Reminder Please make sure to complete your evaluation at: http://2011.cue.org Code: 2371 http://office.microsoft.com
Agenda: Portfolios (then and now) Portfolios (working and formal/presentation) Programs/Software Technology Standard Based Student Artifacts Across the Grade Level and Curriculum Student Interviews
What is a portfolio?(then) ,[object Object]
a set of pieces of creative work collected to be shown to potential customers or employerswordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
What is an E-portfolio?(now) ,[object Object]
a type of electronic learning record that provides actual evidence of achievement
can facilitate students' reflection on their own learning, leading to more awareness of learning strategies and needshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-portfolio
Types of Portfolios The Working Portfolio Documents the learning process, and which is really an "electronic documentation of learning," organized in reverse chronological order. The learner documents their growth over time. This working portfolio also includes the collection of the learner's artifacts. The work also focuses on the portfolio as a process and emphasizes reflection, which one might call "heart and soul" of the portfolio. http://electronicportfolios.com/faq.html
Types of Portfolios The Formal or Presentation Portfolio Documents that are organized around a set of learning outcomes, goals or standards, where a learner organizes the results of their learning process, drawing on their working portfolio to create a particular story of their learning (electronic OR hardcopy). http://electronicportfolios.com/faq.html
