
Facebook and Twitter
•Pinterest referrals are 10 percent more likely to
make a purchase and spend 10 percent more.
3. Pinterest Buzzwords
Pins are images/graphs that are added to Pinterest,
Boards are categories of pins that users build usually around a particular interest,
topic or theme.
Repins happen when a user adds an image they find while looking around in
Pinterest and they pin it to one of their boards (think of it as a Facebook like that
they keep on their page)
Following a Board is an option when you are only interested in seeing pins from
that specific Board (maybe a Board about condos in Chicago)
Following a user is the same concept except you will see everything they pin and
new boards they create.(Following your favorite Real Estate agents)

Celebrity homes
Unique photos of top communities
High resolution, artistic shots of exclusive neighborhoods
Luxury homes
Homes with unique architecture
Funny looking homes
Massive homes
DIY
TIP: When pinning and tagging
your photos, think about what
a user might search for on
Pinterest, NOT what you would
want them to search for. In
other words, “NYC Luxury” may
be a little more likely to get
some traction as opposed to an
address
9. Creating Content:
Posting your listings from TOWNREALESTATE.com
Make sure to use keywords, add a call to action, and include a link
11. How are Repins Valuable for Link Building?
Repins SEO
when you pin an image that becomes viral on Pinterest (i.e. users repin it to their own
boards), you are getting a source-link on each of those repinned images that now exist
on other users’ boards.
TIP: When pinning and tagging your photos, think about what a user might
search for on Pinterest, NOT what you would want them to search for. In other
words, “Luxury homes” or “Gorgeous Apartments” may work better than an
address
12. Worried about what to post?
• SOFT SELL
• Use Pinterest to create real estate content
• Your personal listings
• Your favorite design
• Favorite architecture
• Use Instagram to create rich personalized content for your Facebook
page
14. Instagram is a mobile photo-sharing social application that allows users to
easily take photos, manipulate them with filters and then them upload to
multiple synced social platforms. Users can follow each other, like photos,
comment and tag other users in photo captions. Like Twitter, users can also
search for topics with hashtagged phrases.

Acquired by Facebook last year for their strong visual content
As of September 2012 there were over 100 million users
Over 5 million photos are shared every day
Over 5 billion photos existing on the site
Over 53,000 average daily visitors
33. Best Practices
•
•
•
•
•
Share photos that tell your story and showcase your skills in a
unique way. Limit shares to 3 times a day.
Use exclusive photos people can’t see anywhere else
Share photos to Twitter and Facebook
Limit hashtags to 6 per post
Use popular hashtags
• #nyc
• #newyork
• #views
• #architecture
• #love
• #beautiful
• #tbt
34. Best Practices
Getting More Followers:
Use the Popular/explore tab to see what
popular users are posting
Follow “Suggested Users” by selecting “Find Friends” > ”Suggested Users”.
Following users that have similar interests to you may encourage them to
follow you in return.
35. Best Practices
Comment on the photos that you enjoy. When you feel like you've got a sense of the
way Instagram works, start leaving comments on pictures that inspire you. Spreading
feelings of goodwill is a great way to increase your own base of followers.
Say something of substance. Emoticons or "Nice pic!" don't go as far in getting you
noticed as do honesty and sincerity.
36. Best Practices
Find and invite your friends to join.
This can be done from within the @(YourAccountName) settings tab on the far right.
Click the “Find friends” button to add friends from your
Facebook, Twitter, or address book, or simply search for
usernames and names of people you know that may be
using Instagram.
37. CLAUDIA SAEZ-FROMM
• Diverse posting strategy
• Shares family stories
• Shares Real estate content
organically without pushing a sale
message
• Shares her favorite Instagrams to
her time which includes workouts,
real estate, friends and family
