The science or practice of
farming, including cultivation
of the soil for the growing of
crops and the rearing of
animals to provide food,
wool, and other products.
6. 1.Primitive subsistence farming
i. This is still practiced in India
ii. This is practiced in small plot of land with
primitive tools like hoe, Dao and digging sticks
iii. It depends upon monsoon and climatic
conditions
iv. It is Slash and Burn agriculture
v. Land productive is low because farmers don’t
use fertilizers and other modern inputs

• Practiced in area of high population
• There is high pressure in land
• It is a labor intensive farming
• Bio-chemical imputed and
irrigation are used for obtaining
higher production
